Grill & Thrill in Birmingham

Haven't been for a while, few people recommended so I went. 2 burger meals and 2 seesh kebabs £30!!!!! Dead atmosphere. Guy behind the counter was clueless. You could tell they were making up prices. One guy was punching the air as it seemed he had nothing to do. Chicken burger was butchered, so dry and overdone! Won't be returning!

I order from here on a regular basis!! Usually there pretty decent , but ordered tonight half the order was missing then when I rang up the man who answered the phone was absolutely useless and not very helpful at all!! And the food we did receive was burnt! Terrible!!!

It's the worst food I've ever had in my life... I ordered half a grilled chicken with rice but in the next day I had stomach pains in the whole next day and felt like vomiting.

The worst experience ever I am literally traumatized. Ordered on the phone and asked to prepare once when to pick up the food was not ready waited 30 mins and when about to pay was told cash only even though I could see a cash machine. I was told to walk down few shops for cash having a toddler went few cash machines that was not working came back and told to go opposite directio. And desperate for the food for my toddler I went to the opposite direction only to find the machine was not working and one that was working swallowed my card. Came back and told the man asked him machine was not working the guys put the food away from counter and said ok. For saving their vat tax made customer run for over 20 min. My toddler was super hungry and kept on crying but restaurant did not had any gesture for the inconvenience I had experienced due to their preferred payment mathod. The hygiene of the people working was a big concern wearing dirty clothes and no gloves and eating while cooking in the open kitchen was terrible. Learnt my lesson never again

I paid 3.50 for this small portion. Not happy

This place has always been overcharging customers when it's time to settle the bill. It's happened to me and others I know who have dined there. On the last occasion I was charged extra and when I added up my bill in front of the owner who was managing the till, he realised and then proceeded to say that he was charging me extra for the salad which actually was not true as it is provided with most meals for free. Haven't returned to this place again and also my friends were charged nearly £15 extra a month back. No card payments, only cash, definitely fiddling the tax.

The fries were very bad and some saled bad Chiken Tikka its was good

Nothing fancy here like some drug dealers shops on ladypool road who try making everything look like Gordon Ramsey stuff in fancy decoration and neon lights, but always remember you are going to pay for that chair table and decor, this place is the best tasting food in the food triangle, Good portion, well priced and most of all very good food, do t let the taxi drivers pit you off, big sign if the food is good taxi drivers are there 💯💯👍🏽

From very long time and regular customers, i am shocked at this! Quality of food as seriously gone down hill! Very very overpriced compared to surrounding establishments that serve similar if not better food! Poor attitude from staff! Overall very disappointed bearing mind we have been coming here for 10+ years! Sad as just gone down hill. Not returing or recommending!

Always freshly cooked food. The guy at the till or who takes your order is a little slow but just bare with him. Great location with some parking on the side road. Chicken fillet burger meal recommended*

Good tasting food at reasonable prices, service is great. Plenty of parking can be found on side roads. There is plenty to choose from the menu, and the portions are a good decent size and are filling.

Dirty places dead food used to in joy sheek kebab from there places run down grill fillet chicken burger and fries were good few years. back standard drop big time waste of money and time lucky get one star local health and hygiene authorities needs to check the establishment places need very old school cleaning done

Been going here for more than 10 years at the start the food was great and was fresh and tasty. The atmosphere wasn't the best even since the beginning but the food was worth going for compared to these other resturants that had better interiors and looks. But recently it has gone downhill the food quality is abysmal and the portions are tiny and the prices are sky high. They also re did the interior but somehow made it worse and the booth seats are just not comfy at all. I'm giving it two stars because it wasn't that bad before but now I wouldn't even give it 1 star.

Rude desi staff, no courtesy or customer services, cleary have no ettiquettes or decency to provide good costum. A smile and politeness goes a long way.

Ordered Fish with Naan The Nan wasn't soft, was really hard, so chewy as well. The Water Jug wasn't washed, the glasses weren't clean. They also don't accept card.

