The carbonara was really great, definitely recommend! I just love how creamy it was. They will also come and serve you with the cheese, having a good time with family there! The only concern was the portion is too small.

There we were at Piccadilly Square with at least 2 1/2 hours before we would be allowed to enter the theater to see a play. It being dinner time, everywhere we looked were American fast food places. Heck, we Americans didn't want to spend one of our few nights in London eating there. Then we spied a restaurant called Happy, which was new to us. It did not disappoint..and for one very important reason: it was one of the few eateries where we could have a salad for dinner as opposed to something fried. Yes, it has the feel of a chain. Yes, they know how to move lots of diners in and out quickly. That said, we could have sat there for hours and the staff wouldn't have cared. They were friendly, attentive, and efficient. There is even a buzzer at the table to beckon them. Most importantly, our salads were fresh and sized for dinner. Happy turned out to be a happy pick.

The staff was ok but constantly coming to table to get us to order quickly but we only just sat down got menu and within 2 mins asking if we was ready to order upon ordering we got our meals the food seemed ok at first but come later that night both me and my mate had stomach aches and pains leaving us with funny tastes in our throat but when phoned up to tell them about this they showed no remorse so this is why of the negative review

We went there because the restaurant won restaurant of the year for the last couple of years in London. Needless to say the food was lacking flavor and the staff were not attentive at all. On my next London visit, we look at other places to eat.

Tried to book this place while waiting for theatre show but was showing the next day. So decided to try and see if we can get seated and eat. Got seated very quickly ordered food and food came nice fresh and hot. So many options on the menu to choose from will definitely go back again. Service was excellent and it’s a nice restaurant happy with service all around.

Lovely looking restaurant and the staff are very smiley and generally nice. The food was not great, extremely salty, I was not impressed. The food could have been good but oversalted and seasoned. Too many clashing flavours. The beef used I believe was good quality. The price for a burger came without fries. The fries are flat so not much substance to them. I don't know how they can measure their service... At the end of my visit I was given the tablet to fill in a questionnaire but was asked only one question ⁉️ "Was your waiter smiling?" 🤔🙄 Will not be visiting again.

What a great find! Wide variety of choice on the menu. I had beef quesadilla and my partner had a burger and chips. The chips were chunky and the perfect combination of fluffy and crispy. We had creme brulee to share. Which was sprayed on and set alight once at the table. All food for delicious and presented beautifully. Lovely atmosphere and setting. Staff was friendly and helpful. Easily accessible by wheelchair. Ramp to get in.

I saw this restaurant on tik tok and excitedly booked it for my family, then looked at reviews and nearly changed my mind due to negative reviews. Thankfully I didn't we all enjoyed our meals and the the staff were fantastic. Highly recommend for families

Popped in for lunch recently on a day visit to London. Looked v welcoming, and friendly staff. Nice decor. Very quick service, which is great with kids. Salad v delicious, albeit on the small side.

Great atmosphere, great food, great services, great music, lots of fun, everything is just perfect to have a wonderful time with friends or for me with family. Don't forget to book it if you do not want to wait too long outside :-)

Gave this restaurant a go as the pictures of the menu looked great and they were advertising all kinds of awards…… however, we couldn’t have had a worst experience. It started off ok with decent service and a lovely starter but when the mains came out my wife’s was “Luke warm” and mine was just cold. I informed the waiter and he asked “do you want me to warm it up?” 😱 I said no thank you I’ll have a fresh one. 15min later my “fresh” one arrived, it had clearly been warmed up. So, when it came to the bill I thought it was a little pricey…… so I checked the receipt only to discover they’d charged me twice for my main meal…… terrible experience!

