Half Cup in Camden

Food is soooo yummy, the menu is super creative with everything from your classic full English to fried chicken and waffles and truly the BEST fried chicken ever. Superb eggs cooked perfectly and yummy hash browns. They also have a gorgeous bakery at the front if you fancy something sweet. Would definitely recommend if you want to guarantee good food. If you’re willing to compromise on an aesthetic interior then this is a must go. Your main, drink and service will cost you £15-24 depending on what you get.

Perfect.. quick, relaxed and good

There was a small line but it moved quickly. We were seated within five minutes. I ordered the butter chicken on a waffle and it was delicious! I would certainly order it again. For £17, it was worth it. The breakfast roll was okay, for £16/17 it was pretty expensive and the rhubarb dressing permeated everything and had a weird after taste.

Not vegan friendly anymore. I visited about a year ago when they had vegan options on their menu and was very pleased with the food. I went yesterday and they’ve now removed all the vegan options. A server told me that they can make the porridge vegan, which is quite disappointing. I ended up speaking with another server who said they can substitute the poached egg in the avocado toast with mushroom and remove the cheese to make it vegan. The food was okay but I feel I’ve paid the same amount of money as everyone else and got less. Not having at least one vegan option on the menu is a step backwards.

First of all, I must recommend the fried chicken waffles, the two foods go very well together! British brunch also has a very decent taste

Went on a Thurs morning and there was no line so it was perfect. We ordered chicken waffle and oyster mushroom waffle - both were very delicious and of large portion.

Absolutely loved this place!! A total gem! The food was outstanding and so well presented. The service was prompt and friendly. And the overall look and feel of the cafe was gorgeous and bright. I would highly recommend this place and I hope I can go back one day when I'm back in London.

Visited this spot yesterday with my wife as we were looking forward to a good old full English breakfast, and this place came in with very good reviews.. Absolute disappointment!! Full English breakfast had no sausage!! It has bacon but only part was cooked all right, most of the bacon was burnt to a crisp (i mean literally bacon crisps instead of grilled bacon) Hash browns and beans were industrial supermarket quality Only the mushroom, tomatoes and the one egg were fine… The toast was too hard to cut. Add to that the fact that we had to wait for a good while, and for the food to come cold or cold’ish (only the tomatoes were freshly grilled/cooked) Cherry on top is you pay £17 (+ service charge) for a less than average supposedly full English.. Worth noting that the staff were nice and friendly. But honestly what good is that if the product (and price) are a complete rip-off… To me, if you’re looking for a decent English breakfast, this place is to avoid!!!

Very busy, delicious breakfasts and brunches

Nice place, we enjoy an english breakfast and a scone for breakfast with a cup of coffee. The food was tasty, beans amazing! A little bit disappointed that the full breakfast was not so “full” though(where were black pudding and sausages? 🥹), also we have found the food a little pricey.

Cute little brunch spot near KX! the food here is absolutely stunning. We got the avocado toast with beetroot brioche and the potato pancakes. The sauces and the plating absolutely elevated the dish. The portion is filling in my opinion and the potato pancakes were thick. The nduja complimented the dish really well along with the orange sauce on the side. The eggs on both dishes were perfectly good as well. Definitely come here if you’re looking to have an elevated brunch!

We needed sustenance before our train departure from St Pancras and stumbled upon this place. It was lovely - very kid-friendly, delicious food and attentive staff. It was fairly busy but we were seated quite quickly. There were lots of options to suit various dietary requirements.

Coming with frd during weekend afternoon, it’s possible to grab a seat!!! Their Oreo French Toast & Flat White w Hazelnut were both nice !!! They also offer a wide range of breakfast & tea options. Their staff were quite friendly, always serving w smile 😊!!!

Deciding to come here for brunch we timed it well as there always seemed to be queue of people waiting to get in. Inside it was quite busy and narrow in terms of seating . The menue was diverse in terms of drink and food we chose the buttermilk fried chicken with waffles and syrup and I the oyster mushroom variant. They came out presented beautifully and the coating was light and crispy with a yummy fried egg on top. The matcha raspberry drink was also delicious. Service was really friendly, do come here but be prepared to wait or be exposed to a busy setting this place is popular!

