Very quick and hot best ribs all good

Food was really cold and they did not answer very pissed off and my own fault I ordered tonight and all I can say is WOW DISGUSTING complained and boy on phone so rude. AVOID

Been going here for a while, never had any problems. Food is lovely, quick service and always busy. I won’t go anywhere else.

Such a great take away, taste amazing! Affordable too, which makes this our go to takeaway spot, most other Chinese restaurants we can't afford these days!

Very good food, didn't disappoint at all, there was lots of flavour and the food seemed to be very freshly made the chicken was one of my favourite parts, absolutely delicious even my mate Sheryl agreed! i will definitely be back for more chicken (ps watch out jill you aint getting my chicken again i will beat you up!!!)

Food is cooked quickly and tastes great. You don't often find a 5 star hygiene rated Chinese takeaway so this is a big draw to Happy House. Good Vale for money especially the share box starter.

I've given this place so many chances as it's just round the corner from home but the last straw was my last experience where I had to pull a big black hair out of my mouth whilst eating my tasteless food. I'm bald before anyone asks if it could've been mine!

We order from here for years and food is always flavourful and delicious. We spatially love the sweet and sour chicken, chicken in satay sauce. Chicken chow mien. Generally all dishes are lovely and fresh made. The best chinese in the town.

Used Happy House for many years. My brother Mike recommended this Chinese takeaway. Always polite, helpful who ever you place your order with. Food is very good, never a problem.

Ordered food on Saturday night, chicken chow mein was dry and tasted burnt and seemed reheated. Saturday night stomach pains !! Won’t be going back there again

I wouldn't give them any stars! If you want a stressful evening, STAY AWAY from HAPPY HOUSE!!! Absolutely disgusting service. From the moment I placed my order, the male that took my order was miserable and cannot be bothered to talk. Every time i asked him a question, he huffed. When my order arrived, it was wrong. When I called back to complain, the same male was very rude, unhelpful and was very insulting. Clearly has no customer service skills. He then passed me over to the manger, and explained that the order was incorrect. The replacement order arrives, and again it was wrong! I then called her back, and she questioned me, asking me if i knew the difference between a leg and breast! How dare she question me! What kind of customer service is this? She clearly needs to improve her management and customer services. Been using them for years, but toady will be my last! Beside the appalling service received, food has also gone down hill. Duck was dry, and the veg noodles were very spicy. Will be happy to use Longs! They NEVER ever said sorry. They seem to blame me, not themselves.

ordered chicken chow mein was cold n look old and dry also got Salt and pepper chicken it was so dry like it was 2 days old and been microwave had roast pork curry which the pork was so tough n such an unusual shape could not even eat it never ate something that was so hard to describe rip off

Placed a take away order which they got wrong, when I called to get it changed I was accused of getting the order wrong - even though we don’t eat the dish they delivered. After being told I owed them extra money and that I will have to wait for the dish I was then accused of being difficult when I said that the rest of the meal would be cold by the time the correct dish would be delivered and therefore they should replace the whole meal as the error was theirs. Customer service was non existent- incredibly rude!! Been coming here for years but will never return if this is how they treat people. I have witnessed their rudeness once before when collecting an order, so I shouldn’t have been surprised how they were to me!! Take my advice, there are plenty of other good Chinese take aways in the area - use one of them!!!!

Placed an order which they got wrong. When I phoned them they tried to insist that I had made the mistake, even though we don’t eat chow mein so can’t see how it was our fault. Begrudgingly they said they would replace it but not straight away and that I owed extra money because the dish we had ordered cost more. I replied that as the error was theirs and we will have to wait for the other dish to be replaced then they should replace all of the dishes otherwise the rest of the meal will be cold. I was then accused of being difficult and they won’t replace it if it’s been touched- which it hadn’t. I said if the dish was coming straight away we will keep the rest but they said they couldn’t guarantee that. They should take some time to learn about customer service! This is not the only Chinese take away in the area so what makes them feel so superior!!! Been coming here for years but will never use them again!!! Will use the other take aways in the area.

Never had bad meal from here. Tonight disappointed. As with most places these days, lot less food and less quality for more expense. Quarter duck got 3 pancakes out of it. Rest of dishes edible but average. Let down

I ordered food from here the woman was very rude and I also found some sort or insect in my rice and she shrugged it off as tho it was normal I will never go here again

I recently ordered from this place for Chinese takeaway and upon their arrival we had not yet been able to retrieve money for payment of the food. We were expecting delivery a lot later and they turned up early. We quickly explained that we quickly were going to run up to an ATM up the road so we could pay. The driver offered to wait in the car but after 2 minutes he said he couldn't wait as he was ready to go home after his shift. He decided to give us 10 minutes before leaving but he made the comment of who is going to pay me if I wait. I did not appreciate the treatment and attitude when communicating and dealing with us as a customer and thought someone in a service position would have better people skills or show more understanding and patience. We will not be ordering food from them again.

