Amazing food, absolutely lovely service (they kept checking everything was okay and that we enjoyed the food, which we LOVED). And so so cheap I can’t believe it. I had fish noodle soup, pork buns and some other dim sum and it was all amazing, delicious and authentic

No frills, just tasty and warming dishes. Great portion sizes, fair prices. Cash only though! Recommend the soup noodles and soup dumplings!

CASH ONLY. Aside from the annoyance of having to go get money from a cash point just to grab some casual food in a mall food court, we were excited for some good Chinese food after a long journey to Glasgow. The food was mid. I didn't have particularly high expectations for Chinese food in Scotland tbh as it doesn't have a great reputation for being authentic. It was nice to see a Chinese menu. It is packed full of items that are not on the confusing English menu. The English menu is basically useless for any anglophone who wants legit Chinese food here. Thankfully, I was with a Chinese person who can read the real menu. That said, the flavours were a let down. It seemed a bit bland and lacking. It wasn't bad at all, just not that good. It seemed a little toned down like they're making it for British taste buds, even though the majority of people eating there were are Asian. Or maybe it was just an off day. I'm not sure. Maybe by Scottish standards this is cheap, but for anybody else, this was VERY expensive for the portion size and quality of the food. £13-15 for basic fried noodles or beef noodle soup is completely outrageous to me for what we got and the fact it has all the ambience of eating mediocre street food in a rundown underground mall food court. It's good for a quick bite if you're not too picky, and maybe this is the best Glasgow has to offer for Chinese food (which would be sad), but I don't think I'd bother coming back. Not at those prices.

Food was amazing, cannot recommend enough! Service was prompt and food was super well priced. The smell of the food from this place should be enough to draw anyone in 😅

Unassuming atmosphere, delicious food. I thought I didn't like sweet and sour chicken, turns out I just never had had GOOD sweet and sour chicken before. Fried rice was still very light. Fried pork dumplings were my favoeite.

We found this hidden place inside the Savoy Centre and decided to give it a try. The owners are originally from Fujian as my girlfriend and so we ordered some typical dishes from that region. The ingredients might be not the freshest you can find but the taste is definitely there. Good dishes, well made and rich of flavors and very generous portions. This is only the second place I found since I’m Europe (29y) who makes dishes typically from Fujian. Very good value for money and also the service is quick and kind

The most authentic place you can find at a very reasonable price. Oyster cakes and Beef Offal noodles are must try dishes. They also have set menus for locals, but I would suggest stepping out of your usual palate to try a real Chinese taste.

Thought they have several menus and we were a bit confused about it, the foods are lovely and the price was reasonable. It was a little bit disappointed that they served a can of Sprite even we ordered 7-up (which the picture was on the menu) and they didn’t tell us that there was no stock of 7-up or anything.

I never usually write reviews, but this place is incredible I just had to. The service is incredibly fast and the staff are very friendly and attentive. I think the place is family run which adds to the good vibes. Olive Tree is cash only but this will help keep prices cheap. The £8.50 lunch deal will get you a big starter and an absolutely giant main course; in all honestly the food is not the best i’ve had - but it is still delicious and this is understandable with such quick service. You won’t have to wait any longer than 10 minutes for your meal. My favourites are the beef in black bean and the sweet and sour chicken. This place is a hidden gem that I cannot recommend more!!! (I couldn’t wait to take a photo before I dug in!)

Fab fab fab wee place to have lunch. Great for the price and the quality of food. My partner always has the brisket beef noodle and I am still going on the list with the lunch menu but overall great portion and variety of food. Siumai was nice as well! And if you're indonesian, they have lomaigai and odading (fried sweet dough) during lunch! Absolutly love the odading so much it brings back memories!!

The food was okay, but the staff attitude stinks, walked in and nobody bothered to ask or bring the menu ihad to get it myself, then I spilled the soup, I informed one of the staff about this and was instead handed a blue roll to clean it MYSELF. UNBELIEVABLE! I am spending my money and nobody cares about customer service? Will not be back or recommend to anyone,

Saw this place on social media, so wanted to try it out. Food was okay, nothing special. My soup noodle was salty but didn’t want to complain to staff as they looked grumpy. The 2 chefs in kitchen looked busy and under pressure so didn’t want to inconvenience them. It is very popular with Asian students but can’t recommend the food as we didn’t enjoy our meal. There are better Asian restaurants in Glasgow who also serve this type of Asian cuisine, and with better surroundings. However, if you just want a cheap meal or snack and not bothered about standards of service, then you may as well check it out

There must have been a recent change of ownership. This place used to be called Eastern Legend so been order for many decades and whenever it became Cathay Cuisine it actually got better. However recently the customer service is a disgrace. The guy on the phone is rude and good luck getting him to understand if you are from Glasgow. Like trying to draw blood from a stone. The food came but the salt and chilli chips went in the bin having been tasted by 3 people and all agreed it was covered in black pepper or worse. Avoid as of November 2024 and that's coming from someone who has ordered from here for over 20 years going back to Eastern Legend. Disgusting and will never order again from here.

Discovered this takeaway a few months ago after trying several others in the area. We won't order anywhere else now. Breast of chicken curry is delicious and the salt n chilli chicken is flavourful and not too spicy. Proper type of chips you'd expect from an old school Chinese takeaway, piping hot fried rice and loads of lovely crispy prawn crackers. We've never had a bad meal or bad service from here and our delivery usually arrives very quickly but maybe living nearby helps! Don't let the shop front put you off. It's better than you'd expect.

Appalling. 2¾ hours after accepting order, no food has arrived. Phone isn't answered. They simply let it ring for over 5 mts then clear the line. Took money quickly enough but have now admitted that they have no driver. Dreadful customer service, especially for a regular customer. DO NOT order from them unless you want to go hungry and them keeping your money. Have now had to complain to my Bank

Was good. Only issue is the ‘Shredded Chicken’ is quite thick. Still good though
