Had a lovely dinner here whilst staying in Liverpool. 2nd visit in just over a year. Service and value for money excellent. Well worth a visit.

Absolutely lovely place. Staff were amazing as was the food and atmosphere. Would highly recommend if your in Liverpool.

We ended up at Hanover as our Christmas Do was cancelled last minute with the storm - the team were extremely accommodating, the food was delicious and all around wonderful night! Thank you so much for helping us out so last minute!

It was so nice the food was amazing with it being busy they made it through. I wish it was more light it felt dark inside but it was good. I couldn't hear music tho with customers being loud. Other than that it was great 😊

we had lunch in the restraunt. It is in a good location not far from central station, liverpool 1 and the docks. food was excellent and reasonably priced. staff really nice welll worth a visit

Great little lunch menu for reasonable price and not just your usual basics, I had the goats cheese and brioche with pear walnuts then the Gnocchi - really delicious! Service was good and efficient despite being VERY busy , brought the kids meal out with starters which was an excellent touch! Great priced kids menu! £4.50 for main course and ice cream! Lovely vibe and very Christmassy, had 2hours for the table so weren’t rushed either, would definitely go back!

Main meals are very very standard and the Christmas dinner was bland and not nice with very little to no greens on plate sorry to say. The sea bass and chicken parmentier were also not great and lacked in taste and also presentation. I think the starters were very nice and are far better than the mains so if I did go back I may do tapas. However, the service was attentive and quick with some staff very polite and respectful.

The food at Hanover Street Social is absolutely delicious! The service is outstanding, the prices are very reasonable, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. It’s also family-friendly, so I'll definitely be bringing my friends here for food and drinks next time.

Wonderfull Saturday afternoon meal myself and my wife booked weeks ago and we requested a window seat which they sorted for us sea bass lovely and chicken wings starter amazing service by a Scottish waiter called callum was brilliant helpfull and professional price was very reasonable we got the deal before 4.00 2 course for 22.00 great value for money we will go regularly from now on we'll done

Absolutely outstanding. Wonderful service, staff and food. I love the atmosphere. I would say "french bistro". Definitely my type of place. I loved the fact that they couldn't do enough for my gluten free daughter. The supply of food and drink was so nice. And their gluten free menu is worth it. Visited with a friend while on a trip to Liverpool. Nice lively atmosphere the restaurant was nearly full so pleased we had booked a table. They have a separate vegetarian menu which you can ask for with 4 mains choices, I had the nut roast my friend who isn’t a vegetarian had the chicken which she said was beautiful the nut roast was the best I’ve ever had. We had wanted the cheesecake but there wasn’t any left so we had a chocolate brownie and a malteser creme brûlée both of which were beautiful. There was no rush the time between courses was spot on you had time to enjoy your meal. I’d not hesitate in returning if I was back in Liverpool at any point.

Great steak at a price that won't break your wallet. Red wine jur sauce was divine.

One, if not the best roast in the city, 100% would go again. Staff were very friendly, and even tho it was busy, they went out there way to keep our drinks filled and check if everything was alright 👍

We went here for a family meal last Saturday, I hadn't eaten in here for quite a few years, we pre-booked a table and when we arrived a little bit early, we took a table by the bar until our dining table was free. The bar staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The front of house gentleman, even helped us carry our coats to the table as we had drinks to carry. The staff, food - which was really tasty with an option for everyone and atmosphere made for a really lovely family meal, we really enjoyed it and can't wait to visit again. Thank you!

I have visited Hanover Street Social multiple times for various occasions and it impresses me every time! The food is incredible here and it’s so lovely inside. I’d recommend the roast chicken!

We visited Hanover Street Social in Liverpool on a Saturday night. Whilst it was busy we didn't have to wait long to be seated. We had prebooked our table as it was for a large party. We had some drinks whilst we were waiting that they were happy to include on our final bill. The food and drinks we had were fantastic. A big shout out too for the Stornoway black pudding as there are not too many places that have this. The staff were very friendly and thorough. All our food which we had pre ordered all came out at the same time. The staff were also happy to keep bringing over our drinks orders. Despite it being very busy there the whole restaurant were very happy to accommodate us and we will be back soon.

They were very careful with my son & I having celiac. I didn’t have any cross contamination problems. Great separate GF menu with loads of yummy choices, apps, mains and desserts. Dedicated fryer. I was so grateful to have gf fried calamari for the first time since having celiac. It was delicious!

Visiting Liverpool for the weekend and my boyfriend booked Hanover Street Social for dinner. The food was phenomenal not one dish disappointed! Friendly and attentive staff. I’d highly recommend the salted caramel cheesecake (best cheesecake I’ve had).

Went for the Monday night offer with friends for a 50th birthday. Lovely bottle of red wine with 2 courses for £32.50, delicious food beautifully presented. It was a busy night which made it a bit noisy for conversation but still a fun night with friends. Lovely food and great value

Always visit this bar at some point during a weekend visit to Liverpool. Once again, great atmosphere with reasonably priced drinks, great quality food plus welcoming and helpful staff.

