Happy Eating in County Durham

If I could leave a 0 star I would my partner and me ordered dinner for him to then spit out a peace of RAW uncooked chicken pictured below.

I’m afraid I’m loathe to leave a poor review , but the prices of the food today , I have to say , we use the happy eating regularly , tonight we ordered chicken curry rice and chips The chicken was like cheap rubber , the chips were hard , as if they were cooked 2 days ago , and to have to pay £11.80 for the food to go in the bin , I’m afraid we will be changing our Chinese company next week .

Hair in meals! Very unclean! Staff rude! Premises DIRTY! Not Covid safe with drivers walking in and out, waiting by the food prep area! Avoid at all costs

As a regular customer at Happy Eating I was appalled at the response I recieved when I rang after our meal to say there were no prawns in my House Special curry. This was not the first time either. As from tonight I will no longer buy from them. The lady who owns the shop needs to send the female at the desk/ phone for customer training, she will will be detrimental to your repretation and business. No apology from her, made me out to be a liar.

ordered early to avoid delay via bigfoodie online, waited over 1 hour for food, when it finally arrived we didnt get the right order things missing, we ordered roast chicken and believe me when i say it was burnt beyond belief it was so dry even the thick lumpy gravy did nothing for it. it also came with mushrooms onions and peas that were not stated on the menu. roast chicken more like napalmed chicken. then the house special curry had chicken that was slimy and had a jelly like texture and the sauce tasted so sweet it was not edible. whole order got wasted and flung in the bin. tried numerous times to contact the takeaway and was constantly engaged until almost 90 mins later i managed to get through to make my complaint. this is where it gets worse, i tried to explain how bad the food was and what was missing only to be told "i don`t have time to take your complaint i should have rang sooner to get it sorted" i had tried for over 90 mins to get my complaint addressed, and she then said "ill put you down for a free roast chicken next time" trust me when i say there wont be a next time. the food was that bad even my dog turned its nose at it. the only thing that was edible was the fried rice this place needs a good inspection to make it meet health and safety standards. i don`t knwo where they sourced their produce from but they need to rethink about how its prepared and cooked for the small amount i ate i felt so ill afterwards i want everyone else to knwo how bad this place is avoid this place like the plague

I live above a pub and when ordering always ask for delivery to contact via phone so I can collect as we are a very good lead business. OMG to call just eat and complain to a call from this restaurant accusing me of false bias. And a driver not having any credit on phone. Seriously the worst service ever received food delivered to busy bar who to their honour brought it to the flat when they could. Cold and about 1 hour late due to delivery error ( comment left in instructions for delivering food and calling when at the site) and they claim delivered in time to location but hey I paid not the pub and when I received it I had to microwave it to make it consumable given I was re heating RICE. To then gEt a call from the most obnoxious lass saying delivered correct and in time but cuz driver had no credit not a reasonable excuse to leave food at a bar.

Stupid dosser of a women had an attitude over the phone, all I asked for was why don't you have the option of a munchy box on just eat, when all other Chinese takeaways in Sunderland offer this option. And I have had attitude off her before when I was on the phone a few moths ago. Will not be using you again and I will be telling all of my friends not to order from you. Your customer service is despicable. Have a nice life.

Amazing food and really well priced. Can not fault in any way. Certainly my favourite place to have a cheeky takeout in Seaham.

Used to be excellent a few years ago. I've had three consecutive bad takeaways. I like to give places a second chance but this one is terrible. Never again

They delivered the wrong food and missed a dish off the order. Had to go collect the missing/Wrong food so we didn't have to wait another hour. Found a nice long dark hair in my food. Not good.

The place has just got worse and worse over the years, was ones really nice but the muck is just disgustin. the shop. Rotten apple on the floor, minging fish tank, people and kids behind counter around food. When I got my meal I put my folk in and could see a black dot, normally I wouldn’t even think but I decide to see what it was and out comes this never ending black curly hair, thankfully I never ate any but it was imbedded within the food so I can’t imagine how many times people won’t have realised, when taken back no apology of any sort. Rather eat off the floor.

Oh dear this was my favorite takeaway a few years ago, but how things have gone changed. After it had been open a year I stopped going in as all the delivery drivers were going and standing in the food prepping area,coughing and sneezing! Now after a few years I decided to give it another try, never again! Rancid fish and Terrapin tanks on the counter, filthy floors, waiting area and dirty paintwork. All just needs a scrub but I guess they just don’t care! Some of the food is just ok but others a far nicer and cleaner. If you don’t believe this review just go down and go in, then decide if you would order and feed your family from such a toilet bowl AVOID AVOID AVOID you’ve been warned

Tried this place last year all I can say is I won’t use another Chinese but here great value for money look forward to my Saturday Chinese keep it up guys 👍🏻

Piping hot food with loads of chicken in all the chicken dishes. Too much to eat! Very tasty, so left overs for the next days lunch, and it was still tasty! Will go there again. Delicious.
