Go Thai in Stockport

Usually nice food but with reasonable wait on delivery - I can live with that. However, the latest delivery was really bad and topped off by lacklustre customer service. I ordered at 7:35pm and was delivered at 9:29pm - 1hr 54 mins and we live 8 minutes down the road. (It came later than the first delivery time and later than the revised 1 hour later time on just eat). When I called after 1.5 hours asking where it was I received literally no apology or explanation - now that’s hard to swallow. Food arrived tepid. Sadly will give up on this place now. Takeaway treats are expensive and it becomes no longer worth it when your food doesn’t even come for two hours. Might as well have had a piece of toast.

Amazing as always, red Thai & penang is fantastic

The food here is next level authentic. Favourites are papaya salad, tom yum and anything with tofu. Always consistently good, and not shy on the chillies, which I love!

Prices are slightly on the higher side, however, great food and lovely staff!

My parents ordered the day before and we picked up the order early Saturday evening (yesterday). Order was for four people. Staff as always are very pleasant and professional. My parents love the food from GoThai and we thoroughly enjoy it when we visit them and have it. Absolutely delicious every time. Can't wait to order again. Thankyou GoThai!

Best tasting Thai food I've had outside of Thailand. Authentic flavours, great portion sizes (I find that one meal plus rice is enough for 2 people) and a good price

Excellent food, we eat from here regularly since it opened and have tried most of the menu over the past few years. The ribs & salt & pepper chicken wings are to die for and other personal favourites are the Penang, Massaman & Garlic Chicken stir-fry. Staff are super-friendly too. We're lucky to have Go Thai on our doorstep.

The food at this takeaway is delicious (although a little shy on meat content); but we were really disappointed to be charged much more per item than what we had anticipated. We were told the menus are out of date (although they only gave them to us 2 months ago, in which time the price of a curry had gone from £7.99 to £10.99 - not including rice), when we checked the website those prices were also out of date. We only had 4 mains and 3 sides and the bill was £55. We felt the incorrect pricing was quite underhand for a business and we felt hood-winked when charged so much more than we had imagined with no explanation as to why they decieve people around the actual prices of their meals. Their only reply was that they gave us free prawn crackers, which in my experience is pretty standard for a bill over £50. Unfortunately the menu went in the bin and they have lost our custom.

Hands down the best Thai place around. Really good mix of options, top notch flavour in every dish we've tried. Highly recommend any of the curries in particular. Food is always delivered in good time, delivery staff are champion.

Nice food but the delivery times are a joke, Would not order again at the weekend, Oh and don’t try to beat them by calling in either as you’ll be sat in there waiting long enough to need a haircut

Ordered on-line, four starters and mains as a new customer. It was fairly easy to order that way, but it would have been easier if also the items were listed together as well, like most takeouts, to save a lot of scrolling. The selection of food offered was great, and it was hard to make a choice. The whole order was very good, decent portions, well prepared, and the staff very courteous and efficient. The app kept me up to date, though I did have to wait as it was not ready for collection at the pre booked time. Very pleased, and we will definitely use again.

Edit - food did eventually turn up but I had no communication, had to keep calling until eventually we had answer. They did add in some gyoza but a couple of the starters were dry and cold on arriving. Manager did contact to apologise and explain they had staff shortages and offer some discount on next order. Unfortunately I placed an order that was not delivered and when calling to find out after 30 mins beyond the delivery time the phone was not answered. Very disappointed. Hopeful the owners will fix the situation. Very poor.

When I first made the order it stated 45 mins then changed to being an hour longer!!!! So ordered at 7:15pm with a delivery time of 9pm? Really? I won’t be bothering to even try ordering from here again - nearly 2 hours delivery time is ridiculous - I can’t tell you what the food was like as I have now cancelled the order - I just hope I get my £35 back?!

We collected our online order. The shop was lovely and clean. There was confusion over the mixed starter. I ordered two for four people as the picture online showed two or four of everything. I should have read the description as the photo was of two lots not one. We all had to have half. Not good value at nearly £15. Red Thai curry was nice as was the coconut rice but the tamarind duck was dry and disappointing. Chips were odd and a bit hard. We have had beautiful meals here in the past. We travelled to get this but will stick to local one in future. Maybe unlucky choices today?

Unfortunately this was possibly the worst thai food I've ever tasted. Everything had the same oil taste and not flavoured well at all. Portion size was good and delivery was quick as I would expect for a mid week take out.

Our regular delivery takeaway changed hands and the food quality dropped and prices went up but I am a creature of habit and do not like change. After my wife convinced me to try a new place we tried this takeaway. Pleasant surprise. Great food. Every dish was tasty and it was delivered early. A new finde for us.