Old school restaurant..still remember it was good back in the days, returned after soo long, not much has changed, portions weren't the best for price, but overall was decent for a quick bite, would recommend 👍🏻👍🏻😋

Went with a friend , ordered a chicken jalfrezi to share which was £8.50 and 3 roti for £3 , so total should be £11.50. When it was time to pay the owner or manager said total was £12.50. I obviously showed him how to add up which he didn't like as he was trying to get an extra pound from me and was caught out by me but he still insisted it was £12.50. He then said he had charged me for the salad which I know from previous experience is always free. Thing is we were regulars there but not anymore. This is not the only time he has tried to charge extra but has short changed in the past and don't know how many others have been overcharged also. Also it is cash only so pretty sure they are not declaring all their earnings Maybe need to be reported to hmrc.

Place was dead, ordered Masala fish in Nan and 2 cheese burger meals, man tried overcharging me by £7 and when questioned he said the prices on the menu are different. Food was 🤢

I ordered £60 worth of food and everything included was appalling in quality and quantity. This place is a waste of money. Prices are extremely high and taste extremely low. We also called the shop to get help for this, but they ignored us and hung up twice. I will never be re-ordering again from here. Do better.

Food hygiene rated at 2 yet their charging £9.50 for a simple chicken burger. Take your custom elsewhere, unless you want a light pocket and bad stomach!

The food is good and reasonable, however they need to improve the seating areas, make it more desirable. I liked their chargah chicken and not always consistent and lamb boti can be good at times

Amazing food 10/10 chicken curry and roti! Shame it came without mint yoghurt, which made it too spicy. Portion of curry was slightly smaller than expected as well.

I’m was very disappointed in the food, we are usually regular customers and we’ve never experienced this.

Excellent food and service. Told them I had turned up due to a recommendation. On overhearing this, another customer mentioned she comes over from Wolverhampton. Had lamb and chicken tikka. The lamb ones were outstanding - reminded me of mishkakis in East Africa. Was a pleasure to speak to the staff. The chef, Mo Afzal, had a slow start on life. Couldn't speak till the age of 15, and learnt to read much later. Now shines in everything that he does. The young looking manager, Abdul Bassit, was thorough and attentive. Perhaps me being a Londoner I'm easily pleased, but these guys for sure were exceptional.

I came here after 10 years Place doesn’t look all that Food was proper old school! 10/10 perfect Lamb chops were on point and real lamb not mutton Chicken tikka was proper marinated and cooked to perfection Naan was fresh and tasty Fries were cooked in clean oil and were Cooked perfect

I've been going to this place 10+ years and they've been consistent throughout. But recently the food has been well below standard. I threw it in the bin. The fries, full of oil and floppy. The chicken was grey and old. On top of that they have increased prices. Dead food. Won't be going back. You Lost a long standing customer..

Brilliant food - especially mixed Grill & Karahi's! Worth the money!

What to say? I wasn't expecting much and I didn't get much! Dry chicken, kebabs and chops. Grotty looking from the outside and definitely on the inside. Needs to be completely knocked down and rebuilt from scratch. Recommended? Definitely no, no, no!

If you can see beyond the ambience and the cleanliness of this establishment. Yes agreed the tables are sticky and the sauce bottles too. The toilet facilities are poor BUT the food here is great. Over the years I have eaten here many times when I'm visiting the area. I cannot fault the food at all it's freshly cooked the sheekh kebabs and grilled chicken are fantastic and really flavoursome so are the curries and nan and rotis. Some of the larger big names don't even have this type of tasty grilled food. Infact the starters here are better than some well established restaurants. The prices are really cheap compared to other establishments locally. Overall GREAT FOOD service is okay but the taste of the food overides everything else.

