Happy House in Glasgow City

Ooft this place is disgusting. Ordered food on a Saturday night and stood and waited for it to be cook, chicken was rock solid and the chips tasted like it was reheated a million times. Won’t be back.

Special fried rice is delish orderd a wee extra tub of the gravey so there was plenty sauce , and quick delivery.

Food is great and probably the best Chinese in the area however I always wonder what a chicken curry tastes like without onions in it as I always ask to have none but usually have more onions than chicken 🤣

waited over an hour and phoned to see where our order was to be told it was out for delivery, phoned them again half an hour later and were told they were going to check order and phone us back, phoned again half an hour later and they said it was out for delivery. 3 and a half hours and 3 phone calls later there is still no delivery, we have phoned another takeaway. absolutely shambolic service, avoid at all cost

I use happy house all the time , great tasty food i live round the corner from it , lovely service , i get duck and plum sauce and rice perfectly cooked

Ordered tonight in house wrong order when I came home phoned them and they wanted to charge me for a delivery charge the food was disgusting salt and pepper chips were rock hard I will never order from here again all food went in the bin £13.80 what a waste of money

Really surprised at the low overall rating of happy house. Tried this place 3 times now and each time it's been spot on. Curry sauce is amazing. Portion sizes are great aswell. Well worth a try, far better than alot of higher rated places in the southside

Just picked up order of half portion of beef curry and rice. Omg i'm just glad it was only a half portion as it was absolutely awful and went in the bin. Beef was as tough as old boots sauce was so thick you could have danced on it and there was very little in the way of onions. They had a cheek to add 10% service charge for pick up. Give this place a wide berth in future

I got a curry from here and it was most awful thing ave seen , it looked it mud was disgusting curry sauce wasn’t mixed rite was disgusting spare ribs n gravy was disgusting 🤮 don’t waste your money like I did all went in the bin 😡

Dreadful food absolutely dreadful read the reviews before ordering some people have given it great reviews but no no no the environmental health should visit this hell hole.

You'll find my review on their own site but I'm so annoyed I'll leave another here. This is a locally Chinese takeaway, never used it till tonight & I'll never be back, The food was disgusting, 1). Beef Chiwmein - A dishwater flavoured overcooked glump pile with a few scraps of beef. Twas Tasteless & went in the bin. 2.) Bannana fritters where soggy tasteless, the batter was sub standard, they looked & tasted under cooked for the one mouthful I attempted. All went in bin. At a time where peoples money is precious this company is taking no pride or thanks they are 'at this point still in business'. I ordered a chicken curry with mushroom and boiled rice. The rice was over-boiled creating a heavy mushy texture and the curry itself was far too salty – so after the first few bites it got binned. The menu states they do ‘sliced’ chicken and when you request this over the phone the lady repeats back to you… ‘chopped’… although you specifically say ‘sliced’ [as per menu] – but to save an argument you just agree. Apart from that she is a nice lady. I don’t know if it’s a change in chef but I’ve been coming here for years and the quality had dipped considerably so I won’t be going back as it’s not worth the money. The cooking of rice should be simple enough but they can’t even hack that now so it’s disappointing it’s come to this. Your better off to go to Hong Kong takeaway down the road – their rice is always cooked correctly and the food isn’t too salty. I’m sure there are other dishes they do very well but basic dishes shouldn’t be a let down.

food on 2 occasions was disgusting watery curry sauce no flavour chips as hard as a brick chow mein starchy and very dry chips reheated would never eat again wouldnt rate 1 star would avoid at all costs save your money for ocean palace discrace

Order a home delivery took 1hr 25 min to arrive all food was cold called to complain was told nothing was wrong with the food only after a lot of pressure finally offered my money back and took the cold food back sad end to a 25 year customer never use them again

My chips were just chunks of batter and the salt and chilli chicken tasted like Asda cheap chicken nuggets. My box for the food both had holes poked through them as if someone was bored with a pen. Absaloutly disgusting and will never return. Would give no stars if I could

A basic takeaway that does all the sinple chinese food you expect. Prices are reasonable . Service is fast. Guy at the till takes a bit if getting used too. Not very welcoming. But the food makes up for it. Free prawn crackers, lovely noodles, ni e soup, chicken schezuen just magic. The chicken is frozen and precooked. You pay for what you get i suppose. Cheap and cheerful :)

Our ward in the QEUH has been using Happy House for years on a regular basis. Tonight I have just recieved the most disgraceful abuse when trying to correct my order that was wrong. I was very polite to the man at the other end of the telephone trying to sort out the error, to which he started accusing me of sending an order back because I did not want to pay for it! Politely I said indeed that was not the case and that there had been miscommunication. He then continued to speak to me in an aggressive tone accusing me also of suddenly developing amnesia. I asked him kindly not to be so rude to me as I was just trying to resolve the problem. He then told me I was being rude to the food as it had to be binned. I again advised what the correct order should have been and he in a raised voice told me never to phone again and that we were barred. We have always had great service with happy house, and have been very valued customers providing happy house with a lot of business. Our patients also rely on this take away for their Chinese if they feel like treating themselves, makes a change from hospital food! I am very disappointed in the attitude from this person and even more disappointed for the patients and hard working staff that will now be let down by this one individual. Shame on you, a little education in interpersonal skills wouldn’t go a miss.

