I arrived shortly before closing, as I looked like I was wasting away from hunger the staff kindly cooked me a sausage and egg barm. I will definitely come back for the tasty sausage, perfectly cooked egg and Yorkshire tea, what more can a hungry traveller ask for.

We were on a very enjoyable trip to the bay and Heysham and this place looked like a nice place to stop for a bite to eat. Tables were quite busy and there was a queue inside, so it looked like a popular place and quite promising. After a 15minute queue to order food, we waited over an hour for a jacket potato and chip butty. In that time we saw empty tables gain customers and order food. To our dismay, some actually got food before we did. After venturing inside several times and being told we were next, my food arrived and I had just about finished before my wife’s jacket potato came which was rock solid! I’m not sure how you can get a simple menu so wrong and take that long. Don’t know what else to say - apart from we paid £20 and gave them a £2.50 tip up front! So disappointing….

Came today to try out the cafe as always pass it but never stopped for food before. Upon entry you now have to pay for car parking and I have been a local resident for years this used to be free! Arriving in the cafe they have a very minimal cafe whiteboard menu however it has no pricing. We asked for two paninis which ended up costing us £17.80 which we didn’t know would be the price until we had to pay. ABSOLUTE RIP OFF. So at that price we was expecting the best paninis as resteraunts in town offer full meals for that price. Disappointing as stale bread. The ham and cheese panini was grated cheese melted down with one wafer thin peice of ham. The other panini which was sweet chilli chicken had no taste at all. Staff didn’t come to check if food was okay after serving. We ate what we could and left straight away. Will never return here again, I’m all for supporting local businesses but this was disappointing and extortionate

The cafe is located on the edge of the beach just to the north of Heysham power station and close to the national trust coastal pathway. This makes it an ideal place to visit before a day on the beach or a walk along the wonderful coastline. The menu was very comprehensive and included all of the regular cafe essentials as well as catering for customers with allergies. The food was excellent, all freshly cooked, good portions and reasonably priced and the outside seating areas provide wonderful views while eating your meals The staff were also very friendly and helpful.

EMBARRASSING excuse for a cafe, paid 11.30 for a chips and curry sauce a ham salad and a latte. Paper thin ham, cucumber and tomatoes soft and not fresh in the slightest. NOT chips but fries(if your advertising chips then I want chips) animic looking under cut FRIES served with the worst wishy washy powdered SAUCE ????? I have ever had the misfortune to eat. Even the seagulls turned off with my scraps. Oh and just to finish things off the latte was just watered down milk that might have had coffee hovered over it. We used to enjoy a visit to this cafe but haven’t been for a while. Lovely sunny day thought we would enjoy the view. Lovely view dreadful meal Along with the over congested tables and chairs and music the food was not brilliant. A “large” breakfast was a joke with dry thin slice of black pudding and a spoon of beans! Hash browns were extra! Chicken burger with a garden full of lettuce and huge chunky rings of taw ted onion and a smear of garlic mayo. And how do you manage to over cook frozen chips to a stage were they are hard and no potato left? Don’ get me started on the “cappuccino” a paper cup full of wishy washy milk, no flavour and no froth. When I took them back was told the machine is playing up can I make you more. asked if it could be stronger and told they use a one shot but I could have another shot. When it eventually turned up not much different at all to the first ones. £3.25 for the privilege!!!! I just couldn’t drink it. Maybe cost cutting exercises? - we certainly will not be going back. None of this served with a smile!

On a rainy day during our recent trip to Lancashire, we explored Morecambe and then drove to Heysham. We'd seen the café on the map and, owing to the rain, it was essential that we popped in for a snack. We ordered teas and a soft drink, with two slices of a chocolate/mint traybake, a cookie and a hotdog as food. The mint slices and hot dog were enjoyed, although the chocolate chip cookie was tasteless. The people in the café were friendly to us and our two dogs who were also grateful to get out of the rain (and to chase the flies that came in over the time we were there). Overall, this café is ideally situated for a cup of tea, and it's a bonus that they have a range of food to accompany that sustenance. They use paper cups and plates throughout, which could be a consideration depending on how the individual feels about this choice.

Ordered two coffees and two scones which were advertised with cream, jam and butter, the butter was horrible greasy margarine and the cream soon evaporated as it was the squirty cream not fresh / clotted, as I assumed it would be. Opted to sit inside as it was too cold to sit out, lovely roaring fire going but it was an open kitchen making the whole place stink of cooking fat and food, was quite glad to get out in the fresh air afterwards. Location perfect but not sure we’d rush back.

We visited today after looking for a takeaway meal. I was pleasantly surprised to be offered the entire menu to takeaway. We chose the cheese burger. The burger was well cooked and juicy, the brioche bun was lightly toasted and a good slice of real cheese. This was served in a cardboard box ( a vast improvement on polystyrene). Whilst I was waiting for the burger to be cooked, I was drawn to the home made cakes on display. Spoilt for choice, I selected the millionaires shortbread. This was delicious.

