I recently had the pleasure of trying authentic Chinese food at Hakkaland restaurant, and I must say, it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were bold and robust, and every dish was cooked to perfection. I especially loved the egg rice, soy fish,and they had a variety of steamed dishes that were bursting with flavor. The chicken was also a standout, with just the right amount of spice and heat. Overall, I was very impressed with manager Villy, the quality and authenticity of the food, and I will definitely be returning for more. I highly recommend trying authentic Chinese food for a truly unforgettable dining experience at Hakkaland.

This Friday I was with my friends to celebrate his birthday in Hakkaland and have dinner. He loved it and was amazed. Thank you hakkaland for making his birthday memorable.

Quite possibly the worst home delivered meal we’ve ever had. We ordered 7 different dishes and had we been in the restaurant we would have returned six of them and demanded a refund before leaving. The hakka noodles were ordered with shrimp - the shrimp was translucent, which to me implies that it requires more cooking. The noodles themselves were completely over-salted. The Soy Chili Beef was probably the worst dish of all - once again, completely over-salted but also the beef was so overcooked that even if you wash off the sauce from the beef it was like chewing rubber. Many of the other dishes either lacked any discerable flavour or were cold. The hot and sour soup, was just hot, there was no element of sour - did they forget to add the vinegar?? The chicken fried rice is simply basmati rice with tiny cube of chicken, it is very dry and no effort has been made to combine the ingredients in a tasty way. The Chicken 65 was simply terrible, it looked stale and tasted even worse. All in all, one of the most disappointing meals, we've ever had.

Food was good apart from crispy okra, which was salty. Drinks took ages. My drink came after halfway through eating the food. 1st plate arrived, and the others arrived 5/ 7 minutes later. Don't understand why resturants cannot bring drinks before the food starts coming and why not bring the food together instead these ridiculous long wait. Came to pay they say card machine not working, cash only. They could have mentioned this before we even sat down. What would they have done if we didn't have alot of cash. Will not be visiting again even though the food was ok. The experience was enough to put me off

I have been big fan of this restaurant. However, now i feel the standard has dropped taste doesn’t satisfy anymore. Service isn’t great they forgot our food and we had remind it. It could do better

Trust me , in no exaggeration I truly felt that this is no doubt the best indo chinese restaurant in London. Can’t believe I could find some such great food in harrow. Must try Hakka noodles and Bombay paneer tikka. I am sure non veg would be equally good but for a start I tasted vegetarian stuff. Amazing chef and amazing food.

Authentic Indo-chinese food, quick service, friendly staff.

This is the best Indo-Chinese I've had Outside of India. The Chef/s should get brownie points for their dishes which clearly shows their experience. Have once and you will comeback again and again.. 👍

The food was delicious, I especially recommend the Tai Pai chicken, chilli chicken gravy, Hakka noodles and Bombay chilli paneer. The service was great, with very responsive and helpful servers. I highly recommend coming here.

It’s the best desi Chinese in London if you are craving something like Chinese you have in Pakistan this is a must try . My favourite place.

Anyone who loves Indo-Chinese food, this is the place to go to… scrumptious food. Ignore my rating for atmosphere because the food is so great, it overshadows everything.

I'm sad to see this once fantastic restaurant has gone downhill. Service was extremely slow, despite a couple of the owner/managers just whiling away their time at the bar while the rest of the understaffed waiters were running around. Took them 25 mins to get us glasses for water, ages to take an order, a long wait to clear the dishes and this was the case with all the other tables who were also waiting for the staff to show up. The food was great in spurts like the manchow soup, fried rice and lollipops. The rest of the dishes were average. The ambience had also gone down, with the corridors dark and dingy and toilets also clearly neglected. Seems like the owners have lost interest or changed hands with someone who is not really bothered in providing customer experience. _----_-------------------- This was my previous review from a few years ago, clearly when it was a great place to go. Loved it. The food was very good. The Kolkata chilli chicken and lollipops wee excellent. The sweet corn chicken soup was good. Ordered a few mains the Hakka noodles were the best, Manchurian and Sapo chicken we're good, but the Kung po chicken was so much better than what we've had elsewhere. Great choice of drinks and cocktails. The Mango Schezuan was very unusual but excellent. Overall a fantastic experience helped by considerate staff and great ambience

Food is ok. The customer service is horrible. The waiters seem disinterested, no smiles no thank you no please. The manager Calvin is even more stone faced. Ruined our dinner with there bad attitude for the 2nd time (I always give one more chance to a place where I had an average experiance the 1st time). No more hakkaland for me.

Quality of food was overall very bad today.. we ordered starters which had a lot of salt, soups were old and even pouring out of bowl. Chicken manchurian was super watery and fully of soya sauce. Restaurant staff made multiple excuses about the change of chef but overall experience was very bad.

