Hack & Veldt Delicatessen in Hounslow

I can here a few weeks ago early in the morning before gym class to grab a matcha latte. I don’t usually come here but Matchado wasn’t open so I came here. I don’t usually expect much customer service but the lady was not in a good mood at all. Maybe too early for her? Anyhow, the matcha latte was not good at all and for the price, I’m not really sure how. The cafe is very cute but quite tight and I don’t feel the most comfortable to sit in. I also noticed that they weren’t open according to their displayed times. They closed before 8 pm on a Friday when it was displayed as 11 pm closing time. A bit disappointing as I wanted to grab something directly before catching the bus to Acton last night. There was no sign to explain why either.

A tiny treasure in Turnham Green!

Met us with friends before going for dinner. Shared a platter of cheese and a bottle of lovely red wine. Cheeses were wonderful. Great atmosphere and staff are great. Love the selection of deli stuff, purchased a few items to take home. Nice alternative to going to a pub before going to eat at a restaurant.

Poor response from venue to host a celebration

All time I go to buy a coffe , it is looks they still me 3 pound extra ..and then another 3 pound ....the price is arrived to 10 pound for 2 hot drink and one sweet ...what ' s crazy ...and any points card anything else ... me and my friend got scared and shocked when the employee pronounce 10 pound I think you are exaggerate quite a lot ... now ...and last time with another friend we found the chair outside dirty. Reduce the price otherwise when we gonna pass from there our heart will beat faster for the scary and we gonna run away instead to buy ..

High quality local cafe with good coffee and lots of fancy food items

Stopped off as I had some paperwork to complete. A really nice, cool place - lots of lovely deli stuff on shelves all around. I had the soup (very good - good portion and a tasty roll to accompany it) and some sparkling water. I thought the price was very reasonable - would happily go again.

Excellent coffee, £3.20 for a small cup.. £3.50 for slightly bigger cup.

Was a regular at this place now I can’t go. They said I could bring my lunch there and have coffee, just fine, and then switched on me Months later yesterday and said my food smells, which, incidentally, it doesn’t.. Pretty childish if you ask me. Some people can be really rude. I wouldn’t go here if I were you to avoid that. Wake up and smell the coffee (and Not my Food)!

Never again am I buying from you. Pushing the cashless agenda shamelessly. We are a growing - by the thousandsfold - number of people who will show you that you won't be deciding for the rest of us on cash. Cash is a legal tender by the way, so by not accepting it, you are breaching the law, more specifically the Bills of exchange act 1882, article 25. There's also new legislation on cash coming through, so seems that they are seeing what you don't - the customer wants to use cash, and it's their right to do so. It will soon become a sore reminder for yourselves that customer is a king or you are history

I came yesterday morning for mocha and croissant for take out, I witnessed the most appalling behaviour from a manager ! That lady was quite rude to the team member, she was mimicking her on the front of the fridge, it was really embarrassing 😔! The industry is really tough right now but for the management a bit of advice for you ! BE NICE TO THE STAFF !!!!! You need them !

Lots of wonderful and delicious-looking products on the shelves, certainly need to go back and do some grocery shopping! The staff is also lovely, and the latte and the cakes I had were super tasty - but quite tiny; Iwish they made them a little bit bigger... 😔

A little gem for a light snack. Try the platters with a glass of wine or range of soft drinks. I think best for ones or twos as tables don't really work for bigger groups. Fab for after work and right beside tube station. Plus, what an amazing range of Italian deli items.

Customer service is the worst I have ever had! I asked for water and I had to say the same word in different accents making it seem that she does not understand me, I had to buy it for my child other ways I would just leave, her attitude was rubbish!!

Lovely place.really enjoyed my time there.

I was served by Isa & Kya, not only did she display exemplary customer service with her colleague but she made my soya latte to perfection as the taste, temperature and consistentancy was to amazing. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Turnham Green Station!

Great quality produce - friendly staff

This little shop it's the perfect place to have a meal any time of the day. I found it one day by mistake as since I moved to Acton 4 month ago I go a lot to Turnham Green as I can`t find a big range of shops in my area. Most of the time when I go to Hack & Veldt I have soup and if you want some slices of bread, that's FREE!!!. I love to dip in!!! If you are in a rush, they have take away service! It's true, you'll find it very little if you want to go with more than one friend (you may have to wait for a sit) but cozy and very friendly place!!! One of my fav in London! <3

I was recommended this place by one of the baristas at Tamp Coffee. Very welcoming, and an amazing selection of products. Decent variety of chilled drinks - Fentimans, Dalston's, The Kernel, etc!

Good choice of products and good service. Nice selection of snacks, drinks and other goods . The coffee was slightly subpar, tasted like a dark roast, quite acidic and bitter, lacked palette. The cups were sadly not pre-heated adequately so the heavy cup very quickly chilled the espresso to a suboptimal temperature.

Really lovely and helpful staff. We arrived an hour before closing and they kindly made us a fab cheeseboard with no fuss. Nice wine too! We'll be back! Thank you!

I love this place. A real gem on Turnham Green Terrace, a grocery turn cafe turn wine bar - it feels like I am somewhere on the continent when visiting Hack. They staff are always friendly and the coffee is good. Would recommend!

