My fiancée and i had a meal in the cast iron grill on Friday evening and had chosen the Valentines set menu, which I have to say was fantastic. From the minute we arrived the staff were very attentive and our waiter Will was brilliant. All of our courses were exceptional, Scallops were cooked to perfection, the Hake and the Venison were really lovely and there wasn’t a thing left on our plates. To finish off we had the chocolate sauce and bloodies, strawberries and marshmallows was a great way to finish the meal. We can’t wait to return and try more dishes.

Out of all the restaurants we have eaten in I have to say that this is the worst! When I booked the table I wasn't informed that it would be a £25 4 course carvery, which I believe we should have been told. On arriving our table wasn't ready but it was only a short wait so that wasn't too bad. However, not one single member of staff, and there was a lot, asked if we wanted a drink. My husband had to go to the bar next door and get us some. I had soup to start as there was only 1 Prawn cocktail on the buffet. There were no others left. The soup had far too much pepper in it. It nearly burnt my mouth out. My husband just had bread as my daughter had the last Prawn cocktail. As for the carvery, I would have rather gone to a Toby, so that should tell you how bad it was. It was basic! There wasn't a lot of choice and from what was on there it was warm not hot. The puddings were OK but not something I would have chosen if we were ordering off the usual menu. At the end of the meal, the server put the bill on our table and there was a £9 service charge. This is a personal pet peeve of mine. I really don't like it when they tell me what tip to leave. I certainly wasn't going to tip £9 for someone showing us to our table as that is where our service started and ended. £75 for something I could have eaten in a Toby Carvery. I'm now very glad I didn't pay for breakfast!

Made my daughter feel very special for her birthday. Food was beautifully presented and really tasty. She had sirloin with a mushroom sauce and I had the flat iron chicken. Smokey from the grill and very soft and succulent. We had just a little nibble between us and thank goodness as we were full and well satisfied. Best fries we both tasted in ages. Skin on, seasoned and a good portion. The staff were very attentive Jana particularly and Alison sang Happy Birthday discreetly but affective with a choc brownie. Definitely returning again soon.

We were seated on arrival and ordered a round of drinks, the waitress came over with them and said ‘we’ve ran out of that rum so if you want another one.. well.. you cant’ My partner and I both ordered a medium rare steak and some seasonal veg to go with it, we were brought out what I can only describe as fajita/stirfry mix & our steak was very overcooked but a couple of inches of mine was completely raw. We didn’t make a fuss and asked for the bill and the waiter slapped the bill down throwing it on the table infront of my partner saying ‘eres ya bill’ & walked off. My partner told them we hadn’t ordered the mixed pepper fajita bowl and when he went up to pay he overheard 2 waiters moaning that we did order it and quickly shut up when they saw my boyfriend. He asked for the 12.5% service charge to be removed as service was poor but still tipped £5 to be nice. Won’t be returning.

This experience was awful. I felt like I was eating at mickey mouses clubhouse, we was told upon booking that they was extremely busy so we couldn’t get the time we wanted, however when we arrived we was the only people in there. The food was cheap and nowhere near worth the price they was asking for. The bill was slapped down open infront of me and when we queried the price and why there was extra dishes on the bill. We ordered two steaks rare/medium both was well done. The steak it’s self was straight out of Asdas budget section it was full of gristle. 220g laughable. We was given what seemed to look like a fajita veg mix with our steaks as a side dish which we didn’t order. The kids that was serving us had no supervision and was all over the show. There was no designated server just an influx of kids checking in every two seconds repeatedly. The bill came to £91 with a service charge of 12.5% , when we queried the bill to why there was extra dishes on there they didn’t seem apologetic or tried to resolve the problem, they took £11 pounds of the bill in total for what was overall one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. I don’t even think this food would pass as drunk munch

With all the restrictions over the last months we were looking forward to celebrating 45 years of marriage with a lunch and stay at the Marriot Worsley where we have stayed several times before. We understand the difficulties of operating under Covid rules but were disappointed to be seated in the golf members bar rather than the attractive main restaurant, clearly to limit the spaces required to service customers but with large wall tv and no table cloth it certainly lacked the atmosphere! Our steaks were ok. The champagne was vastly overpriced. but the waiter was very pleasant and doing his best. Our bedroom was ok but tired and ready for a refurbishment. These are tough times for everyone but we hope this lovely hotel can regain its mojo swiftly once this terrible pandemic is over.

