Amazing cocktails - I reccomend the French Revolution We had a mix of starters but we came here a week ago for a roast and it was incredible. Will be coming back. Adore all the little touches of paint Also loved our serve Chloe

We had a lovely time at Hall and Woodhouse. Never fail to disappoint and food is always lovely. Chloe our waitress was so lovely and was very attentive.

Always frequent this pub as the beer (hazy ipa) is the best in town and today my family and I went for a Sunday roast. The food and service was amazing and the best roast dinner I have had in Swindon. The staff and service was equally as good as the food and beer 🍺 Will definitely be dining there again!

Fish was off, it had a disgusting overpowering fish taste which had obviously gone bad. Despite staff walking past a plate to the side of the table, not one person asked if the food was OK. This makes me think they have many complaints and don't want to deal with anymore. Or it's just plain poor service. Additionally I have more fingers than chips!!

No one to greet us. Had to find our reserved table (luckilyhsd our name on it) Table still needed to be cleaned No cutlery, serviettes or salt on table No sparkling water. If we wanted prosecco we would have to buy a whole bottle. Food was edible but nothing to write home about. Staff were pleasant but not enough ( or doing something else) to give proper service ie queues at the bar even though it was not that busy

I can’t say anything other than you are all AMAZING! I had my wedding reception here, and the staff, the food, the service and just EVERYTHING was perfect. I cannot thank you all enough for how smoothly our big day went, and I will recommend you to anyone, they listened to everything I asked for and provided that and more. Special thank you to Erin for dealing with my last minute panics and just being an angel. Thank you all again!

Went for Sunday lunch on the 28th April 1.15pm for my sister birthday nice food staff very friendly Run out of pigs in blanket so we had extra Yorkshire puddings which were lovely and extra gravy shouldn't run out of pigs in blanket in the afternoon also some ice cream selection run out of My wife is gulten free need more choices of gulten free food main courses and deserts

My friend and I were visiting for the first time.We loved the location and interior design and staff were friendly however we waited an hour and a half for our food and then had to chase staff .They apologised but by then we were really hungry and went elsewhere instead.Very disappointed .

Excellent. Great and friendly service. The food was delicious which included the specials menu. both my guests ordered from it and loved it! And if you have a burger, the burger sauce they have is lovely too.

Fantastic burgers on the Wednesday deal. Restaurant was very busy and had one waitress on the floor on her own. Chloe was very attentive, chatty and made our evening. Impressed with her service although swept off her feet!

When this pub restaurant first opened 5 years ago, it was our go-to local. The Canalside location and quirky decor is lovely. However, since it reopened after lockdown, prices have increased, the menu has got smaller and there are way less staff. We last ate here 15 months ago and were disappointed with the service and value for money, but as they now do a special deal on burgers on Wednesdays, we thought we'd give it another try. Alas, service was still poor and the food was uninspiring. In addition, we were seated in the restuarant area and it seemed that the heating was turned off as it was very chilly, which didn't help the experience. There are now better places to eat locally and we'll give it a miss from now on.

I had a fabulous Sunday roast with 2 of my friends for my birthday celebration. The staff were friendly & the food was excellent 10/10 defo will be returning very soon

Our time here was great; the food was amazing and everyone was so friendly. Especially mikey who kept checking in with us and was lovely to be around. Definitely would recommend.

This was poor. A 70th birthday with some people travelling from as far as London and Chester. No bread or water on arrival. Separate drinks and food waiters. Had to wait probably an hour or more for drinks and longer for food. Food portions were small. The recommended roast dinner was poor. A yorkshire pudding covered half the plate. Slow in taking drinks orders and when they did we were ready to go home after waiting ages again for desert. Nobody kept asking if everything was ok. Wont bother again. The staff themselvs were very nice but theyve no idea how to run a restaurant.One was playing with a dog instead of helping satisfy customers.

Visited here yesterday, 17th March and will not be returning. Unfortunately during our visit we overheard a member of staff yelling at another member of staff in the kitchen. The experience was distressing, nobody should endure such treatment regardless of the circumstances. I’ve never witnessed such unprofessional conduct before and feel really sorry for the staff at H&W.

An interesting place, staff very attentive, food great quality. Mother’s Day visit and it ticked all the boxes. We visit often and always enjoy the atmosphere.

