Living round the corner from this shining light in the otherwise drab ambience of its neck of the woods, I'd always meant to go in and see if it matched up to its reputation and all the intersting things they serve and do, but never quite managed to get round to doing so. So having finally found an hour or so floating spare to take the plunge I was mighty glad to find the Hppy Heart gleams with perfection and is indeed as every bit as good as those in the know say it is. The taste of my vegeterian breakfast went deeper than than the well-cooked and prepared, value-for-money, mouth-watering yum-yum on the plate. The quality and care of the ingredients and how they were cooked, a sense of pride of who and what they are and what their food says about it and them and a sense of the cafe's place in the community was also there to be savoured. And I did.It was a wonderful and delicious breakfast, served by a personable and chatty chef, who clearly cared about his cullinary expertise and how it was presented, percieved and went down. What the Happy Heart offers goes beyond the plate and the stomachs they contendly fill. They act as a very welcome community hub with many open-mic nights, groups and restuarnt pop-up nights also on the menu for those who crave someting differnt and out of the norm. There's a real and genuine warmth glowing from the walls and mismatched decor and bits and bobs, that don't go really match but fit together perfectly as a wonderful slightly ramshackle whole and I certainly shall not be not getting round to coming here again in the future. This is the sort of warm-hearted community minded establishment that adds colour and value to our colurless, humdrum precincts and parades and we really ought to be going when we can and support them. We'd miss them terribly and lose much more than a tasty vegeterian breakfast if they weren't there. The gap left behind would be deeper-seated and more profound than a mere empty shopfront.

Absolutely love coming here. The atmosphere is very relaxed, service is super-friendly, the food is healthy and tasty, the prices are totally reasonable, the home-baked stuff is so fantastically different and delicious, and it’s a great place to hold events and really make the most of being part of a local community. Give it a try!

Great stop just off the canal for a cup of tea, a snack or a meal. I even like putting in a few jigsaw pieces.

Little gem of an eatery, with a delicious line of very tasty and also healthy items which, as the name suggests, will keep your heart happy. Opens evenings sometimes for select groups and activities

I really wanted to love this little cafe as it’s local but I’ve never been in before but I wasn’t overwhelmed. I decided to visit for a breakfast mid week. I had bacon eggs, toast and tomatoes. It was a bit of a wait and was no more than average but didn’t break the bank at £5. I did not like the coffee as it tasted as if it was from a machine and very weak. I didn’t like the brown sauce from Aldi. I was the only person in here for a while then it got quite busy. They cater here for groups and community evenings which I think is great to have around here. The local knitting party arrived as I eating! They do sandwiches, panini, cakes and a whole array of teas which all seemed reasonably priced.

Been coming here for a few months. I have brought friends, family and solo. Every time, it has been enjoyed by all ages. There are games, jigsaws, books, toys for all ages, and always a warm welcome. Reasonably priced food and drinks including vegan and vegetarian. If you prefer to be quiet you will be left in peace. There are free hugs available too!! What more could you ask.

Oohhhh...had a lovely breakfast at this great cafe in Knowle. Service was great and food came out at a very high standard. Drinks were also great, will be back again when in Knowle!!

Always nice fresh bread, the chicken corrie is especially good, the only minor quibble is they could do with more selections of cakes and its pot luck if you can park in knowle as the free 30 mins cp's get full up after 11am . Otherwise you can not go wrong with any choice from the menu - its all very nice - which is nigh praise from myself as i can usually find some fault with a cafe menu ,but not this one - its the number one cafe in knowle .
