I visited on a bank holiday Monday evening, the place was fairly quiet. It was my first outing to somewhere like this and I enjoyed the experience, fortunately my friend that I visited with showed me how I was meant to eat here as none of the food was labelled as to what it was, the sauces were the same, I know, you can tell what a shrimp looks like, but some of the other things were pot luck for the most part. Anywho, I thoroughly enjoyed the food, the waitress was very pleasant and attentive. The decor is a little spit and sawdust (chipboard paneling) The price was a little more than I'd expect to pay for the food, though far from a rip off. The 1 out of 5 with their food safety rating was somewhat of a concern, but I'm sure it's something they're working on. Overall a good experience, good venue for a casual dinner and shall return.

I visited this restaurant during a business trip to Leicester in June. I chose Kung Po Chicken with boiled rice and Chinese beer. The Kung Po was really tasty (if a little on the oily side). The service was excellent and I received very good value for money. Also, the menu was interesting and inventive (a little bit different from standard Chinese fare). I would definitely recommend.

Very overpriced for the quality of food servedThe hotpot ingredients are cheap and the meat and seafood previously frozen. Its just a terrible, lazy attempt at a restaurant. No effort in the food. Don't waste your time

Family trip with two young children. Definitely mainly a Chinese dominated clientele, which is wonderful to see. However, felt very much ignored and due to language issues felt taken advantage related to price. Service was poor and staff not interested. Food was decent but nothing special. 3 stars for cleanliness was generous in my view; state of food and hygiene not up to my comfort level. Will not return, too many other great restaurants in Leicester to waste money on average food and semi-hostile staff who provide nowhere near good enough service.

Went with a friend. Was very busy with Chinese people only. That's what made me realise it should be proper Chinese food. The menu was quite interesting with pictures of all the dishes and luckily with English names as well. Interesting food and big portions. Very nice staff and take away tubs. Decided to go there few more times so I can try few of their interesting dishes. Highly recommend.

I must say I was a bit apprehensive about trying this restaurant after reading the reviews, but I was intrigued by the 'Hot Pot' experience on offer (the only Leicester restaurant that does this style) and I'm glad that I took the plunge. Contrary to some reviewers , I strode in and approached the bar directly, there were some language problems but the international language of hand gestures got my colleague and I seated quickly. Mark appeared , who I think may be the Manager, very friendly and happy to explain the whole process (in English!).... I had a three minute debate with him about whether I could cope with the 'spicy' broth - Me: Yes I can Mark: No , it's too spicy Me: No i'm sure I can cope Mark: Well if it's too hot i'll change it He was really concerned that my experience should be right. Anyway , had the spicy cooking broth...it was spicy but not throat meltingly so. Mark had brought a bowl of chillis as a 'side', I suspect that these were normally in the broth, and they were extremely hot, so another attention to detail. The Halogen rings on the table and the BBQ grill were switched on, the Broth was bubbling nicely so time to attack the buffet. There was a big selection of food , lots of Tofu types (I thought there was only one ?) , vegetables , noodles , all the usual meats , marinated Squid and fish and a couple of novelty items chicken Gizzrds and tripe. Well in for a penny , in for a pound so they say, so I tried the lot. Mark demonstrated the cooking techniques . The buffet is split into ingredients that you cook in the broth and those which you grill, he was on hand to demonstrate both techniques...it was like having a Sushi chef at the table making sure things weren't burned or tough. Agood selection of Dessert items The drinks were about average in terms of price . All in all , a great night out. The restaurant is full of Chinese people and the a la carte menu has many unusual dishes alongside the favourites. Put your inhibitions aside and give this restaurant a go, try something new - you won't be disappointed .

This was my second visit in a fortnight; the first was an opportunity to sample the (extensive) a la carte menu, which has photos of the cooked food on offer, and I wasn't disappointed with my Fried Cuttlefish and pickled peppers. Had to come again to try the at-table hot-pot and grill dining options, which were demonstrated (and largely done by) our friendly and attentive waiter, Mark. Language was clearly not a problem here, and we couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. The buffet was well-stocked, the food looked and tasted freshly prepared, the soup base was agreeably spicy, and there's ample opportunity to try some unusual items (sliced tripe and chicken gizzards may not be your bowlful of soup, but you can try everything once) Han Dynasty does cater a lot for the student community, and consequently you can eat on a limited budget, but you will eat well and for not much more than the price of a meal at one of the soul-less 'Oriental' mega-buffets around. Unreservedly recommended.