I literally have no words! From start to finish just amazing! Atmosphere was fabulous, staff were so lovely and attentive. We had the best meal we had in Liverpool I had goats cheese mousse to start, hubby had black pudding. Then salmon and sea bass for main and hubby had chicken. I won’t bore you but it was genuinely gorgeous. We also had 2 bottles of wine. On a Monday they do the best deal 1 full bottle of wine and 2 courses for £35.95!!! Highly recommend, thank you

My favourite place to eat go many times today however was disappointed. Very hot and uncomfortable very noisy. Food wasn't what it usually is. However staff as always delightful

Was recommended by a lovely Liverpudlian I met on the train and it did not disappoint. I ordered the nut roast - delicious and child ordered the fish and chips, also tasty. Staff were lovely and friendly and I would recommend this place to everyone

Oh My God this was the nicest Roast Beef Dinner I have had in a long time, I honestly wish we lived in Liverpool and I’d be a regular here! When we arrived we were greeted by a really lovely staff member who seated us and got our drinks then took our order. I had roast beef and my hubby had Fish & Chips, we both loved our food, we also had a wee cocktail after dinner which was also perfect. Highly recommended and we can’t wait to return

The food was very good. I recommend the chicken pot pie! The restaurant was quite noisy, but that's to be expected. The service was slow, so if you are in a hurry, this is not the place to go for a quick meal. Seemed like there wasn't enough staff. Overall, a lively atmosphere! The toffee sticky pudding is super!

Attended for a joint birthday for friends and I have to comment on the 1st class service. The staff were friendly, welcoming and accommodating, noting was too much trouble. We were the second to last to leave whilst waiting g for lifts home and they couldn't have been nicer. The food was good quality, tasty and with Good sized portions. Very rare that I am this effusive in a review but they deserve it.

Loved the set lunch menu. Goats cheese on Brioche, with caramelised walnuts and salad. Minute steak with fries and peppercorn sauce. Chocolate brownie and honeycomb ice cream/ chocolate sauce. Think it was £22/£24. Very nice.

I went here for a staff party, and I’ll definitely return of my own accord. I was given the party menu to pick my food from, while there wasn’t a vegan option on there I was offered the vegan menu to choose from. The food was delicious, along with their drinks. Considering the size of the group the staff were very friendly and attentive. I can’t fault anything about it.

Second visit and as good as the first, fantastic warm friendly staff who genuinely want to be there, amazing food, calamari followed by the steak, made a cooking request for the veg and all carried out with a smile. Definitely one to try

Excellent lunch for my mums 82nd birthday . Food was amazing on the set lunch menu . Really good quality and good portions . The staff were excellent particularly the head waiter/ bar guy who was amazing . Can thoroughly recommend !!

Always busy here but food is gorgeous and staff are friendly and fast. Fab cocktails too. Reasonable prices for both the food and drinks. Would love to see large round tables for groups rather than the long one but appreciate it is a space thing.

We had intended to go to Brown's, or Duke Street market, possibly Cote. We had actually already sat down at Lunya and we changed our minds. We were most impressed with the service, the waitresses were excellent. The food was very tasty, timely and they were very busy so it made it even better. Service was impeccably good all round from the moment we walked in to the minute we left. I won't fault them for not saying cheerio as they were busy. Will go again for definite!

What else to say been there once but will be going back there again and again and again food and staff 10out of 10 👍👍

Loved the food of this place. Both the gnocchi and the fish and chips were really good. Free fresh tap water, limited but good quality beer at accessible prices. We spent 40 pounds for 2 beers, and 2 plates.

Had high hopes for this as it was an introduction to "Sunday lunch" for a Japanese visitor Sadly, it didn't deliver. Wings and calamari starters were really nice. Then came the wait..... Eventually the mains came, nothing at all wrong with the beef, but the potatoes on the chicken were shrivelled somewhat, as can be seen in one of the photos. Didn't have time for a dessert or coffee, had to be elsewhere. 95 minutes for two courses is not acceptable even in a very busy restaurant. And it's not as if the staff were idling, quite the opposite in fact. Guess we got forgot.

Great place, lovely and friendly (and patient) service. Food was exceptional! I haven't a huge appetite atm and opted for 2 starters, the roasted carrot soup and the black pudding! Cant believe how much I raved about two starters! Gorgeous! Others had steak that was perfectly cooked and other tasty choices. All 10 left happy!

Amazing place, service, food and 'ambience' all first class. Portions are huge - I couldn't5 finish my chips ! A first ! Cured gammon chop is superb.

First time visited this establishment, was not disappointed, the food was delicious, the service was brilliant, nothing was any trouble for the girls. Will definitely go again and would recommend a visit.