Previously an avid fan of The Wichelstowe decided to treat the wife for a mother's day dinner and wish I hadn't. Overpriced food - would expect a £19 roast beef dinner to melt in your mouth. Difficult to cut with the cheap cutlery. Limited pudding options because by 4pm you'd been busy - yet the restaurant wasn't full. Order taken but never received as the waitress left/ went for break but nobody came to check on us. In the end left with a £91 bill feeling that we'd been ripped off for the quality of meal and service.

Went here today for Mother’s Day Sunday lunch, the food was excellent and the young waiters and waitresses were all really friendly, will definitely be returning soon, would recommend

A brilliant experience from start to finish. Fantastic food, staff and atmosphere it made my wife's birthday really special.

Disappointed visit. Was greeted by a middle aged blonde lady. Clearly was new to the job as didn't have a clue about anything. Whilst I appreciate you need to learn in a job I found her to be very rude.

We popped in for a light lunch on the off-chance of a table. We were seated in the bar, although on benches, it was still very comfortable. We had sandwiches and American pancakes. All very tasty and the pancakes were huge. We were waited on by Chloe who was very smartly dressed, attentive and met our various queries with a smile. All staff were kind and friendly. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Without a doubt I would have awarded a 5 star review if it was not for experiencing a very dishonest practice. A couple of weeks ago, our family visited the restaurant for a family celebration as the restaurant had advertised 30% discount on food on Mondays. I happened to check the bill when it arrived and thought it a bit high. Noticing that the discount had not been applied, I queried this with the waiting staff. He said he would happily produce a new 'correct' bill but that he had been told to only apply the discount if the customer specifically requested it. Really! I felt this unnecessarily dishonest and it cast a shadow over an otherwise excellent evening.

It looks pleasant enough from the outside and the inside is light, spacious and airy with a view of the canal. We went on a Monday which is a discounted food day - we did not know that when we booked but maybe that is why it was relatively busy for a Monday. The menu is very limited - we all turned the page to see the rest but there was nothing. Three of us had fish and chips which was good and the other had a shepherds pie which was very small and not very good. The food is expensive by comparison to similar dishes in other pubs. The service is slow and poor. It took over 45 minutes for our main courses to arrive after ordering and not far short of this for deserts to arrive. It was a large disappointment.

H & W Swindon experience, 20th Feb 2024 Our party of 12 had an evening meal at H&W and I am afraid to say the experience was mediocre. I generally do not give reviews but in this case I am compelled to comment: Despite ordering and paying weeks in advance, we discovered at the table that half the menu was not available. A simple sirloin steak suddenly had disappeared off the menu because the delivery had not arrived. Despite H&W’s link with the Badger Brewery, the bar ran out of Fursty Ferret, which only one of our group had ordered. The chicken wings had flow away and the salmon had swum away? The cupboard seemed to be bare apart from small lumps of Shepherd’s pie drenched in soggy gravy. Some of our party ordered a double espresso which surprisingly turned out to be half as small as a single espresso, which in itself was a dribble; perhaps the coffee machine had run out of water? Too add to this misfortune, the bill was bolstered Brexit prices. Yet more; unbeknown to some of our party, who had entered via the back door, the establishment does not accept cash! Apparently there was a sign on the front door to say this. Unfortunately the whole affair was incredibly sloppy. Because of these complexities it took a good half hour to sort out the bill. The staff tried their best under the circumstances but the senior management at H&W HQ need to be fired.

We originally had a booking for Sunday night, for our daughter’s birthday. The restaurant was absolutely jam-packed, and the kitchen had unfortunately run out of a couple of meals on the reduced menu.When we explained that we would need to leave on account of there being nothing that our kids would eat, Dan, the manager, came over to apologise, and was genuinely so lovely. He gave us our drinks for free, and asked if we would like to come back on another date.We made the booking for this evening, and we were blown away by the effort that Dan and the team had gone to - we’d been given a table inside the boat, which the kids were over the moon about. Birthday decorations had been put up for our daughter, and Dan had drawn her the cutest picture, and had even left her a giant birthday badge!Our first server (I’m so sorry for not catching her name) was hilarious, and so welcoming. Our second server, Anne-Marie, was *beyond* helpful, so warm and friendly, and had a great laugh with the kids. We were even given free desserts, a gesture that the team had no need to make after the effort they’d already gone to!Hall & Woodhouse, you’ve got an incredible team in Wichelstowe. Thank you so much for a lovely evening, and for giving our daughter a great (second!) birthday.

