Absolutely vile! Cannot put into words how utterly repugnant this food was! You should be completely ashamed of yourself for serving this utter filth! Your elders would be turning in their grave if they knew you served this sewage. Every thing has the same taste. Everything salted to high heavens! Repulsive, straight in the bin. We had ordered via uber today. The worst kind of food I had in my life today. Steamed Chicken Dimsum was a total disaster. We were not able to eat a bite, it was like a rotten item. We are so disappointed, we can't express ourselves. The same goes for Wonton soup. Negative 100% quality. Never have we had such terrible food.

Just ordered food via Uber eats, delivery service is good, but the taste just barely meet my expectations. The steamed prawn is the worst I’ve ever had in Glasgow, the worst texture ever but sold in £7’19. As for the chicken fried rice too salty but ok. The only good item was the chicken wings. When the price level is fixed you definitely have so much better choice instead of this one, with more authentic and cost effective choices.

I used to be a big fan of this place but the chefs have changed and its went downhill alot.

Charged £9 for a small tub cardboard of chicken curry with fried rice in 1 tray and it was soggy, watery and over al disgusting the salt and chilli chips were okay bit dry tho we picked the order up instead of delivery £15 odds it came too it was disappointing and rotten food won’t be back!

I ordered vegetable Chow Mein and It was full of salt and sauce. It wasn’t even cooked properly. They took £12 and gave me small portion. Owner has a bad attitude. He doesn’t know how to speak with customers, his bad behaviour made me write a complaint here .

Not meeting the expectations. Ordered a Singapore chow mein for my dinner tonight and got very small portion of chicken noodles which had Indian masala taste than a Chinese. Would try and avoid it in future at any circumstances.

Went a few times and food was OK nothing special. However the owner has an attitude problem and doesn't like criticism it seems. So he expects customers to just say nothing and eat his food. That's not how it works. If I don't like your food or how it's prepared I will say so. Now up until that point I had used him several times before I noticed the new chef cooking my meal. So basically he hired a new chef who was wiping his hands in a dirty towel which looked like it hadn't been washed in weeks. Then he was touching raw meat. I told the owner chef about this and that I had been put off by this as I didn't consider it very hygienic and I asked them to cook it again or give me a refund. He took offense and the two of them started being nasty to me and he just gave me my money back and told me to buy my Chinese food somewhere else next time. Well yea I think I will be after that. It's funny how some chefs and takeaways can act nice until you criticise them. It's the food industry guys your not selling me a plasma TV.

Absolutely love cuisine on offer here. A large range of authentic and delicious dishes cooked quickly and served to perfection. Cannot recall a visit in which I was dissatisfied.

Food was nice but the portion sizes are for kids! If you're going to order from here you'll need to double up your order or you'll be left hungry. With that being said it worked out to be expensive

quite disappointed since I've heard this place is great. chips were like oven chips, and the sweet and sour chicken had so much veg and not much chicken - disappointed for the price

amazing food and really fast service (only 28 mins between pressing ‘pay’ and food arriving at my place). they actually give you value for money instead of just putting a couple chilli seeds on something and calling it a spicy chinese dish. chips were crispy and had loads of veg and spicy seasoning on, and chicken had crispy skin but was so soft inside, like the wings fell off the bone p much. all came with a slice of lemon (amazing touch) and in boxes with a bunch of cooked onions and peppers and chilli seeds. also really liked that all packaging was plastic-free. by far my fav chinese place, would die for their food. would give 6 stars if i could

Chicken & black bean sauce best I’ve ever tasted 😋😋👌

Not bad but not great. This is the place I would order from if nothing else was open rather than ordering taco bell or some other fast food. The spring rolls have chunks of ham in them which I find super weird, totally not authentic and a but gross. Food a bit greasy but not bad if you feel like chinese and other places are closed.

My favourite Chinese cook in the district. I love it when he gives attitude to slacker uber eats deliverers, makes me feel like in some sort of Hong Kong Jackie Chan kitchen scene. Just as the Chef the food also makes me happy.

