It was a lovely breakfast, however I asked for a itemised receipt as we was paying for our own meals also so I could check it. The serving lady joted down on the back of the the note pad she took our order on. I questioned the amount she went through it and I said that's OK. Which was all fine, until I went to the toilet and herd her moaning about me to a man in the kitchen. Which at the end of it he replied axxx holes I suggest if you want to moan about a customer wait until they leave. I found thus very offesive and upsetting. Having used this establishment several times this was disappointing.

Despite having visited Northumberland over a number of years we have failed to stop for any length of time in Wooler. Well this year we did stop and found this wonderful cafe for coffees. Very friendly staff, great products and very clean. Will certainly re visit in 2025

So very friendly and great coffee. So glad to have found this via TripAdvisor. The waitress could not have been nicer. Coming from a city it was such a pleasure to find a place where staff treat customers as friends.

So pleased we found this lovely cafe. Very welcoming and friendly, serving a hearty cup (mug) of delicious coffee. The cheesecake was truly amazing - I just wish we’d had time to return for a lunch as the menu was extremely tempting! We’ll certainly be back next time we’re in the area. Keep up the good work guys🥰

We were passing Wooler & stopped for a walk around & found this establishment for lunch. We were pleased they accepted dogs, as we have 2. Also, they had vegetarian & vegan options on the menu. Convivial surroundings & good quality food.

This is a lovely coffee shop in Wooler. I came in by chance with my daughter (4) and we were glad we did. The staff made a fuss over her and got her crayons and paper, they were really friendly. The coffee was hot and strong and my cheese scone quite light and really pleasant, the place was spotless. None of which is rocket science but it's surprising how many places fall down on the basics or even just making the customer feel welcome. The prices were reasonable. If we lived locally we'd definitely be back. Recommended.

Warm welcome and delicious food. Highly recommend a visit to this lovely cafe/bistro if you are visiting Wooler, and even come just for the joy of eating here! The menu has plenty of choice and it's the best quality. Always have to take away a slice of cake for later too! Go. You won't be disappointed

Popped in here for a bit of lunch after walking up to Wooler Common on a lovely day. The cafe is lovely, spotless and has a great atmosphere. The staff are friendly, with a nice familiar chat, and to top it off, the food was delicious. I had the egg mayo roll and a latte, hubby had the Deli special and a pot of tea…he said it was the nicest lunch he’s had for a long time! A great find, and we’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area.

What a little gem of of a cafe. Went for a late breakfast/ early lunch welcomed by happy friendly staff. The cafe has a display of wall plaques that entertain you whilst you dine. The prices were very reasonable and the portions were huge. I had poached egg on toast which arrived hot and on granary toast. My husband had jacket potato with a pile of cheese, salad and coleslaw. The cake selection was fabulous. We took a piece of homemade cheese cake and a lemon curd cake home for later. The whole experience was very pleasant at a very good price. Would recommend.

I visit regularly because it is a calming, and very welcoming atmosphere. I usually spend all day and love the food, coffee, service, staff, laughter, conversations. I highly recommend. As a person with ADHD & Aspergers this is a very welcoming neuro inclusive place. Always feel welcome.

Warkworth has a small nucleus of great places to eat, and we'd never tried Bertrams, so we went. It was a no brainer given the quality of other reviews. The only downside was that we had to get in and out early so were nearly the first people in hence little "atmosphere" but that was our agenda not the restaurant, and we were there for the food... ... which was first class. Superb hake served with a beautiful herby crab pate and dauphinoise potatoes. The flavours were immense and everything was cooked to perfection. You notice the difference with real quality and top chef standards and this delivered for me. The lemon meringue dessert was the proverbial icing on the metaphorical cake. Superb.

My cousin and I were hugely impressed by Castaways. I had been reluctant to go because about 20 years ago the original café had been taken over by a useless couple. But when I passed and looked in, I could see that its original atmosphere had been recreated by the current management. Our reception was very friendly. The café was full (always a good sign) and we were third in the queue. Our table was soon ready and we were seatedby a waitress. We were very comfortable and the atmosphere was nice. Many pleasant people there as customers happily dining and chatting. Good choice of food and drink. I had the traditional breakfast and my cousin had… I think it was avocado and egg on sourdough bread. We were both very content with our lunch. I will certainly return and bring members of my family to enjoy castaways. Nicely sited, easy car parking and great views over Seaton Sluice and the sea. Get yourself along there and have a treat!