What a shame, total shambles Sunday night. Half the menu not available, one meal wrong, one meal completely forgotten about and late. Lots of tables left for over an hour with dirty plates. Not an enjoyable experience. On the plus side the Burger was delicious. Appreciate hospitality has been hit with Covid and Brexit, but if you can’t manage, cancel some of your bookings and stop accepting walk-ins.

I went with my wife and daughter for a rare meal out. I'd heard great things. My wife's fish n chips was nice ,but the mushy peas were dry and reheated.I had a double cheese burger. Hardly any chips, and although a nice flavour, the patties were dry.Ordered a steak cooked medium with no garlic butter. Came our rare, bloody and very tough. Sent it back, took a while. 2nd effort came out a 3rd of the size, with garlic butter, and dry and I'd stopped eating at this point.Was offered a free pudding at first. When I spoke to the manager she saw the disappointment and wiped the bill.She was nice, but we went for the food, so family lunched ruined

We visited for lunch on a Saturday. This is a very attractive restaurant, in a lovely canal side location. Service was excellent, food arrived in good time and was beautifully prepared and reasonably priced. Couldn't ask for more!

Friendly, happy staff. Relaxed atmosphere while still being professional. Danielle, our server, was so good. We think the welcoming guy was called Dan? Crazy hair and cowboy boots. So cool and so friendly. He really went out of his way to make sure our evening was just right. Food great, drinks great, lovely atmosphere. We’ll be going back!

It really has the ‘wow’ factor...incredibly fitted out with amazing and interesting artefacts. The loos even have great artwork on the ceiling, the use of pipes, ropes, glass, boats, industrial objects, rusty ironwork...the place is huge and roomy yet feels incredibly warm and welcoming.The staff are attentive, smiley and helpful. We had 3 granddaughters with us 4,2 and 4 months...Danielle looked after them, was aware when bringing food to ensure their safety, and looked after their needs first ...amazing insight. When I requested a mug for my tea...just really prefer mugs to big cups...she went up to her room and bought one of hers down. Exceptional! All with a smile. The food was unique full of flavour and delicious..the tropical fruit crumble finished off a wonderful meal, great ambience and effortless service...thank you for a brilliant time on my 60th birthday Ps...my husband was very impressed with the Tanglefoot!

Visited for lunch today and were greeted by gentleman, Charles at the door who welcomed us warmly and took us to our table, informed us of the menu availability (nothing worse than ordering something and finding out it's off!) A bubbly lady called Abi served us and was an absolute pleasure!! All round amazing service, friendly faces, and amazing food. (Not a fan of the skinny fries but that's purely personal preference!!) Thanks hall and woodhouse wichelstowe!

We made a last minute decision to eat out midweek and we were glad we chose H&W. From the moment we walked in the service was excellent and the staff were incredibly friendly. A very warm welcome by the Deputy General Manager when we arrived was backed up by first class service throughout the evening. Food came in less than 5 minutes after ordering and drinks and coffee came almost immediately. We were finished in less than an hour but didn’t feel rushed it was just great service and exactly what we needed.

Had an amazing New Year’s Eve, service great as always and the set menu had some great choices. Shared some baked Camembert with my husband as I am a cheese lover followed by salmon main and beef wellington. Both were delicious and cooked to perfection. Amazing ambiance and great atmosphere. Whole family enjoyed it thoroughly and will definitely be back, thank you!

We visit regularly as love the location and style of H&W. The service is always good and food has never been a let down. The last few visits have been more disappointing as so many items not available. It’s only basic items such as eggs but this takes out a lot on offer. I plumped for a scotch egg as thought this would be pre-made to be told this was OOS too. Totally appreciate they are busy but there’s a Supermarket 3 mins away! Then ordered a hot chocolate to be told there was no milk!!!! It’s not the waitress’ fault so I’m never rude, but out of milk too?! Will return and Hope the ordering/buying of stock has improved.

