Hammond's Wine Bar and Restaurant in Tandridge

Ate in the wine bar. Lovely service, very friendly, quick and attentive. Sadly the food was a bit of a disappointment, steaks were over cooked. Was OK but wouldn't rush back.

We love Hammond's and keep returning to it! Lovely atmosphere, attentive service, fabulous decor and outstanding cocktails and food.

Extensive wine and cocktail menu and a classic British menu with some twists. Highly recommend.

We managed to get a last minute booking for our family birthday celebration, having been caught out by the torrential rain which resulted in the original restaurant we'd booked having to close due to flooding. We ended up having a fab meal. Service was great with an extremely professional and lovely waitress, who was very patient with us. Thank you for saving my sisters birthday celebrations!

Ate from the a la carte and was very happy with our experience. Food was lovely, well presented and portioned. Lots of little extras were presented before and after courses and the staff were friendly and efficient.

Excellent place to meet friends and relax. Close to the station, an ideal location if catching up with friends travelling by train. Unlike some restaurants there was no rush to finish our meal. We were very well looked after by Harriet and Taylor

Best Sunday roast around by far and some lovely starters and deserts. Great drinks menu as well. Highly recommend and would be surprised if you were disappointed by any of the offerings. Looking forward to coming back!

We popped in for a late lunch. Charming greeting and attentive service. We each had one of the fish specials (trout and cod loin) beautifully cooked. Recommended.

Dropped in on our way back from London, good selection of wines and spirits, sat in the window watching the world go by. Really nice evening, will be back for sure.

The best Sunday Lunch we’ve had out in a long time. Vegetarian option was delicious and everything was so tasty. Will definitely be back 🙂

Best meal ever! We had the most wonderful evening here. We had the tasting menu which was unbelievable. The food is delicious and so different to anything else around. The chef is amazing! The staff are lovely and so helpful. The owner is great and made his way around to check everyone was happy. The restaurant is beautiful and so clean and cosy. We were there for a birthday treat and they really made us feel special. Would 100% recommend this restaurant!

We drove to Oxsted purely by chance, and found Hammond’s after parking near the railway station. We looked at the menu and Sunday roast option looked good, and trust me it was. We shared, so I had Beef and my wife Turkey. It was hot, very tasty, the meat was tender and lots of it. Lovely vegetables and the roast potatoes were fabulous. Having devoured the main course, Harriet recommended the chocolate dessert, which she said was amazing. Oh, I can’t tell you how good it was, just wonderful, and how right she was. A light chocolate type mousse in a sphere, with a crunchy outer layer, with a praline type base and berry filling. I do not often leave reviews but felt I must today. Would I recommend it, you bet I would. Enjoy.

Two reviews in one have been lucky enough to celebrate twice here in two weeks one with a tasting menu the other drinks. The cocktails are made wonderfully the bar staff are awesome and know their stuff. The chef has created a wonder menu the tasting menu with the flight of drinks is a joy. The staff service and food are immaculate, nothing is too much and you are really looked after, the best place to meet and enjoy time with friends x

Took the family for Sunday lunch and wasn’t disappointed. Most of us had beef with Yorkshire puds with all the trimmings. Truly excellent! I had the chocolate brownie for dessert and would say it was one of the best I have ever had! I live in Tunbridge Wells, but will be making the effort to visit Hammond’s again. It may present itself as a wine bar, but we had the best Sunday roast for a long time. Staff and management were also spot on. Well worth a visit.

Exceptional. The best restaurant experience for miles around. Lovely atmosphere, wonderful food, but what really set it apart was the service - we were made to feel welcome as soon as we stepped through the door and the waiting staff were super-attentive. They deserve a sixth star ⭐

Booked a Sunday Lunch for my daughter (5 yrs old) and myself. The food was really excellent and it's the best Roast we've had locally. Excellent service too and the staff were lovely. Would highly recommend and will visit again soon 😊

It was our first experience at Hammond's so we decided to eat in the restaurant (upstairs). The decor is art deco but with vibes of a Parisian brasserie. The options were the tasting menu or the à la carte two or three course, we opted for the three course à la carte (£58pp). Also included in the price is canapés, bread, coffee/tea and petit fours. The food was beautifully presented, tasted absolutely incredible and the portion sizing was very generous. The service from the second we walked in the door until the second we left was excellent. We are already looking forward to our next meal there. If you haven't tried the fine dining restaurant at Hammond's it is an absolute must, the service, food and setting is 100% worth the money.

Brilliant local restaurant and wine bar in Oxted - a lovely afternoon spent in the courtyard, catching up with old friends over some great food and wine! Highly recommend this spot - already looking forward to a return trip.

Enjoyed briefly, not my usual thing but a really nice place nonetheless.

I've been to Hammonds a few times now. It's been well decorated and put together, you could easily be in London rather than Oxted! It is a bit pricey but nothing out of the ordinary. Staff are always very friendly and helpful though service can be a little slow. We went to the quiz this week which was the first they've ever done. It was really fun. My only criticism would be that we came third and didn't get a prize but the losing team did - felt a little unfair! Have only had a couple of English tapas dishes before, and they were very tasty and generous.

A lovely addition to Oxted. Had a delicious tasting menu here which I recommend. Very good quality ingredients and the cookery was top level. Service was spot on too. Accessible wine list and a range of well-made cocktails.

I only gave this place 5 star. It could easily be more, if you could give more 7 or 8 maybe more. We tried the restaurant. On arrival you will be swept up stairs to this oasis of calm. With classic designs and service to match. Chef Tom is managing to produce some amazing food for his taster menu. Fooling your eyes with colour and images. The palette is hit with taste combinations and textures that blow your mind. This is not a hidden gem. More of a come look at me "I've arrived". Go try it before there is a waiting list for tables. This is the kind of restaurant that you will surely recommend to others.

We ate in the courtyard, having struggled with the online booking and subsequently in a phone call. So not an auspicious start. We chose to sit in the courtyard which is a real delight. Throughout the decor, inside and out , is really pleasing and represents art deco well. The set lunch was one course, and very good value. The food was good as was the service. Definitely recommended once you have managed to get a booking,

A good wine bar, not tried the food but will soon. Good selection of cocktails, wine and spirits as you would expect. Quite a lively atmosphere. A bit open plan but the classical decor gives it some gravitas. Nice helpful staff.

Great new bar and restaurant and a definite 5-star review: excellent service, lovely decor, fab wine selection, with interesting options at both the bottom and top ends of the list, and first class bar food with some great twists on well known classics. Looking forward to visiting the newly opened restaurant in the next few weeks, menu looks great.

Amazing and delicious food. Perfect match with a bottle of fizz. Great service too. Really impressed. Will be back. My only negative is the lighting....it is far too bright in the day, and evening (although it was turned down in the evening still too bright).

I know, it's a strange comment to make, but the gents is the cleanest toilet I've ever visited. And if the loos are that clean, then you know everything else is spotless. Oh, the wine and service was great as well

Amazing decor, delicious food and wine and wonderful service! Less than a minute walk from Oxted station. Say hi to the owner John as well who is delightful! Highly recommend!

Highly recommend this new bar in the area. Very classy whilst retaining the local feel. As well as an excellent wine list, food (which I believe has been recently introduced) was exquisite with a wide and varied menu. I shall be returning!
