Fika North coffee is a great spot in the Headingley area. The coffees and bagels are delicious and expertly made. The only issue is the limited space inside, which can make it challenging to find a free table, especially on weekends!

Always 10/10 coffee and bagels. The vegan pastrami is unreal and so are their chai lattes. The only reason I gave 1 less star for service is because they take a while on the bagels but honestly it’s so so worth the wait. We also got hot honey hash browns which were amazing too.

Stopped by to get some pastries and a coffee to-go. Good selection on Sunday at 10am with excellent and friendly service. We had an almond croissant, pain au raisin, and a spinach and feta twist. All were very tasty, and big sizes. On the expensive side at around £4 each, but well worth it.

We were welcomed with a friendly smile and greeting (very important to us as we walked out of a neighbouring cafe due to very cold service!) I've been dying to come here after multiple rave reviews from friends and I'm so glad I did! The coffee was great, the food was gorgeous, and the atmosphere was so lovely I could have stayed and worked from here all day. Its so much bigger inside than I expected, the staff were friendly, quick, and gave the place a lively happy feeling about it. The vegan pastrami sandwich was amazing and I can't wait to try the other options as I was chuffed to see so many. Overall just a really nice cosy and comfy place to hang out or work

A lovely spot, but a shame that not all of the baked goods are fresh nor locally made, despite what you may be told or otherwise see posted online (i.e. their website). The rose harissa chickpea bagel was unfortunately underwhelming for the price. I did not try a coffee this time around but a consistent queue would suggest the baristas know their stuff. REPLY: I appreciate the response and I reiterate the cafe was a lovely venue with a bright atmosphere. The bagels were definitely fresh; the pastries had sold out by the time of my visit (before halfway through their day), leaving only the defrosted wholesaler cakes on display. I don't object to this in itself - I simply would prefer honesty when I ask about what I'm buying. I'll be sure to give another chance when there is more on display.

Good addition to the local Far Headingley scene. Very pleasant staff, making excellent coffee. Range of cakes including some vegan stuff. Update June 2022 - still going well, good coffee and great range of sandwiches etc. Always seems busy. Updated November 2023 - excellent quality food, very good coffees etc. Not the cheapest - but nowhere is at the moment. Take care when paying on the contactless terminal - I inadvertently added a tip ( not undeserved however) without even knowing! Must have brushed the touch pad as I paid. Service a little slow given number of staff working. Overall good. Worth a look. UPDATE JULY 2024 - very popular cafe. Good coffee and a range of food including bagels and cake.

Fika never disappoints. The bagels are always 100/10 and the hot chocolate is one of the best in Leeds. Their coffee is amazing too. Also as a die hard carnivore I decided to expand my horizons and try their vegan special bagel that they have on the menu for veganuary and you know what, it was delicious. I'd even go as far as to say it's the best bagel I've tried off the menu. Several months after this review and Fika is just as consistent. That chickpea and chipotle bagel is on another level

Quality of food: We ordered a flat white, ham and cheese bagel (special), and a lemon loaf. Flat white was strong but not bitter, bagel was pretty big and really good. I've been tempted by this cafe for quite some time but have always felt that it would be too busy. In truth, I've also felt a little intimidated because it gives "trending on Tik Tok" vibes and I'm just not sure I'm cool enough for such venues! However, I needn't have worried - me and my boyfriend were the coolest there by a country mile. We got a table inside. We weren't greeted with open arms by the staff, but maybe they were busy. Swept off their feet, even. I'd say price wise it was on the more expensive side so my companion and I decided to share a small cake. We got the kinder Bueno "brookie" which I believe to be some sort of wild mash up of cookie and brownie. What will they think of next!?!?!? The brookie was nice enough - all 3 mouthfuls of it, at least. I also had a hot chocolate which was pretty good. We dipped into some literature while sipping on our drinks, exploring the art of fika and getting to grips with the history and cultural significance behind it. We then read each other some sonnets. A deeply poetic moment for a deeply romantic couple. I'd say it is worth a visit if in the area but gentrified cafes like this often present themselves as better than they are. Nice to sit outside though with a coffee I imagine! Watching that world go by.

Out for a sunday strole and we planned a coffee visit half way at Fika because their coffee is the best. We walked past 3 other coffee places to get coffee here but waited 20minutes for a takeaway Piccalo (its was busy and a few people had already been co.plai i h of their wait).... when I asked how much longer must I wait I was told "ill make them now" a full 20minutes after paying... now if you know there's a 20m wait then why not just tell everyone that when they're are ordering? At least that way you set the expecation! A few minutes later they were done however made with diary milk when I specifically asked and paid for Pea milk due to allergies... needless yo say i left pissed with a refund and no coffee. I still love Fika but please consider train g the staff to be quicker.

The food was lovely but some of the staff could do with learning some basic social skills. I stood at the counter for about five minutes when I arrived (hoping to be seated) whilst the two staff members behind the counter completely ignored me. They weren’t serving anyone else. They just couldn’t be bothered it seemed. I Moved myself to be ‘more visible’ but that didn’t do anything either. Waited a little longer, one of the guys behind the counter made eye contact with me a couple of times, I smiled but he still didn’t say a word and went back to wiping his mug. Eventually I approached a waiter and asked for a table. The kind waiter cleared a table and seated me. Worse things have definitely happened out there but being blatantly ignored by two members of staff on arrival surely made my experience here quite uncomfortable from the get go. Food was good but I’d prefer to go somewhere friendlier next time.

After hearing great reviews, we decided to visit Fika on Sunday afternoon. There was a slight queue but we waited for a table. We sat down after 10-15 minutes of waiting and instantly felt like the staff were completely uninterested in us. We had to ask to put our order in after waiting for 15 minutes and when our order finally arrived, the bagel was missing. After waiting a bit longer, we asked the staff member where it was and he said that he would check. We completely understand that it was a busy day but the bagel finally came out 45 minutes after ordering with no real explanation as to why there was a delay. It’s worth mentioning that the coffee, bagel and pastry were lovely but the service was really unfriendly and disappointing which unfortunately has put us off returning again.

Service is very friendly and coffee is reasonably priced. We ordered an oat flat white an oat decaf cappuccino and an oat latte. There was a slightly longer wait for drinks once ordered but this was not a huge issue with seating available outside and poke stops and gyms nearby to keep you entertained whilst waiting. Edit: I had the tapas as a 2nd try after my previous original review below, and it was really good, avoiding the falafel, but pretty expensive for me at roughly £30 for 5 or 6 dishes, but I guess tapas is expensive if you can eat a lot. Original review: I would genuinely actually rather go hungry. Asked for falafel and espresso, expecting a wrap or an open plated salad with 5 or 6 decent sized falafel. Received pretty good espresso, but the falafel was presented in a trio of tiny overcooked balls on top of shop bought hummus and with a side of shop bought tsatsiki that had 1 lump of cucumber in it, and some stale bread on the side. The salad was a few lettuce leaves with sugary balsamic goo which is completely the wrong flavour combination... Vinegar and falafel!?? Pomegranate molasses is vinegary, and a middle-eastern ingredient, but again, that does not go with falafel. As for the taste and texture, it was more like a thrice microwaved onion bahji... It was either shop bought or they used canned chickpeas resulting in deep fried spicy mush. Completely the wrong spices and flavour profile. I usually make my own falafel, so so so wish I had've stayed home! Staff were really friendly, I feel sorry for them... Good people working in a place like that. There were families also there, and so only kept my comments to a polite minimum, but I couldn't not tell the truth over such an abysmal disgrace. And all to the tune of just under 10 pounds.