Best Chinese takeaway in the West End in my opinion. Tried many around the area over the past few years but this is the first one that’s consistently been brilliant. Love the duck wraps, chicken fried rice and salt & chilli chips

I generally don't leave negative reviews but the JustEat delivery from Home Wok last Saturday was so bad it would be remiss of me not to warn others. We ordered shredded chilli beef, chicken breast curry and a sechuan chicken. The sechuan chicken had no spice whatsoever and the chicken was 'weird' - strangely rubbery. Everything tasted a bit weird; not like the same thing from other takeaways and not in a good way. My wife got halfway through her curry before rushing to the bathroom to vomit. The rest went in the bin. Not just bad - perhaps dangerous. A decade or so ago this was one of my favourite takeaways. Something terrible has happened. Worst home delivery since start of lockdown last March.

Fri 27th Nov: Disappointing service from Homewok today. We placed our order through their website just before 7pm and it took 2 hours to arrive. When it finally arrived part of our order was wrong - we were given a sweet and sour chicken dish instead of the tofu satay which we had ordered - when I phoned to ask about this they offered me a refund but said it was too late for them to make us another tofu satay. While we were glad to be given the refund it left us without a main dish for our meal because we don't eat meat, so sadly the chicken was wasted. However, the food that we were able to eat (veg spring rolls, salt+pepper chips, udon noodles) was all good. EDIT (Mon 7th Dec): we still have not received the refund for the tofu dish! I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and waited a full 5 working days, but it has now been over a week and the refund has not appeared. This is very poor service on their part and we will not be ordering from Homewok again!!

Had a brilliant takeaway! The menu is full of great dishes and we received all-round top service.

I drove passed here last night and decided to treat myself after spending the previous night in A&E. I have immediate regret. While the premises are clean and steps are taken to protect against covid in the shop front, i was less than pleased with my overall experience. After looking at the menu, I asked if I could order salt and pepper mini spring rolls, not on the menu but I thought I'd ask since its basically tossing seasoning on the item. The server who asked the chef on my behalf was give a harsh no! I could hear this as the kitchen is all open. I then ordered items strictly from the menu - salt and pepper squid, salt and pepper chicken wings, kung po vegetables with fried rice, chicken chow mein and salt and pepper chips --£33. Bit much no?! Aside from the price I waited 30 minutes for my order to be ready, despite other customers and orders coming in after me and receiving their food first. I felt the chef was somewhat rude to his staff - I have worked in hospitality for many years and personally have a certain opinion on how chefs should speak to each other and his was not pleasant. I know he realised I had been waiting long as he approached me, asked what my order was and suddenly mine jumped to the top of the list and became top priority. Yet no apology given. After receiving my food I immediately went home and unloaded the order -- no chips. But by this point I was going to drive back to the restaurant for chips. Both starters tasted lovely and the chicken chow mein was decent too. But my own main meal -- kung po veg -- the sauce basically tastes of watered down tomato puree with zero flavour or spices added. Horrific. Whole dinner ruined. Service in shop could have been over looked if the food was nice but sadly very disappointing and well below the standards of the west end. Won't be eating here again and do not recommend anyone else to.

As a salt and pepper chip connoisseur throughout central scotland, these are the best I have ever had. Good job homewokers. I would wok 500 miles for these any day ;)

£30 for a mediocre duck that I could not finish, some chips and a starter. The food was both cold, and soggy on arrival with the exception of their salt and pepper chicken, which was lukewarm and tasted quite alright actually. So, if you like those, guess this place is okay. Everything else did not however taste as good, and I was unable to finish. Nothing quite as sad as cold soggy chips on a Friday night, sad times. The service was poor. The staff weren't very helpful. They charge such a hefty price for piss poor food and service. I really would not recommend this place. Go somewhere else. :(

Nice food, defo get the salt and pepper chips! Tasty egg fried rice and spring rolls that’s all I had because I wasn’t too hungry but we ordered other bits and everyone enjoyed it but we have all had better, nice for a late night eat.

Was left really unimpressed with this place. They got my order wrong and what my husband ordered was bland and flavorless. Save your money, go elsewhere.

