Called here whilst passing and are outside in the sun. What a lovely pleasant owner and the food was delicious ! Fresh lamb and chicken kebabs, blackened on the grill with salad and nans. We thoroughly enjoyed it & will definitely call again.

4th time I’ve been and bloody fantastic as usual ! I go with family everytime and we are very well looked after and for the first time today I tried the dolma and one word fantastic ! Definitely recommend. Amazing food !

Fuimos para el almuerzo tarde (después de haber sido un par de veces y realmente disfrutamos de la comida). Pedí mi Shish tawooq habitual - Brochetas de pollo a la parrilla servidas con arroz y pan Naan. Sorprendentemente, esta vez el pollo estaba insoportablemente salado, demasiado salado para el consumo. What an absolutely phenomenal place. This is. Was recommended by a colleague of mine. Man, I'm glad we took his recommendation up. Wonderful food. Everything cooked to perfection, friendly staff and great value. Going again soon.

Food is always great. Portion sizes are huge. Complimentary soup and water. Prices are so cheap. Service is quick. It's not a restaurant per se, more of a takeaway with an eat in option. No complaints!

La mejor comida de todos! Personal amigable. Rápido servicio rápido. El arroz es como ningún otro. Yhe lmb es el mejor, de cualquier tipo, pinchos, caña, todo. La ensalada es crujiente y fresca. La sopa de lentejas es taaaan bueno. Vamos allí 1 vez por semana. ¡Puedes llenarte de solo pasar de 6 a 7 por persona! ¡Y es limpio y exuberante!

Esta es, de lejos, la mejor comida que he probado. El servicio fue increíble, la comida llegó a tiempo, tal como se esperaba. 1000% fresca, demasiado ocupada para no estar, pedí pollo kebab, el mejor que he probado, iría allí definitivamente lo recomendaría a cualquiera, he estado en muchos restaurantes con el mismo menú, este es el más sabroso de todos, también he tenido el QOZI desde aquí y el personal de la misma experiencia también era amable si no lo has hecho ya ¡tienes que probar! este no es un buen restaurante tipo cena, ¡es más como experimentar el trato Real en el extranjero! A real gem of a kurdish/middle eastern restaurant. Try the quosy lamb and kobebs and baba ganoush it was brilliant. The complimentary lentil soup is a nice touch. Great ppl and good customer service.

Just come back today. My friend and I had a complimentary lentil soup with was spot on. Had 2 mixed kebabs and it was amazing. £11 for 2 of us. Will come back, top food and top lads.

I am one of the regular visitors to this restaurant. when I need to get some authentic Iraqi Style food, this is my destination. Kebab, Tikka, Tashreeb, Qouzi and other items from north of Iraq (Kurdish style). The portions are generous and prices are moderate. Although they have a dedicated family section, it is not really very family friendly, a lot of single people eat there. The place setup is basic and business is good and is determined by the local area visitors.

Began eating from Gzing around four years ago - whilst the restaurant interior and place is that of a take-away, it makes a good place for a cheap, quick eat. The food is very much fast food apart from the ample Meat and Chicken rice dishes which are generally very nice.

En cuanto a servicio se refiere, la comida está super-rápido (MUY RÁPIDO) pero aún caliente. Sirven el mejor sopa tan pronto como te sientas y recomiendo su plato de arroz y que es kuzi cordero/pollo. Su cordero es suave y suculento y siempre consistente en calidad.

Barato y bueno para una parada rápida. Bonita y limpia cocina abierta. Nunca las dos primeras cosas fuera del menú disponibles así quizás deberían acortar el menú para asegurarse de que no hay personas decepcionante. Sin embargo, la comida es auténtica y sabrosa.

Nos encanta GZING ha una feria algunas veces, pero la verdad es uno de los mejores en Leeds para gran fresco cocinado en frente de la comida!!! La parrillada mixta es fantástica tiene todo lo que puedas querer. Las alitas de pollo son geniales, con unas gotas de zumo de limón aporta los sabores justo simplemente hermoso. Excelente relación calidad-precio y tamaño de la porción es más que adecuado, siempre disfrutar realmente GZING me encanta!!!! El personal es amable y cortés, e incluso bueno para charlar. Comer en realmente sentirse bienvenida y servicio está en el punto de atención al cliente super 110%. A veces tarda mucho, así que entrega mejor a recogerlo, pero eso está bien, porque la calidad de la comida es excelente!!!!

