Popposed in for a three-scooper; seemed spotless, counter service was friendly with the employee politely manging the COVID-19 dynamics of 'one family in at a time'. Great ice cream; long queue outside; will return.

I've reviewed this place before, but for its excellent choice of ice cream. But more recently I've been going there for its coffee and cake. It's definitely the best coffee in Howden and the cakes are lovely. Try the vegan brownie, I've not tasted a more chocolatey, fudgy brownie!

Fancying an ice cream on the way home from our holiday, we stopped off at The Groovy Moo in Howden after searching for the nearest ice cream parlour on Google maps - we're glad we did. It's a proper ice cream parlour, clean and modern with young friendly staff, and a range of flavours to die for. My fiancee chose a 2 scoop chocolate cone with 1 scoop of Rhubarb & Custard, and 1 scoop of Amarena Cherry - both tasted gorgeous! I chose a 3 scoop waffle cone ( because I'm a pig! ) with 1 scoop of the following flavours, Raspberry Eton Mess, Zesty Orange, and Lemon & Lime. All of the flavours were of an equally high quality and the I thought the price was good at £8.35, we look forward to our next visit.

This is my 3 year old niece's favourite spot so we had to try it whilst we were in town. We got a lovely personal welcome as they know her as a regular. Flavour options were great and they tasted even better :)

Went to this parlour with my partner. Although the ice-cream was lovely the pricing wasn’t very clear.it says medium 2-3 scoops in cone or tub for one price but when we paid it was more than the price indicated.. would be back but will clarify the price before we purchase.

This place is a great addition to Howden town centre. A large selection of flavours awaits. The Bakewell tart flavour is a great taste experience, and the lemon varieties aren't far behind. The only issue I have with this place is the lack of fishy flavours, although I have it on good authority that this will soon be rectified.

Have found this lovely, bright Gelato in Howden a few weeks ago and every time we have been we have tried a different flavour Ice cream and coffee. Plenty of choice of flavours, dairy free and Gluten free varieties. All staff are very friendly and patient whilst you choose, and are pleased to answer any questions. Even the coffees good. Certainly going to be a regular for us, and can't wait to move onto the smoothies and cakes.

Visited today with my daughter and was greeted by friendly staff who let us try before we buy. The peanut butter cup ice cream was absolutely beautiful, definitely my favourite! Good value for money for quality artisan ice cream, can’t wait to return !

Popped in for a quick ice cream. Lovely swift service from a happy young lady and the ice cream did what it said on the tin. Good quality, a credit to Howden and fairly priced. The Malaga (rum and raisin) and Bakewell flavours were mmmmootiful.

Not only ice cream, which of course is fab, the coffee is better than any other in town. Whatever you have the place is bright, fresh and clean, not clinical as a previous review said, and served by a friendly young lady.

Had family up visiting so decided to go out for ice cream after Sunday lunch. Have never been here before but was very impressed by how clean and comfortable the place was. Very nice young girl served us and was very friendly. Great range of ice creams and cakes and the prices were amazing value. 2 huge scoops of ice cream for just £3.50 and they tasted amazing. Highly recommend.

We were visiting Malton for the day to see my uncles off licence (McMillans of Malton - must see!!) and we fancied an ice cream. We nearly popped into one that was in the town centre but after a quick google we spotted this one and I’m so glad we did. It’s tucked away in a little courtyard with other artisan producers and it’s amazing. We opted for a Nutella based ice cream and it really was beautiful, I highly recommend it!

I just love this place ! I always make a point of calling in for ice cream when shopping in Howden . Groovy Moo is ideally located below my favourite boutique , Lissi which itself is a bonus for me . The salted caramel ice cream is absolutely amazing , they also make coconut which is scrummy . I’ve not tried the coffees or cakes . The staff are always very obliging , my mum was in hospital and they provided her ice cream in carry out insulated box ( really perked her up ) . Staff friendly and very helpful ! Love it !

Called in for a drink and was rather disappointed to find that hot chocolate is a staggering £2.75 and an extra 50p if you want cream. It's served in a glass with no handle so hot to pick up. The prices are just too high for Howden-centre of York or London you expect to pay more. I agree with previous review too, it's all very clinical looking and plasticky. Same drink in the market place is £1.50 cheaper-we won't be visiting again.

If you're in the Howden area & like your ice cream, this is certainly the place to go. Not just your traditional ice cream parlour, they have some wonderful creative flavours which are definitely worth a try. Still have your traditional flavours on offer too, aswell as some delicious cakes. They have started to offer light lunches like sandwiches & wraps, but really need to stick to what they are good at - it is the ice cream here that is amazing, if a little expensive, but worth a treat!

A nice addition to Howdens market place but i was a little disappointed in the choice and the table and chairs are rather utilitarian. Could use something more comfy/colourful/inviting. expensive ice ream too. very nice staff and a nice change/treat.

Kids like the choice, but it seems expensive for what you get ice cream wise, and 2 of us did not like the coffee, don't think we will be going again.

Based on other reviews, I went here with high expectations. The food and drink exceeded tham in every way. I thought that, with the owner being Italian, they might do decent Italian food. They don't: they do sensational Italian food, and that's from someone who doesn't usually choose italian food. My main was seafood linguini with garlic bread at 15.95. When it arrived, i thought that the portion didn't look huge, but after I'd fought my way through 5 very large shell-on king prawns, about 15 mussels and 20 chunks of calamari, plus linguini, all covered in a rich tomato source, I realised otherwise. Sweet was lemon cheesecake, served with vanilla ice cream, fresh strawberries and fresh raspberries at 6.95. Washed down with a lovely pint of IPA and a pint of Old Peculier, the total cost was just under £30. Sensational value for this quality. My friend had the vegetarian quiche, which was also excellent. The pub is a delight; very traditional with lots of quiet corners and a lovely outside seating area for sunny days like when I visited. Lots of choice of cask beer: there were 8 on, mostly from local breweries, with a mild and an old ale. The locals are very friendly: indeed, I was chatting to the very same 2 locals someone else complained about and gave a 1* review for. They were really funny and we had a great time. I guess if you don't like humour, go to a boring pub full of non-people rather than a characterful pub like this. I can think of very few other places that offer this kind of quality and value: to be precise, none. Worth 6 stars.

Such a change to find a pub/restaurant that caters for vegetarians as well as vegans. If I'm eating out I want real food, not fake meat and fake cheese so it was a real treat to be offered apricot and Stilton pate and cheesy Wensleydale potato cakes with salad. Very friendly waitress and she was happy to check the ingredients of some of the dishes for me as I do have an unusual dietary restriction.

Birthday meal and as always superb food and service. All of the staff cannot do enough to make the experience the best. I do not know how they manage to maintain such a wide array of different dishes on the menu all of which are cooked to perfection. The swan is always our first choice for any special meal.

We would normally have gone to nearby Wetherspoons for breakfast but it was closed so we headed to Cafe V as it is number one on Trip Advisor. OK, it was our first time there so we didn't really know about the standard operating procedure. There were menus on the table so we took a seat, perused the menus and waited ...and waited ...and waited. Finally got up to where they were taking take-away orders and tried to place an order but were told to go back and someone would come to you (which they did). Anyway, moving on. The light breakfast was small but looked even smaller on the large plate it was served. Toast came on a separate large plate. I think it would have been visually more appealing to have had it all on the same plate. Food was tasty enough although the bacon was rather tasteless. Everything was hot (including the drinks). A bit on the pricey side and, all things considered, although we would go back, we won't be in a hurry to do so.