Tried and tested in the summer for drinks, we wanted to try this place out for a brunch setting for something light and easy to tie us over for New Year’s Eve. The restaurant was busy but spacious, feeling as if we had enough room for our table of two and we were comfortable at the table with a good ambience next to the river, the all glass windows make it a very nice view at the table inside or out, for the purposes of this review we were inside and it was the middle of the day. Service seemed welcoming at the start and we were told of a significant number of out-of-stock items of the menu which detracted from our overall experience as there was already a reduced menu for New Years. You would expect a restaurant expecting to be busy would have sufficient stock in time for a full service across New Year’s Eve and the evening. I think the delivery was arriving as we sat down for food but this obviously did nothing for us until it was unloaded. The service throughout was sufficient but nothing to write home about and nothing worthy of a tip. There was a bare minimum attentiveness to our table and there’s not much to add on that - We got what we expected but not much more. The drinks menu was very generous in terms of selection and we opted for soft drinks, at £3.20-£3.60 (exact amounts escape me) this seemed steep but we received a sizeable pint glass with ‘ice and a slice’ that meant it was a refreshing and welcome addition to the meal. However, £3.20 does seem quite steep for an otherwise cheap drink; this was not refillable or bottomless like some places who command higher prices. The food itself is where the score for this review probably is lifted slightly; despite the lack of selection the double cheese burger was very nice, the bacon topped burger used good ingredients and packed a good flavour. A different sauce option for this would have been nice but I’m sure if you asked it could be changed. The burger would have been nice with the tempura battered onions but these were out of stock. The only thing I will say about the menu is that Hall and Woodhouse balances between catering for the crowds and those who want quirky and different, the use of things like piccalilli and caramelised onion attempted to add character to the menu but presented a menu that was unsure on it’s intentions. I can’t say I noticed much of a dessert menu so would be completely unfair to comment on these; this was a brunch occasion so unlikely to have had one anyway. For two meals, one lunch sandwich and one burger and two drinks, our bill came to £27.20. This was reasonable and to be expected given the approach Hall and Woodhouse have taken, it does seem value for money on the face of things and the food is tasty, but it’s a menu that lacks a proper identity so fully open to interpretation. It would be fair to say our experience was average, not very good or excellent; it would be unfair to say it was worse than average and although on this occasion we did not feel the food was great, as a destination for drinks in the summer after a walk, it is absolutely spot on. Perhaps a summer addition of tapas on the menu would be welcomed?

I ordered a small red wine as I was driving later in the dat and was served a regular one. This was changed for me. We ordered our meals and I ordered scrambled eggs and salmon, but they came with an omelette with vegetables in. Completely wrong item. They did offer to change it, but we were in a bit of a hurry so I ate some of it, but my stomach felt bad all day. The staff need to be more attentive. This is the second time we have visited within a month and we were not impressed with meals.We have however come over and had drinks, but just wish the restaurant side could be better.

The service was slow, the phone was ringing for the entire visit that nobody answered which is quite frustrating. . The food was lovely and the staff were polite however.

Good looking restaurant with woefully inadequate food and some frankly very aggressive staff. We had booked a Family lunch for 1pm which arrived cold a whole hour later and was mostly pretty disgusting. Our starters of four sourdough bread and butter arrived as cold stale burnt toast 40 minutes after we ordered it and to be far they agreed to refund the £16 this cost, sadly that was the only good point in this dreadful visit. The fried eggs on two dishes were not properly cooked, the honey roasted ham was out of a tin, the triple cooked chips tasted of cardboard the veggie burgers were okay but smothered in a nondescript sauce with broken up bits of what appeared to be onion rings which tasted like deep fried cardboard. Some customer service training genuinely wouldn’t go amiss and one girl in particular could benefit from some voice moderation and anger management skills I cannot recommend the food at all but the location is quite nice. Perhaps have a coffee or a cold drink and try not to rile the servers and you might be alright. We won’t be returning

Lovely location and decor but consistently average food. Today ordered the all day breakfast but every single item was cold.

We had a party of 10 to celebrate an 80th birthday. Several elderly people with limited mobility and certain dietary requirements.They found us our own area and refocused it from Christmas to Birthday.From moment one Abi and the team could not have done more. No service was not quick, but they were busy and we were in no rush, the speed of delivery fitted our timings very well. Complicated orders turned up with the right person and lots of personal attention. The food seems to have improved over the last year since I visited and was reasonably priced and decent portions. Steaks cooked just as required and all suitably hot. I would highly recommend this place for future events.