A great place for breakfast. The food is very tasty and fresh. Generous portions of salmon with your eggs benedict. They were nice enought to change hash for sourdough with my order. The tea was hot and with hot milk on the side. Service was very nice and friendly. They have a small terrace that is quite nice Price was reasonable for London.

We were lucky enough to arrive before there was a waiting time as it seems to be a very busy place. The staff is very friendly and attentive; The brunch options are very varied and complete and in my case, the vegan brunch is 9.5. I would repeat without a doubt.

Very good breakfast. There were a lot of people, we had to wait a few minutes. The restaurant is always full. Quality food, we ate very well.

Found this cafe quite by accident. Had the most delicious porridge, toasted pineapple and a walnut and date butter, enjoyed it so much going back today. 😋

This a great place. The service is fantastic and the food / drinks good. £4.80 is perhaps a little steep for a small Chai latte, albeit it was a very good latte! I would also just say that the Veg Half Cup breakfast, while all cooked to perfection, could have had a little more flavour as it was slightly bland overall (although perhaps it would have been better with the halloumi, which I had to switch out due to an allergy sadly). Finally, the soap dispenser in the toilet had clearly been filled up with just water, which was a little annoying! But the friendly and very helpful waitress was 5-star and definitely made up for the other minor things.

Really enjoyed this place, only waited about 30mins to be seated. Had the fried chicken& waffles which is hands down one of the best brunch dishes I’ve had lately- could not recommend it more!!! The oreo french toast was also great but the chicken waffles are the clear star dish here.

Haha, it's all really good, but it's really expensive hahaha Qㅠㅠㅠ Burning 40,000 won for a bowl of breakfast + ah... Still, it's delicious so I don't regret it... Plus, the service fee is added, so the price is a bargain haha. But it's so plentiful and delicious that I can't say anything about it. If it weren't for the price, I would come again.

We were looking for a restaurant to have a typical London brunch and we were not disappointed. Hearty, quality meals of good quantity in a very pretty setting. A little wait but the servers are pleasant, smiling and attentive to our needs. If you are looking for a place to have brunch or even to drink a coffee, I recommend this place with your eyes closed. We will return there during our next stay in London 🇬🇧

A great cute cafe. We had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated and it was a little cramped but the food was really good.

We were asked to leave because 'we had been there an hour' and wanted the table back. We'd been there for maybe 15/20 minutes with hot drinks. We were going to order pastries to take out, but why bother? Coffee was bitter and I'm sure the pastries would have been just as disappointing.

The breakfasts and coffees were lovely! Hash browns were especially good 😍

I went here with my friend for lunch and totally feel in love with each and every dish on their menu! My plate came with a bowl of pure love and health! I felt so nourished after eating the food! The staff, the service, and the relaxing atmosphere where we could actually talk and enjoy the food was amazing! I will be back soon and highly recommend this place ❤️

I was quite surprised that I got seated quite quickly as I was aware that they’re usually quite busy. I ended up with a window seat which was suitable for 1 person so that was great. I love their choices of food, thus it was a difficult pick between three things. Seems like they change some bits of the menu every season as I couldn’t see some things on there from other menus that people have shared on here In the end, I opted for the Half Cup which is like the typical English breakfast and their turmeric latte. The Half Cup portion was quite big, though slightly expensive for what I’d pay for. Very filling, hash browns were soft and crispy and bacon was lovely. Sourdough bread was decent, but not amazing. I wouldn’t have this again, though as it was very filling for me. I’d opt for something slightly smaller next time. I enjoyed the latte. Very bustling atmosphere, but I found it tolerable. Service was friendly and prompt. I would have to come back here to try their other options and desserts. It is now up there on my favourite cafe spots.

Really good location for a good coffee and delicious breakfast. Went there 3 times and it was good each time. The hash Benedict and pancakes were excellent !

Would have benefitted from clearer indications of a “maximum” 1h at the table. A bit cold inside (not much heating for February) but food quite ok. Expensive - 22 GBP for an avocado sandwich and a coffee.

