Hotel very clean no breakfast but they gave us a porridge pot the restaurant is the best I’ve ever been in ( uk ) the food was amazing the service impeccable can’t rate this highly enough !!

What a gem!!! Very warm welcome, great food, friendly staff. Just a stay overnight in the area and really pleased we tried this restaurant, great choice of food and very tasty. The staff couldn’t do enough even down to holding an umbrella for me in the pouring rain while my partner got the car. Above and beyond what is expected.

As an experienced diner (mainly curry), I found this place to be exceptional. The staff are eager to please and very knowledgeable on their food. They will alter a dish to suit your taste and WOW! the taste is delicious. A good atmosphere. Parking could be better but hey, who cares when the food is so good.

I was working in the area and drove past this restaurant. Once at my hotel I decided to read the reviews and look at the menu. After reading the great reviews I decided to come down try it. I have never tried Nepalese cuisine but Indian food is one of my favourites and I must say traditional Nepalese food is now up there with my favourites. The Jhol Momo which was recommended by the waiter was out of this world and it is a must have! I will be sure to head here everytime I'm in the area. The staff were helpful and really attentive.

My car broke down and I found myself in the car park at the Gurkha. I went in and ordered food which was delicious, but the team looked after me and showed immense kindness by letting me wait in the warm and safety, and stayed up with me 2.5 hours past closing despite being happy to wait in my car. Still very overwhelmed by the kindness. Very much looking forward to returning in better circumstances and bringing my family for dinner.

Have been visiting Suraj and the guys for the last 9 years, since they came to town I can honestly say that I have never had a bad visit. Always a warm welcome, with attentive and friendly service, whilst the food is at another level. They have also now introduced The Nepalese Thali. with Meat, Fish and Veg options , so will be back down sooner rather than later .

Despite the exterior of the building looking a bit jaded… inside is an immaculate dining room - linen cloths and a friendly team to greet and serve … an interesting array of food awaits and a great opportunity to try Nepalese cuisine

Whether solo, family, group or business this is a great place to accommodate with a very warm family atmosphere and highly professional service. Ingredients are top quality, freshly made with care that is a delightful treat to pallet and pocket. Only regret was not staying at their hotel, will do next time.

The Gurkha Restaurant at the Woodcock Inn in Felbridge offers an interesting change to the usual Bangladeshi fare in most ‘Indian’ restaurants. The service was typically kind, welcoming, and hospitable that is a hallmark of Nepalese Gurkha culture. The food was authentic Nepalese with a variation of mild, sweet n sour, and hot piquant dishes that would suit all preferences. The traditional steamed Momos were great to nibble with cold beers while we chatted. My Son in law who trained with the Gurkhas in the Himalayas was absolutely in his element. I couldn’t resist the seriously hot ‘Gurkha Rifle.’ Curry which was not quite as hot as a vindaloo but more flavourful. A good spacious restaurant with ample parking. A welcome change to the average ‘Indian’ The extremely polite Gurkha service was icing on the cake. Will certainly return

I decided to treat myself as I had heard about . . . . It was actually a take away I had delivered. It was a tad pricey but lets not for get it was a treat. I'm not going to fafth about . . . First visit and we will return. Firstly fantastic service, best I’ve had in a long time. Food is really good and nice presentation. I had a wonderful Pork Kebab which came on its own little fire.

We ordered a takeaway for collection as live down the road - we must say it’s the best we have had - we had king prawn delight and lamb bhuinkatar and a garlic Nan - all was absolutely superb. We do eat in the restaurant from time to time and have always found it to be excellent. The lamb does not have a bit of fat and just melts in your mouth. Highly recommend.

Fabulous meal here, initially was put off by the fact that they did pizza's thinking they were a bit 'jack of all trades' but had a fabulous nepalese curry - very different to a bog standard curry house and my son enjoyed his pizza ! friendly staff - we will be back !

2nd highest rated restaurant in the area - we had high hopes. But sadly it was all very average. Nothing wrong. Everything was fine. But totally unexciting.