Me and 3 other friends were on a schooltrip from the Netherlands and decided to go eat out at Happy. The restaurant looks great. So did all of the food. The service was very good. We didn’t need a reservation for a table. After we ate we were all very excited and were talking about coming back in the future. Later when we went to the bathroom. We were very surprised to see someone dressed up as the Joker. We thought it was very strange and kind of creepy. But we didn’t pay attention to it. Later we were waiting for the bill. Suddenly the light turned off. The music started playing loudly and it was a scary tune. The staff started clapping along te music and had firework fountains in their hands. None of us knew what was going on. Then the Joker started running around the restaurant. He was playing around by scaring people. Even little children. How absurd?! When he came nearby our table one of my friends was scared so she looked away, but the Joker came back and scared her. We didn’t know what to do. When it was all over we just wanted to pay the bill as soon as possible and LEAVE. Even when the creepy stuff was finished nobody told us what was going on. They didn’t tell us anything. They just gave us the bill and we left. We all decided to never go back again! We’ll only go back if they ever remove this weird/creepy performance. We advise people that like creepy stuff to definitely go to this restaurant. If you have (small) children or get scared quickly you should run!

We had visited here 2 years ago and thought it would be ideal to return as two families with children. We were seated easily without pre booking. Our server took our order. Most things arrived correctly but a couple of the dishes were asked to be plain and weren’t so we had to wait for those to be redone. The food didn’t come out together so we were eating at different times and none of it was hot it was all warm. The portion sizes have been very much reduced since our last visit which then didn’t make it a good value meal or filling. I wouldn’t look to return I think we would be better to spend the money in something like the steak house opposite or street food in china town. It was a disappointing visit at top prices

If you order starters, make sure you keep cutlery, if you have been given any. Because for the mains, nobody will bother, even if you ask. I ordered steak, luckily I still had fork from starters, but no knife. I asked twice, from 2 different waitresses. Nobody ever came back. Been pressing the bell button, nothing. I gave up, eat literally like a savage cos the food was sitting on our table getting cold, but just to highlight the fact, this was not first time that we received super poor service. It is great shame, because food is usually lovely. Staff is never looking happy, therefore they got service charge. Just a poor experience.

We ate here last minute and managed to get a walk-in on a Friday evening within 10 mins. The decor and ambience in the restaurant are ok. The selection of food is OK, very similar to a TGI Friday's, to be honest. Food was very average, and nothing we had would make us want to rush back. Drink selection was varied, and the flavoured lemonades were lovely; especially the dragonfruit one. One thing we did note was that the portion sizes were definitely on the small side. Overall, just ok.

Choose Happy to celebrate my birthday, but not happy at all. I order the best seller Philly steak, the steak is tender and ok, but the chips are dry and hard as rock, the onion ring seems no onion and just flour. The gravy is too salty so I have to drink lots of water. The portion is small too. No one come to check if the meal was ok, also on one ask if any allergy. I told myself this is a bar restaurant and don’t expect too much. Have to press the table button if need sever, I pressed more than 5 times but no sever show up. Many servers but most of them no eye contacts, they just chat or play phones, some servers have eye contacts but ignored guests, I have to stop the server pass by to take my order after 10-15mins. Same problem when I pay the bill, I stop a girl server who pass by, she was very rude to press the table button and went away. After a couple mins, I have to stop another server and told her the table button doesn't work, she said it does work and they are busy. That’s why they didn’t know the table button doesn't work, cuz they ignored what the guests said. I order a Chocolate Souffle and told the server if possible to put a candle, he questioned if I made the booking (I think if make booking, they will offer a piece of cake), I said no so I order the Chocolate Souffle and just want a candle to make a birthday wish. He sent me a piece of cake but not Chocolate Souffle, I thought they are so kind and sweet to give guest a complimentary cake even no booking. But it shows on the bill, I told the sever what I thought and this cake not on the menu, and he showed up the menu immediately. OMG, I even didn’t aware this cookies & cream cake on the menu, this would never be my choice. I paid 10 pounds for a piece of cake that I don’t like, I ate it so I paid for it. But I am not happy, I like chocolate and just want chocolate in my birthday to make myself happy. Going to give 5 pounds tips for the “complimentary cake”, lucky I check the bill before doing it. Overall is not in standard, many good restaurants in Central London. I should read the reviews before go. My fault.

First thing to note is the soft drinks are a can, £3.70 for a 330ml can. I mention this as my friends were all pretty disgusted by that, you might as well get a cocktail or beer. Other than that, it’s central London so the food prices are high, but to be expected. The menu is varied, there are a lot of things on there I would like to try, but I opted for the highly recommended Mr Cheesy burger. The cheese sauce was lovely, but as a burger, I’ve had better, I’d give it about 6.5/10. I think I would go here again to try something different, but if it didn’t wow me then I wouldn’t be back a third time. The reviews from around my table were “it’s ok”.