IMPOSSIBLE to order!! I’ve eaten here before and the food is nice. But why such a struggle to get through to?? Twice now we’ve not been able to actually get through to order. Extremely frustrating.

I have been ordering from happy house for years and have to say it’s the best local Chinese takeaway. My son is a very picky eater and absolutely loves ordering from here. Quick delivery (they say 45 mins but usually only take about 25-30 mins) … They always try to accommodate my quirky mix’s/food requests (and these can be pretty strange sometimes lol!) and food always arrives fresh & hot. Personally, I would definitely recommend ordering from here. The only downside is the £1 delivery fee compared to the majority of the other local Chinese takeaways who deliver within a certain mile radius for free

Due to Golden Phoenix being closed we tried Happy House. Utterly flavourless food. Had Pot Noodles that were better than the chow mein ! The curry was thin, watery and tasted of curry powder and corn flour. Would have been better off getting a microwave Chinese from Tesco.

We have ordered yesterday for the first time and it was absolutely delicious. We had tried 6 dishes and they all amazing.

Had a family take away from this place we use when I come down to the area to see my family, portions are a good size and food was lovely, best Chinese in the area.

I ordered from the A1 and swapped the chicken for prawns, it has now put me off from ordering ever again. If you cannot be bothered to devein prawns properly or at all you shouldn't even be open. That is disgusting.

I don't know this area nor visited before. Ok, Picked up & had a takeaway from this place. Went to tuck into it as SOON as I took the lid off the "Egg fried rice" I knew it looked & would taste terrible. The rice was very bright yellow I needed sunglasses to spoon it out, it looked a fake egg rice could have been ALOT BETTER! I've never seen anything like that. Moving on to the "Chicken" ginger & spring onion. The "chicken" AGAIN looked not like the chicken I know & taste this AGAIN looked cheap & fake. The only good thing about it, was it was hot food. All in all I paid for eating this BAD food 2am this morning. No Thanks for a 2nd time eating here.

Brilliant chinese food and take aways. They are not in deliveroo but does phone orders. Ask for spicyness if you want it to have bit of a kick.

This is one of my family's favorites restaurants! Such great homestyle authentic Chinese food, makes me feel like I'm back in China. We eat here quite often, every few weeks or so and order from the family menu, which is a great deal. Some of my faves are the seafood tofu soup, yang chow fried rice, seafood tofu hot pot, and anything kung pao

Always had lovely food from here. Travel from Broxbourne to go and pick it up. Fresh , Hot and so tasty .

Ordered from here for over 10 years and never had an issue until today. Chicken chow mein was dry and was as if the chicken had been added on top rather than its usual mixture, chicken was dry and no flavour. Rice was hard, cooked hours before served. Pancake rolls are larger than normal but the pastry was soggy rather than the usual crisp. Honestly not sure what has happened tonight, new chef maybe, if that is the case then I am sorry but I shall not be ordering again. I have never minded paying the price (a little more expensive than most Chinese restaurants in Cheshunt) but not for food that is not enjoyable, which I am afraid todays was.

We love this takeaway. Ingredients are super fresh, not overly oily and the satay sauce is amazing! It's a really great price and all the staff are always so lovely. Looking forward to our next order.

I live on the canal and whenever I'm moored near Cheshunt I make sure I get at least one takeaway from Happy House! Some of the tastiest black bean with tofu I've ever had, and the satay mixed vegetables are really special, quite different to others I've had. The tofu is always lovely (just ask for it even though it's not on the menu) and the veg is perfectly cooked, fresh, and varied -- green pepper, mushroom, broccoli, bamboo, water chestnut, Chinese cabbage. I love it, and they are so nice there. Always organised and clean too. Thank you Happy House :)

Waiting for over an hour and a half and when it arrived it was barley warm..

I tend to go here when I can't be bothered to wait for delivery as I live round the corner. Portions are a bit small compared to my usual Chinese, and some dishes can be a bit naff in terms of flavour. Average all round, not great, but certainly not bad.

I popped in here on bank holiday Sunday and was served by such a lovely lady. I explained i only had 15 minutes then had to jump on the train. She helped me select a meal that would work in the timeframe... and they completely delivered I had Rice + Beef with Green Peppers in Black Bean Sauce + Sweet & Sour Chicken balls it was all delicious! Total £6.70 meal for one exceptional value... thank you so much for the beautiful food! One Love Jonathan

clearly a racist terrible shop my son when there he has terrible asthma cant wear a mask without getting headaches and coughing 2 people walked in when my son walked in he mixed race was asked for a mask while the 2 white english gentleman that walked in with him made a order in the womens face not behind a protective screen with no mask and was not questioned he was fine with being asked its just why wasnt everyone asked. im applaud by this shop iv used it for year will never use again

I placed an order on 5th December. I ordered Hong Kong Style Chicken which is normally in batter, what arrived was not even edible. It was like over cooked, dried out chicken with no batter whatsoever. I rang and complained to be told they needed to see it first and someone would come.i waited up until gone 10pm and noone came. So we decided to eat the rest, there was a black hair in my rice and tiny amount of satay chicken that i ordered and paid for. The usual size is bigger. Clearly knocking customers.