Our waiter elena was so kind and really went beyond the bare minimum. We sat outside and she was so attentive and even gave us all blankets since it was cold. Our food came pretty fast and the menu had a variety of options. We got the breakfast bun which was the perfect mix of eggs, spicy mayo and bacon. The bread was really soft and cooked perfectly. The oreo french toast is a must for any sweet tooth’s! I recommend for a relaxed brunch and for anyone around the area! Forgot to take pictures as we were so hungry :)

Great menu design, well balanced with great options to choose from. Portions are very generous but not overwhelming, just the right size. Staff is friendly and coffee very good. With a slightly different design I think it could be elevated even more! (Not a critic, but I love the fantastic job and I think it could be elevated even more!). Fantastic place, 100% recommended.

Went to the King's Cross location with a group of 6 friends for breakfast. I think it was before 9, and we were able to be seated quickly. I ordered the breakfast bun from the brunch menu and it was phenomenal. Two slices of cheese, half an avocado, crispy bacon, a lovely, vinegar-y sprouts slaw, toasty brioche, and a farm fresh egg. Our server was friendly and prompt, as well as accommodating, and everyone enjoyed their meal. The busy employee at the bakery counter gave a bright smile and 'thank you' on our way out. I wish I'd gone back for another coffee and to try their pastry!

We came here for tea and coffee at the suggestion of a friend who loves this place. We didn’t have any food except our friend had a carrot cake slice so huge she had to take it home. (See photo.) Teas and lattes were fine, nothing special though. We arrived at 2:45 PM and they close at 4 PM. Waitresses wouldn’t let us sit at roomier back tables as they wanted guests to sit closer to the counter so less work for them and do they could already set up for breakfast the next day. We didn’t think this was great customer service.

Good brekfast options and coffee. Staff is friendly as well. But be prepared that there's always busy.

Du charme, de la convivialité, de la tradition mêlée a une modernité, un l'environnement design , un personnel attentif et souriant, une cuisine goûteuse traditionnelle et présentée de manière novatrice. Prix plutôt convenus, de belles viennoiseries et des plats variés délicieux , un très bon moment aux premières heures de la journée.. L'accueil de la gérante est à noter , personnalisé avec chaleur et gentillesse. Un petit moment de bonheur avant de prendre le train pour rentrer !

Very good food. Unfortunately it was busy and the queue was handled really poorly. An estimation of 25 minutes ended up being 50 minutes. Then people from the back of the queue were selected for reasons unknown. I guess it's good if not too busy.

17 pounds for the veggie breakfast. 3 hash browns and just 1 egg? Bad value. Tasty but bad value.

I've never eaten at this branch but always grab a coffee of I'm in the area. The staff are always polite and friendly, the coffee is always decent.

The place had a nice atmosphere but i think the food is just really overpriced. I know its London and everything here is more expensive but i think 4.5 pound for a little avocado add on is quiet a lot. The food wasnt bad, but if i had to choose again i would go to another place.

Lovely food, quick service and beautiful atmosphere. Always a queue to get in and there’s a reason for it, the food is delicious! This place made my chicken waffle so well (crisp outer coating yet succulent chicken cooked to perfection with a good dosage of maple syrup and tasty waffle) that I haven’t been able to have it since because of how high the bar is now! Highly recommend going if you can beat the queues (or have good patience).

Such a fantastic cafe. Not only was the food and coffee amazing, but the service was great too. They were very busy so we were seated ona group table with others, maybe to compensate they gave us Christmas crackers… very cool. Will definitely come again when in town

Food and coffee was spectacular. Had a really nice vibe too and the service staff was very attentive and polite, constantly checking in on us even though they were almost too eager to clear our plates sometimes. The full English(Half Cup) was really good but the fried chicken and waffles were absolutely delightful! Portions were huge and generous. Can totally understand why there was a queue to come in when we left.