The Valentine menu was to be honest not very inspirational so we went for the grill options and a nice bottle of wine. I had the piri piri spatchcock chicken with skinny fries and tenderstem broccoli chilli and garlic; my wife and son had the Full Rack of Ribs one with slaw and sweet potato fries & the other with haloumi fries; my daughter had the BB & piri piri wings with sweet potato fries. Massive portions, delicious, so much food that we did not have room for dessert, which looked rather nice! Off to bed and an early start for the morning where we fuelled up with breakfast great choice of fresh fruits, cereals, juices, pastries and full cooked with lovely coffee etc.

We visited the last Thursday in April 2019 to take advantage of their promotional 40% members discount. It’s quite a small menu, we chose a scallop starter and a chorizo one. The 3 massive scallops being very well presented and very, very tasty and similarly the chorizo was lovely, served on toasted bread. On to mains: I had fillet steak served with tomato, mushrooms and a perfect peppercorn sauce with a side order of sweet potato fries. While not a massive piece of steak, it was cooked to perfection and very tasty. My fiancée had sea bass again with tomato, mushroom with a side order of garlic & chilli broccoli. She struggled more with the menu given she doesn’t eat meat and doesn’t like fish with skin on. Nevertheless we both cleared our plates with little waste. Drinks are reasonably priced and with a great selection especially if you’re a gin lover. We opted for a pint of Beck’s Vier and a glass or two of Pinot Blush. Service was great and our waitress - Olivia - was attentive and helpful without being overbearing; nothing being too much trouble. We’re lucky to have this beautiful hotel and restaurant on our doorstep and would have no doubt in recommending it to friends and family. The setting is stunning within a hotel & Country Club complex, co- located with a top notch golf course and a nice pub - Worsley Old Hall - next door (only a few steps away). The bar and outside space is lovely too and literally 1/4 mile from Junction 13 of the M60. I recommend the scallops starter at £14.00 followed with fillet steak main at £30.00. A tad pricey at full price but I guess you get what you pay for!All-in-all a lovely meal out for a very reasonable discounted price. I’m not sure we’d be regulars at full price but can’t wait for their next promotional offer. Well-done Grill In The Park, we’ll be back soon.

Food was okay but not worth the price. £27 for a mediocre sirloin steak and then an extra £4 if you wanted chips with it! Staff were pleasant enough, although at these prices I expect them to be smartly dressed and not wearing denim jeans - What the hell is that all about? Not for me I'm afraid and certainly won't be recommending this restaurant.

Went here after booking as we had a spa day at the hotel. Nobody else in the place and the nice manager recalled seeing our booking. She was very friendly and sat us down. The surroundings are lovely but unfortunately that's where it ended. To cut a long story short, we waited over an hour for food and when it came one of the meals was burnt and inedible (club Sandwich with black toast). The manager agreed this was unacceptable and thankfully said they would not charge us and we could re order but unfortunately we were booked in for a massage and didn't have time to and after our experience nor did we want to. I shared half of my quesadilla (with no cheese on and no BBQ sauce as advertised) with my partner as we were both starving by this point. It was obvious the kitchen were more interested in serving buffet to a group of people in suits who arrived about 20 minutes after us. There was no word of a wait from the staff except that, when i chased our order up after an hour we were told there was a problem with the fryer. Why we couldn't have been told this before waiting an hour i don't know. It would have been better to close off the kitchen for other orders as they obviously were too pushed with the buffet. I was so disappointed as it's not often we get a child free day and a meal to ourselves. I so wanted this place to be lovely as it has it all, friendly staff, lovely ambiance and a decent menu. Unfortunately this experience has put me off for life and I will not be returning. The only good thing is that we didn't have to pay but quite frankly, not much of our meal was edible.

