Gigs Fish and Chips in Camden

The food was amazingly done. 4 of us 2 had fresh fried haddock and cod with fresh cut chips. The other had charcoal chicken kebab. And wine.

Best fish and chips in the area by a mile. You can take the word of a fat man from south east London like me at its face value!

Unfortunately cross contamination is a issue for me, I ordering scampi and chips and whilst handling the scampi one dropped on the side then the gentleman used his bare hands to pick it up and put it back in my food box but I told him to throw that one away then he took it out, I saw him handle an item that came from outside the shop and just didn’t bother to wash his hand before touching my food.. please guys either wash your hands or use gloves before handling peoples food.

very friendly people. I loved the service and friendliness. good and cheap food. We paid 8.50 pounds for the fish and ships menu and for another 0.50 pounds we added a drink. It's very well served, I couldn't even finish all the potatoes. I highly recommend

Their fish and chips was perfect! I tried a cod, and it was soft, well-fried, not being greasy but nutty. I loved it! Staff is also friendly :) and they have clean washroom

Comfortable. Ok taste but very good size of food came with a nice price! I went on Saturday, it’s a restaurant that you can sit with your friends and chat comfortably. No need to raise your voice.

Lovely staff. Welcoming and attentive without being over the top, natural hosts. I went on my own and was very comfortable and I intend to re visit with friends. Food delicious,fresh,everything super clean. Not just fish and chips on offer. Lovely Christmas decorations to cheer up a grey day. Great find and recommend highly.

I worked very close by in the mid 70s and often used to come over to Fitzrovia to a number of Greek restaurants that were there then. Sadly, not many left now! Gigs is an exception and our visit was most enjoyable, not least of all to escape from the crazy busy streets of Soho where we were staying. We had some taramasalata and the sea bass for a main which we washed down with a bottle of Retsina which we love and always takes us back to the Greek Islands when we have it.

A very welcome find on our stay in London. We tried the steak, lamb and chicken, over several visits, and they were all excellent. Good chips too.

Positive: Very fresh fish, nice batter, well-cooked. Big portion, too much to finish for this grown man. Very friendly service and cozy place! Nice starters, calimari and olives with lovely feta. Nice menu with good alternatives to fish & chips. Less positive: Air fried (or something?) fries. Weirdly mushy soft thingys. Might just be a matter of taste, but totally threw me off. Neither crunchy or soft... Recommandable? I'd go back for the fish, but those fries man...

Great fish and chips and other Greek/Cypriot dishes. The fish was highly recommended, it was fresh and perfectly cooked with a light crispy batter. The appetisers were lovely as well, very tasty, well presented and everything was a good sized portion. All the staff were really friendly, recommended and advised different dishes and didn't rush you, it was amazing value especially as it's just off Tottenham Court Road in the area of Fitzrovia. It was a lovely place to have my birthday in with my family and can't wait to go back. Highly recommended.

I’ve been going to Gigs for years and food has always been great. However, I went last week and received such appalling service, I will never go again. Unfortunately, this was due to one server who was extremely rude as I had asked for condiment and a receipt; he slammed the receipt onto the counter and asked me “ is that good enough for you?” I guess that the loss of one customer means nothing to them, but I will certainly go elsewhere and not recommend Gigs to anyone.

Visited Saturday evening with the family. There was something on the menu for everyone, even all three kids that are usually fussy eaters! Their plates were completely licked clean which says it all really. Food and service were great. Looking forward to eating there again.

Got salmonella from this place. DO NOT GO HERE. Was ill for over a week and ended up in hospital.

The food quality you will find hard to match, especially their signature dish, the humble, yet Great British dish of fish & chips! There are also meat dishes of Greek specialty. You will, l believe find it nigh impossible to find better - try it & see. Small yet 'cosy'. The staff are friendly, helpful & keep a low profile, but are aware to any diners need you may have. There is another linked but separate area if you just want to order a takeaway service. Conveniences are located downstairs & very tidy. Situated just off Tottenham Court Road, nearest underground station Goodge Street. The American Church on Tottenham Court Road is within Gigs locale. Enjoy your meal.