I would recommend Hakkaland for Indo Chinese cuisine. The ambience was decent but could be improved. The food was excellent with no complaints, and the service was quick.

This restaurant has a great Indo- chinese fusion. The chicken lollipops were the best starter option, and the Hakka noodles were tasty.

Good option for Indo-Chinese cuisine

This is my second visit albeit with a space of several Years between each. How things have changed and not for the better in my opinion. Place looks tired and dirty, there’s no atmosphere at all. Staff are not uniformed, not knowledgeable about the menu, having confused looks on faces when asking a question. As others have said, this place is not cheap, food is good but not worth the pricing. Menu could be updated as there is no draught beer although listed then happy to charge an extravaganza amount for a small bottle of beer. I doubt I’ll be returning, shame as this could be a place to come to.

Everytime we come here we always enjoy it. Raj is a really good waiter. Great service, we like the okra and the cauliflower a lot, and the saag paneer and everything else.

Very pathetic food, order jain and kept onions and garlic and on calling and complaining them they saying bad and abusive words in hindi language which we dont understand .! But really bad staff , some Gujarati named Raj guy using abusive language . Avoid this restaurant on serious note. These people are not worth . There are many good restaurants

The food at Hakkaland was truly authentic indo-chinese! Highly recommended for delicious north-Indian and Indo Chinese cuisine ! Loved the machow soup, fish koliwada and kolkata chilli chicken! Our server Mr. Suketu was very kind and friendly ! He really took care to ensure our child’s orders very as per our requirements in terms of spice levels! It was a well spent evening with good food!

After hearing alot of this resturant we went for dinner but didnt enjoy the food at all we ordered hot and sour soup but weired taste seems eveuthing is just made with lots and lots of soy sause, chillie chicken was just bearable, chillie chicken sause with rice was not good, egg fried rice were ok. only thing we enjoyed was american chopsey which are crispy noodles and hakka noddles.

Visited on an early Saturday evening. Was very nice, loads of great tasting food. Polished the lot. For beers drink the Chinese beer, tastes amazing. Would 101% visit again.

The food and staff were really good, just hoped the atmosphere would have been a little better. I think i’m being a bit fussy when I say that the cutlery was mismatched. Nonetheless the food was good and will definitely reorder perhaps for a takeaway! I recommend the Schezwan Chicken noodles :) I have docked 2 stars because some of the glasses were a bit dirty and upstairs was a state. The men’s didn’t have a toilet seat and the ladies was filthy :(

After hearing great things for a long time, finally went to this restaurant. Firstly, I was surprised at how quiet the place was for a Friday evening, but the restaurant was clean and ambience was ok. I was then surprised at the menu - its basic Indian restaurant fodder with some Indo-Chinese dishes thrown in at the back of the menu. The chicken & sweetcorn soup was bland, but the Hakka noodles and chilli chicken was tasty. But what left a sour taste in the mouth was the service from an extremely rude and dismissive waiter. Their menu is clearly split into “Starters” and “Mains”. In any restaurant (unless they specifically state that dishes come out as and when they’re ready), you expect to be served your starters, finish it, and then your mains brought out. I went with 2 children, who aren’t the fastest of eaters. We were served our starters, which was hot (soup), and then within minutes, our mains were brought out. When I questioned why that was the case and told them the children hadn’t even eaten their starters because it was still hot, the waiter turned rude and told me I should have told him that I wanted my starters and mains served separately, and that apparently it also depends on how busy the kitchen is! He made no apology, didn’t seem bothered and tried to insinuate that somehow it was my fault for not telling him. And then they have the cheek to add on a discretionary 9% service charge to the bill. All in all, food was ok, but I won’t be in a rush to return (probably never), as I can get indo Chinese food elsewhere and the service was poor. Sad, as I had looked forward to eating at this restaurant for many years and felt let down by the experience of my first ever visit.

Was expecting great food from this "restaurant", unfortunately we were thoroughly disappointed 😞. We Orderd 4 starters, one was completely inedible due to the excessive amount of salt in the dish, and the other 3 were way below average and cooked in the same sauce. Beers on the menu were not available, which is is a bummer as it goes hand in hand with spicy Indian food (which non of it was, even though stated). Will not be returning.

We went for dinner and saw the reviews but then decided to give it a try, and truly we were not disappointed. It was truly the taste we wanted to try. The samosa chat is absolutely fantastic, veg Manchurian has some scope to improve, we had hakka noodles as well, and they are how we had in India but they can reduce the oil use. We also had kadhai paneer and tandoori roti and plain naan. It was truly good. We look forward to visiting again.
