Chow in Glasgow City

The fried pork with hot pepper and the beef in sour soup are very good. 20 per capita. It would be nice if there was some soup.

Just popped in with two friends and my dog for a sit down 2PM lunch. 3 mains, 2 rice and water to share. Very tasty and staff were incredibly friendly and efficient. Beef, chicken and pork - each with a different sauce all delicious and served quickly. Not the cheapest but you pay for the very high quality food and service. Will certainly be eating here again. Cash only (Or WeChat).

Absolutely revolting 110% would NOT recommend going the food is very undercooked and i had a very bad stomach was up all night sitting on the toilet

It was a rainy day in Glasgow and I wanted something hot and soup. Way and behold, I found Chow restaurant. I ordered Hot and Spicy soup which costs me only £4. Went home and had it with rice. It just tasted amazing and filled my stomach. The next day, I ordered fried Spring Rolls to take away. Costed me only £3.50 for 12 pieces. It is vegetarian and tasted sumptuous for an evening snack. Do give it a try if you’re around that area. 😋

The food is very poor, speaking as a Chinese. Very small sitting and a dog running about, question the hygiene standard. They refuse to take card payment, or bank transfer, has to be cash or Chinese yuan. Never go back again! This is a rubbish restaurant. The food is greasy and unhygienic. Don’t go there.

I'm a big fan of Chow and usually have a positive experience with my orders. However, this time, I noticed something a little off. The order arrived in an untied bag, and unfortunately, the food was cold. I ordered the salt and pepper ribs, which seemed to have fewer veggies than usual. Also, the vegetable spring rolls were delivered in their usual paper bag, but it got a bit wet due to the rain (maybe because the bag wasn't tied?).

Unfortunately the rice and chicken were particularly very oily, we couldn’t finish any of it. Shame, as normally the food is spot on.

This the best Takeout in the westend by far!

Unfriendly, and too expensive. Ordered a dish for the kids. Told them not to make it spicy. After a long wait the dish was full of chillies and blood red chilli oil. The staff suggested a cup of water to rinse the food. What a good idea.

Vegetable and noodles was like a soup. Veg in oyster sauce was watery as a minestrone soup.

Food has strange after taste. Driver didn’t ring buzzer and left food outside without knocking door. Poor service and strange tasting food.

I don't recommend it at all, smelly food and very impolite staff, once you finish eating the staff ask you to leave the table immediately as if you're having it for free. Plus they take only cash and if you didn't bring your Card with you then you call someone to come over and pay for you. Again very impolite staff, especially the old woman, I told her I just needed to rest for at least 5min to digest, and she said I'm sorry I have no other choice. This restaurant must be either shut or they make it only for take away.

Staff are very friendly, ordered a chicken satay skewer, taste very well.

Rice was dry, chicken was not fresh, the lemon sauce was bitter and the satay sauce was gloopy.

I purchase these items all the time. Today my egg fried rice where not to the normal quality. The rice were not the same. The rice were doughy, greasy and horrible. I binned the box of it. May not order again for a long time!

I have said this before, For allergen purpose it would be very helpful if it was mentioned what the sauces and dishes include. When calling the restaurant one person could kindly help me but only when speaking with the chefs in the kitchen. I ordered the salt & pepper ribs and veggie spring rolls to be 100% sure these were not made with fish/oyster ingredients. I would order this again but would like other options too

Yesterday I had dinner. Not recommend. I ordered roasted duck for price 12 pounds, not rice included. My expectations were receive some meat for this price. Unfortunately in the plate was trace of the meat and a lot of duck skin. You only can enjoy that leftover from Pekin duck if you never had good Chinese food

This food is absolutely delicious .. Best Chinese food I've tasted for a long time. Everything was so hot and fresh, and there was so much of it! Fantastic !! Friendly delivery guy, very polite. I would recommend trying this food because it's soooooo good! It's a 10/10 from me :)

Had a £9 Chinese fast food, including spicy stir-fried large intestine and rice. Very delicious foods. All staff are so friendly.

Waited beyond delivery time, phoned restaurant they advised orders were on way. 30 minutes later had to phone again. Eventually arrived and food lukewarm, chips soggy and hardly any sauce. Won't be using again.

