I have wanted to try this one for a long time but never found the right occaision, but then an opertunity arose for my wife and I and another couple and we took it. So glad we did. It was every bit as good as I thought it would be. The staff are feindly The food is excellent The atmosphere is pleasant There aren't many nearby parking spaces but there are someoutside and we managed to get straight into one. The price was as expected. Reasonable. not cheap, not expensive but definitely worth it for the experience. Someone said this is Stockports hidden Gem. Well, it's not hidden. Its on the A6 main road in Stockport, but it certainly is a gem.

We had a meal for four, two teens and us for our wedding anniversary. The food was excellent throughout: veggies platter for starters were great plus the chicken dumplings which were scrumptious. We each had a curry and shared rices and nans. Everyone’s meal was gorgeous; I had the Himalayan Chicken which was gorgeous. Service was excellent - attentive but not intrusive. Loved it. Will be back and will order take out!

What an experience, the employees are unbelievably welcoming and friendly, a place you can sit down and chat without being bombarded with questions every minute with overbearing staff, infact the opposite, they are always there when you need a drink or to order food and spend time having a meaningful conversation but left to enjoy your meal. And what a meal it was, a large verity to offer and the taste is unbelievable, out of this world, the succulent taste of Indian cuisine with the sweetness of Nepalese perfection. We will be visiting this hidden gem, regularly! So glad we found this restaurant. It brings back what visiting a restaurant is all about.

Tuesday night, very quiet and we ended up the only ones eating there but the food was exceptional. The tandoori starters all tender, the lamb exceptional. Nann bread was best we have had. Overall excellent and a reasonable price too- can’t fault it.

Three of us dined here on a quiet Thursday night and were treated to gloriously-spiced food which was described and explained very helpfully by Innocent, the Maître d’. We were all able to make excellent choices, and I had Mixed Vegetable Roti to start, which was spiced vegetables deliciously wrapped in pastry, with two dipping chutneys; my main meal was the Devilled Vegan Chicken with fried rice—an authentic, spicey Sri Lankan dish which was INDEED well-spiced, but not too hot. I like things on the hot side anyway, so this was perfect. Innocent gave good advice on how this was cooked and spiced, and his friendly suggestions were excellent. To accompany I chose ‘Lion’ a Sri Lankan bottled beer which went very well with the food—thoroughly recommended, and actually much nicer than the other Asian beers on offer. Throughout we were very well-looked after by Innocent, who was interested in our experience and politely conversational the whole time. Altogether this visit was so tasty, enjoyable and good value—I would give it 5 stars and recommend it to anyone who likes spicy Asian food but who wants to try something authentically Sri Lankan instead of the usual curries served in most Indian restaurants. To sum it all up—the Little Lanka has been a precious discovery!

The food here is lovely, lots of choice and I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve tried. I want to love this restaurant, but the service lets the experience down every time. Every visit the same staff member has made us feel somewhat unwelcome - the last time they seemed to be laughing at our order with the chef. They joked about turning customers away who came in looking for a table. It made for a very uncomfortable time in a very small restaurant. Another waiter arrived later on who was lovely, I wished he had been there the whole time! Maybe a little more training is needed?

Fitted us in on a Saturday night with a last minute booking. Lovely cosy atmosphere, incredible food and good portion sizes. The starters are a little pricey but the quality and flavour of the food is excellent.

As a Malaysian, I am very disappointed to say that their food lacks the authentic Malaysian taste some diners might expect. While the restaurant is praised for its traditional flavours and quality ingredients in the other reviews, the dishes did not fully capture the essence of Malaysian food. The menu provides a variety of options, yet some dishes may fall short of delivering the genuine Malaysian taste that local Malaysians seek. For example, I have tried their nasi lemak, mee goreng and masak lemak. To start off, although the nasi lemak had the basic components of what a nasi lemak would have, the sambal was not as spicy. Their mee goreng was made with spaghetti/pasta instead of the usual egg noodles that you would usually get at your typical local eatery back in Malaysia. Last but not least, the masak lemak was NOT masak lemak at all. It’s supposed to be a spicy turmeric based curry, instead I received a tomato based sweet curry. That was the biggest disappointment for me as a masak lemak lover. Overall, it's a pleasant spot for a meal, but those looking for an authentic Malaysian experience might find it slightly lacking. I ordered takeaway from this restaurant so I can’t say much about the service and atmosphere.
