Delivery time as brilliant! Food very disappointing however. Decided to do away with whatever passed for melted plastic (pancakes) and ate the duck with garnish ‘deconstructed’. Didn’t touch the prawn crackers as the sauce looked more suited to keeping the car oiled up.

I’ve been ordering from Happy Garden for years and sadly the quality has been declining. Today’s meals were nearly inedible. I ordered beef udon noodles and right away after opening the container I was hit to the face by the gone off smell. More bad

Worst Chinese I’ve had in a long time. Hot n sour soup was so hot it was inedible, and I like hot food so for me to say it’s too hot says something. I ordered over £70.00 worth of food and every dish was poor.

Food cold and tasted alwful .not a fresh taste and not convinced it was chicken .didnt look or taste like it . Lumpy cold rice and stale tasting curry which was oily and same with the noodles . Not happy at all and expensive.

First time calling in to order food here, the waiter was very friendly and recommended their best-selling dishes, such as sweet and sour chicken balls, salt and pepper fries, crispy chili beef, crispy seaweed and Prawn pad Thai and udon noodles. We ordered all of them. Very delicious!

Was a bit worried after seeing the reviews but food was delivered quickly and was piping hot. Rice was a bit stodgy but chicken in black bean sauce and crispy shredded beef was lovely

The order was late, when we ordered the delivery time was 45-60 - as soon as we ordered it went to over 90 minutes, if we had known this at the time we would not have ordered, the landline did not work either

The quality of the food has gone downhill rapidly. Most of the dishes were 50-60% white onion so I won’t be ordering from these guys again. It’s a shame but they used to do really good food.

To start this message , I wanted to address how customers are meant to feel satisfied with the product and customer service. I was only satisfied with the food. The customer service is absolutely appalling and genuinely disgusts me to think restaurants function to speaking to customers in such manner. The food was 2.5 hours LATE. When we complained the lady was disruptive and to summarise practically told me to do one. If you want to be treated like scum , go ahead and order from here. Cheltenham takeaways are on a spiral downfall and this is just the beginning. Will NEVER order from here again.

The food was delicious. Arrived on time and tasted really fresh and tasty . I would definitely order again and recommend them .i love chinese curry so ordered the chicken curry i asked them to make it extra spicy which they did and it was very good .

the noodles were nice but the curry wasnt great the curry sauce tasted like one of those you buy and mix with water didnt really resemble chinese curry. . wasnt 2 happy with the curry at all

This used to be a great takeaway but they have been cutting back on the meat provided by using smaller cuts over the months which is a real shame so I shall try elsewhere in future

Usually have no problems and have a lovely meal, but this time they failed to deliver my order, and when I called the restaurant all they said was that it was out for delivery. Despite it leaving the restaurant over 2 hours ago....

Price has gone up massively while portions have halved. Eg. Prev 1 bag prawn crackers was about £1.50. Now you pay £3 and it’s half a bag. Or beef with black bean sauce was £5.50 now £8 for a box half the size. I know everywhere is going up but this is just greed. Top that off half the time the order comes missing bits. Used to be good but just gone right down. Shame

Can’t comment on atmosphere however the food was absolutely awful. Cold. Hard freezing chips. Curry was gelatinous and cold….also had a strange taste. Ordered through UberEats so the restaurant couldn’t be of help. Spoke to Preedy / Prudy on the phone. Will never order from here again. £70 for bin fuel and when 1 week post partum and just wanting something ‘fun’ to give my kids and family while I don’t feel 100%, this has utterly taken the mick.

Gross, curry sauce was practically solid

Ordered a takeaway from here for my mothers birthday it arrived quick but it was absolutely revolting. The sweet and sour sauce is brown?!? And the egg fried rice is barely fried leaving it full of half cooked balls of white rice. Called up letting them know what had happened and got an incredibly rude and uninterested lady on the phone who said she could not help me at all. Asked very nicely for a refund of the food as it’s genuinely inedible however apparently that couldn’t be done?? Do not order here if u want a nice Chinese it all went in the bin.

Original delivery time changed from 18:10-19:35 to 20:10. I tried to call the restaurant repeatedly as suggested but no answer. My meal finally arrived at 20:30. The ribs were almost inedible as they very salty.

Don't order from them. Took over two hours and ran in and said was on way and then cancelled order. Rude guy on phone. Amateurs. Probably using shop as drug front.

Food arrived early but was basically cold, the sweet and sour sauce was lumpy like it had been sat out a while and the rice was mushy, the chicken chow mein was dry and the spring rolls were soft. Not the first issue with this place so will be the last time I order

Order was delivered early which was good. however everything apart from the chow mein was stone cold and needed to go in the oven to reheat. the salt and chilli chips were just french fries with a few slices of chilli and no real seasoning so won't be ordering those again. on the whole once reheated the food was tasty especially the Singapore chow main which was spicier than it had veen before which for us was great.