8th May. Vegans beware! At lunch today it was discovered that I had been served non vegan food by mistake on my last visit. Incredibly disappointing and unacceptable given potential food allergies and intolerances. Manager handled complaint well, so they get at least 1 star. 25.4.24 Carrot cake frosting tasted like margarine, so that wasn't so nice. ********************************************** Latest visit - Mediocre at best - Sunday Food wasn't up to regular standard Deducted 2 stars Update: LOVE the vegan options here. The hummus starter with the pickles, pesto and chick peas is my favourite. 💚 Both the nut roast and chilli noodles are delicious.💚 Carrot cake with mango sorbet was lovely too.💚 Exceptional quality vegan food. 2nd visit. They've expanded the vegan menu to 3 main meals...desserts too. Friendly staff. They just need plant based milk for coffee now. 1st visit...good food. Limited vegan menu.

Came for a Sunday roast on 5/5. £27 for 2 courses, But worth every penny. Cooked to perfection and well presented.

I met up with 4 friends for a mini reunion Saturday lunch at the restaurant. I’m glad we had a reservation as it filled up with patrons rapidly. We opted for the Express Lunch Menu with drinks ie beers and wine. We all had 3 delicious courses. I ordered the calamari, sea bass and Lemon posset. I found the execution of each course to be excellent. Each dish was expertly prepared with emphasis on technique and flavour. Portion size was perfect. The final part of our dining experience was enjoying faultless service from Waiting Staff. We had an amazing waitress who was always close at hand. She maintained a close eye on diners and took care of our table.

Had the perfect Saturday day out at Hanover street social, me & my husband have always eaten hear after doing a bit of shopping in liverpool & brought my husbands 3 sisters & hubbys hear when there's a occasion to celebrate, brilliant service from all the staff can't do enough for u,shout out to Martin the manager who went up & beyond when the 8 of us where there on Saturday, food lovely as well,my favourite place for afternoon lunch & drinks, thank u all again,Carol & Tommy

Such a wonderful family celebration meal - such a great atmosphere, delicious food & such good value for money. Whoever is responsible for inventing the malteser brûlée I salute you!!! When we visit Liverpool again we will definitely be back here to eat!

Had a late lunch here with friends off the Express Lunch menu on Wednesday. The honey and chilli chicken wings were tasty and had a nice kick, gammon chop was good too. Others in our party had the soup, chicken pot pie and steak. Ice creams and sticky toffee puddings too. We all enjoyed. Nice, manageable portion sizes on the lunch menu and reasonable value. Been here often for a late lunch and it always seems busy and lively atmosphere no matter what day of the week. The staff are really nice and friendly.

Been here many times previously. Really looking to meal having travelled from Cumbria and it was my birthday. Black pudding with poached egg was not up to standard; hard egg, not runny, with very little sauce so very dry dish. Had sirloin steak for main, which had a £5 supplement. Steak was awful, very tough and a lot of fat on it. Had 2 mouthfuls and couldn't eat it, had to leave on the plate. My friend had sticky chicken wings which were nice, followed by the same steak dish as me which was also very tough. We complained and were offered 2 complimentary sweets which we declined and explained to the waitress our meal was awful. She spoke to a gentleman and brought our bill without any reduction at all. We thought at least the steak supplement would have been deducted, but nothing. We were both extremely disappointed.

Came to Liverpool in February for my birthday weekend. Good interaction with some of the staff. He looked at our reservation and said you’ve come a long way. Got a nice glass of Prosecco for my birthday which I thought was a touch. The atmosphere was really good and music not too loud. My main meal was really nice .I love fish so very happy with that . Good service and a great night. First on my list next time in Liverpool.

Birthday celebration- we had booked a large party to celebrate. Organisation was great pre the day. All the food was pre ordered. On the day the staff could not have been more helpful. Food came out in a timely manner everything was delicious. Service was great. Everyone had a great time. Staff brought out the birthday cake and joined in the singing. Nothing was too much trouble for them. A big thank you to everyone in the kitchen and serving staff for making my partners birthday lunch so fab.

Atmosphere - 4 Open, lively, and comfortable. Food - 3 Our first Sunday Roast disappointed. The appetizers were okay, gammon quite tasty, beef very dry and bland. The tasty gravy and vegetables were the highlight, Yorkshire pudding was bland and slightly burnt (caveat, I have never had this before so may be how it is supposed to be). Cocktail and beer was good (though limited beer selection). Dessert (toffee pudding) was very good. Service - 2 Seated quickly as we had a reservation. Our orders were taken relatively quickly but after that our servers barely saw us. I had to go to the bar myself to order another beverage. Took very long to get food, others that seated after us received food before us. Ordered coffee with our desserts which we never received. Again, took a bit to get the bill.

Amazing as always...our go to eatery ! We will always return here again and again. The food never disappoints and the ambiance complements the experience.

Booked for a group of 14 people, The Staff who arranged our reservation were great and very helpful. (George and Emma). We had pre booked our food due to the size of the party, which was excellent, service was attentive, and it was a great location with a nice atmosphere. Would certainly recommend be it for a group or individuals.

Lovely meal, great choice, service excellent. But like a lot of these venue's wine far too expensive. Would personally eat out more often, but just a glass of wine makes a meal unaffordable.

They have whole menus of gluten free dishes and vegan and dairy free dishes too. Tasty food too, well seasoned and the fish was cooked perfectly.