Excellent meal in lovely surroundings My son and I visited the Ghurka for a family meal, It was interesting to try Nepalese as opposed to the more common Indian cookery. We were not disappointed with very fine tasting pickles to accompany popadoms to start. We passed on starters of which there was a varied choice to preserve our appetite for the mains. We both chose from the Nepalese section and the means were leaner tasting than the usual Indian cuisine (which we love too by the way). Spices were delicately and expertly applies throughout all the dishes and the naans were beautiful too. Service was friendly and attentive and I would recommend this place to anyone

This is a lovely a hidden gem just outside of East Grinstead. Perfect for Gatwick Airport and the surrounding area. Amazing authentic curry, I had the gurka lamb curry which was very good. Friendly staff and etentive service. The room was very reasonably priced for the area,and as good as any I have stayed in. I will definitely be using this establishment again. Highly recommended.

My hubby loves this place not pretentious but good hearty Indian food and a resonable price. we love the onion baajis and the korma is to die for. Creamy and full of flavour and all wshed down with my favorite Cobra lager. We have been here so many times now I do think they should give us our own plaque on the wall to fill the blank spaces!

Very jmpressed with my lunchtime visit Tues 25th Oct. My friend took me who has been before. Was good value and very nice food. They have different dishes to ususl Indian so makes a chsnge. We had a lamb starter and lamb samosas and shared. The lamb was very tender. We both had different chicken mains very nice. The waiters were very attentive and friendy. Visited the Gurkha for the first time to celebrate a family birthday. We were given a very friendly welcome and kids in particular were warmly received. We could not fault the food or service throughout and will certainly be returning. Massive thumbs up from us.

Incredibly good authentic Nepalese food. Definitely the best in the area with a very varied menu. Lots of the classics as well as more traditional Nepalese dishes all cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour. The owner is very friendly and welcoming, too.

We've been coming for a few years now and always have an excellent experience. The management and staff always look after us and the food is always very, very good. I've been running a curry club for over 20 years and we've tried many places - this has become our natural home. Mixed starters on beautifully presented platters - tick. A huge variety of fabulously flavoured dishes, familiar and unique to this venue - tick. Side dishes and breads, rices and vegetables full of spice and a perfect accompaniment to your chosen dish - tick. An all round excellent experience and well worth travelling for. Oh, and if you're looking for a Cobra or two to wash it all down - they have that too!!With so many restaurants around that can take your money, this is one that will happily serve you knowing how important your business is to them - and it's not just the front of house, the kitchen staff will tweak and change dishes for you too, making sure you leave happy and full and with an overall great experience.Slow your car down as you fly down the A22 and look out for this curry oasis opposite the car wash - plenty of parking and a warm welcome await.

I was excited to visit the Gurkha in Felbridge as it had rave reviews; I really believed I was in for a treat. I went there over Christmas when it was quiet and needed a good tasty meal. What I got was the most bland, salty, tasteless curry I've ever had. The rice was nice, the naan was dry and had more flavour than the actual curry - but the wrong flavour. It was a Keema Naan with some added spice you never normally find in such and it overpowered the bread. It was trying too hard to be """Nepalese""". Whereas the Gurkha in Reigate is an entirely different experience. The curry was the Katmandu and though it sounded exciting it was crap. I couldn't eat it all as it was so boring.

Hi, This restaurant is cleverly disguised as a hotel so you could miss it. But dont, I had literally the best onion bhaji I have ever had and I have had a few in my life. The King Prawn Puri was also amazing. I would highly reccommend.

Amazing food, nice service, great people, nicely decorated. The only thing letting this Gurkha restaurant down slightly is the ambience, I can’t put my finger on why, maybe the size, not as cosy. Still recommended though, you won’t be disappointed.

Booked Overnight stay at The Gurka - Arrived at 2 to book in - Restaurant looked nice so gave the £10.95 lunchtime deal a try. Good decision ( Sandeko Lamb - thinly sliced Lamb starter ) so nice , anyway went off to racing and made sure we got back to restaurant for a meal in the evening. 2 Indian meals in a day cooked to a high standard . Room ( you get what you pay for ) .

My husband and I first tried this restaurant last year whilst staying in Edenbridge and what a great find. The staff are attentive and helpful and the food is excellent and presented well. The momos are certainly worth waiting for as is the vegetable bhaji.

