Had Sunday carvery at the Hamlet last weekend. Food was very tasty with lots of choice, would highly recommend for a Sunday roast. Service was also brilliant.

From the moment my family and I stepped into Hamlet Hotels - Maidstone, we knew we were in for a treat. Our experience at this charming hotel was nothing short of wonderful. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and adorned with all the comforts of home. Service at Hamlet Hotels is where the experience truly shines. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was exceptional. Their warm hospitality and prompt attention to our needs made us feel valued and well taken care of. It's rare to find such a dedicated team that manages to strike the perfect balance between professionalism and personal touch. The location of the hotel is another highlight, conveniently situated close to the town centre. The ease of access to the heart of Maidstone added an extra layer of satisfaction to our stay. I cannot speak highly enough of Alex, our host. His exceptional service was the icing on the cake. Alex's genuine care and dedication to guest experience were evident in every interaction. He was always available to assist us with any requests and to offer recommendations that enhanced our visit to Maidstone. Whether you're traveling with family, as a couple, or on business, this hotel promises a stay that's as memorable as it is comfortable. We left with fond memories and a strong desire to return. Thank you, Hamlet Hotels, for a truly splendid experience!

Ok. No the best place but enough for staying a couple of nights. Breakfast is really good and the restaurant without anything special. Good atmosphere to chat and work

Easy to get to, easy to park, friendly staff, nice grub and drink lol. Rooms do need updating as they are still in the 18th century lol. Its ok for a quick hotel local to all pubs, food stores, petrol garage next door and easy to get to M20

This is a nice hotel from the outside. Not that big and with a real atmosphere. It is run by Indian people and that sometimes makes communication a bit difficult. The rooms are not luxurious, but just what you need is there. No refrigerator... what? you would expect and take European plugs with you to charge. Breakfast is fine, not too much... but what is there is tasty.

Good hotel, clean, large rooms. Basic, but everything you need is there!!! It is remote, we had a bus tour, so the location was not a problem!!

We used the function room for my 60th, staff friendly and helpful, venue was great, food was excellent , had its own bar , nothing was too much trouble. Best function room we saw and best value for money by far. Had a great evening and wouldn't hesitate to go back for another event.

Needed to relocate our daughters 50th birthday party to Hamlet with only a couple days notice. Luckily we able to book their function room for about 70 family and friends (excellent facility with small bar and the extremely helpful staff). Hamlet were more than happy for us to use the live music group we had already engaged. Free car park (register number plate at reception). We did not need to use the hotels bedrooms but reception, main bar and adjoining lounges were extremely clean and comfortable.

I wasn’t disappointed and would certainly consider this hotel for a repeat visit and also recommend it - based on my selection criteria ( from all other possible hotel options within a 10 km radius from Maidstone)for this stay, being a base near Maidstone and “ home away from home” for the period 23 Feb to 5 March 2024. The hotel lived up to its marketing ad and promo, also with the advantage of being close to other restaurants, shops and local attractions. Based on: The location, the appealing rustic “ Victorian” look and guest value offered of costs and amenities offered that suited me. Let by the GM - Basheer Ahmed - the hotel team was guest focussed, helpful, friendly,to ensure all guest room - 1st floor,1 pax double room, dining experiences/services lived up to the standards offered for this 3 star hotel. Sadly, during this stay the outdoor amenities couldn’t be enjoyed as the weather did not play its part.

First impressions are great. Lovely old building from the outside, and plenty of free parking. Reception area is clean and modern, and the check in process was a good experience. Walking through the bar, I was impressed at how cosy and well maintained it was. As I got down the corridors, closer to the rooms, standards were dropping. The room itself was very dated & worn. There is an odd smell. Althogh I didn't find dust or dirt, everything just felt dirty. Almost sticky, without the stickiness. Difficult to explain. Hotel is set back from a busy road, and I slept well with no noise disturbance. Breakfast was not too bad. Bordering on good. If the room had been a little better, I'd have rated this higher. However, if breakfast hadn't been as good as it was, I'd have rated the hotel lower.

Unsure where to start really - checking in was a rather confusing ordeal that required 2 members of staff to stumble through. We were charged £1 to ‘verify’ our payment card which was bizarre. The entrance area itself looked clean, modern and newly renovated but this was a massive facade and contrasting to what we found in the corridor and beyond. The corridors are lined with spongy carpet that makes you feel intoxicated - either that or it’s the feeling of suffocation from the intense heat that smacks you as soon as you enter them - likely a mixture of both. The room itself was not very clean, there were large stains on the wall and the carpet both felt and looked really dirty underfoot. Almost comically the batteries were stuck into the TV remote with masking tape and kept sliding out of place, rendering the remote virtually useless. Add to all of this a supplementary cleaning charge of £25 and you have a pretty revolting recipe. Now, onto the most important part - rest. Unconvinced there’s a way to actually sleep comfortably here - there's a big metal pipe underneath the radiator that is boiling hot at all times, making the room sweltering and giving the illusion of the building being somewhere on the equator. We had to have the windows open all weekend as it was ludicrously hot. However, this resulted in being woken up by loud traffic sounds and seagulls squawking at all hours, as well as loud conversation outside. I must also mention the outside spotlight pointing directly through our paper thin curtains. You would genuinely be forgiven for thinking the main bedroom light was on. If you’re going to make the mistake of staying please make sure to bring an exceptionally thick eye mask. The bathroom tap was very hard to use and there was a playful and seemingly typical absence of hand wash. The shower curtain was stained brown and made you feel dirty when washing. The hotel food was really expensive and essentially nothing was available which in hindsight was definitely for the best. Lastly, there may be a chance of stumbling across staff randomly being in your room, or a 9PM knock on your door to check up on your room. On balance the rooms themselves have high ceilings which is maybe (definitely) the only plus. Won't be back and don't wish the misfortune of a trip on anyone else.

The front and reception are grim, entering into what looks like an airport bar. Comfortable bed, clean, but all fairy low cost no thrills which is fair at the prices.

Overriding feeling on staying one night at this hotel on the way to Dover for a cross channel ferry is that it could be so much better. The building is very nice from the outside with good parking. The staff try their best and are very friendly. Breakfast was very good. The rooms are tatty and old. Stains on the wall and a bathroom badly needing renovation. Shower curtain is unhygienic and dirty. Bed was fine. The restaurant in the evening was subpar and cannot be recommended.

This pub, in a rural setting just outside Tonbridge, has a lot going for it - spacious beamed interior, beautiful gardens, huge car park and friendly efficient service. The menu has a good variety of dishes. I had a cod burger which was delicious: light crispy batter with succulent fish in a brioche bun simply dressed with mayo and lettuce. It sounds simple but was so good I'd like to go back and eat it again tomorrow! As well as the normal menu, on weekdays you can also choose from two or three course set menus, which seemed good value. The two beers on tap were from Tonbridge brewery and Kent brewery and were both in excellent condition. If you go, best to first check out their website, as they are sometimes closed for weddings.