We have visited a number of times since it was recommended to us and have never been disappointed. We are always brought hot, fresh soup on the house when we arrive. I usually get the mushakal kebab which is 2 skewers of meat (a choice of chicken, chicken wings, minced lamb or peppered lamb) with salad and a naan. I have had one of the lamb casserole style dishes and the lamb was delicious, it just falls right off the bone. The menu is varied and suits big and small appetites. It is the typical Kurdish palette - nothing too spicy! The restaurant looks basic but it is clean and spacious and we are always made to feel welcome - it's especially nice that the people who work there remember us when we go in despite there often being long gaps between visits. We live too far away to be eligible for delivery but friends who have had takeaways from here say it's just as good as eating in he restaurant. It's excellent value for money, popular with Kurdish people which is always a good sign and I always leave full. Would definitely recommend.

I love this type of food so called for a takeaway on my way home from work. I ordered the mixed grill platter with rice and chips. The food was of a very, very good standard...you won't get much better than this for a takeaway and the price was also very good, excellent value for money. I got lots of meat, all of which was very tasty on a fresh naan, the rice in particular was very nice, the chips were standard but still good, the only small let down as the salad which was a little uninspiring but that's a minor point.I'll definitely call again for a takeaway, however, in my opinion, if you want a sit down meal, Darvish on Roundhay Rd is a much better option for this type of food.Just one small point...I've noticed a couple of reviews mentioning that certain ethnic groups get inferior service... all I can say is that when I visited the place was packed and I was the only English person there among a mix of several different ethnicities. The service was excellent, very friendly and all delivered within a good time frame, so certainly no complaints on this point from me. Didn't seem to make a difference where you were from, the service was great.

We'd been a decisively sub-standard Indian for a late lunch on Valentines day; nestled up at home we wanted something relatively quick and easy to eat for dinner. We have a trusty local take away that does a good range of healthy kebabs but we wants something else - we wanted something truly excellent. So we hit up the google and wanted to know where 'the best Kebab in Leeds' could be found. This is where I first found out about Gzing.The website mentioned traditional Kurdish food and I was intrigued straight away. I hadn't eaten proper Kurdish for years. The location looked a tad choppy - I knew the area but it wasn't particularly somewhere I would usually want to walk alone around at night. It was however just round the corner from my favourite Chinese. It advertised shisha and at this point I was well up for a look.There is plenty of secure parking available and when we arrived the place was packed out - always a good sign! Couples, families, gaggles of cab drivers - another good sign. You find in Leeds the cab drivers genuinely know the best places to eat when it comes to good portions and a bargain. I was a bit gutted to find they don't serve shisha anymore due to council smoking restrictions but it was okay - I was there primarily to eat.We ordered the hummus, jajic and torshi along with a mixed grill between the two of us, and we got a couple of cans of drinks. We had a couple of flat breads as well. We paid bang on £15 for everything. That was less than the lunch we had which was having a 50% offer. The food was phenomenal - so fresh and tasty and the portions were outstanding. The bread was so warm and fresh. The lamb kebab we had as part of the mixed grill was one of the best I have ever had in my life. It was really that good. The wife isn't a big fan of chicken wings so I had the divine pleasure of devouring all of them myself and I could of had more. The selection of salad was fresh and varied.The gentleman who greeted us asked us how the food was and how we had found out about the place - he was genuinely interested. He explained how they don't advertise at all but seem to get more and more people through the door through word of mouth alone. I can see exactly why.Gzing is rough and ready - do not expect fine dining. But it is warm, friendly and some of the best food I have ever had. It is a beautiful mish-mash of people of all different cultures and ethnicities getting down to the one thing we all have in common - eating! I have fallen in love with the place and can't believe after 6 years living in Leeds it has taken me this long to find it.Be brave, take the risk, you will not regret it. I honestly couldn't recommend this place enough!

If I don't have Gzing at least once a month I get withdrawl symptoms! An Kurdish friend of mine introduced me to this place and it is just fantastic! The food is so good- I always have the lamb with rice and white bean soup. The bread is fresh and you get really big portions. All for about £7 each. Can't commend it highly enough!!

The food is good, but the sitting is basic. Opening hours is bad, as it finish quite early especially if you are dining after 7pm

When you go there be very hungry to eat as much as you can because all the menu are delicious, the best Iraqi food I have ever had in England, the staff very helpful and smiley faces, and the prices good & cheap.

Food was great. Go hungry as the portions are generous. Friendly service. Will return soon. As it is a Kurdish restaurant there are many men. I was the only woman in there but certainly didn't feel uncomfortable. Very good value for money.

