Grounded Kitchen in Watford

Food was healthy enough but plain and a bit of a mish mash. The place was out of noodles but absurdly decided to not have any rice made which took an hour. Only one member of staff (polite lad with a cast on his arm) thought to compensate us with a starter. Got drinks wrong and got no warning from our server. Generally awful experience.

Terrible!!! For a Saturday night at 6.40pm which is probably the start of a busy night for the restaurant We enter and seat ourselves and get ready to order via the QR Code. We notice that no meat options are available too add to any of the food items. Upon enquiry at their main desk we are told they have ran out of meat and are only taking chicken orders. At that point I noticed a small A4 ply- card advertising a new burger product they had launched so thought I might aswell order that but then I was told that wasn't available as it was an old product no longer available and apparently they had not had time pull down all the adverts that were displayed in the shop. I completely understand that these things happen - but I do feel to provide best customer service you must ensure your advertising is up to date as to what food you are providing rather than misleading. It's just not good enough to say Sorry we haven't had time to take it down because if the Area Manager was visiting the mistake would not be happening. Also a notice up at the front door/or a person informing customers of the fact that the meat has ran out I think would really have been more beneficia to excel in the whole customer service experience.

Proper quality food bold flavours no other food outlet comes close. Would definitely recommend you can thank me later

Truly an experience, very healthy yet filling food that makes you crave more. You can easily get an amazing balanced meal for under £10, and add smthng sweet and dessert-y and probably under £20. Good price-to-quality!

Just had Korean food for the first time in this restaurant. Really amazing! Everything is correct, beautiful (and clean) interior, friendly staff and delicious food! I hope that Grounded Kitchen's restaurants will come to the Netherlands soon! 😁 We really enjoyed it!

Came as a party of 15. Personally the spicy chicken rice bowl I ordered, there wasn't enough rice and the sauce was a bit pasty. The rest of the family enjoyed it but one bowl will definitely not fill you up. Atmosphere and service were good.

I had dinner at Northwood branch of Grounded Kitchen last week with family. It has opened recently and their staff is super amazing. We were celebrating a Birthday and entire staff got together in our celebrations. Food Quality and Taste were quite good. Bao's were awesome. Indeed enjoyed. Worth visiting !!

Food looked even better in person than the photos which is rare! Loads of choice… Great vegetarian options. Friendly staff and didn’t take long to make. Fire bibimbap was nice and spicy. Not from the area and high street is full of fast food options so was unsure where to go. 100% would recommend, especially if looking for vegetarian options.

Overcooked rice, frozen Avocado, not that tasty really! 3/10

First and last time comming here!! 0/10 experience we waited over an hour for food and were told a chef had left on the day!! Food arrived after an hour and was COLD!! Left the food and ate else where!

Disappointed, gave me food poisoning very cold undercooked food.

Had my daughter's 7th birthday(pizza making party), kids enjoyed their time! Guliano was amazing running the party!

Took almost 1 hour to receive our order, with cold food that had to be reheated twice. This is not authentic Korean but a factory style chain with pre prepped food off a conveyor belt kitchen.

The food is great. Fresh, tasty and fairly priced. The hygiene in the bathrooms is the opposite. They need to invest in a regular cleaner otherwise people will get ill.

Felt rushed and food was just OK

Paid for food and waited 15 mins but nothing. Went to till to be informed payment had not gone through. So why were we given a buzzer? Total lack of common sense to not tell us there was a problem and just leave us waiting with a 2 year old child, not knowing there was a problem,. We left without eating and will not return!

Best chicken wings I’ve ever had! This menu has been nothing but tasty. Kind staff and laid back/ casual atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back soon.

1 meal a week is certainly required. Nutritional, fresh, and warm, perfect for the winter and the summer, providing spices that you have never tasted before. Korean udon noodles with chicken in the fire and nut option is the one to go for if you want to feel the heat and taste the goodness and crunch. You will be left totally satisfied.

This branch promised so much from the outside and even when we entered, the decor was quite nice. We dined around 5pm as we were famished. However our experienced changed to disappointment by the slow service of the counter staff to which there seemed to be only 2 woman serving yet only 2 tables with customers eating. The only positive was the actual food when it eventually arrived after what seemed a life time of waiting. Not a complete disaster but definitely much room for improvement

This has recently become one of my favourite places to eat in Watford. The food is wholesome, tasty, and filling, and seems authentically Korean with plenty to choose from. The food was served quickly with fresh and varied ingredients, and was good value for money. The choice and quality of the drinks and smoothies was also impressive.

