Half Cup in Camden

I’m giving this a mid rating because I think the food is a bit overrated and overpriced. I found the menu pretentious & trying too hard to be different rather than good. I had the avocado waffle & I just wasn’t a fan of all the different flavours going on. It wasn’t horrible but I wouldn’t have it again especially for how expensive it was. I also had a smoothie which was £7 which even for London I thought was an extortionate price when it wasn’t anything particularly special. Can’t fault the staff though they were lovely & very efficient especially considering how busy it was. I’d maybe give it another chance & try something different on the menu but won’t be rushing

Visited last Sunday. Arrived just after opening, and a queue was already forming outside. Lucky enough to get the last window seat inside. Everything on the menu sounded delicious, so it was difficult to decide what to have. Went for the rhubarb pancakes and was not disappointed. Amazing!! Great chatty atmosphere inside. I am very pleased with the choice for breakfast. Would highly recommend.

A nice place for a comforting breakfast !! The cappuccino was good and the waffle with fried chicken delicious !! It is the perfect place to start the day and near Saint Pancras so no need to go far for a good breakfast after your train journey 👍🏻

I was having a rough day and hadn’t planned on stopping by this coffee shop, but the terrace caught my eye, so I decided to sit for an hour, enjoy a coffee, and make a few phone calls. As I went in to order some pastries, the waitress greeted me with the warmest smile, and the atmosphere inside was just lovely. From the outside it looks like a small local spot, but there’s actually a surprisingly spacious seating area inside. The terrace was perfect, and I really enjoyed my time there. By the time I finished my coffee, my mood had completely shifted. I didn’t exchange many words with the staff, but their kind smiles and the welcoming vibe were more than enough to brighten my day.(8.10.2025 10:30)

Half cup English breakfast was good. And the latte/cappuccino great. Wife ordered the asapargus prosciutto duck egg which was just okay. Hummus/pesto in it was cold so it was a bit weird, wouldn't order again. Restaurant had great vibes and atmosphere. Would come again.

The loveliest little cafe discovered whilst wandering kings cross. Food was INCREDIBLE and the waiting team were fab. Highly recommend the chicken waffle and the glorious bun!

The Gravlax dish was amazing and surprisingly tastey and fresh. Will come back just for this dish for sure.

Amazing ! The servers were really sweet, the coffee was good and the food was really tasty. We ate two English breakfasts, special mention to the crispy bacon, and also tried the rhubarb pancakes ! They were a very nice surprise, with a true home made taste. They also gave us water with mint, and when the first was finished they brought a second one. (Don’t forget to taste the brown sauce with your breakfast if you haven’t tried it !) . I recommend !!

Trust me and get the chicken & waffles. You can thank me later.

If you’re after an impromptu coffee or brunch joint around King’s Cross, Half Cup is a solid shout. That being said, we turned up fifteen minutes before opening and there was already a crowd gathering. Ten minutes later and the place was packed with that familiar mid-morning brunch buzz — always a good sign if you ask me. The menu is huge with plenty of variety. Whether you’re feeling sweet, savoury, or somewhere in between, you’ll find something that’ll catch your eye. I went straight in for the Fried Chicken and Waffle and honestly, words don’t do it justice. Buttermilk-marinated chicken thighs on a house waffle, drenched in gochujang sauce and a generous hit of kimchi mayo. Crispy, juicy, fiery, comforting — basically everything you want on a slightly grey London morning. And don’t even get me started on the matcha line-up. I ordered the Mango oat matcha and it was heavenly. Smooth, sweet, and looked epic — it felt almost criminal to drink it (almost). The only slight niggle? The seating layout is a little tight — chairs and tables fighting for space — but it’s a small price to pay for a place with this much charm and atmosphere. Once you’re settled, it’s easy to forget about the squeeze. All in all, Half Cup nails it. Great food, great coffee, great vibe. Top up your caffeine levels, fill your belly, and get on with your day feeling smug. We’ll definitely be back.

Amazing food, slightly high prices, and a bit of a queue. The menu is great and changes seasonally (I think), and everything we tried was amazing. There is always a bit of a queue but it moves fast. The seating is also quite nice, although the tables are quite close to each other (which I guess could be considered good as it decreases wait time). Will be visiting again!

Muy caro y algunos platos muy pequeños. Segunda visita. Primero fue genial. Después de esto, no volverá. Mal servicio - el camarero nos hizo sentir como servirnos era una tarea. Además, el inodoro fuera de servicio - y yo tenía que ir! Cuando me quedé si había otro, él sólo dijo un piso, "No".

A nice breakfast place, with many options to choose from. Can get a bit crowded and loud. The food is good as are the portions.

