A decent pint in a nice atmosphere with the added bonus of being dog friendly

This spot was lovely! Had a wonderful time and enjoyed some delicious drinks. Especially loved how friendly the bar staff were, a lovely girl with dark hair gave me great recommendations!! 100% recommend :))

Nice intimate place full of character. Barman was happy to talk about beer and was good at asking if we wanted another once we were sat.

Exquisitely served pints of North's beer, and I mean perfect - presentation, glassware, conditioning, freshness + a friendly chat with the knowledgeable staff member. Beer gets no better than this.

Not bad at all for a hot balmy sunday afternoon. Northern Beers and sells a variety of beer strengths ranging from Session beer to ,,, head scramblers. Didn't have food and don't know if they sell anything other than bar snacks. Busy, but got served quickly and some had cocktails and I had beer. Parking nearby and nice outdoor seating area, which was busy. Overall... not bad at all.

Best of the North bars...they always have different North beers in and also guest beers. Great to call in for a schooner or two of strong beer before a curry! Friendly, knowledgeable staff, nice ambience, Oakwood is now a bit of a destination for craft beer lovers with two other craft beer bars opening nearby - this is the original though and still the best.

Good beer, helpful staff. Hate the fact that it is a signup wifi. One star only, for being cashless!!!

Update: downgraded from 5* to 3* as they're showing the world cup at the moment (despite the boycott) and it's all a bit rowdy. Absolute little gem of a bar in Oakwood. We make a frequent pilgrimage from Chapel Alleton via the Gledhow Woods to enjoy a beer or two. It's very dog friendly and the beers are excellent (the Sputnik IPA is soo good!). It usually gets very busy so you might have a bit of a wait to get a table, but it's worth it! Friendly staff and friendly crowd. Nice interior and when the sun is out it gets busy in the outdoor area!

Perfect little bar. Interesting North beers as standard plus a fabulous Verdant dipa today. Friendly chatty bartender, fridge full of classic 'craft' like chimay etc, beer buyer knows their stuff. Brilliant place for beer nerds like me, but nice bar for anyone!

It’s 2022, right? Not been in here for a while, bizarrely it’s card payment only😐is cash not acceptable in Oakwood? Does cash bring in a lesser class of client? I appreciate cash involves extra cost due to having to bank in etc, but last time I checked cash was still a form of currency in the uk

One of my favourite place in Leeds for a beer. Tons of variety and staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Dog friendly and comfortably couches and blankets!

Not been in here since last year,so thought we would pay a visit. Being Sunday evening it was quite busy but got a table easy enough. As it's owned by North Brewing Co all tap beers are in house.Only lager on draft is the pils,which I'm not overly keen on at £9.50 for 2 pints. For our second drink we had a Helles lager beer which was very nice but was £11.70 for 2 bottles!. Think I may have to start drinking tap water when I go out!.

Great range of beer. Cosy atmosphere. A little on the small side so not always able to get a seat. Dog friendly.

North Bar's Oakwood tap has been here a good while now. Excellent range of beers (at North Bar prices). It can be a pleasant place to drink, less so when it's packed. Doesn't take cash, which I find very annoying.

A nice old-fashioned building, part of the North bar group so serves some good ales & porters as well as a good selection of wines & spirits.

We were lucky enough to visit the Preston on a beautiful sunny evening. Sitting outside the atmosphere was informal and lively. My main plus was the lager (can’t remember the name) which was locally brewed and was outstanding. Great place to call in and chill

Called in here last Sunday evening after having a meal nearby. On arrival a sign said "please wait to be seated".A young lady cleared an outside table for us.Nobody was forthcoming to take our drink order.I asked if it was table service or bar service,and told table service.Our order was then taken.Not like they had a rush on,maybe an off day. We always used to enjoy the Veltins beer,but that is no longer available.Think all the beers are in house now.We had a pils which was fine. Been here many times over the years.It's a lovely little local bar.

Actually I was at Hessian next door but I guess Google can't distinguish! Stopped for a quick beer, ended up eating oh my cauliflower wings were amazing as were the loaded chips! Now if you're hungry go all out and order both we didn't eat egain that night! Amazing awesome and bloody delicious, 😊

This bar used to be great. Unfortunately their selection sucks now, has done for a while. They only seem interested in selling their own tat from their own brewery. It wouldn't be too bad if this was reflected in the price but it's not. Shame.

Was a bit of a North birthday for me this year, visiting here on the Tuesday afternoon & Cross Keys in the evening. Don't get across to Preston as much as I'd like, but still an excellent venue (even despite Covid-19 restrictions). Lovely staff (as you'd expect) and great beer selection (as you'd also expect) ❤️🙂

Great place! Good selection of beers, chilled, wide variety of people and Buds is looked after with dog biscuits and a drink.

Lovely establishment to spend on a sunday afternoon

Very lovely place. Bought a nice beer to take out but was pricey. Great for a pint with outdoor seating but in winter will be harder to get table indoors especially with social distancing. Pity closes at 10pm by default (so before all pubs had to shut at that time) as would imagine a longer night out at premises as it looks good. Maybe post covid come back and extend hours to 11pm.

We ve got pizza delivered from couple of doors away from this pub i have to say one.of the best pizza i ve ever had for.a long time . Taste was amazing . As a chef i do know how to make pizza but for a long time i havent had a pizza like this. Proper stone baked pizza with quality ingredients in it.

Great place to sit back, relax and have a beer, wine or any kind of drink. Fab sun trap in the afternoon, friendly staff, chilled out place to watch the world go by! It's worth stopping, think you can also order food to be delivered from pizza loco !

Went when there was the red burger truck outside and the food from there was great! Good outside setup and plenty of hand sanitizer etc. Very friendly staff and nice beers.

We called in Sunday evening for a few drinks.As expected after the seasonal festivities the bar was unusually quiet. Great tunes played at a volume where you can still hold a conversation. Good selection of beers on tap and in a cans available.We stuck to Veltins at £4.50 a pint,went down very well. Can't recommend this lovely local bar enough,if you fancy a nice relaxed evening out.

Nice small quiet bar, not far from Roundhay Park. Drinks a little on the expensive side however I think this attracts a more relaxed and chilled out clientele. Its a nice bar to go for a couple of quiet drinks.

If you fancy a starting point for a walk and drink around Roundhay. Good selection of craft beers with a friendly atmosphere.Outside seating area which gets the sun whilst you watch the world go bye.

Found this to be a quaint pub with specialist beer available. Well worth a visit.

Preston is a great friendly local bar, serving an eclectic range of locally brewed draught and bottled beers, together with a myriad of Gins and Spirits. Friendly, chatty clientele. I like it.

Needs some more comfortable seating

We called in here a couple of weeks ago on a Sunday evening.It was very busy,don't know if this was partly due to other pub nearby being closed for a refurb. We had a couple of drinks before having a meal nearby.Veltins pilsner I think was £4.50 a pint,and went down well. We would definitely call in again.