This has always been a must for us during a trip to London for our family. We have always had a fantastic experience in the past and have been about 6 or 7 times in the past few years. However, dinner on Tuesday night was hugely disappointing . Whilst the starters were nice, the mains were a big let down. 2 mains arrived quite a bit before the third meal, with a brief explanation of there being problems in the kitchen. It was clear that the 2 that had arrived first had been hanging around as they were both lukewarm. In fact the cheese sauce had been sat around for so long it had gone hard which the waitress noticed and changed. When the third meal arrived 2 separate waiting staff were asked for condiments, and yet none ever arrived. At no point did anyone come to check if the meal was ok, if they had we may have had the opportunity to exchange the meals for hot replacements. To top everything off, for the following 24 hours, all three of us were complaining of tummy ache. In the past we have tipped generously, however upon seeing the hefty £16 tip, for the first time ever in a restaurant we asked for the tip to be removed, we left a much smaller tip, reflecting on what we felt was deserved. It’s such a shame that one of our favourite restaurants has become one that we would hesitate before booking again.

First visit, Starting with the Mac n cheese and chicken ( both tasty,but lukewarm)and cold food being left on the counter,under a hot lamp (didn't keep food hot!) for 10 mins before being served to me. This was the Philly Steak meal. When I did get my meal returned,it was hot,but steak was chewy .Also portion size was small, enough to eat,but small for the money My wife's food was hot n tasty. The beer I had was reasonably priced,and my wife's Long island iced tea was tasty too. Didn't hang around for pudding ,as was out off by this point. Two other tables sent there food back with the same cold food issue's. So despite all the good reviews I've read,my visit was a let down.

We discovered this great restaurant on a very wet evening while wandering round trying to find somewhere good to eat. Great find. Food amazing, loads of choice, great staff. Especially YUSI on the door who dried my husbands hat for him while we ate our meal. We were both drenched so nice gesture. Loads of choice. Food came out really fast and was delicious. Good value too. Some really funky cocktails too. All in all just what we needed after getting soaked totally recommend

Tucked in the middle of Piccadilly, London, Happy Restaurant defies the tourist trap stereotype. Despite a queue outside, the wait was worth it. Inside, we found excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere. The Philly Steak, Quesadillas, and Shrimp were all delicious and served quickly. We'll be returning to explore more of their menu. Highly recommended for both locals and tourists alike.

I am amazed of the good quality of the food, the excellent service of the staff. Kind, fast, tasty and absolutely great experience. Totally recommend it if you are looking for a place to eat.

For the past couple of days I’ve been to many restaurants in London, but none of them is as good as HAPPY LONDON. Best atmosphere, excellent food and absolutely unique staff service. I recommend it with both hands. If you are looking for a place to have tasty food, great experience and an outstanding service, then HAPPY LONDON is your place. The manager - Lyubomir is very polite, and is doing his job at an excellent level!

Hospitality was on point, the menu is very diverse so everyone can have a great experience. Lyubomir was extremely friendly and welcoming and made us feel like we're home.

This was our second time here and in comparison to the last visit, this one was very average and would of been better going elsewhere. The restaurant itself is lovely and we were seated quickly though wish the waiters had a better smile on their faces However my son wanted the beef ribs but were told they were not available to we both had the beef in black bean sauce, I had mine with fries and my son had it with mashed potato. Well what can I say the mash potato was just like one scoop from an ice cream scooper £4.50 or something (would of got better at a Gordon Ramsey restaurant) and the fries? .. They were so dry and lukewarm, I wouldn't call them fries at all to be honest despite not offered ketchup or mayo either. Anyway the beef dish wasnt bad but beef was chewy, would of been better to go to the traditional Chinese restaurant down the road and would of been much cheaper than a 17.99 per dish. Overall price including an added non optional service charge of £6.71 total around 59.99. Really not worth cost let alone normal cans of coke costing £3.75 each. You need to look at this managers. Please advise your waiters etc to be a bit more pleasent to their customers and even better a smile would be nice, check everything is okay with their meal. Also saw alot of your staff on their mobile phones. Needs looking into. Not sure we ll be back anytime soon especially after seeing some of these bad or average reviews. Needs a bit of improvement

Went here with friends on a Saturday. We all enjoyed our food and the staff were really friendly too. It’s quite a large place and was full of people - obviously a popular place!

