Absolutely delicious and fresh. Plenty of gluten free options. Such a nice little restaurant with lovely staff.

We love the food at Hao Wei! We usually order a take away, but really enjoy eating in the bistro too! We had a really nice evening there on Tuesday. Our hosts Michelle and Leyi were polite, friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. There was plenty of food which was fresh and extremely tasty. We were able to have different dishes than we would usually order to take away. We love that they also cook a variety of gluten free and vegan dishes. Our parents are now planning for a celebration in November and they cannot think of a better place to bring family and friends.

The stir-frying is done with wok gas and the scallops are steamed in a moderate amount of time. The sauce and side dishes for the duck slices are good. It would be ideal if the meat could be made a little oilier. The waiter smiled broadly, thank you.

Honestly one of the best Chinese takeout I have had in ages I have tried a few of the other local ones none compare to here. Highly recommend

We dined here in a small group, and I ordered the crispy beef in yellow sauce with cashews.. the amount of sugar in this dish was unbelievable.. I felt like I was eating dessert than my main meal. The service was either quick (taking unfinished glasses of wine and dishes away) or too slow (had to wait so long for the bill). Overall the quality of food was not great and the service was average.. Won’t be going back any time soon.

Best Chinese restaurant for gluten free options I've been able to find.

Spicy Fries was extremely delicious. However, egg fried rice was not authentic. It takes like soy sauce with rice. I could not see any egg in it.

This is the best restaurant I have been to in Bristol especially for gluten free. The staff were excellent and were so helpful with suggestions and the service was quick and courteous. I cannot fault this restaurant. Good potion sizes, lots of choice and the food was so tasty and reasonably priced. What’s not to like! Will become a regular for sure.

Whenever I go to a Chinese Restaurant I order won ton soup, so I can tell fairly quickly what the quality of the food will be. The soupe was delicious. The main, half a duck with pan cakes, sauce and cucumber (you make your own rolls) was perfect. Service could be a bit more attentive, but very good price/performance.

It hit the spot as far as Cantonese food is concerned. We went with a Trip Advisor review. We ordered beef noodles, leafy veg with garlic, hot and sour soup. All good but ate too quick to take photos.

Restaurant opens at 5pm. Walked in at 5:15pm on a Saturday afternoon, maybe 4 people in the restaurant, so practically empty … asked for a table for one but was told that they were fully booked. Very weird but ok. Went to the Italian next door called Pepenero and when I came out just now some 45mins later and Hao Wei was still empty. Their loss, but very strange behaviour. No idea what the food was like … but my advice would be make sure you book if you want to taste it 🤷‍♂️

Today we ordered food to pick up beef in curry sauce was not edible to eat it was just the tendons and crumbled like a sole and half portion is a onion Additionally, one black bean sauce was missing.

Absolutely the best Chinese in Bristol. Food is by far the best I have ever eaten. Have eaten in as a diner on occasion also and the service is excellent, all staff lovely and professional. Highly recommend this restaurant 👌

Came here for dinner with 3 friends and the food was delicious. Some unusual options but all the favourites too. The food was fresh and the portions were great too. The spring rolls were delicious. A nice addition was the section of desserts. The lemon sorbet was absolutely delicious!!

First time and won’t be my last. Just ordered takeaway for delivery and I have to say the food turned up hot and very tasty. It’s hard to find great Chinese and I have one I go to all the time down the road but fancied a change and now I have two great ones . The delivery driver was really friendly and very polite unlike the many scooter outlets that deliver.

I went in person to order so I could check to make sure things would be safe for me to eat (so many GF options available - wanted to check cross contamination etc) the young girl who I first spoke to wasn’t able to answer my questions but quickly found a member of staff who was able to answer all my questions and offer other menu options that weren’t specified on the menu. The food was 10/10 it was so lovely to enjoy a takeaway with my family without feeling like I was eating GF! Everything was delicious! Thank you Hao Wei! Would recommended 100%!

Wow, the meal was ace. But without a doubt the prawns were the stars, we had them in a ginger sauce and breaded and both were phenomenal. It was genuinely one of the best Chinese meals we’ve had in a long long time Highly recommended

A fresh, delicious Chinese takeaway. Lemongrass prawns were INCREDIBLE. Lovely staff too, family run! Highly recommend.