Good food at a reasonable price within easy walking distance of Kings Cross. Was busy so worth booking if possible. Wait was about 20 minutes to get seated and similar to get food due to how busy it was. Food once it came was to a high standard and generous sized portions.

Wow, this is an amazing breakfast place! The Oreo French toast is a kid-pleaser, the eggs were amazing. Try the mocha or hot chocolate, it is made with real chocolate and tastes heavenly. This is a substantial meal; we were full for the next 8 hours.

This is a must visit in London. Me and my friend come here every time we’re in London (a couple of times a year) and it never fails to wow us. The prices are expensive but the quality of the food is exceptional. You can tell they take care in everything they do. The staff are all lovely, welcoming and warm. The atmosphere is wonderful, with art painted on the walls and comfortable seats. It’s dog friendly too! I would recommend everything pictured: scrambled eggs, hash browns, salmon bagel, granola, ube latte, caramel matcha, it was all fantastic.

I can’t recommend this breakfast enough—definitely a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in a delicious meal!

Really glad we stumbled across Half Cup. Had almost a twist on breakfast classics. Was delicious and the plates look amazing, either piled high with waffle chicken or well presented/decorated avocado toast. Would highly recommend! Just be wary at what time you go because it can get v busy.

Very good spot for brunch. The menu is great, the decor is nice, the playlist is super catchy. The staff is very attentive. The only downside is that the prices are a little high. But I will go back with pleasure 😊

(About pickpocketing during service and meals) We ordered Pancakes and Half cup (English breakfast). However, the chicken toast and waffles of the table next to us, who ordered later than us, came out first. We waited for about 10 minutes and only after talking to the server were we able to receive our food. I think it took about 30 minutes to receive the food after ordering. They didn't even provide us with knives, so we ate with a fork for a while, but when we happened to see the table next to us eating with knives, we had to ask for one again. Still, I felt relieved for a moment when they said they would deduct the cost of the coffee, but then a woman showed me a piece of paper saying she had a starving child and asked for money. I refused a few times, but I didn't give up, so I opened the bag to give him 1 pound. But the woman sat down next to me with her arms around me and put her hand in my bag. I was very embarrassed and asked, “Why are you putting your hand in your bag?” I argued with her, and the woman smiled and walked away, gently moving her hand to her son's cell phone on the table. Luckily, my son spotted it right away and grabbed his phone. We were sitting inside the restaurant, not on the terrace, and even though a pickpocket entered the restaurant and was running rampant, the server did not intervene (e.g. kick the woman out or ask me if I was okay) and just looked at me from afar and gave me a look (?) that felt like ‘I can’t help it, so please understand.’ Customers around me said, “Check your bag quickly,” so I was able to check my bag. Pickpockets are very bold so be careful. The food was delicious, but my heart was pounding and I was upset that I almost left it behind.

Leuk eettentje met heerlijke gerechten! Mijn dochter had de French oreo toast, wat echt verrukkelijk was! Ik was blij dat mijn dochter hem niet helemaal opkreeg, zodat ik er nog wat van kon eten. Zelf had ik de avocadotoast gekozen, wat ook erg lekker was! Als we ooit nog eens in de buurt zijn, komen we zeker terug!

This cafe is located on Judd Street, near King’s Cross, about a 15 mins walk from the Underground Station, making it easy to find. The staff are polite and cheerful, and the atmosphere is pleasant. They also have outdoor seating. We ordered the Golden Turmeric & Ginger Latte, Ube Latte, Oreo French Toast, and Half Cup Full English Breakfast. Except for the French toast, the quality of the food and drinks was excellent! I look forward to trying other items on the menu next time!

At over £50 for brunch for two, Half Cup sets the bar very high. The chicken waffle was very good, with a generous portion and really well seasoned. While the coffee was “above average” by London standards, it was still a bit disappointingly far from being excellent. The coconut spiced chai latte was nice enough, just a little too weak and milky — but perhaps that’s the local taste though. The veg full breakfast is a solid option, but none of the elements were “wow”, such as halloumi that was a little overcooked and dry. The staff are very welcoming, and the cafe itself is a really lovely environment. Going by the wait time to be seated, this is a popular spot — if you want to visit, recommend to book ahead!

The full English breakfast is good quality and quite plentiful, no complaints. Nice atmosphere and friendly servers.

Today we went to one of the coffee shops that we had wanted to go to before, but it was very special. Obviously, I had the impression that its facade was blue when I saw it on the Internet, but what I saw in person was white. There is no problem. I have added new photos for you to refer to the latest ones. Because it is a popular store, you have to queue up in advance. If there are many people waiting, you will have to queue for more than 30 minutes. They have indoor and outdoor seats. Find your own seat. They sell different waffles and pancake products, and they also have all day breakfast. You can choose what you like to eat. What I like most is the portion size of this store. Each portion is very sufficient. Maybe if you are a girl who eats less, you will find it more. The drinks are also very unique. It can be seen that the store carefully selects their products. They provide restrooms and takeout service. Their prices are a bit expensive compared to London. The only drawback is that the space may be relatively small, so when many people are chatting, the whole store feels noisy, or it may be the so-called liveliness.