It was on time but towards the later time rather than the earlier time - I include this purely for information. I had the Thai Green Curry with veg and Tofu - deliciously spicy and good quality, definitely use them again.

Best Thai I have ever hard. Better than any restaurant. Everything was beautiful and fresh. Slightly more in terms of what I would pay for a takeaway but you pay for quality and it was worth every penny. Massaman curry is exceptional

Gone for 4 * But thinking 3.5 I've only been once for collection. Frequently my soninlaw collects on way home and drops off to me So still think it's best Thia and they live in Woodford. However, we wonder if there's been a management change few months ago? Now on deliveroo Prices increased higher percentage than other local takeaways Any discounts removed Staff not recognised Portion of chips has got larger but not as good chips as smaller portion was Amount of sauce reduced So not easy to describe but we feel it's changed and gone a little down hill. So not going as often, but still going

I challenge anyone in the local area to find a better takeaway. A little steeper than other takeaways in terms of price but well worth it for restaurant quality Thai. Not greedy, salty oily etc. Don't think I've ever really had a bad meal from here and I've tasted most of the menu now. Our go to for the last few years and continues to be. Highly recommended

Ordered starter platter for 2 and 2 chicken penang & 2 fried rice. All of it was fantastic, both in taste and portion size. We will be back when flying from Manchester again. Excellent service too. Here's hoping you get back to Bangkok soon, 6yrs is a long time. A1*****

I previously gave a somewhat bad review after receiving an order than wasn't up the standards that had been set prior. I didn't order for a while but I decided to last week and I want to say it was GREAT. Best takeaway I've had in years. Ordered the beef massamam which was very tasty, had lots of beef and was a perfect consistency. Also had the salt and pepper chicken wings and spare ribs. Everything was really good, tasted fresh and they were excellent portion sizes. Best Thai takeway there is! If this standard is kept I will be ordering a lot more regularly.

This is my first order with Go Thai and the food was very tasty, full of flavour and smelt amazing. I ordered the spring rolls, salt and pepper chips and the gang Penang curry with tofu. I was hoping for more tofu in the curry as it was so delicious and full of flavour! It would also be great if there was a gang Penang yellow curry on the menu as it’s favourite and I would defiantly be a regular customer if it were added. Over all, great food, service and prices. Would recommend to anyone! 😊

Love this place. We've recently moved to Romiley and it was the first take away we had and have ordered many times. We've eaten in quite a few Thai restaurants visited Thailand and the food here is pretty authentic and tasty. Good value as well with good portion sizes.

Little bit on the pricey side but the Thai red & green were very tasty. Will come back, after pay day 👍 p.s go for the gang Penang. Thank me later. Edit: have been back many times since. So much so I unlocked a discount code through the app. Always consistent and always really nice.

Usually the food is really good but the last two times I've ordered the massamam was very watery and had hardly any beef in it. Then the papaya salad was so hot it was almost dangerous to eat. Staff are usually really nice as is the food but I don't think I will be ordering again as I can make the food just as good myself.

We love to try different types of cuisine and have been highly recommended to Go Thai by a few people recently, it did not disappoint. We had salad rolls and Thai ribs starter, then garlic chicken stir fry and tamarind duck with sticky rice mmm. Portions were great, so tasty and delicious. Excellent food.

We have been here a couple of times and we will continue to eat from here. The food is amazing and customer service is excellent. We drive from Wythenshawe to come here so it just shows what level this food is at. I've been to Thailand and love Thai food and this is definitely the best Thai food experience I've had outside of Thailand. Last night we decided to go outside our comfort zone and try something different so we ordered the Chiang Mai set menu and we were so glad we did! We tried things we wouldn't normally. I would never normally think to order a side of stir fry veg. Now I will be ordering it with every meal. The veg was cooked to perfection, no overcooking at all which can be so common with this type of dish. I'm so happy we found this place. Just super, from start to finish

I have been a customer at Go Thai for well over a year and order a couple times a month. There has never been a meal that I haven’t liked and the staff are friendly, I even got a phone call once to check if I had made an error when using their app and had selected “Collection” as they recognised that I usually opted for delivery. The app is also really handy and I appreciate the loyalty point scheme. I recommended Go Thai to a friend and the friend messaged me thanking me because it was so delicious and are now repeat customers...so it clearly isn’t just me who loves the food!

Just had a takeaway for the first time tonight omg it was delicious we had sweetcorn fritters with a homemade chilli dip and salt and pepper chicken followed by pad Thai chicken everything was fresh and hot and real chicken not the boiled rubbery stuff you usually get I have found my new takeaway!

I’ve traveled around Europe eating in Thai restaurants. This takeaway is the best Thai food I have ever eaten, my friends felt the same! Tasty and fresh, good price, lovely service. I would recommend Go Thai to everyone I know and to people I don’t know too.