Service tonight was awful. We watched the food sat on the service area for 15 minutes.When I said it was cold they apologised and offered to take it back but tbh we was starving at this stage so didn’t want another long wait.Because we complained we was given a very wide berth.When it came to desert was asked “do you want the bill” it was assumed because I complained I wouldn’t was a pudding, “ we was starving at this stage”, again we was made feel awkward for complaining . We ordered a desert but again I got a Cold dessert. At this stage I wasn’t going to complain as it was obvious it was falling on deaf ears. Was give. £20 off the bill but this wasn’t what I wanted.All I wanted was decent meal. Ended up paying £58 for a mediocre meal. Wouldn’t recommend as a result of my experience

This was our first visit to the Hall & Woodhouse. We used the website, which made reserving our table for lunch very easy and from the moment we entered, we were made to feel valued and welcome. The attention to detail for the building itself is first class, with the canal side theme continued throughout, even down to the very clean toilets. The hard working and efficient staff are a credit to the company, and the food very good too, all highly recommended.

From the moment we walked in a very welcoming visit. The waitress Maria was lovely - great customer service - have to be honest we did get the wrong food - a vegetable tagine rather than a steak but it was delicious. Would highly recommend and will definitely return.

Fantastic visit for our Daughter's 18th birthday. I had dropped a few table decorations off in advance and everything was set up along with a Happy Birthday message on the table. The food was excellent, and although we were warned that there would be a delay as they were busy, the wait was no longer than I would normally expect. Everything was well cooked and the service was excellent.Thank you, we will be back!

We visited during half term for a family lunch. We were given a table by the window with a lovely view of the lake. The food we had was tasty. The meals here are quite large. Our server Danielle was excellent. Even though she was run off her feet due to short staffing, she was very attentive and even offered to take our photograph. Thank you for a lovely family lunch.

We recently went here for Sunday lunch. The restaurant was large and on the canal, the staff were fine. However the food was very ordinary, Sunday lunch at its most unexciting.

Really nice food and good service, had a great time. Went for a friend’s birthday and she enjoyed it.Wheelchair access & disabled toilet information:Overall: Good access and would recommend.Plenty of disabled parking outside and gentle sloped access. Wide doorways to enter but the doors aren’t automatic so may need help with opening. Mostly flat and accessible inside. There’s quite an open plan style with plenty of width to get around. All doorways are nice and wide. Good space between tables to manoeuvre around. There are a small amount of tables that are up a step (and some in a boat!), but vast majority are on the flat. We got a river view table that was accessible. Nicely tiled disabled / baby changing toilet. Not huge inside but space to manoeuvre. A standard, basic disabled loo so plenty of rails but no hoist or adult changing. A heads up the red emergency cord doesn’t hang all the way to the ground if you’re a fall risk. Door is manageable but quite heavy. Had a nice time and would definitely go here again.

Second time of eating here around 7pm in the evening and both times, two or three menu items weren’t available. The menu choice is okay in its entirety however gluten and/or dairy free choice is limited or non existent. Staff are very pleasant, environment in keeping with the canal and boating heritage. Fed up with a choice of salad or salad frankly and wading through pages of allergen lists instead of the meals having an icon next to it.

We went here for dinner last Friday night. The food was bland and lacked any sort of flavour or creativeness. Very basic pub grub style menu with little to wet the appetite. Seemed very chaotic as well as if they were heavily understaffed or just lacked anyone in charge. When we queried the bill because there were two pints of lager on there we never ordered no one seemed to know what to do and a total lack of leadership showed. What would have been a simple mistake to fix ended up taking twenty minutes because the girl who we queried it with just disappeared. Overall won't be going back. Not one to last long in the memory.

Lovely pub on the outskirts of Swindon, great atmosphere, good food and extremely polite and friendly staff. The boat related theme includes a canal boat within the pub which adds to the atmosphere.

Great atmosphere and lovely food. All the team were fantastic and they couldn't do enough for you. So friendly too. Mikey and Dan were brilliant, but Amy was one of the most friendly and best servers I've ever experienced. Top marks to all, you made our night!