We had the Sunday lunch carvery. The food options were good, but too much of the carvery was cold. We were the first to eat at 1pm and the meat, Yorkshire puddings and serving plates were all cold. The chef serving the meats was miserable. The vegetables were warm but when you got back to your seat you were eating barely-warm food. Having warm plates would be a start. The waiting staff were all very casually dressed. I would not really expect to be served by staff wearing jeans - just too informal. It’s all ok, with a good selection of fresh food for starters and a good selection of sweet options.

We went on a Saturday evening in February after deciding we would try somewhere new for a birthday meal for my brother. The surroundings are lovely, and in the summer months would be delightful to sit in the courtyard. We just had a charred flatbreads platter to share as a starter. It was lovely, just enough to nibble on while we waited for the mains. For mains we chose fillets steaks, all 3 of us. Although small even for fillets they were cooked just as we had each requested , accompanied by a portion of chunky chips. Yes there weren't many chips per portion but those we got were large and more than enough for us, especially for Mum and I.Both Mum and I fancied the panna cotta but we don't like rhubarb, not a problem as apparently the rhubarb is served on the side and the lovely waitress asked if we'd like strawberries instead. Much appreciated. My bother had the cheese board dessert, there was plenty on there for him.All this was accompanied by a bottle of wine and then we finished off with liquer coffees. Also as I'd boked online and the was a question asking if it was for any celebration I had put it was for a birthday and my brother was presented with a special dessert as well. All in all though definitely not the cheapest meal I've ever had it was worth it .Definitely would recommend for a special occasion.

Firstly let me start by saying that we dine here every 2 months or so & today’s visit was sadly no where up to the usual standard of service. We had booked a table for 3 for 1pm but arrived slightly early at 12.50pm. We walked down to the restaurant desk & couldn’t see any staff so I walked into the restaurant to find a member of staff rooting in the cutlery cupboard. I said hello & said that we had a table booked for 1pm. The lady looked at her watch & said they open at 1pm. Errrrm, ok, we’ll just stand & wait at the desk for 10 minutes then. Not the best welcome! A few seconds later a blonde haired lady appeared & took our booking details. We were then shown to a booth style table next to the glass wine display. A wine list was left & we were told to help ourselves. A table of 2 that arrived minutes after us had coats taken. This was not offered to us so we folded the coats next to us on the bench seating. No one came to take our drinks order, instead the table of 2 that arrived after us did. We gave up & went to help ourselves to the delicious selection of starters. When we had finished these, still no one had asked for our drink order, so I ended up stopping a young waiter who was walking past & asked him if we could order some drinks. Drinks order taken we got up to select our main. The rare beef was delicious, but I would really like to see a more varied vegetable selection. Also, some lids on the heat servers were broken completely or hanging on one arm. Not something I expect from such a hotel. As usual the food was of a good standard, but service on this occasion was awful. The bill arrived & a 12.5% service charge had been added for a table of 3. Why for a table of 3? I think this is wrong of the restaurant & tipping should dependant on service. I would have left a tip, we always do. But 12.5% for a 4 course meal you get up & help yourself to (other than the soup course which is brought to you) is ridiculous. We dined as a table for 2 on Father’s Day & a service charge wasn’t added then. Today’s customer service was none existent. We have never experienced service like this before & so we hope it’s just a one off. After today’s visit, we won’t be in a rush to visit again.

Enjoying a few days away before returning to work and whilst not wishing to venture too far on our first evening we booked a table at the Grill in the park. Due to the festive period a limited menu was available, some may have chosen to opt out, in our opinion their loss. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 course meal at a very reasonable price for some really tasty and well cooked food, happy to recommend the Starter Salmon, beef hash brown and then steak/bbq chicken, finished off with Lemon Panacotta. If the full menu reflects the limited menu some great food available!!

Stayed for 2 nights at the hotel and we were presented with a voucher to join in the cocktail making/tasting at 6.30pm.Very enjoyable cocktail (party in the park) - had two or three of them as not many guests turned up so we could have a few more.Meal itself was very nice and tasty for a "hotel" - sometimes it can be very hit and miss but this was very nice. Super friendly staff, all very happy and chatty. All in excellent visit.