It’s horrible place. They kicked us out like 30 minutes before their closing time, while we were still having coffee. What a service. Coffee was terrible.

This place is nice and the customer service is great. The food could be better. I wouldn’t recommend ordering the smoked salmon or the sourdough as it’s not great quality and it’s overpriced.

Very good breakfast with a large choice which includes many vegetarian choices. The veg full breakfast is a solid choice! The staff is friendly, but come early or be prepared to wait in front.

What a good brunch spot! Their seasonal menu had a pistachio hot chocolate, which was absolutely divine. We ordered the full english breakfast and the shakshuka, which were delicious. I would come early, as the queue was long.

A clean place and provides good service. The staff would help you hang your winter clothes and help to take photos when needed.

Cute little brunch spot near KX! the food here is absolutely stunning. We got the avocado toast with beetroot brioche and the potato pancakes. The sauces and the plating absolutely elevated the dish. The portion is filling in my opinion and the potato pancakes were thick. The nduja complimented the dish really well along with the orange sauce on the side. The eggs on both dishes were perfectly good as well. Definitely come here if you’re looking to have an elevated brunch!

The atmosphere was nice, and most of all, the staff were very friendly! On my last day in London, I wanted to have brunch, so I visited. They kindly explained the menu and it was great. There are a lot of people who come and eat alone. The food was delicious, but it was so salty! Water is free, and they accept cash. I highly recommend it!😊😊

We found this very nice little place by chance, looking for a cafe to have brunch. We were more than impressed: more than generous portions, delicious food and very kind staff. Undisputed star of our brunches (because we returned at the end of the holiday for a second time): the fried chicken on waffles. We have no advice because we found everything perfect :) it will be an obligatory stop every time we return to London.

Half cup was so yummy! The Bombay pancakes, the scones, the dirty chai, so good! But the best part was their service. My wife didn’t eat all of her banana pancake, it was way to sweet for her taste ( though delicious). They asked her about it, apologized unnecessarily, of course, and offered us both free drinks! It was not at all necessary as we are always happy to support local family owned businesses, but it was certainly a nice touch. They earned our repeat business and for such a popular restaurant we’d queue up anytime!

English Breakfast was excellent - everything was delicious and textures combination was great. We got our order almost immediately and left the place totally satisfied.

I have always wanted to try this place since I have always seen queues outside. Although we went at an odd hour, it was still packed but decided to sit outside despite the freezing cold . We had the chicken waffle , scrambled eggs , sausage. The food was outstanding 👌, it got cold within minutes but still delicious. One of the best brunches I had in London and definitely the most perfect scrambled eggs. Definitely going back. The staff was also friendly, kind and attentive

Impersonal service and system. I walked asking to sit down for coffee but was told I needed to join the queue outside. I was made to wait in a queue outside despite there being many empty tables, after 10 mins at the front of the queue I was told I wouldn’t be allowed to sit down until my friend arrived. When she arrived 5 mins later I was allowed out of the cold and sat down i asked if we could order coffees straight away as we didn’t have much time left.., but was told no, but somebody would come to our table… after another 5-10 mins wait nobody came to us so we had to go up and ordered take away instead… and join the take away queue… after wasting 25 mins achieving nothing but stress and picking up weird vibes I wish I had gone somewhere else from the first odd interaction there.

Been going here for years. Really disappointed they are sneaking in a 12% service charge. I swear this is recent? Or maybe I’ve only just noticed. Just pay your staff. I didn’t realise it had been snuck on to my bill. I wasn’t shown the full receipt and stupidly paid. It wasn’t until I saw a waitress demand to know why someone next to me wanted it removed, that I clocked what had happened. Won’t be going back now.

THE SERVER(wearing glasses, mustache, blond) TOOK MY PHONE while I was paying. I couldn’t find my phone after he walked away. So i did find my phone using my Apple Watch, and the sound led me straight to the server, who had my phone in his apron pocket. He claimed it was a simple mistake, confusing my phone with the card payment reader. However, the two devices looked nothing alike. Food was great.

Attitude from the moment you enter is not great, very arrogant and cold. Eggs were fried in old or very cheap oil. Loose tea felt like used several cups.

Called in for breakfast. It was freshly cooked and good quality. The lady who greeted us and served us was very pleasant and welcoming. Good size portion of food too.

Great vegetarian and vegan selection amongst the offering. Great atmosphere and service if you can get a table. I thought it was a bit pricey until I saw the serving size. Excellent food
