Habaneros Burrito Bar Truro in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Absolutely gorgeous, freshly prepared food, but be warned the burrito can get very messy. Can't wait to get back there again.

I’ve been a returning customer at Habaneros and have always thought the food was alright. However, during my recent visit, I had an unfortunate experience that has left me very disappointed. I ordered two boxes of nachos, both with extra guacamole. The cashier either misheard or accidentally added extra cheese to one of the orders instead of guacamole (both are the same price). When the mistake was pointed out, we clarified that we had asked for extra guacamole. Despite this, we were told that we would still need to pay for the extra guacamole, in addition to the charge for the cheese that was mistakenly added and already paid for. For the sake of avoiding any hassle, we paid the additional cost, but this experience left a bad impression. The lack of understanding, customer care and service was disappointing. Regrettably, this experience has made us reconsider returning in the future.

Lovely staff , great concept . My gripe is after discussing what goes into their guacamole and ordering it as an extra , then to walk find somewhere nice to sit down and eat it, to only to discover none whatsoever had been added. 🙄. Disappointing!

Hit or painful miss. Habaneros used to be my favourite spot in both Truro and Falmouth for food. Now when you go to habaneros you must expect the food to be the best you’ve ever eaten in Truro or completely inedible. My orders toppings tasted like water, no flavour in the hot sauce and underneath that just tasted like spices out of the jar. I can’t finish it because it is disgusting. Raw onions, jalapeños the size of tortillas, different tortillas that taste worse. Absolutely no flavour or the flavour of spice out the jar should be embarrassing for this establishment that has proven itself to be more than capable of quality fast food in the past. This is not the first time I have been disappointed either. Do they have new owners? Most places in Cornwall in this price range are mid but consistent, habaneros is anything but that. Do not go to this place until they bring the quality back. there is an incredibly high chance you’ll get inedible food. If not inedible they may forget to include sides (happened to me 3 times each time the workers seemed annoyed that I wanted to receive the food I asked for), only half fill the box, hairs in food etc I never leave terrible reviews and this feels awful but habaneros has been bad/inconsistent for too long and I have no idea how they haven’t gone out of business. Bring back your loyalty stamp cards! Bring back flavour! right now I will not be going back to habaneros in fal or truro unless I hear that they have improved, every time I’ve gone in the last year there’s been something wrong and I’m not one to complain about food.

Customer service was great, I had a half n half chicken and brisket burrito and it was absolutely stacked with filling, wasn't soggy, full of flavour will definitely be returning as I work in the area alot, food was ready quick aswell. 🤙🏻

Absolutely fantastic food, one of the best burritos I've ever had. They're not stingy with the filling. And the guys who were running the shop were really friendly! They clearly cared about what they did, a couple of the wraps tore whilst rolling, and they redid them to make sure it was top notch.

When we went into Habaneros Burrito Bar we were informed that there was no shredded chicken available so we ordered the vegetarian option. As the vegetarian and vegan options only consists of seasoned peppers and onions we were advised not to get the fajita and got a burrito instead as well as a large nachos with cheese. The two guys serving us were very nice and helpful. I am surprised there weren't better vegetarian options (like meat substitutes) and the large portion size for nachos and cheese I would say was more like a regular. I would say it was overpriced as we just paid for some fried onions and peppers in a wrap essentially however for the meat options I think its fair. £4.95 for a few nachos with the tiniest bit of cheese was questionable also. I feel like the gimmick of this place is not great. If it wasn't for the spiciest sauces ever it would not be up to par (also everything past ghost chilli and lime would not even be enjoyable to eat). Wish I went to mandarin garden instead.

First time here recommend by a friend, had brisket burrito with cheese red slaw and Smokey chipotle sauce. Only have one word WOW 🤩

Some of the best service I’ve experienced. Despite ordering 15mins before closing, staff were happy and enthusiastic. Burritos were delicious and filled to the brim. Nice customisable menu. There are many spicy sauce options available and the habenero sauce I tried was a perfect balance.

As always, fantastic customer service and delicious food. This is our "go-to" when we venture from Mullion to Truro. Came here with my 16 year old son before his interview at Truro College. I have a sweet pepper allergy and chose beef brisket. When they asked what sauce I would like I said I couldn't have any as the mango has red pepper - the staff were super quick to point out that the beef brisket (which I'd had previously) had smoked paprika in but they'd recommend pulled pork ... lovely staff, amazing food. Highly recommended for either eat in or take out to Victoria Gardens!

Josh and Magic were our servers today, and made the meal more enjoyable, with their friendly attitudes and great conversation. The food was delicious, as a picky eater it was nice to see them go above and beyond to make sure I enjoyed the food. Also really great sized portions. It has become a place for me and my daughter to sit down, relax and enjoy amazing burritos, with some of the best staff in Cornwall. Look forward to our next visit. Special thanks to Josh and Magic. Always enjoy the food here. The staff are great in explaining the spicy levels and advising based on what you like. My favourite is the beef brisket soft shell tacos!! So gooood. I wish they delivered to my area! Would 100% be coming back again, its one of the better takeaways in Truro

I just paid £15.10 for two vegetarian burritos which were absolutely tasteless! We have eaten with you before and never experienced such terrible food. Burritos have gone up by £1 and we ended up throwing half the food away as it was horrible. Disappointed is an understatement!