I received an invitation to a cocktail taster which was very interesting. The assistant manager was very professional and friendly and got myself and other guests to join in when making their very own “grill in the park” cocktail. This would be a perfect idea for a weekend with friends before a meal! The cocktail itself was lovely and moreish (I bought 2 more afterwards). There was also talk of a Halloween cocktail next week. I may have to pop in then! The food of course was delicious as always, the prawns in particular were so tasty. Service excellent. Loving the new grill concept and classy decor. The playlist sets a perfect vibe, too.

We booked online last minute and we were surprised to book a table. The restaurant is a great addition to the Marriott (enter through the front and follow round to the left) it's beautifully decorated and a very peaceful atmosphere. There is plenty of dishes to choose and the crab cakes were fantastic along with the ribs! We were happy with the service as all the staff were lovely and prompt. The drinks are a little pricey and some of the dishes but being a hotel this is quite common. Defiantly recommended as we will very likely return and even take more family along. You can book a table online which is easy.

My wife and I used the hotel as a base for doing day trips west and south of Manchester and always looked forward to returning to the restaurant each evening for a wide selection on the dinner menu and a very attentive staff. The breakfast buffets was also plentiful with many selections.

A very stylish decorated restaurant situated in the Marriott Hotel.Very efficient and pleasant staff who could not do enough for the customers. Those are the positives taken from the visit. The food was extremely overpriced and very disappointing. The menu was limited in choice not what you would expect for the prices charged.the rack of ribs were more bone and fat than meat really poor quality. The brisket starter was tasteless.A very poor experience. There are better grills and smokehouse experience nearby that provide better quality menu choice and food.Had higher expectations as the Sunday Carvery served at the Marriott is sublime best in the area.

This was our first visit here, and I was pleasantly surprised at the value for money, i was expecting the prices to be a little higher from the look of the restaurant and level of professionalism we received. I loved the food and will definitely be returning soon.

I have visited the restaurant on several occasions but never for Sunday lunch so thought that I would give it a try. When I telephoned the day before to make the reservation a lovely young man took the call whose name escapes me (Stefan??Ben??).I asked him if there were Vegan options available at Sunday lunch. He informed me that there was soup and/or salad to start, a mushroom risotto for main. He stated that the on-site Pastry chef was Vegan and (on request) would make me a suitable dessert.I mentioned that Chocolate mousse was my favourite and he said that he would ask the Pastry Chef what she could do and get back to me. He rang me shortly afterwards and said that she had kindly agreed to make the mousse.I thought this was a nice touch and was very pleased at the exceptional customer service I received. When my friend and I arrived at the restaurant on Sunday afternoon we were given a warm and friendly greeting by a pretty young girl named Olivia.Olivia was our server throughout and was polite, friendly, helpful and professional. All of the food was yummy, well presented using good quality ingredients. The place itself is decorated to a high standard, spotlessly clean with a nice atmosphere.I look forward to visiting again in the near future.

This was our second visit here, the first time we were part of a large party and we all really enjoyed it, this time I went with my wife for a quiet night out. On both occasions the service and the food were top notch. I would definitely recommend the carvary on a Sunday evening as it is very good value for money and excellent quality. It was £23.50 per person for a four or 5 course meal in nice quiet surroundings with no kids running around, clean crockery and cutlery and most importantly good quality well cooked food.

Fantastic service at this place, the waiters and waitresses are genuinely friendly and attentive. I had the rump steak which was pretty good, tasty but a little chewy (even though it was rare). Caesar salad to start was average but the dessert was good

The carvery is £23.50 pp and includes three buffets: starters, mains and dessert. The starters included prawns, smoked salmon, rollmops, cold meat, potato salad, bread rolls and various other salady bits. Lovely. There are usually two roast meat options, a vegetarian option, fish and a meat option which isn't a roast. (I've had lamb chops before but on this visit it was lamb hot pot which was actually a lamb stew (not neck end and no potato on top) and was excellent. Two failings of the carvery – while the beef was beautifully cooked, rare, the guy who carved it didn't seem to know that beef should be carved thinly and instead offered very thick slices. Secondly, the roast potatoes looked fantastic but were soggy and chewy and to be avoided. Stick to the new potatoes. There were three veg options, cauli and broccoli cheese (not good for a lactose intolerant person), red cabbage and lovely al dente fresh carrots. There was fruit salad amid a very enticing (and full of lactose!) dessert buffet and the waiting staff, who were all brilliant and very friendly, found me some goat's cheese as the cheese on the dessert buffet didn't include anything I could eat. I'd go again without hesitation but it would be great if they could work out a way of keeping the roast potatoes hot and crispy.