Use this Chinese every week for the past year and the male who answers the phone is the phone is the rudest person I have ever spoken to. all my family order from there but will defo be using somewhere else CRAP CUSTOMER SERVICE

Get the chicken satay on the skewer for your take away. It costs extra but tastes better than ordinary satay. It comes with boiled rice although you can get fried for an extra 20p.

I regularly have a takeaway from The Happy House, and would recommend to anyone. Lovely food and good portion sizes. I would particularly recommend the Chicken with green pepper and black bean sauce.

I had Szechuan chicken and fried rice and I can say it's the best I've ever had I'd definitely recommend this takeaway

Fantastic food! Good quality and ample amount of food!

Less than an hour since I ordered my meal and I'm already on here giving 6/6 Lovely fresh food delivered in no time at all...and I'm not even a huge fan of Chinese food. One remark. Not a criticism, just a comment...why do most Chinese places send you free prawn crackers when you've ordered an entirely veggie meal?

Been a regular customer since opening and have never been disappointed with this place. Some good value deals in the menu, I've always found delivery prompt and staff friendly.

We always order from happy house, sometimes a couple nights a week, with a big family some orders are over 50 pounds and usually service and delivery is great and food always tastes amazing, but tonight I've placed an order two hours ago and still no sign, its disappointing when were such loyal customers.

We always order Happy House along with my co-workers. Our number one option when we're on shift. Generous portions, fast delivey.

Order from here quite a lot food is always good , services is always good and now with today's delivery time on 19 minz from order to door I thought it was time to let other know how good this place is ( Evan tho more customers may slow down my delivery time :-)) ) FABULOUS! ( only down side from my view is that I only drink Irn-bru but it's not on the munu but food 👌

Worst takeaway ever!!!!! Just eat said my meal would take 45mins....after 1hr I called the Happy house, they said they were really busy due to all the people who had came into the shop for food. (She indicated that face to face customers were prioritised over online customers!) She said my food would be 30mins. I waited 40 minutes then called again. She said it would be another 10mins....it arrived 25mins later. I was offered no discount and jade to wait 2hrs for my food. Why couldn't they just be upfront at the start and tell people it'd be 2hrs. I'll never order from here again. Also, my meal was meant to be a Thai Beef meal. They sent me a sweet and sour beef by accident (I hate sweet and sour) but at a risk of having another sharade with my food, I ended up just eating it.

I ordered ribs and Peking style chicken at 6.30pm. The initial delivery time was 7.10, then a further email saying 7.35. No delivery at 7.35, so give them a call to be told that it hadn't even been cooked yet. I was told that they always deal with walk ins first (because they don't want people sitting there for an hour but ok for me to sit over an hour and a half) then they do phone orders and then they 'get to just eat' regardless of when the order is placed. So that means that every time a person walks in, even if it's an hour after they receive my order, they get served first. Shambles. Order arrived at 8.10pm, 1hr40mins after order was placed and it's not even Peking style chicken which is meant to be crispy. It was just chunk of chicken in a sweet and sour sauce with chunks of pineapple floating about in it. Fair to say they've lost a customer.

Quick Delivery, piping hot food and packaged well. Shredded Chilli Beef was tasty but I did not think the quality of the chicken in my Kung po was up to scratch.

Food was late - ordered at 18:30 and it didn't arrive until 20:00. Just Eat had called them at 19:20 for me to find out where it was... apparently it would be with me in 10 mins. 30 mins later nothing - asked just eat to ask where it was again and explained that I had just left hospital after being starved for 48 hours so didn't want to wait any longer. When the delivery driver turned up she simply stated '£15.40' no hi or apology. I think I'll be ordering elsewhere in the future. Poor service. Apparently being 'very busy' is excuse enough for bring food 45 minutes late. I was looking forward to this meal, for obvious reasons. Very disappointed. I used to order from here often...

Crispy shredded chilli chicken Fried rice Chips Curry sauce ....FREE prawn crackers anf fortune cookies Everything was top notch! Delicious. Plus not only do they read the special requirements/requests, i even had a phone call from them just to make sure they were making it exactly as i like 👌👌👌

Food was good as always. Accidentally overcharged. Gave takeaway driver £21 for £10.90 takeaway (hoping for £10 note back) - he said he didn't have the 10p which was fine. However he gave me all change and on further inspection he had accidentally given me a 10p instead of a pound coin. Please keep this in mind for next time I order. Thanks.

Food was OK. Delivery over the time specified and prawn crackers missing :-( Had asked for the missing prawn crackers to be brought out to me which they refused as 'they're busy'. Disappointing because personally I don't feel the meal is the same without them. Supposedly they'll give me two bags next time. Let's hope they keep this promise.