Phone seems like it’s off the hook a lot. I’ve spent over an hour ringing and it’s constantly engaged… and its not the first time! They can’t be that bothered about business. Time to find another takeaway who will answer the damn phone!

Been having Chinese from here for years, we live out of the area but found this is the best Chinese around. Always have a good meal from here can’t complain about any of the food here and we always enjoy it. Would be a five other than the bloke I spoke to on the phone is quite rude and miserable.

I live 1.7 miles from the takeaway and the website states it will deliver within 3 miles. Finally completed my £50 order to then be told they won't deliver. Wrong information on website very misleading. What would have happened if I had placed the order online?

I’v ate at happy house for couple of years and always been nice, unfortunately I ordered 2 days ago and actually got sick the next day. REALLY disappointed and it made my Unc Ill also both vomiting and u know what. Really expected better. We’re all struggling in lock down but cutting corners is totally not acceptable and will never order from here again

Food left on doorstep no knock nothing luckily I found it but no idea how long it had been there. Staff don't care either which is absolutely shocking as customer service is and should be a big deal. Im also questioning their authenticity of their chicken. Its a very weird texture and tastes nothing like chicken either altho i might add the chicken in chow mein is actually chicken..I'm certainly not the first person to notice this either. If you want a decent Chinese with exceptional customer service there is much better places.

i went on a saturday evening and with wy order i bought a portion of chicken balls.when my daughter and i started to eat the chicken balls they were pink(raw).when i took them back and showed the lady behind the counter she argued that this was the marinade that makes them pink.(do you even marinade a chicken ball?).i know when chicken is raw,and they were raw.will never go back there again.no refund no exchange.

happy house ... that’s ironic, i usually don’t order from this chinese but seen as it had decent reviews i tried it, me and my sister ate the same thing although i ate chicken chow mein and since i’ve ate it i’ve came down with all the symptoms off food poisoning! very very disappointed and even more now that it’s closer to new years! won’t be ordering from ‘happy house’ ever again!

Food always wicked tasty the best in chestnut but the guy who takes the Oder a propa drop who don’t listen and if you don’t talk like a drip he can’t take your order probably so you’ll pay your good money not to even eat your take away thanks again you drop your one job take order’s and you get it wrong

Ordered for delivery a few times from happy house and I still think its the best local chinese. Really tasty, well cooked good portion size. Love the egg fried rice, prawns and chicken balls. Sometimes can take a while but they are busy so just wait for the excellent food to arrive!

As a chef I usually lower my expectations to a low so I'm not as disappointed when I spend upwards of £50 and then get garbage slap dash cowboy cooked food that had no love.Usually Im disappointed with low expectations....which shows the level of quality....this is a shining 10/10 No just-eat to over work them and ruin their quality of work.More business can mean a loss of business if you can't keep everyone happy, and with a place like this which is kept busy without just eat and it's kept the quality level ....that's a keeper ...just eat ruins places sometimes. ...this one....menu is now on my fridge

This has got to be the worst chinese takeaway I have ever had the displeasure of tasting. Every single item delivered was oily, salty and foul tasting. I am sorry happy house but I had to leave this negative review because I have never been so extremely disappointed with the quality of any food prior to today. Please take this feedback constructively and try and improve.

Ordered with high hopes based on a recommendation, was told it would take 45-50 minutes but it arrived in 20. Food was clearly reheated, very stale and oily. Also some of the strangest variations of usual dishes I’ve ever seen. Shrivelled hard prawns and squid, cold hard rice, stale prawn crackers saturated in oil, one or two dry prawns in the very oily prawn toast. The food literally had to be spat out. Do not know how they can get away serving reheated, bad food. Do not recommend.

Been going to this takeaway for over 20 years and have always had top quality food every time.The staff are always welcoming and the service is very quick, even if I order it to be delivered the staff are always happy and pleasant.I would recommend the Barbecue spare ribs in sauce they are fantastic and the curry sauce is so tasty, all the food is of a high standard and I won’t highly recommend this takeaway.

The way the female, (I can only presume she is the owner) speaks to her staff and customers is atrocious and completely unfair! Won’t ordering from here again!

This is a gem of a takeaway. Really nice food, we've been using it for years and they have always provided well cooked, tasty food. I really like the salt and pepper beancurd. Well worth a try. Closed on Tuesdays.

Buy the occasional take away here, however the curry brought last week was very " watery" and had hardly any flavour