It is a pity that they take your order then cancel 10 mins before it arrives with a Message saying they are closed. whoever runs this outfit should take more care with its customers. BTW the money goes to an account registered in Jersey. Are they charging us VAT and not paying VAT?

s. Took that with a pinch of salt even tho it is only a few hundred yards away but as its a horrible night and pay day I was prepared for a delay. However when it got to an hour and a quarter later I felt I had to call. Staff in shop couldn't really help and advised another 20mins but manager called me back in 5mins. Good. He was apologetic but didn't seem to understand that getting delivery 1 hr 40 mins after order was totally unacceptable. He offered to discount to 10 pounds and I said that is short of the industry standard, I would not expect anyone to pay for that stance, especially with kids sharing food. Wouldn't have minded paying delivery fee however. I explained that I didn't think his offer was acceptable I informed him that I would take it but I would be posting on TA so that other customers can make an informed decision. All I got back was a claim I was threatening him and looking for free food. I would never have ordered had I known this was going to be so long. He actually advised me to cancel order if I wasn't happy. Can you imagine then having to go through another route at 9.25 with kids waiting?? Order arrived just after call and was Stone cold. Called them to inform them so that anything I post is up front and they are aware. Manager got upset and tried at that point to fully reimburse but I felt that wasn't the point any more. I was not seeking free food and paid my share but customers need to know what service they may receive and also what treatment they may expect in complaint, even if they have used the takeaway for years. I try to use this platform to help identify best practice but this annoyed me so much I felt I had no choice.

I ordered a takeaway this evening and it was so bad. I would not recommend this food. It cost me £28 for 2 people and I put most of it in the bin.

Absolute garbage. Ordered crispy hoisin chicken and it came soggy and smelled and tasted of out of date chicken. Ate my rice and chips and threw the rest in the bin. On top of it all, ordered through UberEats who had the worlds most bs customer service and refused to provide a refund (they kept telling me on the phone to complain through the app, which I did before calling, and received a response email with the same bs speech that the outsourced customer service rep gave me on the phone). Although I've only eaten at Home Wok once, it was the worst chinese takeaway I've experienced in Glasgow, and most likely the worst I've had in my whole life. I will never eat here again.

Ordered Hoisen Chicken. Tiny portion of chicken with fried rice for £8. Total rip off. If the price was £3, it would still have been pricey!

Pay £20 plus £3.5 delivery change for a quarter aromatic duck, pork dumplings and salt chill squid. Received just a tiny bit of raw cold and definitely not aromatic, all went to the bin, another two all sized like feed a baby. Very disappointing, waste money. Never go again, or recommend to anyone!!!

These guys sell noodles that stretch around the entire earth’s circumference, twice! They are not listed on the menu so simply ask for ’earth noodles’ and they will happily oblige. The salt & chilli chicken is to die for.

No fue rallado, fue recocido en partes tan secas y crujientes y tenía trozos de cartílago y grasa en todo. Que ascoRealmente decepcionado como lo esperaba con ansias. No volveré A los 18 años por medio pato, no es barato, sino que pagaría más por la calidad de lo que se servía esta noche.

Fabulous tasting food great menu great portions fantastic price and best of all the staff are amazing so dont waist any time pick up your phone and get dialling or pop in and place your order for some of the best Chinese food out there. In my opinion the best food in and around this place and management are also superbly fantastic to customers and staff. This is the best Chinese food out there in my opinion the best service out there in my opinion and also a great selection of different types of food stuff for all the family from the kids to all adults. Delivery driver phoned me to say she was outside and when I went out she was nowhere to be seen and the number phoned from was unavailable. Phoned restaurant and they said I had to phone deliveroo. If I could give them a minus star points I most certainly would. Avoid ordering online from them!!!

Since all Chinese' restaurants I've tried in Glasgow are pretty bad this one is alright. If you're ever coming through a less populated place, let's say dunfermline in fife, pontefract in Yorkshire. You'll find some good places to eat there. Don't know why cities can't get Chinese food right.

Ordered special fried rice with curry sauce separate this was 23.02 it is now 12.03 it was going to take fifteen minutes it's ten minutes away .. ordered kung-po prawns; it was glutenous, overly sweet and left a really horrible after taste; probably one of the worst chinese take away dishes i've eaten. ever.

Disappointing - foil tray just over half full for main course of HK sweet and sour chicken and chilli squid was cold. Given that I spent £30 and they charged £4 for delivery I am not sure that I got value and will be looking for a different take away in future. It's not like a bit of chicken or peppers are expensive to make either. Used to be a lot better, not sure what's happened or why they scrimped on chicken.

Just had a really quick, really fresh and tasty delivery. I'd been avoiding homewok for a good while, but this was the second really good delivery we've had this month, so it looks like they're going back to their old, much higher standards.