Friendly every time. Always collect my order and think how nice it would be to sit in - has a great atmosphere. Food is always fresh and tasty. One of the only Chinese take aways that isn’t just grease and bland flavours. I would argue the best I’ve ever had in this country. Keep it up! Ps. Place is amazing if you're missing Asian food, especially the kungpao chicken, Szechuan fried rice. I've been with friends, girlfriend and parents as well. Literally closest thing I've tasted to Malaysian food. Amazing staff and good ambience as well.

I had a delightful dining experience at Haowei. Their menu provides a diverse range of options. I had salt and chili squid as starter and it was incredibly delicious. The chicken curry and mapo tofu were very authentic as well. The attentive and friendly waiters enhanced the overall experience, ensuring all my needs were met. As someone who works there, I've experienced firsthand the kindness and respect extended to the staff, reflecting a culture of inclusivity and appreciation. The starters at Hao Wei are a masterpiece. Each dish is delightful, my favourite ones are anything salt & chilli. It is so different than anything i ate before. Also, a big fan of our golden buttered king prawns and chicken satay with rices. Hao Wei, also makes you feel a sense of belonging. Whether you're a guest or a team member, the welcoming atmosphere and exceptional service make each visit a delightful affair.

This place has all the usual faves you'd expect plus some dishes you may not have experienced before. It's a great place for families, couples and friends to dine together. The staff are lovely and have the right amount of attentiveness. As it's not centrally located there's the added bonus of free parking nearby. It was surprisingly reasonably priced when the bill came we were expecting it to be more, having been used to paying more centrally located prices. The spicy chips are a must try, and the crispy aromatic duck (which I was told is made in house, not bought in) is so delicious you can really taste the aromatic flavours. And the pi pa tofu from the chefs specials is a more authentic dish which is wonderfully flavoured. They were our must haves but there is an extensive menu and we look forward to coming back and trying more.

Brilliant chinese restaurant for takeaway and delivery aswell. in Cheswick village. I've been using this restaurant 3 months now got to know the owner too he was really nice guy he gave me a VIP Gold card that I can use every time that will give me discount.. We have collected takeaways from Hao Wei quite a few times this year. The staff are always friendly, the food ready on time and always good, however tonight we ordered a meal and for whatever reason it really was exceptional!! One of the best Chinese meals that I have had. We look forward to our next visit.

Me and my family went to hao wei on saturday the 4th november and it was amazing. The service is outstanding, the food is delicious and the plates and cutlery were spotless. Watch out michelin!!!

I haven’t dined indoors but their delivery service is my absolute favourite. The food is always fresh and delicious. Being coeliac restricts where I can eat but now that I have discovered Hao Wei, I can enjoy a whole range of delicious food which is clearly labelled GF or has a GF option. It really makes a difference being able to have so much choice.

Food portion is small compare to other China restaurant. Tatse is not strong , most likely accommodate local tatse. Rice was super expensive 5pounds per bowl.

For a small area the prices seemed decent for a dining experience. £9 - £10 for a Noodle meal depending on the meat and Noodle type. Their also had bubble tea on the menu but sadly didn't have any when I went. Luckily they have many other drink options. They also have a £4.50 corkage fee if you wish to bring your own bottle of wine

Great food. Service was good. Not a massive place but good for a small get together. Prices are what you would expect for this climate.

Food was exceptional everything tasted wonderful and was cooked well. The service was fine for a near full restaurant and minimal staff we felt well looked after. The restaurant its self is nice its a nice layout spacious well decorated The atmosphere on the even we were in there was ok there was a table over from us that were being a little disrespectful but that is there issue . All in all will go back again and again and recommend to no end.

What a gem! We went yesterday with our autistic grandson. The owner's wife was so helpful telling our grandson about the vegetarian food they did and even showed him how to use his chopsticks - he rarely talks to people he doesn't know. She was patient and understanding with him. Another member of staff also helped him to use them. Food was amazing and will definitely return. Well done Hao Wei.

Many city chinese food can't capture the taste of authentic chinese, but for what it's worth at hao wei including the takeaways have always been great. Certainly recommend the pork and chicken, lush.

Been using Hao Wei ever since it opened, the food has always been really good. Unfortunately, recent orders have resulted in missing items, showing a lack of quality control, which is frustrating and stressful. It feels like Hao Wei success as being one of the best local Chinese restaurants has resulted a dip in service quality, which is a real shame. Next time I use them I'll make sure I check the order before I leave the actual restaurant.

We bought takeaway, so we can't comment on the atmosphere. The food was pretty good but probably not extraordinarily so, as some visitors have suggested, although I would like to eat at the restaurant to offer the best opinion, as takeaway can vary due to gow far it has to go before being eaten.