Hi, I would like to share this my personal experience with this restaurant and I hope most of my community fellow’s will be agreed with it. My first concerns is customer service is very poor and and very rude management there are no politeness and they misbehave while taking the orders. Second major issue is food is not cooked properly, it seems like no taste of the grill and most of the time The chicken is raw inside and it taste horrendous. Third the portion of the products are gone way too small in quantity which we used to buy for The amount and they have put the Huge price rise without Improving their quality. I would highly Not recommend This restaurant anymore. Thanks

The owner’s here are starting to raise there prices too high, went here for my regular that used to cost me £6 something not long ago as i am a regular, only to be asked for £8.80 when went to pay as tthwy had a price rise……….and the food quality is going down

Very nice food, specially their salmon fish is a must try. Their grilled burgers are fresh and spicy. Mixed grill is outstanding.

Don't bother guys.. Dry bland food.. Over priced. Small portions... I just had to try it... 1st and last time.

This is one of those places which I never plan on visiting again. If you feel disrespected somewhere then it’s gave over simple as that.

I have had a few experiences with this restaurant, the attitude has always been a problem but last visit, they literally crossed every limit of moral ethics. we came for daal tarka but then it was not there and we ordered lamb Biryani, the meat was either stale or improperly cooked, we told the waiter, he informed the manager, there was no response. we asked him if he would replace, they replied negatively, they even charged us for that stale Biryani. when we complained, they paid no head. it was extremely unprofessional and rude of them. I am never going to this place again. They should be reported to food authority for bad service and unhygenic food

"GRILL & THRILL & NOT BRILL" I tried this place few times. Don't know what all the hype is about really. Burnt dry food, small portions, attitude and they have bad habit of short changing you. This place was a spin off from ex-ZamZam staff from up the road years ago. It was good then but now I won't be visiting again. Don't recommend.

The antonym of thrill is depression. How a restaurant/takeaway has no chicken whatsoever is the equivalent of a pharmacy not having paracetamol. Seekh Kebab was nice, but the naan was disproportionate in size to the number of kebabs. So you have 2 kebabs and there is still so much naan left, I used it as a duvet to keep me warm. The mango lassi was fake. I know it’s meant to be yellow, but this was something else. I was subsequently diagnosed with yellow fever. More importantly the viscosity and taste were the determining factors in telling me that it was from a concentrate or some دھوکا was going on. They call me the connoisseur of lassi, so very naughty boys and girls serving me naqli lassi. Lucky Trading Standards don’t know what lassi means. Chilli sauce was so diluted that it would have been no different to having cut chillis in water and dipped my fries in there.

Grilled lamb chips and fries were amazing for £8. Loved the smokey charcoal flavour on the lamb chops tasted like high restaurant quality, i was really impressed! I would recommend the lamb chops from here as that is something they certainly specialise in. Great place!

My Big brother Taari, took me and my little brother ifty as a treat. we loved it. we loved the food so much our brother Taari took us back again a second time. Thank you taari paa. can’t wait until you take us back for a third time. 😋

I like the food, but the flooring needs a clean and fresh flooring ideally a whole new decor it's very old and haggard definitely needs a deep clean on carpets. Toilet definitely needs a deep clean too

Served my mix grill and gave me th naan after it was almost finished. Then got angrily told its on its way but never got th naan until th mixed grill was almost finished. 2 stars is generous as sheikh kebabs were under cooked.

Ordered a chicken karahi got a chicken jalfrezi instead..They need to review their prices on drink bottles as a 1 litre pepsi bottle cost £2.50 ..wow i mean seriously.need more privacy upstairs with families as a member of staff decided to pray where family is seated for privacy.

Always hot food served. Cheap and Churrpy. Satisfying. Chicken wings are quick fix and a favourite of mine. At times the customer service skills could be better on the counter/ staff ....but the quality of food makes up for it. IMO this place is great if your looking for a quick small and tasty fix.

Honest review....The food is good but very overpriced. I can recommend the seekh kebabs and chicken pakora. Staff don't seem very welcoming at all and can be rude at times. There are so many other shops nearby that offer better prices and provide better customer service.

Food was ok at one point now is terrible, you got the old man at the back making the chicken under cooked several times and when you tell them they say its the spices and to not come back again!! Tell them not to put onions but they don't listen and give you like a full sliced onion, staff are very rude and food has gone down hill , will never be going there again incase I find a maggot in my chicken next .