Had this via Deliveroo and it was amazing !!! Had the salmon and beef boas. Absolutely delicious, can’t wait to order in again

This is my second time eating here and this time I brought a friend with me who tried Korean food for the first time. She loved her dish. ❤️

Food is really bad in here, not prepared fresh and kept fridge. We were served expired food and throw everything in the bin not going back.

Do not order from here, food clearly gone off by smell of it. Had to bin everything and money wasted.

Amazing place love eating here definitely recommend the blue butterfly with oat milk extremely kind staff :)

Atmosphere seems good but the food definately is not Their kitchen has no cooker so nothing is freshly made Food is likely frozen then defrosted and only made warm with a microwave and kept warm in hot water bowl The chicken tasted like tuna Kimchi definately tasted off Everything seems assembled, subway is a lot better than this 20 mins later got stomach aches

Although it isn’t the traditional Korean taste i would expect, its food was creatively good and tasty. Worth a try.

A woman came into the restaurant begging and coming up to the tables, the staff did not seem to care and allowed her to walk around harassing customers. After some sleight of hand this woman stole my phone. When I noticed and ran to the staff asking if they recognised her/saw which way she went or had CCTV the response I received was “well what do you expect us to do about it” food was OK but small portions and overpriced but unfortunately the restaurant allows criminals to come in and walk around the private venue harassing customers and won’t do anything about it. When this results in theft in their restaurant I was met with no interest or help and a negative attitude, as if I was bothering them

First time dining here and we loved everything about it. Generous food portions, great atmosphere, good pricing and welcoming staff. There was a specific waiter who made us feel very welcomed, thank you! Would greatly recommend. The smoothie bowls are my fav.

Firstly would like to say the customer service was great - they were very kind and helpful which we really appreciated. The decor is also lovely. The reason I would give it 3 stars was the lack of flavour of the chicken rice bowl. In an attempt to try make it better - we asked for salt/soy and were told they don’t have any. This is quite shocking for a restaurant not to have any option for the customer to customise to their taste. I’m an avid Korean food eater and feel like the taste is quite average compared to other options available. A selection of Korean sauces on the table will help customers a lot to get the flavour as they would like. Just a suggestion! A fried egg would ask make the dish more authentic which I think it was lacking. Overall though - lovely staff and restaurant.

The mild was hot the hot was hotter. Definetly not cooked with the Korean pallet in mind. Its spices were not authentic. The prawn dish had 4 pawns Would not go again

Looked at coming here with my girlfriend, so I thought I’d try it out first. Wow, absolute wow! Clean, beautiful fountain and garden centre piece. The staff were extremely helpful, helped me massively, as it’s new to me. When the food arrived it was fresh, incredibly tasty, made specifically to order and tasted divine! You have to come and try this place 🫶🫶🫶

Waited for ages for cold, low quality food. The most flavourful thing in it was the chilli which I had asked to be excluded in my order. I ordered the bao wasn't sure if the chicken was even chicken until I took a bite, and the sauce did nothing but leave everything a soggy mess.

Don’t let the attractive venue deceive you… This is unfresh and low quality ‘Korean(?)’ fast food, served in paper bowls with wooden throwaway cutlery. Avoid!!

The most wonderful staff very kind and helpful and are really nice and smileys thry do make you feel very welcome and that you don't want to leave, We had the gochujang with Tempeh and udon gochujang style and they were sweet safety creamy indian sort if tasting and super filling. The environment is peaceful great music very chilled there is a waterfall table decor and environment clean.

We visited this Grounded Kitchen with high hopes given its clean appearance and lovely decor. It is not clear how food is ordered when dining in. You need to pick a table yourself and then scan a QR code on the table to order and pay. The setup gives the impression of a traditional restaurant where food is freshly cooked, but that's not the case. There's no actual kitchen, and the food is kept warm in water baths. I tried the Bibimbap, expecting the delightful crunch of nurungji, but was met with a plain light brown rice version - this was not clear on the menu. The taste was off, and it lacked freshness. Additionally, the bao was a letdown. The fried tofu filling was as dry as cardboard, suggesting it had been under the heat lamp for far too long. My friend ordered the Udon, which was also just assembled rather than freshly made. The flavors didn't blend well, and the dish was quite unpalatable. Disappointed with the food quality overall. It is ironic that their slogan is 'Feel Good Food'!