Definitely recommend the 麻辣拌, which is packed with flavour, the sesame sauce is the highlight, you can get so many different types of veggies and meat in one dish, we all loved it so much! The fish in sauerkraut broth was great, sour and spicy as it should be. The sweet and sour pork was a bit too hard to eat and a bit too sweet for our liking. The fish spiced aubergine turned out to be sweet and sour style as well which was not what we expected. The dry hot pots are alright but not as good as some other places. Overall, a great selection, plenty seating and welcoming service.

Happy with the service provided as my daughter’s box meal was missing however for £7 do not choose this option. I wish I had taken the refund instead. They are the worst chicken balls we’ve had. Extremely chewy chicken meat. Wouldn’t use this restaurant again unfortunately.

Partner took me there to celebrate our engagement. Rubbish service. They have 2 menus, one for non Chinese and another for Chinese. The Chinese menu and meals served were full fresh and plenty while the English menu we got was rubbish and overrated. Even the non Chinese couple that came after us got same service, while the tables of the Chinese customers were filled with food and even wasted as they could not finish their meals. Never going there again!@@

Went here for lunch and seemed a basic standard Chinese menu. Over priced for a main plus rice that you would get rice,chips etc included. Only takes cash. Also just read another review saying there is a separate Chinese menu, wheres the fairness and equality. Theres my pal saying wonder what those people are having, dont see on menu. Service was good enough. Better places in vacinity.

Just received my order over priced for what I received, chicken fried rice was shocking a container full of rice with several pieces of tiny chicken I could hardly see, salt and chilli chips at £5.50 was a small portion of chips with raw chillis and onions tossed on top absolutely tasteless. Very poor chicken curry swimming in tasteless curry sauce, worse Chinese meal I’ve had in a long time and very expensive

Unfortunately won't be ordering again. It was awful and so overpriced for what I received. Everything was cold, the curry sauce was terrible even after being heated up. Its really went downhill.

The food is excellent! I would appreciate if the the option ingredients and which sauce the food is cooked with noted on the menu. I have a fish/oyster allergy and some of the dishes are cooked with fish/oyster sauce. When contacting the restaurant to query dishes the person(-s) I speak with don’t know and shout queries into the kitchen. I know others with food allergies would appreciate this also. Thank you.

1 tray curry rice and cold 13 quid ?

Tasty fresh food delivered quickly. I ordered on a weds evening about 7.20pm. Had salt n chilli tofu, fried rice and vegetables in garlic. Big portions and just what I was looking for. Better selection of vegetables than most restaurants I have ordered from and nicely cooked. Would definitely order again.

Everything's so good, authentic north east Chinese style, same as you can find in China, reminder me of my Mum's cooking at home. U got to see the Chinese Manu for authentic food , the English version Manu doesn't cook the same food. I wish this restaurant could open a branch in Manchester.

Frankly the food is amazingly great compares with other Chinese restaurants. However eating their food makes me sick almost every time, it’s 6am now and I’m dying in the toilet :(

Always order from here, however food seems to be getting worse every time, aswell as prices going up each time, will not be ordering from here again!

Possibly some of the best food I've eaten in my life. Great service, food is fresh , huge menu. Very clean.

Called 10 minutes after my order was supposed to arrive was told to wait 20 mins and that my delivery was next, called again, was told to wait 5 mins and hung up on before I could even mention refunding my order. When the driver arrived, they ignored my written instructions that explicitly stated I was self-isolating and brought the food to my apartment door.

Asked for “as soon as possible “ but told it would be an hour later. Fair enough & it was delivered in the time slot they said. We’re less than 5 minutes from the restaurant & the food was less than lukewarm. The chicken in batter was soggy & more batter than chicken. The food was very disappointing.

Been using this place for takeaway on and off for years. I don’t like writing negative reviews as appreciate it is someone’s business and livelihood. However, poor customer service I’m afraid drove to me this, along with an order that shouldn’t have been sent out. After waiting 1 hour and 20 minutes, I phoned restaurant to ask about order and all I got was how busy they were...no apology, or recognition of our wait. I was even asked if I wanted to come and pick it up. Eventually 2 hours later food arrived...cold, dried out and over spiced. I would complain to the restaurant directly, but given their response to my call about late delivery I didn’t think there would be much point. Management of Chow should invest in customer service ...how a negative experience is dealt with can mitigate customers writing reviews such as this.

Food always been very good in Chow. We did sit in. More cafe like than restaurant since pandemic. Geared towards take out. Service was very quick.

Nice and tasty food, we all enjoyed our meal. Delivery was fast, even faster than promised on the webs site. I highly recommend the place for home deliveries.