Having been to Happy Restaurant in Burgas - Bulgaria, I expected to be the same quality and standard. I came to Happy London today for birthday celebration - the decoration and atmosphere were spot on. We were seated quickly and ordered drinks - homemade lemonade strawberry, strawberry mojito & smoky negroni. The smoke negroni was too strong for my liking. Both other drinks were 👌🏽. For starters - hummus & guacamole and crispy Greek duo - did not disappoint. For the mains - Happy beef fillets with porchini mushrooms sauce & philly steak. They were both tasty and enjoyed, but the wow factor was missing. The Happy in burgas smashed it out of the park compared to Happy London. One thing that was very disappointing and ruined the overall experience and I would've given 5* had it not been for our server adding their own service charge. We asked for the bill, and our server came with the card machine and asked if we were paying a card or cash. Told her card and proceeded to give us the machine to make payment. Was not given receipt of payment until I asked for it. As we were in a rush , I only realised this after seeing 'opt service charge' having left the restaurant. I'm very disappointed. Because of this, even though the food was tasty & I enjoyed it, it was ruined. I searched the website & menu & could not find the service charge policy added to the final bill. If it was written somewhere, I would've gladly accepted it.

Visiting our son in London we went to Happy for dinner , walked past it several times as it’s always busy , last night we had a look at menu and it looked amazing we decided to give it a try and we were not disappointed the food was delicious will definitely be back on our next visit .

Happy. More like sad. The menu looks good but the food… not so much. I had quesadillas and I’ve never seen anything so pitiful… I could have made it better. My friend didn’t even eat her tacos… which were tiny for £15… that didn’t even come with fries. Had to pay for those separately. Our bill came to over £75 for two people and after we had to go and get something else to eat. Our server was cocky and had an attitude right from the off. Even the table next to us, you could hear them complaining about the food. Will never go back here.

Booked a meal following a recommendation and was sadly disappointed. Shown to table quickly but weren’t told we’d to press a buzzer to summon a waiter. When we caught a passing server he said you’ve to press the buzzer and showed us the buzzer, oh well. Ordered a starter of calamari to share which was lovely. It was a main dish but it wasn’t a problem having it as a starter. Tasty fish which I’d recommend. For mains we ordered a chicken strip burger with a side of fries and a chicken steak with egg in a flatbread bun. Strips were lukewarm with limp lettuce, had asked for sauce which didn’t appear until I’d finished most of my meal. It wasn’t awful but I prefer my food hot not tepid. When asked how meal was I told them the temperature was disappointing, received an apology and was given a free coke but left feeling the food wasn’t as good as we’d expected. I think they made the 3 mains at same time and left the two sitting until we’d started the calamari as they appeared with the mains before we’d finished the starter. Doubt we’ll rush to eat here again. >£70 for 2 cokes and 3 dishes with 2 sides.

The first time in my life I ever handed food back, at 42 years of age. The place looks great but the food was beyond terrible. I took a bite of the first chip and it was cold, as was most of the philly steak. The steak itself was clearly cheap meat, rubbery and hard to chew. I asked for it to be reheated and I ended up eating just a few chips. We were taken in by the presentation of the place but ya live and learn. More effort needs to be spent on the food quality and less on the theatrics......

This is our 2nd visit to Happy and what a massive disappointment. Greasy, bland food. The steak came presented nothing like the big juicy steak in the menu photos. It was tiny and difficult to cut into even with a steak knife, chewy and just awful. We sent it back informing the manager just how disgusting it was. The manager was a great actor, claiming he had a steak earlier and it was delicious! Utter rubbish! The chicken strips were bland and the carbonara was greasy. Then the optional service charge was automatically added to the bill until I asked for it to be removed due to the service being nothing more than normal and not worth the £10 they added! I will never visit Happy again!