We have visited many times here -it's always lovely. Recently we visitied for our 18th wedding anniversary. Once they knew they made a lovely little table sign with happy anniversary written on it and they made it so nice for us. The waiter was very friendly and took photos for us. It was such an amazing evening. The staff here are amazing, the food is really good, atmosphere great. Well recommended. Thanks

Initial welcome from the team was really positive and friendly. Great location and well done out. But from taking our order onwards was not great it was not busy in the restaurant but from order to food took nearly an hour and then the orders were wrongLimited menu option and the quality of the food was OK. The waitress admitted there had been loads of mistakes that evening. A real shame as lovely setting but not s place for us to revisit for food.

Never been before and we were in for a pleasant surprise! Paula our server couldn't help us enough. The food was very tasty and presentation was great. At a reasonable price.

I came in for lunch yesterday with a friend, I want to say thank you for giving us such great service and lovely food.From the minute we walked in to when we left we were very well looked after. I love the venue so always love coming to visit but this just makes it that much more enjoyable. Also, Abi’s (the friendly bar lady) make up was lovely, I loved the orange glittery eyeshadow she provided a great service, thank you!

I recently organised a surprise 50th in the restaurant. Diana the manager is very thorough and we covered everything prior to the big night.We were allowed to decorate the table and bring our private cake.It was a party of 21 people so difficult to cater for. But the food came on time for the whole party.Abi was the waitress that looked after our table. Which she did magnificently all night.I would highly recommend this venue for a family gathering or party.

The service, the seating and the food were all outstanding, with generous portions.The staff were very obliging and pleasant, and the whole experience was a pleasure, making the trip from Bristol to Swindon most enjoyable. I have never felt this way about any restaurant before, so I;m keeping this one for future visits.The use of the Boat to give the impression of boating in the area was cleverly achieved by the placement of several boating objects, especially the placing of a large barge within the eating area, and having tables built into its structure.

Party of 12 for 18th birthday. Everything brilliant - could not fault anything from the food, staff or setting. Our waitress, Julia was polite, quick and had the patience of a saint, but to be fair all the staff here are lovely and nothing is too much trouble. Meals all came together and were lovely. Had to wait a while for some drinks but the place was packed solid so expected some delay. Puddings were delicious and cocktails really nice. Brilliant sports bringing birthday cake out and having the whole place singing Happy Birthday was special and hilarious at the same time. Would definitely recommend and will go back time and time again.

I particularly liked the maritime furnishings with their attention to detail. The very friendly service is particularly to be highlighted. Our food and beer Forum were very tasty. The butternut squash soup and the bread is highly recommended. I come from Berlin in Germany.

Would just like to say a massive thank you to the team at Hall and woodhouse in Swindon. We have just had the most amazing family / friends meal there. With an fantastic setting next to canal, and bright bubbly friendly staff, with the added extra of a very clean and well polished dining area and facilities. They superbly catered for a three course meal for a large group of twenty plus, the food coming out all at the same time so no one ate alone!Special thanks to Abby for juggling plates, drinks and constant requests from the group, a meal that would of suffered without her. Thank you again Hall and Woodhouse!

Have visited this venue before, but this was a first time visit to sample their breakfast menu, served from 9.30am. Visited with friends after taking a short walk along the canal which runs alongside this venue. We were well looked after by Abi who was very efficient and made us feel welcome. Good choice on the menu, I opted for a traditional English whilst my wife opted for scrambled eggs & salmon on sourdough. Other options included cereals and pancakes. Quality was excellent and would certainly recommend. Thank you again Abi and the rest of the team at H&W

Lovely vibe in the place. Beautiful lights and environment. Service and food was good. Steak and tangle pie was to die for. Not a huge fan of honey roast ham though - Very basic and not worth the price you pay. Would definitely come back for the desert recommended by the staff - chocolate and Orange torte.

My wife and I visited as one of our early post-freedom day meals. We started by sharing a scotch egg and sausage roll which were very tasty, accompanied by a glass of wine each.We chose steak, flat iron for her and rib eye for me. They were perfectly cooked (medium rare) and accompaniments were nice.We were too full for pudding.There was plenty of space between the tables and the service was good with the location, next to the canal, being pleasant.The price was reasonable.

Excellent table service from Danielle during our dinner booking on the 30th August. The restaurant was busy (bank holiday) but Danielle did a great job in looking after us for the duration of our meal.Great family friendly pub/restaurant on the outskirts of Swindon. The fish and chips is highly recommended.Nice work team.

