Gurkha Oven in South Holland

It was our first visit and it won't be out last . The table we were offered was in the centre of the restaurant but we asked if we could have a table in a quiet corner and it was no problem. All the staff that came to our table were very nice and we had just the right amount of time in-between ordering and receiving our drinks and food. The food was served onto hot plates and was very nice. We thought it was a good potion size and very flavoursome. The only thing that we did not like was that the music was very loud. We will definitely visit again.

Lovely place. Best for this type of food in the area. Staff very friendly, portion sizes very generous but also delicious. Will definitely go back again. I would recommend booking as it was very busy.

I ordered a delivery which took one and a half hours to be delivered on a Wednesday evening. When it arrived the food was just about warm. Very disappointing indeed. Will not be ordering again such a shame.

First time here and we will be back. Nice and spacious. Food was good and portions are quite generous. Service was swift and courteous. Good selection of various Indian and Nepalese dishes.

Ate here on Thursday Night for the first time as we had noticed it always smelled good when we walked by!. We were not disappointed, the Food both starters and Main were awesome, and good sized portions too and reasonably priced. A lovely Birthday treat! The restaurant itself was lovely, clean and comfy and the staff all so friendly and helpful. The added bonus was when we found out that there was 20% discount on a Thursday night, which we didn't know. Looking forward to going again to sample some more of their lovely dishes. Just had the best indian meal ever by the quality of the ingredients to the way it was cooked and if you go thurs eve there is a 20% reduction off the bill.Would highly recommend The Gurgha Oven,thanks to all the friendly staff,we will be back.

Wow, great restaurant! The very hospitable employees, warm welcome, and delicious varieties made me crazy. The way they treated guests was really amazing. There was no compromise with the guest. Excellent way to treat the guest.

First time to this place on a Saturday night, couldn't believe how busy it was! Made a really nice atmosphere. All staff were very friendly and drink and food orders were taken quickly considering how many people were in. We have a few different starters and some of the chef special mains, everything was delicious! The spice level was just right and it was just the right size. We really rated it and will definitely be back.

Best Indian restaurant food we’ve had for ages. Naan beautifully freshly baked, I had Indian my wife had Nepalese dish we were very impressed

This is 2 nd time we came for party with our friends. We thoroughly enjoyed delicious food especially dal makhani and stuffed mushrooms were superb . I would visit again with my family .

We ordered food last night (Saturday)for delivery paid £52 they did warn us it could take upto an hour and half but aimed for an hour which we accepted. The food was delivered an hour and 25 minutes later. It was very disappointing when we started eating it firstly it wad only like warm the samosas had sweated in the box and were soggy in the middle the onion bhajis were cold and again. Sweated in Container we heated it in the microwave vut the taste of.the oil it.was cooked in overtook any flavour of.the onion bhaji. The butter chicken and pilau rice was OK after heating in the microwave the lamb organ josh was very bland and very disappointing. The keema nan and peswari nan was again cold and then soggy when reheated. Overall not a meal we enjoyed at all we threw the majority of it away. We have eaten in the restaurant before and that was enjoyable and the food was better. Definitely won't be ordering again.

Perhaps my timing was wrong.. i ordered a takeaway on a Saturday night, told to pick up in 45 mins, went to collect 45 mins later, the place was very busy, i waited another 30 mins in the restaurant for the food, while I was waiting some staff were asking other staff members which table number had just ordered food and drinks, also 2 seperate tables had complained while paying at the till whilst i was there, about the poor service.. Got home and the order was not as I asked for, i phoned back and demanded a full refund, which was given when i returned the food the next day.. poor attention to detail, badly trained staff which showed in the level of compitents and complaints..

The food was absolutely delicious it was one of the best Indians I’ve been to and the staff were extremely friendly! The waiters and waitresses really know how to make us all laugh every time😂 Would definitely be better if it was a bigger restaurant because more people need to come here!

One of the best restaurants in Spalding Lincolnshire, not only is the food as authentic as Nepaleses food can be but the staff and atmosphere is amazing, gorgeous decor and original design would love to visit again soon.