Me encantaría revisar la comida, pero lamentablemente nunca apareció. Pedí solo comer a las 7. 30 pm hora estimada de entrega 8. 30 pm, hasta ahora todo bien. Entonces salió horriblemente mal. Sin comida por 8. 45 pm, así que decidí llamar por teléfono. A pesar de 3 llamadas telefónicas, excusas sobre los conductores, no había llegado comida a las 9. 30, así que les dije que lo olvidaran. Hay tantas otras buenas opciones chinas en el West End, que no perdería el tiempo y la noche esperando la entrega de alimentos de este equipo desesperado.

Food ordered via just eat promised at 20.30 now 21.18 and no food. Have phoned twice and they haven't a clue what is happening. Was told food was ready at 20.40. If it appears thinking cold and congealed. Extremely disappointed don't believe the hype, home delivery service is shocking.

Pedí curry pechuga de pollo, carne satay y arroz hervido. Llegó en buen tiempo suficiente pero me quedé muy decepcionado con la comida. La pechuga de pollo al curry era lo suficientemente apetecible, pero la carne en la carne satay fue tan duras como botas viejas y como para el arroz, que fue gloop. De verdad que era la peor comida china que he probado. . No recomendaría este lugar a cualquiera.

La primera vez que pedimos comida desde aquí y no pedir de ellos. Pedí porción de patatas fritas, pollo al curry y costillas corte dulce y amarga. Las patatas fritas eran correosos, frío y no hecha en el interior. Pollo al Curry era asquerosa, probado de procesadas. Las costillas dulce y agria eran 7 libras. 40 y creo que contenían unos tres costillas pequeña cortada, que eran grasos con carne muy poco. Todo lo que me dieron en la papelera. Yo le pegaba a mi para llevar normalmente en China Andy Maryhill Road.

Por dónde empiezo. Al pedir a la llegada de la comida, todo el proceso fue atroz. Me decidí a pedir desde aquí después de leer críticas excepcionales. Mi amigo y yo pedimos costillas a la barbacoa, la sal y la pimienta, pollo teriyaki costillas pinchos y patatas fritas. En primer lugar, tuvimos que pedir a través del teléfono, ya que el sitio web no funcionaba, conseguir esto no fue un problema para nosotros. El hombre en el teléfono era tan grosera diciéndonos que él prefiere que pagamos al conductor como él tenía clientes delante de él esperando a ser sentado. Me explicó que no era posible debido a que el problema con el sitio web y lo pedimos los datos de mi tarjeta. Le pregunté no repetir luego delante de él esperando, pero me dijo groseramente él. Le dije que me con los detalles repetirla tantas veces como él necesita ir, pero les dijo en voz alta muy alto. Me dijo después de pagar sería más de una hora y 10 minutos para la comida. La comida llegó después a menos de una hora, que estaba bien. Las costillas a la barbacoa eran tan llena de grasa que no podía comer. Las patatas fritas eran engañosos, crujientes por fuera pero la fritas era dura como una roca. La siguiente imagen muestra mis amigos sal y pimienta 'costillas'. Mirando hacia atrás es bastante cómico que este negocio piensa costillas deben cortarse. Intenté también, y me daban asco, parecía como comida para gato y eran simplemente terrones de altas de grasa. El teriyaki brochetas eran tan crudas fueron rosa, y la salsa probado más como salsa de soja teriyaki, que no eran consumidos después de una primera muestra. Es una lástima que debido a los precios elevados. No te fies de las críticas, nunca escribo comentarios pero esto tenía que ser escrito para advertirle de esta comida era espantoso cómo. Ahora ambos con vómitos.

Cayó en aquí para hacer un "nightshift tratan simplemente porque era la primera para llevar chino que pasó, y me alegro de haberlo hecho. Tienen un amplio menú con muchos platos desconocidos, pero fui por una antigua favorita en caliente, picante y agria sopa de pollo Kung Po, arroz frito, sal y pimienta patatas fritas.

Me dieron una tortilla de jamón y tengo que decir que este es el peor de todos. un bocado y fuimos hasta la papelera. El wok debe haber estado sucio el sabor era de sucios de aceite o el wok.

I just had a takeaway this weekend here for the first time. I ordered chicken fried rice and side of chips - the fried rice was nice but a little bit dry and the chips were really soggy. It was still good though, just not amazing. Would recommend if you were looking for a cheap Chinese takeaway on Byres road, it's in a great central location and there is also tables and chairs so you could have the option of sitting in if you'd prefer.

