This restaurant was very busy on our visit, it is also dog friendly if you want that facility. We were put on a lower table because we had 2 dogs , but the restaurant was very busy and quite noisy as it was a Friday evening. The food and drinks came quite quickly considering how busy it was, good choice of both but portions were not that big. We didn't have desserts but menu looked good.

Such friendly staff welcomed us all and our dog. So helpful. Lovely comfy sofas and a relaxing glass of wine. Ideal after a tiring day at the festival.

We stumbled across this place, fantastic staff, excellent food. And away from the crowds in the city. Definitely worth tracking down

This used to be a great pub with a good atmosphere but this lunchtime it was empty- we soon found out why. The menu had an offer of 2/3 courses and when we asked which items on the menu it applied to the answer was none. That was a different menu, and our server had to ask for the info on our behalf as he knew nothing about it. It eventually arrived. I chose the house special, a steak sandwich. This came with 5 pieces of raw, oozing and bloody meat which was impossible to chew or cut with the knife and fork provided. I really don't like blood on a sandwich and there was no indication from our server that the meat would not be cooked. My husband's burger did not have the blue cheese as advertised nor was there any mustard available. When asked if I was enjoying my meal I said no and that it was inedible. I declined the offer of another meal (who knows what would appear if the kitchen had provided raw meat) but nothing was removed from the bill. My drink arrived less than full and we had to ask for it to be topped up. Oh and the Ladies toilets need the plumbing repaired, the taps tightened and the hand dryer working. Our server was attentive hence the two stars.

THIS PLACE BLEW US AWAY! Gavin was an AMAZING SERVER and was so patient with our entire group. We had a table for 10 and he gave great cocktail recommendations and was helpful when we were ordering family style. The cocktails were so light and refreshing and so unique. Gavin talked me into ordering the Mai-Tai which I have never liked before and I loved it!! After dinner, Gavin even hand wrote a list of 10 other places to visit while in Edinburgh!! Unbelievable service!!

This place is absolutely gorgeous. The food is sumptuous with a reasonable price. The services were excellent. We would definitely come back here again.

Absolutely first rate, lovely staff, just the right level.of attentive and casually interactive, wonderful. That alone is enough to make us come back but the food, wow! This was a lunchtime visit using an Itison voucher. Firstly the menu for lunch shown on website just the day before out visit was not the same as the one presented to us, seems menu has changed (as is to be expected as the seasons move on) but however not yet on website. However when challenged on this they, to be fair, did accommodate our request. We had what was actually a lovely meal, beautifully presented and cooked perfectly and thoroughly enjoyed so that overall it was worth visiting. Service was attentive and helpful and appreciated so we would return but just not soon