This is an authentic Chinese restaurant where you pick the ingredients from a buffet table and cook them in pots of soup stock of your choice (plain, mushroom, spicy), etc.. The experience is very special and the food choices are really good and extensive. HOWEVER -- the big problem is that their staff speak limited English and because of that, you will struggle a bit if you do not speak the language. Sign language and slow English will get you by, they do speak basic English but still. If you have questions about the ingredients, etc. -- JUST BE ADVENTUROUS and try it out. This is why I suspect the attendants took forever to serve xxxMoonfacexxx (his/her review below) and his group -- most likely because all of them hesitate to approach and serve due to language limitations. But the world is getting smaller and I hope somehow and soon this language barrier should not become much of an issue. IMPORTANT: Be aware that you CAN ask for a refill of the soup stock on your hot pot! They usually have a jug of stock at the buffet table, or if none, just ask the attendant for a refill (MAYBE, point into your pot and say "more soup"?) :) Happy eating!

If you are not of chinese origin then I would not recommend coming here as you probably won't served as we didn't! We came in and were stood in the door way for almost 10 mins before being acknowledged by a member of staff (there were 4 members of staff bearing in mind!). She pointed us to a table which we were to be seated at once it was cleaned.(In the mean time a chinese couple came in after us but were seated straight away). However... this took another 10 mins before she made a start AND she decided to pick up 2-3 dishes each time before disppearing to attend to a different table of customers. So it actually took her almost 20 mins to clear the table. We sat down and didn't get given menus for another 10 mins... But our hearts were still set on eating a meal here but sadly it was not to be as after another 15 mins of waiting we had given up. A waitress even caught my eye but didn't come over to the table! We then walked out and was not given another look by the staff. Simply unbelievable, I have never experienced anything like it. If it was not for their chinese customers this place would be out of business.

Visited this restaurant with my dining partner, a Hong Kong born Chinese lady at her recommendation. I was not disappointed. As a newcomer to the Chinese Hotpot style of eating I was glad to have her as a guide. The first thing I noticed was the clean, bright and airy look of the place and upon being seated the four individual halogen hobs, one set in each corner of the table. We both decided on the Hotpot, although a Chinese BBQ ( also built into the table ) is available along with other standard dishes too. You choose the base meat for your meal in, our case beef and lamb, then off you go to the well stocked chiller servery to make a selection of various, vegetables, meats, tofus, fish and prawns. Next to the condiment station to mix up you own dipping sauces. ( It doesn't matter how you combine them they still taste great ) Back at the table the soup base had arrived, hot and simmering away on the hob, I had chosen the spicy broth and my partner the plain version. It was then just a case of tucking in, holding the thinly sliced meats in the bubbling broth for a few second until done, vegetables were simply chucked in and retrieved when done, the same with the other items. The broth is spooned over boiled rice and improves as more is cooked in it. As you can imagine this is a very, roll your sleeves up and relaxed way to eat and great fun in good company with friends. The staff were very friendly and would come on over for a chat from time to time, refilling the Hotpot as required. Altogether a very enjoyable evening out and with the bill for two of £38 on an eat all you can basis plus a bottle of wine, pretty good value too.

I've just tried Noodle house, after following some of my friends recomendations. I was told it was really good food, but I was still pleasently surprised. The guy that cooked for me was incredibly friendly and accomodating, and because I made a large order, he cooked it all up fresh in front of me. He was very busy on his own cooking, serving, and on the phone to delivery drivers. But he was still attentive to me at all times. We have just finished our 3x very packed noodle boxes and they were just as nice as I was told. I will become a regular for sure. Highly recommended. By Marco Ruscelli

Food was great, however upon entering I was just pushed the menu in front of me and was told to sit at an available table. I don't know what the lady's issue was, but I was for sure not made to feel very welcome in there and was looking forward to leaving more than my food.
