Went to the half way house for some dinner with a friend, our food was brought out by a server called Katie who made our experience really great, Katie was friendly.

Katie has been absolutely amazing, she found us the perfect table for our meal, and then found us somewhere cosy to sit finish our drinks and watch the football match. She deserves a pay rise and some extra comfy shoes.

Normally love the place. Ordered a cheese pizza with walnuts. Brought it out with no walnuts ( run out ) so asked for mushrooms instead. Gave me breakfast button mushrooms, not flat mushrooms. Didn't enjoy it at all!!!! Should have asked fur something else , but I'm too soft!

We go to the halfway house alot. Love the pizzas and the new choice is fantastic. Gone up in price but everything has so to be expected, the Diamond lager is the best beer anywhere

This is a lovely restaurant, a bit out of Blackpool but a taxi costs about £10 to get there, this was our first visit and it didn’t let us down, the meals are absolutely lovely with plenty to eat, staff friendly and very helpful, would recommend it to anyone

Chose off the menu one meal of 2 courses and one meal of 3 courses. These were on offer but we didn’t want the free soft drink of coke on tap but 2 small bottles of coke. We were told there would be a charge for the coke substitutes. Which was fine but we were charged £10 extra. We queried the cost and was told the till had charged us as seperate items for all our food and stopped the offers. We were not told that as we would have chosen another soft drink on the offer.we were not offered any refund or resolution. Very disappointing

Had the Sunday roast, wish I hadn't. Over cooked veg, dried out roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding, drowned in flavourless gravy and 3 slices of dried out chewy beef. Looked impressive on the plate but far from it to eat. The roast potatoes were cast aside as they just were not fit to eat. I did my best to brave the rest. Doubt I will eat here again. One member of staff using the f word liberally when talking to customers having an evening meal, are not the same as those propping the bar up all evening.

Went as a group for a family meal, starters came out all seemed well, then it went downhill, an hour after for mains to appear, some luke warm beef as tough as old work boots, one meal sent back as it wasn't warm enough and it appeared again same plate simply microwaved making the beef even worse. 3 hours from start to finish and that was us cancelling the dessert, won't be going back

We used the Halfway House during a stopover at the adjacent Travelodge. The welcome was great, the selection of ales was great, and so was the food. I know that this place has recently been refurbished and reopened and all I can say is the whoever has got it now seems to be making a great deal of effort to see it becoming a real success.

We went in one evening some years ago for a meal-took one look at the few dishes-nothing looked appetising so decided to just have a drink then move on. We were charged a ridiculous price for 2 glasses of Harvey's Bristol Cream-we drank them & left! There was about as much atmosphere as a derelict house on a dessert island! It's been shut that long now it's an eyesore with its scaffolding-plastic sheets & rubble & no sign of anyone working on it. We pass this eyesore every day when we go for petrol or shopping. It's just there-on the corner of St. Annes Road & Squires Gate Lane!

looks like new people again trying to keep this place going---I do wish them all the luck in the world----prices not too bad and although the place looks a little empty it was clean and tidy---keep on fighting.

what used to be a very busy destination pub is now hanging on by a thread--up for sale again, it seems no one has the magic potion to see this once great pub back to the glory days.

After reading the absolute nonsense that has been posted on here I feel that I need to write this review..... Myself and my family have visited the Halfway House on several occasions over the last few months, the14th March being one of these occasions, I can only suggest these posts have been wrote for malicious reasons as the landlady is extremely friendly and very welcoming. Also the night in question there was a charity event on to raise money for a local charity, something which they do regularly! Since taking over the halfway house a couple of months ago the pub has been completley transformed with more and more local customers returning, something i'm sure they wouldn't do if the landlady and landlord were anything like they've been described! The person who wrote the review also claims to have overheard other people commenting on the landlady's attitude and the landlord being drunk, at this point I reported their review as I was there for the whole of the charity event and at NO point did I see the landlord drunk or the landlady being rude and unwelcoming. What I did see was a busy pub with friendly staff and people enjoying their evening therefore I can only suggest that this review has been made for malicious reasons by somebody who has been affected by the recent success of the Halfway House.

friday 14/3/14 / new landlord/landlady. Decor not bad ,barstaff efficient, friendly, and smiley. food overpriced but nice. What was a surprise was the sour faced landlady who looked at us like we were dirt on the floor, couldnt even raise a smile. Also full of children, even after 9pm, all running riot as if they were in a youth club. The landlord was friendly but very drunk. The landladys attitude made us feel unwelcome and many other people commented that she would be the reason they wouldnt visit again.

This was a last minute decision. Bank Holiday Monday needed a Sunday roast !!!!. Well was told about this place a few weeks ago but just never had the time. There was just me and hubby and the two kids. We arrived and the bar was a little quite but busier in the food area. We paid for our food. £20 for 2 adult carvery, 2 children and 4 drinks (2 alcoholic). Great value. The food was lovely, no dried up meat on this carvery, turkey, beef and steak. Loads of veg all fresh and amazing roast pots and gravy. There was no menu that I could see but all I wanted was a carvery anyway. I will be back :-)

Went for breakfast twice and drinks on and off as we were stopping just around the corner. Food took an age to come out and was mildly warm. Nice though - just cold. Drinks cheap. Service hit & miss at the bar. Some really dodgy smelly people queuing to get in at 0800. But we were in at 0800 as well so not judging at all. It's a Wetherspoons. Some better than others. This is one of the not better ones.