We had a take away from here and it was the worst Chinese food we have ever tasted. Sauces were thick and gloopy, noodles were thick and looked like worms and hard to swallow. We actually couldn’t eat much of it and threw it away - £75 of food 🙈

Order arrived early, which worked for us. Food was piping hot and very tasty. Our first time ordering from Happy Garden, and we were very impressed. The curry sauce was a bit too spicy, but very minor point.

Every dish that we ordered was very flavourful and cooked great. I have noticed that when ordering beef dishes they can be hit and miss from Chinese takeaways with the meat being a little too chewy at times however it was soft and delicious. The flavours of the food was gorgeous too. My partner was also extremely satisfied by all that we ordered and so shall be ordering again! The delivery time was quicker than estimated by 20 mins and the driver was very friendly, all round a great experience!

Sad experience with what was a favourite. Wrong order delivered early. Let them know it was wrong and was told it wasn't repeatedly and I must have the right order. This went on for far too long without apology. They offered to pick up the incorrect food without offeringto bring the dishes i actually ordered and had to be convinced to do this. Disappointed with the service received this evening, sadly.

Worst Chinese I have ever had, ate some out of pure hunger. The lemon sauce has a weird taste to it, the chicken has a texture of some that was fried on friday and been left in a dry bay marie for the weekend, and the special fried rice is weird

This was probably some of the best Chinese food I have ever had... the hot & sour soup in particular, was outstanding... sooo fresh and sooo much flavour and seasoned to perfection... would highly recommend.

1/2 crispy duck turned up as a tub of scraps?! Hardly any recognisable pieces of duck. Absolutely appalling, especially for £22! What a joke.

This is my favourite Chinese in Cheltenham (I've tried several). I like the seaweed, BBQ ribs and chicken balls. I always order delivery and they have never let me down. They deserve more than the 3.8 stars they currently have. I've ordered more than 20 times in the last 4 years so I have a good sample size for this review.

Ordered a meal to be delivered on 9th August to be delivered around one mile from the restaurant. Paid £16.78 including delivery charge. Order number 1212. Meal was never delivered. Phoned the restaurant 16 times that evening but nobody was picking up the telephone. Explained on their website that the meal was never delivered. Sent this 10 times seeking a refund. Not even an acknowledgement. I then emailed them with a copy of the payment receipt and order. I sent the email on 30 separate occasions and explained that unless they contacted me to apologise and refund the £16.78 I would put this review on Trip Advisor. 4 weeks later - no meal. No apology. No refund. If you like paying for meals and don’t even receive them and get zero customer service you will love Happy Garden in Cheltenham’s High Street.

Food was shocking and cold, will not be using this restaurant again.

I had high hopes for the King Prawn and Squid Ginger and Onion Curry, expecting a burst of flavors and a satisfying blend of seafood with the warmth of ginger. Unfortunately, what I received was a far cry from that. The prawns were rubbery and overcooked, making them tough and unpleasant to eat. The squid, typically tender and flavorful when cooked right, suffered the same fate—chewy and lacking any real taste. The seafood felt more like an afterthought than the star of the dish. The curry sauce itself was disappointingly bland. I expected the ginger to bring some brightness and warmth, but it was barely noticeable. Instead of a rich, layered curry, I got a thin, watery sauce that was overly reliant on onions without much depth of flavor. The balance was completely off, with no real harmony between the ingredients. Overall, I left the meal feeling unsatisfied and disappointed, hoping that the restaurant will rework this dish to match the potential it

Always judge on a basic… Indian - dhansak…. Chinese - crispy shredded beef. My two favourites. This must have been the worst crispy shredded beef ever! Chewy, tasteless and cold. Singapore noodles were ok but my vegetarian daughter ate some not realising they contained meat! Never again!

I really hate to say this but I didn’t enjoy it at all I ate about two mouthfuls and gave up. My son did not do much better maybe because it’s a Saturday night and was busy but the food was cold. Chips rock hard, duck terrible and same with spring rolls. The sweet and sour was bland. I’m sorry to say I would not order again felt really annoyed.

Sadly after a bad day today the duck seemed dry and hard and cold 😔I doubt very much I'd get a refund as that's all my money, wasn't the best meal. Delivery was good though.

Disgusting food, inedible. Mushroom omelette looked like scrambled egg, and tasted only of soy sauce the chips were solid all the way through. Complained but staff were not at all helpful, told I could have a replacement but it would be exactly the same. Don't waste your money obviously the chef needs cooking lessons.

Late and the food is all covered in the same dark brown sauce there was hardly any roast duck just a few slices and many pieces of fatty skin and all hidden amongst a full tub of onion slithers again truly disappointing being of Chinese hesritage and upbringing in Singapore I can truly say this was a far cry from the refreshing Chinese roast duck I was fed from child if one wishes to eat good Chinese food that is not wheighed down and drowned in sweet brown gravy and onions do not order my warni

not great. I've eaten in this Chinese and it was superb but there food to the door is completely different. maybe it's rushed I don't know but it's not the same as eating in.eating in I could never fault it.