Staff members were very friendly and helpful, we ordered a burrito and a fajita and both were absolutely stuffed with filling! We sat in and ate and enjoyed the music and atmosphere. Our parents have a holiday home near by and we will definitely be leaving Habaneros on the recommendations list!!

I had a burrito here about 4 years ago on holiday. I think of that burrito daily. It was just perfect and nowhere else has ever come close

What a great little place! My son's choice for his birthday lunch and it didn't disappoint. The staff were friendly and helpful, the guy that served us recommended the pulled pork and so glad he did.... MEAT!! The burrito weighed a kilo and was packed. Highly recommended and will definitely go back. My only criticism would be the paper bag for takeaway, the burrito juices won and the bag fell apart 😂 Well done guys #BANGIN

Great vegan and vegetarian options. They couldn't have gotten any more into the burrito, if you are hungry this is a good place to stop. The guys working there went out of their way to be helpful and were genuinely interested in if we enjoyed it. Top marks!

Ordered online, took over an hour and a half for food to arrive (one burrito box). Hardly anything in the box and is so cold that I don't think they bothered heating it up because the cheese wasn't even melted. Just a shame.

Great food, fast service and a warm atmosphere

We must have sent so many friends here over the years because this is some of the best Mexican food you can get anywhere in the South West/Wales (haven't looked too hard elsewhere...) and it's so well priced for what you get. Staff are great at what they do but often seem annoyed to be serving you which is the only slight let down. If you're in Truro (or Falmouth) and you don't try them then you are a fool.

This place is incredible. Visited two days in a row for their pulled pork salad box… absolutely delicious and friendly staff

This is my go-to eatery most times I visit the big city of Truro. I take the family and everyone enjoys it. It's a relaxed environment and always nice to watch your food being prepared.

Really tasty food, plenty of options, friendly service. Will definitely be going here again and trying out a few more things from the menu. 4 stars rather than 5 because the extra toppings, some of which are pretty essential to a burrito, are prohibitively expensive. I wanted several, but that would have made my burrito way too expensive, and the guacamole that I did pay for was pretty hard to detect. Maybe allow people a certain number (2 or 3?) of free extras?

I popped in to get a fajita (veggie) the guy nicely recommended I order the burrito as it comes with rice and beans, I said I would like the fajita. He then said it would have no filling as a fajita and I should have the burrito! I said again I would like the fajita please! He then became quite condescending and accused me Of ‘having a go at him’! I told him I wouldn’t bother and left! I went outside to my family to explain why I didn’t have the fajita and was quite confused over what had happened! I then felt quite tearful! My hubby went in and had a word with him and he apologised! I definitely will not be back! And suggest the supervisor gets some anger and stress management help!

First time here thought we’d try as we usually go to the Falmouth branch. Food was disappointing tasteless and we all had something different and all thought the same. Not enough sauces was quite dry. Will stick with Falmouth they obviously know what their doing there.

Incredible food. I had the brisket and pork double stuffed tacos, loads of fresh salad and sour cream. A massive helping for the price. Considering you can spend 14 quid for a burger at hubbox so great value for money. Will definitely be visiting again.

My favourite place to eat in Truro, hands down. Burritos are great, but Habaneros is just another level. They don't skimp on the meat and fill it with rice, either. It's a proper, full on, stick of meat. And who doesn't like that?

This place serves very good quality food with bags of taste, bags of variety and at reasonable prices. We had the chilli and the pork boxes with Chipotle sauce, very good size and filling.

Yesterday i had a chicken burrito. it was okay, nothing special- not much flavour. This morning i woke up with awful food poisoning. My boyfriend gave them a ring and they basically said they didn’t believe me? i haven’t eaten any other meat within the last 48 hours. Cant comprehend the customer service of this place. I would avoid it.

It’s so hard to find Mexican food in the UK and Habaneros does it well. The only reason this isn’t five stars is because of the price, but everywhere to eat in Cornwall is very expensive so it’s basically in line with the competition.

It was good enough. Tasty and good portion. The staff were friendly. It could probably be better if they weren't so under staffed. I recommend it and hope things get better for them.

The very hot sauce is very hot indeed!

It's good food and quickly prepared. Maybe a little too salty. If they offered fresh coriander then it would make this food so much more authentic and it would be great to have the food hotter in temperature. They have an excellent menu otherwise.

Hosted a birthday party next door at Yak & Yeti Restaurant. The cake supplier gave me a time of delivery that was during the restaurant's afternoon closure. Habanero's were super nice enough to recieve the cake for delivery, make space in their small kitchen fridge and ensure the restaurant got it the moment they opened. They saved the day for us. Can't thank you guys enough!!

Chicken burrito and Chill burrito. Both cold, watery and soggy. £14 expensive for what you get. Big shame.

Not sure why the reviews are 4.7 - just ordered 4 burritos on deliveroo and none of us enjoyed them unfortunately. All pretty flavourless, none had sour cream or guacamole despite us ordering them. Even the spicy sauces could barely be tasted. A couple of the burritos were totally dry, just salad and beef. Disappointing, especially as we waited 1.5 hours for them despite living super close by!

Fantastic food huge portion and very hot if you like it like that. it nice to have this place in Truro they do amazing burritos, I'll be back for sure.