I've visited this establishment a handful of times whilst living in Lancaster. I often used to visit with my partner and his parents but occasionally when went on our own. The first time, we were surprised and delighted with the vegetarian hot dogs which were a unique option given this was a small cafe on a beach in Heysham. Usually, establishments in this neck of the woods will blink dumbfounded at you when you ask for vegetarian options that aren't just 'egg'. We came back a few times just to eat their vegetarian hot dogs because they were so good. But I did always feel that the staff had a rotten attitude, especially the manager who seemed to have a judgmental sneer for anyone who wasn't her friend. But even so, we went back because we loved the beach and we usually ate outside to avoid her. The last time we went was appalling. In the process of moving and leaving Lancaster - predominantly because of this type of behaviour from everyone who lives there - we treated ourselves for a couple of hours away from packing. We arrived an hour before closing and queued behind a young couple (sixteen or seventeen) who seemed to know the manager. She proceeded to pass them hot food in takeaway boxes and I saw no money exchanged so I guess they were indeed friends. She sent them on their way after we'd been waiting around for ten or so minutes. Should have left, I realise that now but we always gave their bad attitude in the past the benefit of the doubt. What a mistaker to maker. We tried to order hot food, she said they were no longer serving hot food. I glanced behind to the two just leaving with their hot food and asked again for a bacon bap and a vegetarian hot dog - like, come on? And she just sneered and repeated herself. She then pointed to the cheese sandwiches (we're both lactose intolerant) and suggested a cold drink, as they'd stopped serving hot drinks too. My partner and I looked at each other and said no way. He suggested a bottle of water but I said to him and the manager, "no thanks, I have one in the car." To which she shrugged because obviously she'd made enough money for the day and didn't want anymore. Evidently, this establishment has got all the money they need now so they don't need paying customers anymore. *sigh*. So I guess we don't have to go back and give them anymore money. Good for them. I guess they'll be shutting up shop now, yeah? Obviously not. Still dumbfounded by this woman's attitude and it made me feel quite ill if I'm honest. Yet another reason to never visit this cafe, or this area quite frankly, since this seems to be the attitude of most of them.

Visited here for the first time, as we often pass it walking the beach. Asked for a latte and a tea. The latte is as £2.80, and when I went to drink it it VC tasted like hot water and fake powder. The cups are all marked with recycle logos but in this case the contents of the cup were also recycled down a drain. Plus what is the point of recycled cups if you don’t provide a recycle bin? Sorry, I am always a mostly positive reviewer but this was the worst I have ever had.

Went on a Sunday afternoon, in glorious sunshine. Cafe is isolated so has a captive market next to the beach. Waited 30 mins (with multiple reminders) for two bacon panini. Very disappointed, as bacon was tasteless, and bread dry as a bone. After 30 mins we were so hungry we just ate, then left. Decor is very poor, and lack of any nearby competition clearly shows they get away with poor offerings. Could not recommend to anyone, and would not go back.

Unpretentious little cafe. An excellent outdoor seated area where dogs are welcome. The views across the bay are stunning. My wife had soup and I indulged in a sausage, bacon, egg and black pudding bap. Just what the doctor ordered.

Great little informal cafe with none of the uniform-wearing 'branding' and associated "mission statement" language from the staff. Yet within the informality lies considerable attention to detail with rapid table clearance, removal of spillage, regularly cleaned toilet by the hard-working staff. Given the size of the premises a really wide variety of food is available - indeed I have never asked for any combination which has not been possible! The vegetable soup is particularly excellent as are Jade's cakes. Yes there was a fly problem last autumn (as mentioned by other reviewers) but that was a product of the weather conditions conspiring to produce large numbers of tideline flies on the nearby beach and a proportion of these entered the café. This will obviously not happen every year and is something which is going to be an occasional seasonal problem with an 'open plan' café with outdoor as well as indoor tables. I use the café all year round - office nearby

We often visit the Half Moon Bay cafe. The views are amazing all year round. In winter the cafe is heated by a log burner. What more could you ask. Hearty breakfast and steaming mugs of tea of coffee. Very dog friendly. Several covered outdoor tables. Free car park across the road. Beach walks or grassy areas for dogs to run. Watch the waves from your table.

A small cafe just thirty yards from the beach. The tables that are outside offer superb views across Morecambe Bay.This cafe is also very dog friendly hence the high numbers of dog owners who like to frequent it.The range of food is limited but is always well prepared and tasty.A small complaint is that I think the staff could be a bit more friendly.Indeed a couple of them give the impression that they would rather be elsewhere.I personally am prepared to overlook this given the fact that I can sit quietly and take in the scenery.Parking can be had across the road from the cafe no more than fifty yards away.

I've lived in Lancashire all my life and had never been to Heysham so decided to take my dogs for a run on the headland there and stumbled across the Half Moon Bay Cafe.

Decided to visit Heysham village, which was an interesting place. Then we walked along the sea front to this cafe. We were hungry and decided to have the full English breakfast. Went to the counter and gave our order to a miserable young lady, who clearly gave the impression she wished she was somewhere else. The breakfast was average. I got a piece of gristle in one of the sausages.

my husband and myself had gone to heysham beech to do a spot of metal detecting and had arrived on another side of the beech than previously thanks to the sat nav ! however I'm glad we did , after 3 hours of walking with the dogs and seeking treasure ( found 2 pence !) we were in need of a good cup of coffee and at the half moon café that's exactly what we got , its a small café just off the beech where you can sit indoors or outside if you've got dogs and look across the bay , you are protected by a clear Perspex windbreak which is very handy .

We went here for breakfast. Looked around and decided not to bother. Asked for a pot of tea for two and was given two small mugs of tea instead! Too bad we'd already paid. Doors open everywhere - flies everywhere - lovely view, but not going in this cafe again.
