Grosmont Station Tea Room in Scarborough

We enjoyed our coffee, teas sandwiches and cake. Seating indoors with a big coal fire to keep you warm. In better weather an area outside to enjoy your food and drink.

Dropped in before setting off on our train trip. Great tea and sausage sandwiches. Proper 1950s atmosphere.

I like to support the nymr but on this occasion the food was very dissapointing. Stale dry cheese scone and an equaly sad fruit scone.

The staff were quite rude and made my partner and I feel quite uncomfortable. The hot chocolate came with nice toppings however the drink itself was really unpleasant

Busy little place with additional seating outside if weather permits, great bacon butties, good range of cakes, Cornish pasties etc, most of it is local produce, everything is cooked from scratch so service can be a little slow at busy times but well worth the wait, very friendly and helpful staff, one of my favorite places to go.

Good range of food and drinks. I had a lovely (quality) sausage sandwich and tea, sat outside in the sun watching the trains and people go by. Everyone in our party had something different and we all enjoyed them.

A quaint little railway station, that the steam train starts, and makes its way to Pickering Station. It has a little cafe and a shop on site.

Didn't eat there but had trip on steam train with 3 course meal. Great n staff brill. Recommended.

A lovely little cafe for a well-earned ice cream sundae after walking from Goathland before getting the train back. Unfortunately for my wife they couldn't make a hot chocolate with a milk alternative which was disappointing, but they did have vegan ice cream available.

Pretty standard food, both to go and eat in although the service was very quick and staff were very pleasant. Quite a wide selection of both savoury and sweet treats.

Great place to visit. Great little cafe ob the station itself and, of course the steam trains. It dies get really busy and parking can sometimes be awkward. Great ice cream sundae enjoyed by myself and Bailey.

Had a great day out visiting sights around Yorkshire moors. Grosmont Station was a great visit, steam trains running that Sunday, we just sat on one of the benchs situated about the platform, soaking up the atmosphere of this 1950s-style railway station. The cafe is sit in or take away, the bacon butties were delicious and good value, there are seats inside and picnic benches outside. There are also free toilets there. Car park available, charges apply.

Lovely little cafe perfect place to stop for a cup of tea cake or a sandwich if you have any problems with Gluten on your vegan or vegetarian don't worry you are catered for. Children are made very welcome. A great place to stop and watch the trains Grosmont railway station is like stepping back in time to the 1950s. Usually it's not quite as busy as gothland.

Canny little tea room on station platform. Nice food. Tea was drinkable, not the best ever but wet! Food was a limited selection but enough for our needs.

This is a decent cafe for a steam railway. It's not a Gordon Ramsey restaurant folks, it's a cafe on a train station. Yes its basic but its a fair price with decent quality food and drink. At the end of the day you're going on one of the most picturesque lines in the country, all you need is a bite to eat and something to drink! It's still way better than your average cafe on a Northern Rail station!

Just like a railway tea room used to be

Lovely little tea room, at the moment they have added seating in a tent out back for extra space which is a bonus. Lovely hot drinks and a good selection of cold ones too, great choice of cakes and other baked goods plus some light meals available as well. We found it very reasonably priced indded which was a breath of fresh air as some heritage railways catering can be very expensive these days. Lovely friendly staff too, very much recommended

Wonderful setting by the church and looking down onto the station and tracks. Whoever makes the cakes is a marvel! The fresh crusty sandwiches are loaded with fillings and are delicious. Big teapots not tiny little ones, it was great. Well tended garden setting under a pergola with grapes and hops sprawling over and the sun shining. It was perfect. The steam trains were brilliant as well!!!

A little cafe in the steam train line that cuts through the North York Moors. The station cafe has certainly done (or not done!) Its bit to remain oldy woldy, except for the prices. They do your typical coffee and basic cooked breakfast. Certainly nothing amazing, but if you wanna sit in a waiting room from the war era, here you go.

Great cup of tea with a cake. Burger from the adjacent tent was excellent, local beef.

Always a favorite place to visit. Got some sandwiches from the station cafe today, first time and we can definitely recommend them👍

I had a few very enjoyable meals here during my stay in Grosmont.

Popped in for a quick bite to eat before catching the train back to Goathland. I had a amazing plant based ice-cream. Glad to see they now do oat milk.

Great little tearoom. And you can watch the trains go by! Please note the optimist train service does stop here but you cannot get off. Worth making a separate visit by car though!

Handy for teas, coffee etc and snacks. No meals at present due to covid. Open 10:00 - 15:00.

My first trip to Yorkshire, Grosmont and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. I had the most delicious gluten free carrot cake at the Grosmont Tea Shop. I was astounded that they would have anything gluten free, much less this amazingly light and satisfying cake. It was a revelation; I didn’t know that carrot cake didn’t have to be dense and heavy. If I’m ever in Grosmont again, I will certainly stop in at the tea shop to see what other GF treats they have on hand.

Mug of tea and scone, butter, and marmalade (I prefer marmalade!) Friendly and efficient service. I think it's attempting to be "of-it's time" so expect a bit basic, a bit chilly, a bit tatty. The tea and scone were absolutely fine.

Good range of food, be aware they stop serving hot food at 3pm though. You can still get sandwiches and lots of delicious cakes though. Extra seating is available in the pleasantly airy marquee if it gets busy.

Cups of tea were nice. The sausage and black pudding sarnie was minging. Very rubbery skin on the sausage and black pudding wasn't cooked for long enough.

Sweet little tea room on a countryside steam train line! Very popular and busy during warm weather. Good facilities for all needs. Nice little gift shop, if a little cramped. So difficult for disabled users...please be aware. Friendly, helpful staff if a little costly for a nostalgic train ride.

Cute little tea room part of the heritage station on N.Y.M.R . Clean with usual tea room menu. Friendly staff gets busy at times there is an overspill marquee near by.