Came in this evening table booked at 5.30. When we came in and was shown to our table and our drinks order was taken everything was good then our order as taken and again all was fine. Our starters arrived and as usual the food was fantastic and then our main arrived and again the chefs cooked the food perfectly. Then it all went down hill. By 6.30 the restaurant became full and the bar area was full with people having take away. Which meant that for us we was ignored. Not once did we have a server near us or did anyone come to see if we was ok. We would've had another bottle of wine if any staff came near us! We had finished our meal and had to just sit hoping someone would come to us! But they never did we was completely left alone. After finishing our meal and not having any check back to see if we were ok I had to signal to someone to please bring us the bill even though our food had not been cleared or any person had come to see if we had finished and taken our plates away or indeed if we wanted anything else not even an apology thr we hadn’t been seen to. Once the waitress brought our bill in some sort of tin and with no mention of asking if anything was ok or did we need anything else just put the bill on the table I then had to ask as she was walking away if she could bring the card machine as we just really wanted to leave as soon as possible as our evening had be ruined. we still had our food in front of us and dirty plates. She then said as she walked off she would get someone to bring it over to us. She then moved and took another few tables orders. I had to then get another waitress to bring the card machine we then paid the bill and still at this point we still had our main meal food and plates front of us!! I totally understand that the restaurant had gotten busy but the total lack of service that we had was unexceptionable because they clearly could not cope nor did there seem to be any sort of plan or job roles. I would think twice about going again. Such a shame as the food was really good.

This has become our favourite local Indian/Nepalise restaurant! Traveling from Bourne it's worth the drive (20 miles). The manage is very friendly and welcoming, with our help with the menu (best / recommended dishes). First choice meal, always good value. Will be back very soon.

Excellent atmosphere, lots of people eating. Chose chicken rum rum as my main dish. Spiced poppadoms, Peshwari naan, Pilau rice, onion bargi and mushroom bargi. Very tasty meal overall. Thank you Team Gurka.

Moved to Lincolnshire a year ago and was looking to treat my wife on our wedding anniversary. First Indian meal since the move, we found the food fresh and delicious and plenty to share between the two of us. The service was friendly and efficient. Would definitely be back with the rest of the family and have no hesitation in recommending to others.

With family visiting from Wales. We decided to have a meal out. This was our first visit to Gurka oven since moving to the area We'll what can I say.... Two mo-mo and two Gurkha mixed platter starters both dishes amazing.. we each tried each others dishes and thought all delicious For our mains We all had different different mains and rices Goat curry, butter chicken, chicken napel and chicken num num. Egg fried rice, pilau rice and Gurkha rice once again we all had tasters of each others dishes. Once again everything was delicious to our different palates. Congratulations and thank you to the chefs 100% for the food, excellent!!! The front of house staff very welcoming and friendly. Very attentive, polite and respectful 100% for service The ambiance was wonderful a great atmosphere very comfortabl and relaxing. We were not rushed in any way shape or form. I would highly recommend anyone to visit We will definitely return. We will get more local friends to come as they have been wanting to try. I can't wait to take them and show them what they have been missing

From the moment we walked in we felt very welcome and the atmosphere was great. All staff members who approached us were very friendly and knowledgeable. Food was delicious, great portions, and I’m so glad I listened to (possibly the manager) and got the lamb chops - YUM! Our 1 year old enjoyed the curry from kids menu. Overall, we are very happy that we visited this restaurant, will definitely return to try more dishes!

Work on the road a great deal and this place is by far the best Indian in the region. Great food, great service, cold beer. Food is actually cooked to your taste not premade and thrown together. Please give it a go, you will not be disappointed. Writing this as I eat here - top banana!!!!!

Really well cooked, quality food. The staff were really tentative and friendly. Air conditioning available also which was great, and much needed. Due to to there being a large group in it was rather noisy, the restaurant is very open plan so the noise carries...

Plenty of vegetarian options equally as many as meat options . Free parking right outside , and carpark opposite with free parking after 6pm or £1 before . Will definitely be coming back . Was very reasonably priced we had two mains two sides 2 starters 3 drinks and popadoms all for under £60 and we did pick the more expensive dishes too .plenty of cheaper options on the menu . Didn’t have room for desert however they looked delicious with plenty of choice too !