I was disappointed that the bao bun was served wrapped in foil even when ordered to eat in. It was still tasty though.

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Watford. I usually collect my food rather than dine in but the place is clean and tidy, so I can imagine you would have no issues dining in. Staff are great, lovely and polite. The food is fantastic, I have worked my way through the menu and I usually get the Gochujang chicken, caramel frappe or one the quenchers and honestly, it’s always top notch! Tasty and healthy - well some it! Definitely give it a try if you are in the area.

Came in at 9.30pm and staff said no dining in. Take away only. Waste of time. 12th July 2023. Lazy staff. Chasing customers out. Won’t bother next time.

Highly Recommend!! It was my first time eating a Korean cuisine and they exceeded my expectations and food was fantastic. We had Tofu Shichimi (Large potion: Extra £3), 4x Korean Wings and Brain Power Quenchers. Tbh all together it was a proper and full lunch for us. And have to say that portions were worth the price. We really loved the atmosphere and the service. We used the QR code on the table to place the order and It was really convenient. Well cleaned tables and rest room facility.

I found the food not that great.. felt too much sauce and I could taste only the sauce and none of the ingredients . But the sauce was tasty 😁

New Korean..Indian.. whatever place in Watford. Wanted to try from a while. We arrived nearly at closing time, and so maybe the quality and service were affected (although I think that shouldn't happen). There was nothing Korean inside, not the atmosphere, not the staff, nor the food. The idea of "build your own dish, fast food style" wasn't bad. In theory. The application of such theory was quite..disappointing. the noodles were soggy, the food too spicy (Indian cook?? Maybe). Generally a place where isn't worth a second try. But still there are not many Korean in Watford.. we'll see.

Overall A good place for grab n go and dine in for lunch. Food is limited but Good. Service needs a bit of improvement. Halal.

As I enter I saw the coloured artificial tree and noticed the decor are nice. We were the only customer inside when we came on an early afternoon. We were greeted as we choose our table to dine in. We used the QR code and order from our phone. I ordered the udon beef and the chicken bao. I did not wait that long and it's been served on my table. It taste good, balance of salty, sweet and spice however the beef is burnt. I did not make a fuzz, I was hungry at that time and continue eating and putting the burnt beef on the side. I couldn't manage to finish everything I got full and I went to the counter to asked for the lid so I can take away the chicken bao but no one is there so I just grab one myself and cover the container as I return on my seat. We cleared our empty tubs in the bin when we left. As we leave, one staff bid farewell and said thank you. I can't give a star on service as there is no interaction and atmosphere is quiet at that time.

I highly recommend this place! 👌 You can either order at the till or at the table using the QR Code. The food is fresh, and the portions are generous. This place may not be your typical Korean restaurant, but it has that sort of east meets west vibe. I've never seen this place still busy, so getting a table isn't a problem. Price wise, it's good 👍 Your stomach will be happy in the end. Go check it out 😊

Had a lovely lunch here on Saturday. Food was delicious, and the service was excellent. Sonu was a lovely host! Highly recommend you give it a try...you won't be disappointed!

This looked like an interesting place to eat. Quick and friendly service. The meal bowls were slightly on the smaller side (l'd suggest extra large - which is good value). The staffs are very friendly.

The food was delicious!! This is my third time here and honestly a gem within Watford. The amount of flavour and ingredients put into their dishes was refreshing. We had a wonderful dinner here. The bibimbap was lovely, chicken wings great and the bao buns were tasty and filling too. Portion sizes were generous and we really liked the vibe inside. Service from Lily and the team was great, they were attentive and quick to serve us. We’ll definitely be back in future.

Very nice place. It is very large inside, tastefully decorated. Plenty of spaces to sit, doesn't feel crowded at all. This place should be more crowded because their food is very tasteful. We enjoy our meals and drinks. We wish more people come to visit them ad prices are quite affordable. It would be a pity if they close. Wish them all the best and we'll be back again.
