Hai Loi Tang Chinese Takeaway in Leeds

Charge far too much for a sub standard meal and the cheeky gets give you a service charge. This place has been ruined by pure greed.

The chicken chow mein wasn’t up to much. The chicken was like rubber. My onion rings were soggy & the curry sauce was like baby food . Not happy . Won’t be ordering from here again

Disgusting Chow Mein. Enquired whether is was "dry" guy responded either wet or dry, up to you. I requested wet and it seems as though they added some gravy granules to it Never again

I very rarely write reviews...but I feel I just had to. The mushroom chow mein was tasteless , and the worst my partner has had in a long time. I had the vegetarian Singapore vermicelli, it was bland, tasteless, with a distinct lack of veg. The vegetable spring rolls were so oily , the pastry wasn't crispy, and the veg inside was just mush. As for the sweet and sour Cantonese pork...the meat was tough, the sauce had a pervading taste of vinegar...the only plus point was the boiled rice. In fact the 1 star is for the rice and the plastic tub which meant we could put the " sweet and sour pork" back in before we threw it away. This cost £10 each via just eat...not worth it, I think that stray dogs and foxes would refuse to eat the leftovers it was sooooo bad. I think we've learnt a valuable and expensive lesson to avoid Hai Loi Tang and to remember that all the nicer takeaways are closed on Tuesday.

DO NOT EAT HERE EVER AGAIN THIS IS BECAUSE WHEN I WENT THERE THERE WAS AN OLD LADY BITING HER NAILS AND MY 3 LITTLES DAUGHTERS SAW IT IN DISGRACE WHICH LED TO THEM REGURGITATE THE FOOD ACROSS MY CAR HOWEVER I DIDNT CARE ABOUT THAT I WAS SO HUNGRY WAITING FOR THE ENTIRE MENU SINCE I WEIGH 350 FOLLOWING NIKOCADO AVOCADO FOOTSTEPS I HAD SO MUCH ISSUES ON OPENING THE CAN OF COKE WHICH LED TO THE OLD MAN SAY "ARE YOU MAD OR WHAT LOSE SOME FAQING WEIGHT" AND SPAT ON MY FACE AND ONTO THE CAN OF COKE. Disgrace

Going downhill, last 3 orders items missing or wrong, then have to wait 1/2hr for items to be sent out, then when received the chips were like rubber, never minded paying a little extra than others as food was nice, but not anymore not when i have to keep 1/2 the meal warm until the rest finally shows up

Don’t use this place! I got really bad food poisoning!!!

Unfortunately our order wasn't great, my chicken was pink, noodles and rice were dry and cold. However, they gave me money back for my chicken so was appreciated.

We have been ordering from here for over 20 years and always have a fantastic food (order/service). We would highly recommend them.

Ordered over £30 as usually am happy with this place and to be honest have no complaints about the food we ate that we received tonight. But we ordered ribs and received wings in extremely hot sauce instead so kids were unhappy, rang to let them know and they said they would send ribs out but we decided once we had started eating to ring and say don't bother. The guy on the phone was apologetic, but whoever was in the background could clearly be heard saying that I was lying, well my picture clearly shows wings and not ribs!!!!

We saw 2021 out with an absolutely banging takeaway, it was delish. You can tell it was fresh as everything was so tasty, NOT chewy and stale, and got the biggest bag of prawn crackers that every other restaurant skimps on. The crispy wan tons were filling in their own right, on there own, they were amazeballs!!! The chicken n sweetcorn soup was gorgeous and the bbq spare ribs were good quality and actually had meat on them, the deep fried crispy beef was beautiful aswell, delivery was on point, even before the time given for NYE delivery, lovely delivery girl too, I'm well impressed and this is my new fave for future ordering. You've done amazing chefs 👍👍👍👏

Best Chinese I've had in years. Tasty fresh and hot, even the chips were lovely. Definitely recommend!

Not even worthy of one star over 2 hour wait after spending £26 it turns up cold and looks like someone has stamped all over the food in the box disgusting

Had to cancel Order as waited over 1.5hrs just to ring up and be told by them it will probably be another hour. Rude staff on phone. Absolute waste of time!

The food is of poor quality and the service is shocking 2hours late, the food was cold and no explanation...... Avoid this place at all costs

Waited 4 hours and when it got here they forgot the wings so we had to collect because they don’t pick up the phone. Avoid.

Best Chinese Takeaway ever. We have been using this takeaway for years its that good that when we moved out of the area we still go and get a collection and we live 40 mins away. Would highly recommend!!!

The best Chinese takeaway by far always go here and you get big meals and very good service but I would advise you to order your meals early because they are very busy

Food took 2 hours to arrive 1 hr later than expected. Food was cold. Not worth the money wont be using here again and would definitely not recommend. Also very poor customer service lady in phone very shouty and unhelpful.

Asked for rice,chips and curry sauce in a tray when ordering, the man agreed waited 50 minutes for it to be delivered, and turned up with just chips, rang the takeaway shop and he then turned round and said “can’t do that too messy”. Is this guy for real? NEVER ordering from there again. Food is crap

2 hour wait for a chow mein and 2 cans of coke. Poor service on the phone when rang for the 3rd time. When order arrived it was also missing a can of coke. Won't order again and I wouldn't recommend to anyone. Heard it was under new management so thought it was worth a try. It isn't, the food isn't anything great. Order from Capital on Stanningley Road instead.

absolutely shocking delivery and customer service. After waiting two hours and calling three times we have it up as a bad job. When delivery guy did turn up he was rude. Wouldn't waste your time. Better elsewhere

Bit high priced but you get what you pay for. Very large portions. Use most fridays

I have been going here for longer than I can remember. Food is excellent and portions are not skimpy, the salt and pepper anything rocks.

Our go to Chinese take away..lovely food at good prices 😋 I love their salt and pepper chips..just wish they would bring back salt and pepper beef (please) 🤗

waiting nearly 2hrs for delivery on a Tuesday Terrible service .Told twice its on its way still waiting

Food was ok, but 1 hour 45 for delivery of one meal less than 2 miles away on a Monday evening is not good.

Lovley food delivery time was shorter than esitmated wpuld defently get it from here again

Nice food, good prices, a reasonable wait but worth it. The portion sizes here are ridiculous. One meal can easily be split between two. Highly recommend.

Always busy here even when waiting there are others ordering and waiting, as well as people constantly arriving to pick up orders, which is a good sign. Food was good, we had the set meal for 3, plenty of food and each dish was very good, with plenty of meat and veg - unlike some - and all good quality and fresh. There are 3 Chinese takeaways in the area and this is the best and most consistent one. There is limited on-street parking nearby.

Great curry with delicious flavour (not just hot, but flavoursome), and no mushrooms (I hate mushrooms). Very highly recommended, I drive from East Leeds to here for a curry they taste so good.