We got a selection of starters and sides to create our own little tapas and it was amazing! The Camembert was cooked perfectly. Despite us being too greedy and ordering too much, it was an excellent dinner. Will definitely be coming back!

Had a really lovely breakfast this morning at H&W Swindon. The setting is fab and the staff, especially our waitress Abi, were so polite and nothing was too much trouble. We both had the full English and some cheeky pancakes to share, all of which was delicious. Hubby recommends the freshly squeezed orange juice and the flat whites. We'll definitely be back. The building is so quirky, with really interesting nautical decor and a travel theme, with some tables inside a train carriage, and others with fold down train seats for chairs! This made it immediately feel like a comfortable and fun place to eat. The location by a river is lovely.The staff were lovely, our waitress was really sweet and did a great job with our order including my requests to ensure I received a vegan version, and despite it being seemingly packed to capacity the service was not too slow.The food itself was delicious, I had the betroot and potato fritters to start which had a unique wasabi dressing. The vegan burger was delicious with lots of toppings and cheeze, and a tasty burger dressing on the side. We were all stuffed by the end of it.My only complaint would be that it was not clear that we would be charged extra for certain things such as chips with the burger, and the bill seemed rather expensive. Overall I would recommend for a tasty meal in a unique setting.

We've been here a few times now and really like the decor, ambience, food and beers. It's very relaxed and you can take your dog.We're big fans of cocktails and Dan has done a couple of good one's over the last couple of weeks - let him experiment a bit more please!We will be back and keep up the great work

Lovely place, great atmosphere and friendly staff! The food was amazing and of high quality. Despite a slight mix up with our order at the start it was swiftly rectified. The smoked salmon and scrambled eggs were the best I’ve ever eaten! My only negative is I wish you offered a children’s breakfast menu, half size portions, four American pancakes and trimmings was just a little too much for my Daughter.

As always, had such a great time at dinner. This time, I wanted to bring my family and needless to say they loved it, everything about it. A special thanks to Maria-Diana for her care, patience and good humor! Grazie mille!!!

Booked online, swiftly got a reply. Meal for 2 in restaurant. We were shown our seats quickly and the waitress came over with water immediately. After choosing baked camembert that came with two pots of soda bread, crispy, relish more than enough for two, garnish, and some crackers which were fine. Piping hot cheese and beautifully tasteful. We had our main course after a small wait which was fine. We had both ordered a burger, mine was chicken. Hot, tasty, very messy to eat but that was fun. We ordered a cheesecake between us for a pudding. All the food was hot that needed to be, everything served with a smile. The staff were friendly, polite, attentive. The food was great quality and worth what we paid. The atmosphere and decor was brilliant. Definitely recommend and will return again soon.

Came here for my mums birthday and did not disappoint. Waiting staff were friendly and attentive, with nothing too much of a bother. Food was outstanding. Best i’ve had in a while! Hall & Woodhouse itself is lovely inside and out. Will be back again!!

Went to Hall & Woodhouse after viewing the new breakfast menu on Facebook. We were seated quickly, restaurant had a beautiful feel & was relaxed. Mikey took our drink order in great time along with our breakfast choices. The ultimate hot chocolate (recommended by Mikey) was better than the picture looks! Dark chocolate so not too sweet & full of flavour,added marshmallows, flake & toffee to compliment. Soon after our pancake stacks arrived - great portions for the price. The pancakes were tasty & cooked well - highly recommend. Mikey checked in as to whether anything else was needed & was professional,polite & friendly during our time here. I look forward to returning, thank you ☺️

We were served by Abbie and she was brilliant! So attentive and extremely kind to our daughter. Nothing was too much trouble for her which certainly restored our faith in dining out in Swindon again!

Staff very professional, friendly and caring. Food exactly as we ordered I did not want chips or a bun with my burger, and had a big bowl of salad instead.

Stopped for a drink during a walk along the canal, however we were enticed buy menu with multiple options for both vegetation and vegan customers. We chose a vegetation option which was full of flavour and tantalised the taste buds from the first mouth full. We then shared a dessert and a coffee which was as enjoyable as the main course.We will defiantly be retuning again soon.. p.s. there is also a micro brewery … enough said :)