Called in with work mates for lunch. Qe were made to feel really welcome and the waiter talked through the dishes.Firstly we were served soup and water (this must have been a tradition), the soup was lovely, really tasty. The meal came out shortly after and it was fresh, healthy and very authentic for a cheap price.I would definitely return, although on a different day so I got to sample all the menu (some dishes are only served one day a week).Great find!

The restaurant was a window for me to enjoy the Mediterranean cuisine, despite the semi low standards of cleanliness, but the value for money compensated that. Staff are helpful and with very good manners. Food was delicious and in very good quantity.

well, we come from the same back ground so we like the taste of the food there the service is good but not excellent, prices are goos as well as the food, the owner is a nice chap and always welcoming so we go there on a regular base may be 3 times a month. I would recommend the mince lamb kebab if this is your first time

Genuine Kurdish/Iraqi food, very good portion, very clean and tasty.Price wise is very reasonable, if you are hungry and wish to have a real meal you may need to stop there.

i visited this place to open my fast. the food was brilliant, the staff looked after you and the price was reasonable. the only downside was finding it - its well hidden.

Lost in the far reaches of Turkey ..no in the back streets of lincoln green where the newly arrived refugees and escapees of Turkish oppression now live there is a small restaurant, decorated like a 1970's set off Dr. Who, where the clientele talk in Kurdish and the food they eat is freshly cooked in an oven and charcoal just like their forefather's cooked on for the past millennium. It's rough, authentic, segregated and traditional which is great because their food is WONDERFUL,. The service basic ( nice smile and welcome) and the prices so low that you think that perhaps you are Dr. Who's assistant. We had Kubes , kebabs and fresh bread off the oven wall. Hot , tasty as fresh can be . The humus was plain and drizzled with olive oil. No garlic. Plain and simple working man's food but authentic and very tasty . My verdict 9 out of ten. If you want to go back in time and travel to Kurdistan - this is the place . £4 gets you a tasty kebab!

Have been eating in this restaurant since 2004 its one of the best Mediterranean restaurant in UK. i have to say even when i go a way on holiday the first thing i miss its Gzing Restaurant.

Me and a few of our friends had gone there to just try out some good Kurdish cuisine. This place did not disappoint. Some really good food. Not a very classy restaurant, but then food was really good! service was excellent as well!

Me and my son became an addicted customers after incidentally discovering the restaurant. Even my wife which is vegetarian found delicious dishes to satisfy her picky needs. Great food, Great atmosphere and a friendly attitude. Highly recommended.

Actually got takeaway delivered and was really good, I had the lamb qaliya with rice (which was the best rice I've ever tasted!) and my fiancé had a chicken kebab and the chicken was really moist and tasty. Also would recommend the hummus and the vegetable sides. Everything was really fresh.

My husband is Iraqi & my beloved mother in law died a year ago & although after 25 yrs of marriage I learned a lot of how to cook Arabic food & my husband says he's proud that im very good at it , it still doesn't compare to mamas cooking ....... Until we found gzink ..... Just like mama used to make ..... Lovely relaxed atmosphere excellent food & I get a day off from cooking & we & r 4 children enjoy a fabulous meal , keep the good work up el hamdiallah x

It is like a big cafe style restaurant. Kurdish dishes. It is tasty but not so spicy like indian food. The kind of place where it is alright to sit and eat on your own. Friendly service but unfortunately no alcoholic beverages. Good food and reasonably priced. They serve throughout the day and you can usually park close by. That makes it a brilliant to stop for a proper meal when out and about for work in that area. Been many times and really love it.

Me and my husband (who is Kurdish) and our 2 little boys go here for dinner all the time...the people are friendly and the food comes in good time. We have been to many kurdish restaurants and this is onethat we wil come back to again and again.Thank you

The only takeaway food I've ever had to throw away, it was that bad. I like pretty much all foods, and middle eastern is one of my favourites, but this was really bland and over done.I had the Chicken Qozy, which comes with 'gzing special' rice, vegetable casserole and naan. The special rice consisted of overcooked, yet somehow crispy rice, with bits of sweetcorn which looked like they had been dried in the sun for a number of days, and a few sultanas. The vegetable casserole looked and tasted like a tin of tomatoes and a tin of green beans that had been heated up. The chicken itself was incredibly dry, plain and overcooked. The naan bread was edable.One final point; it took us about 10 minutes on the phone to manage to order 2 main courses and some french fries. On the plus side it arrived within about 25 minutes.The first and last time I will be ordering from this place. The food is cheap but I wouldn't pay half the price for that quality of food.

Best Kurdish food that you'll find in Yorkshire, very friendly and welcoming and very reasonably priced. Also there is an area downstairs where you can play chess and drink tea.