We chose this restaurant weeks ago when we were back in Australia based on the reviews and the fact we could have good old English fish and chips with white tablecloths! Lol. Andres and his staff did not disappoint, welcoming, funny and great service. We were catching up with friends we haven't seen for 30 years, and lingered for 3 hours without any pressure to leave. Highly recommended 👌

대구로 시켜서 먹었는데…👍🏻 부드럽고 고소하고 맛있어용! 매장에 소금후추 있어서 뿌려먹었더니 딱 좋았습니다. 그릭샐러드도 너무 신선하고 맛있었어요!

It took me 16 months of searching since arriving in the UK to find truly excellent fish and chips. Chris and the team at Gigs are a great bunch of guys that know how to deliver excellent food. Keep up the good work. I'll be back for more very soon.

We had guests in from the US, and one of the meals they wanted was kebabs. This place gets very good reviews, so we tried it out for lunch. We were not disappointed! We did takeaway, and they let us eat out at their outside tables (not supposed to do that), and we had so much food! All of it was excellent, especially the Lamb Doner kebabs - very fresh and full of flavor. The sit down restaurant looks nice, and they also do Fish and Chips, which looked excellent as well.

Trevligt ställe med god mat. Personalen var väldigt trevlig. Det som drar ner betyget är att det var kyligt i lokalen. Vi satt vid fönster och det drog kallt. Det kändes även stressigt att lämna då personalen kollade hela tiden när sällskapet åt.

2016年到倫敦的時候慕名來吃過，一直念 念不忘，今年9月有機會到倫敦當然要來回味一下，帶朋友一起來吃，我們3個人點選菜單上面前3種炸魚和薯條，鱈魚、黑線鱈魚、岩鱈魚，都好吃，只是軟硬度不同，非常新鮮，魚肉很大塊，個人覺得薯條也很不同，和外面的薯條相比口感較柔軟，非常愉快的一餐。

We visited with six adults for dinner. The traditional fish and chips were very good, but the authentic Greek appetizers, main dishes, and dessert were a surprise and a real treat. Highly recommend the grilled sea bass, it was outstanding!

Very good fish and chip restaurant they sell the old school style chunky chips freshly made from potatoes and not French frys that most restaurants take aways serve now days. There salad is also very fresh! Their chilli sauce is also fresh and homemade.

Wonderful ambiance and service. I ordered the Haddock fish and chips, and it was good. I can't speak for authenticity because I'm not from the UK, but portions were generous, the fish was cooked perfectly, and the chips were light and crisp.

Our first night back in London. Had read the reviews prior to arrival. We both had the fish and chips. We agreed they were good, but not the best. Everything was a little greasy. That said, we did eat every bit and had a good experience. Our server was VERY attentive, and the seating allowed us to watch people walking past. All in all, we do recommend this eatery.

Excellent Greek restaurant and takeaway with fresh ingredients, a good selection of dishes, including vegetarian options, and even traditional fish & chips. Seating is available inside and outside. The restaurant is located in a not so busy side street, so sitting outside is actually really nice.

The best fish and chips I've ever eaten! Souses taste like bout from the supermarket, not home made, stick with the lemon it is more than enough.

The fish and chips is good, but you should really go there for the Greek menu items, which were quite tasty. Very Friendly service.

Worst fish and chips I’ve ever eaten.

Stopped by late on a Wednesday and they had only the take away shop open. Not a great time to go, as the fish pieces and chips seemed to be past their prime. Still a good experience, but this is the fast food version, and I’m looking for a little more crunch of the coating and freshness of the fish. Plus the guy was not friendly at all. Again, it was near closing time.

Mushy, watery bland fish with a plain batter that while cooked could not be called crispy, with tasteless tartare sauce that must have used the cheapest mayonnaise and was missing the key ingredient of pickles. Strange chip texture that seemed half baked. I can only imagine anyone who thinks this is good fish and chips has either never had any before, or has somehow had even worse..