Delusione! Abbiamo scelto questo locale xché vicino all’albergo e colpite dalle recensioni positive. Entrate ci siamo sedute e abbiamo ordinato con il sottofondo musicale da discoteca (ore 09.00 del mattino). Dopo un po’ ci siamo accorte che servivano il cibo agli altri tavoli (anche di persone arrivate dopo), ma al nostro no, abbiamo chiesto spiegazioni 2 volte e dopo lunga attesa finalmente il cibo è arrivato (probabilmente la comanda era andata persa…). Il cibo in sè è molto Instagrammabile, ma molto “carico”, nn lo abbiamo finito nemmeno consapevoli del notevole ed ingiustificato prezzo alto di ciò che avevamo scelto (piatti da13a15 sterline).

Best coffee, spot of chill in a otherwise busy area UPDATE 7/12/2023 - my third time here, had a very nice meal, duck on toast and egg. Not a gourmand but I did appreciate the taste. Enjoy!

Tastes so good, you wanna slap your momma

Soggy cooked salmon bagel, cheap hashbrowns, small disgusting toilet ( just the one) sharing with the workers and other customers is not ideal as staff should have thier own bathroom facilities. Hash ham was uninspiring and lacked the combination of flavours, hollandaise and eggs were tepid and unflattering. Overpriced for nothing, overworked staff and just a plain no for me.

A great place for a coffee if you’re willing to wait - there’s normally a queue to enter Half Cup, with at least a 15 minute wait before you’re seated. Coffee was quality here and the one item I tried on the menu was great. You can tell the chefs are dedicated and take pride in serving good food. Looking around me, everyone else’s food looked delicious too. The only reason I can’t give Half Cup 5 star is because of their pricing. For me it borders on ridiculous. Let’s be clear, £3.70 for a flat white is expensive but £5.20 for a seasonal coffee drink is just insane. Even the food definitely leaned towards the pricey side.

Excellent brunch but the dining room is very noisy and you are too close together with other customers. But apart from that food is delicious

This place is popular and you do have to be ready to wait outside a long queue. I ordered the 'Avocado toast' as it sounded amazing on the menu, however be warned that this dish is cold as the sourdough bread isn't 'toasted' even though the menu is labelled. The full breakfast and waffles is average here and coffee is decent. The only feedback is that the staff should take into account of each customer's experience here.As I tried to explain the dish being cold and the staff wasn't apologetic and stated it is a cold dish- my argument is it shouldn't state 'TOAST' on the menu. Oh we saw a mice running around and the staff had to take it out eeeewwk!

Pretty place, I liked the wall art. Does feel a bit on the smaller side if you are eating in but not tiny. The food options were good and so was the service.

Nous avons été dans ce lieu pour un breakfast. L'endroit est assez exigu, il y'a tout de même une place dans l'entrée pour les valises. La décoration et les murs sont très jolis. Les tables sont assez petites, le service est moyennement rapide, le personnel est très courtois. Les prix pratiqués sont excessivement chers (4£ le jus d'orange !)

This place was amazing. Great selection of foods, all very tasty. Started with the pistachio latte which did come with some whipped cream on top. Sweet and creamy. Then I went with a full English, which is traditional, but I like to try them anyway to compare. The highlight was the portabella mushroom. Amazing. Everything else was also good. We also had a chicken and waffle entree, baked feta, and eggs on toast with avocado. The excellent presentation also contributed positively. Would come back again!

Had to queue but was seated within 15 mins at 1:30ish which was great! The staff are amazing and my Oreo French toast was as nice as the last time I came by.

Tucked away on a side street close to Kings Cross St. Pancreas, Half Cup is an Instagrammer's dream. The interior, decorations, food presentation and menu are geared towards delivering maximum visual appeal. The chicken and waffles (£16.50) were tasty but the chicken was slightly overcooked and while crunchy, it was dry. The Oreo French Toast (£14.00) was dissapointing. The toast was too dry and the nuttela made the dish stodgy. There was not enough fruit either. The service was friendly and accomodating although it was close to closing time on a Sunday and we were being hurried out. Worth a visit as it is an oasis in the middle of King Cross, but adjust your expectations on the quality and taste of the food.

Incroyable brunch ! Les plats sont délicieux en plus d'être généreux. Je conseille de venir tôt en week-end car c'est rapidement plein et la queue peut être longue mais elle vaudra le coup dans tous les cas.