Cmon people of East Grinstead why are you not using this place? Admittedly the accommodation is very basic, ideal for contractors etc but the food is excellent with fantastic service

Had lunch here and was pleasantly surprised good service and really good food which was different to other restaurants I’ve tried. All very fresh tasting and not the oily rubbish you get in other restaurants.

The food and the service was perfect as always, a lovely relaxed ambience was exactly what we needed after a 3 hr round trip and it did the trick. The food and the service is consistently good, at this branch and East Grinstead. The staff were also anxious to make sure we were enjoying our food which was appreciated.

My daughter and I were on our way to Gatwick for the night ready to pick my son up in the morning. We wanted to stop for food before rather than a hotel restaurant so looked up local restaurants on trip advisor... well it worked, the good reviews were justified and we had a lovely meal which was very reasonably priced. We noticed the food was very authentic and didnt have the "take away" heated up taste, it all seemed very home made and very delicious. We felt that we stood out as the staff seemed to know everyone who came in and greeted them shaking hands etc. A couple of staff asked if this was our first time as they didnt recognise us? They must know all their customers! Thats was impressive and it all came across as a very friendly place. We walked out with big smiles a happy tummies.

We visited as a group recently for my Grandmas birthday and had a lovely time. The restaurant was quiet, as it was a Sunday afternoon but we didn't mind. The food was very very good (esp the railway curry) The staff were so friendly and even gave my Grandma a birthday card! Will definitely be back

90 diners came together to dine in style and enjoy delicious food whilst raising money for charity.Mr Pandey and his staff hosted a wonderful evening of food, fun and fundraising. A total of £2490 was raised for the local group of the MS Society helping local people with Multiple Sclerosis. We will definitely return for more lovely meals.

Went here for dinner last week with family, a relatively large group of 9. This was my second time but the rest of the family come here quite regularly, for takeaway and to eat in.

This is a family run buisiness which was taken over about 1 year ago. We were attending an wedding anniversary party at the Crown Plaza with accommodation for the night around £150!! We booked into The Woodcock Inn and our Saturday night was completed by spending time with this beautiful family. What a welcome, what hospitality! We had an early lunch on Sunday as we really wanted to taste their food. WOW! We loved it! So did all the other families that piled into the restaurant after us! I can't recommend this highly enough. I suggest you book as this is a gem.

Went to the Gurkha restaurant for dinner with my family which was recommended to me by my brother who also previously visited and loved it. Firstly, the staff were so pleasant and helpful, the variety of choice on the menu was outstanding and the food was just fantastic. 10/10 starters I would highly recommend the chicken thighs and main courses definitely didn’t disappoint. Will be returning for some more lovely food for a great price too. So happy we found gurkha! Thank you!

When we drove in we noticed a car that appeared to be abandoned in the car park! First impressions and all that did not look good! We arrived as a group attending a local function and were quite shocked at the state of the rooms we were allocated. The rooms were all tired, dejected and in urgent need of cleaning and maintenance.

The service was excellent and very polite, the layout of the place was very good, my wife had the Goat curry, I had the king prawns, we share rice and bread which was sufficient for us. Will go again.

I go to quite a few Indian/Nepali/Bangladesh restaurants; and I must say, this was the best curry meal I’ve had for quite some time. Some very interesting starters (steamed dumplings - momo) were excellent. Haryali chicken as a main was fantastic; my girlfriend had the Royal Gurkha chicken that was great as well.

From the previous reviews this appears to be a good restaurant. However, we booked b&b; accommodation online in March 2018 for a visit in July, paid a deposit and received a confirmation email. When we arrived we were told there was no record of our booking and as they were full there were no rooms available. It was suggested we go to the Premier Inn nearby, but as they were asking £130 for a last minute room, which we were not prepared to pay, we had no option but to drive home again. The hotel manager did refund our deposit, but this did little to mitigate the inconvenience. He said that since the new owners had taken over communication had broken down and this wasn't the first time there had been problems.

We stayed at the hotel as my partner was doing the Hever Castle Ironman . We had a meal at the Gurkha restaurant which was below our hotel and is part of the restaurants/ hotel owned by the same person.. It was the best curry I ever had . The service was brilliant and food incredible. The food was light and very tastey ,I would definitely recommend it.

This is a great find, situated on the A22 in the Felbridge area it offers a dining experience which is both great food and service but also very reasonable in price.