A true Chiswick institution - with great coffee, friendly staff and a lovely collection of unusual condiments (Bacon jam! Chilli jelly! Banoffee spread!). I've been going here for my morning coffee throughout lockdown (and before) and always found it a reassuring place to be.

If you want to get your coffee with a smiling and good service, you are in the right place. Also they have good quality cheeses, and more. And I would like to say, the music is amazing. Great playlist every time.

Super friendly staff, the cafe/shop is neat with loads of interesting food products to buy. Their coffee is absolutely fantastic, not bitter in the slightest in whatever size cup you buy. Brownies are out of this world. To be fair, this place will probably be the only reason why I develop type 2 diabetes.

You know those places you walk past where the windows are all steamed up and it looks so cosy and vibrant you have to try it someday? This is that kind of place! A great little deli, grocery store, coffee shop and, dare I say, wine bar all rolled into one! I loved popping in for a coffee or a bite to eat when I lived in Chiswick.

Discovered this place now does sandwiches - sublime! Grabbed a proscuitto and mozzarella yesterday morning on the way to work and it was a proper lunch. Stumbled on the almond croissant as well which could become addictive.

H&V is my new favourite spot. The staff are always super friendly, especially Luigi, who's a little ray of sunshine. The coffee is the best I've found in the area and the bread is off the charts! I now have a dangerous habit...

Hack & Veldt do the best coffee in Ealing & i'm a difficult "coffeanado". Today the Barista stepped out to offer the violinsts, busking across the road, cool frappachinos' . Great coffee, friendly baristas & an organisation with the oerfecr values.....what else would one want!!

This lovely little deli is open for home-made take-away snacks & their unique range of interesting foods. It’s well worth supporting this local business at this challenging time.

I go to hack on the daily and have never had a bad experience! Love the coffee, the people are always so lovely, I have become a regular and will continue to visit this place! Lovely, good quality food as well.

Love meeting friends here for a catch up over a bottle or four! New booking rule to order table food -fair but pushy service, when waiting for other guests to arrive before ordering. Service is usually good beyond that. Disappointing when items are off menu given pushy service. Will be back nevertheless.

This tiny shop has in stock very good selection of wines and other things to eat and drink too. I go there often.

If I need a quick bite or a coffee in Chiswick this is where I'll normally gravitate towards. Absolutely delicious coffee and friendly staff. Also a huge fan of their lunchtime sandwiches which I've started to miss hugely since moving further afield. Huge fan

Nuestro camarero era Aubriana, una alegría absoluta en esta joya de delicatessen. Ella fue muy atenta, muy divertida, sugirió el vino perfecto para acompañar nuestra deliciosa comida y nos hizo sentir muy cómodos desde el principio. Me encanta este lugar por las noches, perfecto para cuando no estás seguro de qué estado de ánimo estás y quieres algo un poco diferente de un pub o bar. De hecho, preferible a pubs y bares de todos modos. Suave y relajante y velas siempre un toque encantador. ¡La próxima vez que gire a la izquierda fuera del tubo de Turnham Green, entre!

Nice selection of wine, snacks and coffee to have in, and well stocked delicatessen.

Staff are warm, engaging and knowledgeable of products. They bring their own humour and personality which makes for a enjoyable evening.

Have been a loyal customer for over a year now and can definitely say they make the best coffee in Chiswick (or so they used to). Not sure if it's in any way related but since the 'old baristas' are leaving, both the service and the quality of coffee have dropped.

Seducidos por la oferta de "Happy Hour" fuimos a tomar un par de copas de vino. A mi esposo se le ofreció una lista de vinos, que no incluía un vino de la casa, ordenó un Albarino (8) para él y Malbec (6) y se le cobró 14. Cuando pregunté esto, nos dijeron que la Hora H era solo para los vinos 'de la casa', que no nos habían ofrecido. Entonces nos dijeron que en realidad no había ninguna casa blanca, pero cambiamos mi pedido a una casa roja y, como resultado, ¿volvimos a 2? OK, no es gran cosa, pero si solo obtuvimos 2 de un vaso de 6, significa que el rojo de la casa es 8, que es más que el Malbec, a menos que, por supuesto, la Hora H no sea el 50% normal. Lo siento, me atrapó en un mal día, pero esta falta de transparencia realmente me molesta.

El ambiente es un poco extraño para comenzar: comer en el medio de una tienda, pero cuando se oscurece y las velas se encienden, es muy agradable.La lista de vinos, aunque no extensa, era variada y bien de precio. Elegimos una botella y pedimos nuestras comidas. Comenzamos con Bresaola, que era simple pero delicioso.Nuestro plato principal era pasta, y obtuve el mejor tortellini de trufa que he probado en mi vida (¡y es algo que pido mucho!). El tortellini estaba perfectamente preparado y la trufa fue la estrella del espectáculo. Mi marido tenía el salvaje tortellini que estaba delicioso, pero incluso él (un carnívoro) aceptó que el mío era aún mejor.Terminamos la noche con un par de cafés, que eran perfectos. Definitivamente regresaremos.
