Guru Express in Elmbridge

Used to always get a good curry when it was in Hersham but since it moved to molesey it’s 50/50 whether good or not. Also they would to offer a 10% discount but not anymore and the prices have jumped up since lockdown, very disappointed will not order from here anymore which is a shame as we have been customers for many years.

Used to be the best take away in town, now the worst, poor quality ingredients and recipes bear no resemblence to previously. Such a great shame.

I placed my order and waited around 10 mins. As I looked around I saw a run down, dirty establishment that cannot possibly pass health standards. I was hungry so I ate the food which frankly was dreadful. The kitchen staff are not chefs and the place should be avoided at all costs. Terrible terrible food.

This is a fabulous takeaway and I want to thoroughly reccomendation this restaurant, especially the pathia. I asked for it to be a bit hotter than usual and it was absolutely delicious. Best onion bhaji ever! I keep coming back and am never disappointed. We haven't been to the restaurant yet as we always get the takeaway.

This is the first time we've ordered from Guru Express and we were really impressed. The food was delicious (not greasy at all, like some we've had) and very good value. We'll definitely be ordering from here again!

I do think this is the best Indian in the area as the food is delicious & the option are really great. On the other hand I have a real problem with the delivery side of it. One they never read your delivery notes (you'll never receive your free drink) which means if you've asked them to call instead of knocking & waking up people they'll still knock loudly. Also the delivery driver I had was terrible, I opened my door & his first words were "no dog, no dog". I'm sorry but that is not how you greet a paying customer! My dog wasn't home on this occasion but this is her home & I have every right to own a dog & order food. It should be a interview question to ensure your drivers do not have a huge fear of animals commonly at homes!! My dog is harmless & will go to the door if someone knocks like any other, it's my house & you're providing a service. I understand people have fears but I do not wish to be greeted in that manner again. If the delivery drives were to the same standard as the chefs & front of house this would be a perfect restaurant.

Food was 30min late , it shouldn't have taken me to chase it up , they know it's late it would be basic manners to call to apologise & let us know !! No kind of compensation was offered, the food was cold , I received a call from the driver for directions again if you aren't sure where you are delivering to check & make sure you are clear before you leave . When it did arrive there was some kind of mumbling grunt that I think was an attempt an apology. I think I could be more understanding if they acknowledged their poor service & lateness but when I attempted to address it , they just said "it's on its way" & hung up!!! The should definitely remove Express & Guru & replace it with Rude & Slow !!!

Quality of food was great all fresh ingredients as I had ordered prawn Balti this was not rubbery like some I've had before and nan bread soaked up the sauce highly recommended

Excellent quality curry, will be ordering again! Took a little bit of time to come but was worth the wait, and they slightly beat the delivery time given at the time of ordering so can't complain! Overall very pleased with this.

Delivery took 1.5 hours which is very unusual as ordered before with no issues. Still the best curry around so I wouldn't hesitate to order again.

Feels too tomato'ey in their rogan josh and watered down. Korma was tangy but not spice rich. I'd give it a miss for next time. Only thing is they were fast in delivery at least.

Mi marido y yo hemos estado pidiendo desde esta cadena por 7 años. Sin embargo, siempre feliz no tengo quejas, no estoy seguro de si es un cambio en la gestión, pero los últimos 2 pedidos de comida ha sido horrible. Sosa es colocarlo bien. Sabe como sobras viejo de ayer. Pedí un al vindaloo y sabía como siempre como un suave como también curiosamente tenía Korma de pollo tikka piezas! Claramente tratando de utilizar las sobras el domingo. Es seguro decir que ya no estará pidiendo desde aquí. Una lástima después de darles 7 años de negocios leales. Pasa de probar otro indio.

I've ordered from here for the past 3 years, and can honestly say I have never had a bad experience. Madras flavourful and onion bhajis are fantastic. 10 out of 10.

Curry nice but was late over 2 hours from order I had to call about it. When it came no drink again and missing popadoms which I paid for and delivery man said would come back with it and no one came!! Not happy

Delivery driver was rude to us about the fact he couldn't park, and told us we wouldn't be laughing when he got a £60 fine. Food was very bland and tasteless and seemed to have to same sauce no matter what we ordered.

They could not find my address despite me giving clear instructions. I ask the driver to wait while I got dressed he said he didn't have time for this. By the time I got outside he had gone I called him and was a bit rude for which I apologise but I am disabled and you couldnt wait while I tried to find you. Pedí un plato con entrega para llevar a nuestra casa. La persona tomar mi pedido estaba hablando con alguien más en la India al mismo tiempo que ordenar mi comida, que fue una conversación muy confuso, cogió mi codigo postal y no decir que hubo una entrega de problema para nosotros. Que pedimos desde este restaurante muchas veces en el pasado con una entrega a nuestra casa y nunca he tenido un problema, pero esta vez el conductor era despotricando en nosotros por haber tenido que viajar demasiado lejos! Creo que debe haber perdimos como nuestra comida estaba helada. Pagamos casi 50 libras, que al registrarse los precios en el sitio web, descubrí que nos cobraron. Creo que el conductor elegido cargo extra para el coche yto! La cebolla bhajees parecían haber sido sobras de ayer recalentados, eran incomibles. El pollo Dhansak, que deberían ser razonablemente caliente, era tan escaso en el sabor que era como un chole con pollo! Por desgracia, creo que este, una vez buen restaurante, ha ido justo en el pan!

Cuando fue entregado el hombre entrega fue muy grosera, diciendo que él tenía que viajar muy lejos y que era nuestra culpa. Entonces, él trató de no dar nuestro cambio debido a esto. También nos cobraron de más por nuestra orden! La comida estaba fría y muy soso, el único plato que sabía bien era el arroz! Aconsejaría no comer aquí, sin duda no nos!

We got a delivery and it arrived there was a drink missing the driver was getting in to his car and my wife called out to him to tell him that it wasn't there he told her he didn't care and drove away then she called the restaurant and told them and they said they ran out but they didn't think to call and tell us and to be honest I work in this industry and the food was pretty sub-par as well I would stay clear of this place !

I didn't receive the coca-cola and was then told I'm outside the delivery area and will be charged a delivery fee. This was not my problem as I simply ordered through JustEat.

Can i say anyone looking to order an indian should straight away go to guru express. The food is always piping hot and staff are lovely. Delivery is quick and the chefs are very talented. I have been living in hersham for 15 years and the food still taste great.

Ordered with the delivery time of 8:40 PM, so we went out to grab something to drink with the meal. Only to receive a text at 8:20 saying to call the restaurant that we;d ordered from. We called and was told that they had tried to deliver the food at 8:20 PM we said we would be home in 5 minutes, they said they had already left and they would bring the food back in half an hour. Eventually the food was delivered at 9 PM. Chips and rice were cold, poppadoms were soggy and the sauce was watery. Won't be ordering from here again, would suggest that they stuck to their delivery time, not 20 minutes before it's supposed to be delivered and not 20 minutes after it's supposed to be delivered.

We've been ordering the curries from here for the last few years because the quality is always exceptional, there is always plenty of perfectly cooked meat in the curries, the food is always hot and is delivered quickly. The popular dishes come in good sized containers, my only criticism would be that some of the more unusual dishes come in smaller containers and this isn't evident from the menu. The quality of the food and service is perfect though.

Jalfrezi was fantastic, very flavoursome and hot! The Mrs had a korma which she wasn't too keen on, but tight on the lime pickle but all round great meal!
