Gurkha Spice Winchester in Winchester

We ordered a takeaway from here last night and it was the best Indian takeaway I have had in a long time! I am gluten free and the staff were very knowledgeable and reassured me what I could eat that was gluten free. We ordered a mild passanda chicken and a more spicy lamb bhoona The food was ready within 20 minutes and it was so delicious! Very fresh and not greasy at all. We shall be returning, to dine in the restaurant next time!

Delicious food and excellent service. The food is delicious here so delicious. we went back the next day for another supper. The combination of garlic and chilli is particularly good. The two are combined brilliantly by the chef to give maximum flavour and combined with the coriander is absolutely delicious. Highly recommended.

Food was amazing - possibly the best Indian food I have ever had - full of flavour and fresh - bearing in mind i have sampled many top curry restaurants and love to cool Indian food this surpasses most dishes i have eaten - brilliant lamb dhansak and garlic chicken.

This is our go to restaurant for curry but sadly today our food was not as good as normal. Specifically the lamb in the curry was very dry and almost inedible. While today did not meet expectations we will still be back as you are usually excellent.

This is a real gem of a place! Sensational food, really good portion sizes, cooked to perfection. A really nice, peaceful, non pretentious ambience. Very good value for what we had (2 starters, 2 mains, a rice and a naan, 1 dessert and 2 glasses of wine) Definitely highly recommended

Absolutely awful food. Completely lacking in freshness, flavour and appearance. The chicken was dry and chewy in both the jalfrezi and tikka masala. The masala sauce was bland. The jalfrezi had one lonely chilli in it. Clearly not freshly prepared. The chilli naan had no hint of spice and was soggy. We gave this place a second chance after a six month break and the chef pleading online that our last poor experience must have been a one-off. Sincerely we will never eat food from here again. It was dire.

Never fails to impress with the most amazing food and taste that makes it the best in Winchester. The chicken tikka is without a doubt the best ever tasted anywhere whether as a starter or main. The other advantages are plenty of free parking right outside without the hassle of going into town with its congestion and high parking charges even in the evening. Since it opened Bad and his team (all long term Winchester residents) have come up trumps every time in their modern spotlessly clean neighbourhood restaurant. Make sure you visit or enjoy a freshly made take away regularly in the New Year.

This spot was excellent. The food was amazing and the service was brilliant. The building looked very modern and clean. All the food was well presented and there were no mixups. Would definitely come here again.

My wife and I decided spontaneously to go out to this restaurant for a birthday lunch. (We have dined here many times before, pre-lockdowns) It was a wet day and the restaurant was not very busy. The welcome was as good; the service was very good and the food tasty and delicious ! Would we visit again, most certainly; especially as it is a local business with walking distance. We plan to take advantage of the lunchtime set menu more often. 👍

It's quite a distance out of the centre of Winchester, but it's worth the effort. Really good service, nice atmosphere and really good reasonably priced food. Definitely recommend

Absolutely delicious food, particularly the butter chicken and saag paneer, really friendly and warm service. Less greasy than other Indians I have been to before, and they were knowledgeable about gluten-free options. I will definitely be visiting here again.