When this place is on its game, it's up there with the best takeaways - it has a range of more authentic dishes in addition to the standard Westernised fare. Also, the Salt & Pepper Munchie Box is a force of nature. When busy, however the quality can slip somewhat, as evidenced by some fairly ropey ribs on my last visit.Worth a try, if only to sample some of the more unusual things on the menu.

Called in on Sunday evening on way home from gig at Bar Gumbo.Had no intention of getting a chinese takeaway until we saw the menu in the window which had lots of traditional chinese dishes.Ordered sliced belly pork with chinese leaves and pepper, salt & chilli spare ribs - honestly the best chinese takeaway I have ever had. No "gloopy" sauces, just the tastiest food, amazing. Can't believe I haven't noticed this place before all the times I've been on Byers Road when visiting Glasgow.Staff really friendly and let us sit inside as it was raining until the meal was ready and we had our little dog with us so a huge bonus.Will definitely be back.

This is the second time I have used Home Wok and both times the food has been superb. The first time I used it was a couple of months back and the second time was last night. I had noticed there being a price increase between the two visits but imo the food is still worth it. Any further increase would be taking it too far though.Last night I opted for the 3 starters for £10.90 deal and chose the squid, tempura prawns and ribs, and in addition a shredded chicken in Thai sauce and fried rice. A free bag of prawn crackers were thrown it too. I can say each and every dish was delicious.I went in for collection and did notice a sign on the door stating that it will now be closed on Wednesdays.A must try

Recently they were closed for a Holiday &!I decided to use a well known place nearby to HW, the drop in the quality of the other place was the 'less than subtle' reminder that I needed.....HW serve up fabulous Food. We have been through most of the card and Loved every dish, our personal Favourites tho' are King Prawn Chowmein & Chilli szchesaun (sp). Great value meals. Delivery Service: they always quote 45-60 min (as a precaution) usually deliver in 30.

... Sometimes even too big! It really is worth the money. The worst: if you order online careful with the delivery. It came 30 mins later than expected!

We recently ordered a takeaway from home wok, There really are no words to describe how horrendously horrific the food was. The chicken was border line cooked, I felt sick at the sight of it, the sauce was congealed and cold.I am not normally lost for words and would normally sit and provide you with a full run down of each item but to be honest I don't think my stomach could handle it.All I can say is that there are plenty of other places to eat in Glasgow and I would 100% remove this from your list

One of those places. if its busy they don't care about your food and its bad.. if its quiet its one of the best Chinese's in Glasgow. but when its bad.... its bad!!!

This has to be the best Chinese in Glasgow. Fresh ingredients and some great classics. A more on the pricey side for Chinese take away but you get what you pay for!

I was working late last night and decided to pick up a Chinese on the way home for my wife and I. A friend recommended the Home Wok so I gave it a try.Upon entry I noticed how clean the unit was, the kitchen is open plan so you can see the chefs preparing the food. It smelled amazing!The menu is extensive and has a comprehensive section for traditional Chinese meals, as opposed to the sweet n sour pork balls and Kung Po you see in every Chinese takeaway! There was even a blackboard advertising the "Catch of the day" which had some prawn, fish and mussel dishes which sounded lovely.I opted for the Pork Pak Chei (traditional Chinese meal of shredded pork with Pak Choi and a hot and sour sauce) and my wife had requested chicken satay. Oh my goodness, these dishes were both simply excellent! They were entirely different in flavour and consistency (sometimes we find different Chinese takeaway meals to be suspiciously similar!) and both excellent.We shared a fried rice and noodles and the noodles, in particular, were terrific. Slightly thicker than usual, almost udon, and bursting with flavour.The staff were very friendly and gave me a free portion of prawn crackers when I'd enquired whether they came as standard or had to be ordered (the answer was the latter but that they'd throw some in).All in all, I can't fault the meal we had and will certainly return here for a takeaway in the near future in favour of Chow which we usually go to!

I had a bad experience with these guys a few years ago, with some lemon chicken that had been marinated in what seemed like Lemsip.However having ordered from here last week, the quality has drastically improved, the food is good, not too oily, well cooked and all together seems somehow more authentic.Really enjoyed their specials.

My favorite east asian restaurant in Glasgow at the moment. The smaller sharing portions are great, ribs especially. I can't resist the udon salt & pepper pork!