Fantastic chip shop. I was looking for lunch for my son & his friends - 6 hungry teenagers! Initially, I looked at the restaurant menu, when a lovely waiter suggested my boys might prefer takeaway. So we popped around to the takeaway area. The staff offered us to use the outdoor tables. All boys had a mini fish & chips with a can of drink. Coming in at £8 each. I was worried if they would have enough, but the portions were a good size! A friendly team, quick service, freshly cooked, hot food. Good value for Central London. On a quiet street, despite being a stones throw from Goodge Street/Tottenham Court Rd/Oxford St. And it turns out 'Dad' used to eat there at least 2 times a week when he studied at UCL! A few years back ;-) I highly recommend. Thank you Gigs!

fish&chipsを早速注文… と、思いきや、お魚の種類が何種類かありました。 今回はタラで注文。 直ぐにタルタルソースとケチャップが出てきました。 ドリンクは… ジンジャービールをお願いしましたら、流石ですねぇ〜缶のまんま出てきました。 量は日本人には人によりますが、多めなので１つを２人でシェアーしながら食べるのも良し、一皿を１人で食べるのもよし、本場の味を楽しませていただきました。 スタッフは、サンキュウベリーマッチといつも笑顔でサービスも満点でした。 その分、チップは高級レストラン並みでした。 支払いは、各テーブルでカード決済もＯＫでしたので、ご安心を！

Great fish and chips in London! We had take away. There was a park very near by to eat at but the restaurant also had a few tables that were empty and we were allowed to eat there (as an exception) since the lunch service was winding down. Staff was friendly, fish and chips excellent. Can't wait to go back and try some of the mediterranean offerings from the menu.

Never fails to please. We've been going to Gigs for over 50 years and it is still as good as ever. Best Sheftalia outside of Cyprus. Great value. The owner (an ardent Gooner) is often around, serving and chatting to clients. We love Gigs! :)

Incredible fish and chips + English fast food + Greek eats. Best deal in London proper, the counter staff was superbly helpful and friendly. Definitely a must stop for anyone passing through Fitzrovia.

great fish and chip shop, very small restaurant area that ended up getting packed, food was quick as it also had a takeaway. prices were reasonable but on the more expensive side staff were friendly (almost too friendly), gave us lots of sauces including home made chilli/curry sauce which was lovely and the perfect hotness level

The best place we had dinner,when we were in London. Everything tastet delicious:) the staff was really nice and serviceminded.we had different meals and all off it was great. :) Best burger ever, my son said. Thank you for this great experience. Next time we will try your fish and chips :)

Poor quality, high prices. I read good reviews about the fish and chips so thought it'd be good, but ended up so disappointed. The fish did not taste fresh and it was so greasy. And the chips were so soggy. For £17 I expected better!!

Our tour guide said this was the best fish and chips in London and we have to agree! The food was absolutely delicious. It only made it better that the staff was very friendly and extremely welcoming to our 2 year old! Would definitely recommend.

Food was cooked from frozen and didn’t taste gr8. Unfortunately I only tried one item from the menu and can not comment for all so this review reflects my experience with Sheftalia which was over cooked and I saw they use microwave to defrost. Prices are reasonable for london central. Maybe next time will be better!

I was searching for a place that serves a grilled fish fillet dish. I came across Gigs on Tottenham Court Road. I want to say that they serve really good Sea bass and also give grilled vegetables and Greek salad along with it. It tastes really good. They also serve Grilled Salmon. So you can choose the fish. Also the service is good. The servers are polite and attentive. Furthermore they give 2 fillets as apposed to a single piece of fillet, as is the case in many eateries. The portions are really good. Overall a very good experience. I will definitely come back for more.

Initially we wanted to try both of us fish and chips But I decided to get one halibut and chips and one pork souvlaki Bottom line the fish and chips was good but the pork souvlaki every single piece was rubbery and fatty only a trace of meat I can’t believe they serve this for human consumption Service was good

We visited yesterday afternoon as a family party of 15, having prebooked the evening before. We had a marvellous time seated on a long table plus smaller table for 4 beside. We did not preorder our meals so whilst Im sure serving just about every dish on your menu to us must have been challenging for the kitchen everything tasted truly delicious. We ordered a variety of starters, soft drinks and main courses. Just about every plate was a different dish. My husband declared your mixed grill amongst the best he had ever been served and the way the youngsters demolished the calamari starter would suggest they felt the same way. We even discussed how we loved the “fish and chip” style chips which accompanied our meal. Every dish was served with a smile and our meal and your service added to the family occasion. We felt very relaxed and the kids, fussy teenagers, early twenties, veggies and carnivores left feeling happy. Quite some achievement. We don’t often come in to London (especially Tottenham Court Road) but I would like to think that when we next do we will head your way. Wishing you all the best

The food was decent but I felt it lacked spice. That might have been their style though, so I do not want to dissuade anyone from visiting for that. The food was well made and presented well.