We were stopping in the hotel on a DBB deal, so had 2 dinners and 2 breakfasts in this reataurant, and overall found it to be pretty good. Breakfasts were the usual fare - cooked food, cereals, fruit, pastries etc, but well presented and regularly restocked. Dinners were both good - off both the set menu and the a la carte. Fish and chips in particular was impressive, and service was very friendly and helpful. On the first night the wait for food was a bit too long, but I think that was because there were a number of large groups in, and it didn't really create a problem. Overall, very good.

This is our second visit to 'Grill In The Park' at the Marriott Worsley. It is consistent and excellent value for money. There is a starter platter buffet with cold meat, prawns, salads and rice. Then there is a choice of soups. All that before your carvery main. There is a selection of meats, including a fish option and a vegetarian option. All the vegetables are fresh and plentiful. I'm not a fan of buffets or carvery's but this is quality above the norm. The dessert table is extensive and there's more than enough to finish of an already big meal. I recommend the hot option with fresh custard. I'd recommend this place to anyone, whether it's couple, families or a celebration. The staff were all friendly and attentive, especially Carol. It's a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Ate lunch and breakfast at The Grill. Service was exceptional at the lunch meal. Had soup and bread. Soup was hot and tasted fine. Bread was a slightly "doughy" - like it had been squished and was not rising again. Breakfast was adequate - hot buffet breakfast that tasted like it had sat for a while. Omelette maker with one pan going said she was 5 behind and it would be at least 20 minutes if we wished to order an omelette. Toast offerings were bread only (no english muffins or bagels).

We stayed at the Worsley Park and booked a table for 6 at the Grill. We wanted a table for 7:30, but we're told that 7:30 wasn't available and it would have to be 7:15. Rocked up at 7:15 to a sparsely populated restaurant and went straight to our table. The restaurant didn't get any busier, which left us wondering why we couldn't have had a 7:30 table. The food was ok, but nothing special. The service was prompt and friendly, but then the restaurant was pretty empty.

We chose the Carvery option for dinner on our recent stay at Worsley Park.We were not disappointed-the array of cold meats, fish & salads were amazing ,along with pork pie, scotch eggs & rollmops.Everything was fresh & renewed regularly & staff were most attentive.A soup course x2 was served to our table followed by a trip to the carving & hot food station. The roast beef was pink, moist & delicious & my husband felt the same about his Easter lamb.Salmon, chicken pie & veg pasta were also offered along with tasty vegetables & sauces.Afterwards there are ample sweets & cheeses to savour & a hearty feast was had,Roll on next trip!

i booked a table for lunch today. The hotel website displayed the a la carte menu. On arrival we were given a basis burger/sandwich menu & told that the full menu was only available in the evening. When we complained, telling them that this was not indicated, we were told that we could chose from the a la carte menu - it might take awhile because nothing is prepared. To keep things simple, I ordered steak which was barely passable with fat chips which needed longer. My wife ordered chicken ceasar salad, with no parmesan cheese or croutons just lettuce. The sharing starter [focaccia bread & pesto etc] had obviously been in the freezer when we arrived. The chefs obviously were not interested unless you are prepared to order a sandwich. As a gesture, they deducted a few £'s for no dressings!! The bill was out of all proportion to the standard etc. Interestingly, within a few hours of leaving, the menu had been taken off the website. If you want a well prepared lunch with plenty of choice go elsewhere!

We were staying in the hotel for a short break and decided to have a meal on the last night. The food was lovely! We ordered mussels & fries (the portion was huge and absolutely delicious!) and sirloin steak with chips and broccoli, seemed to go down well. We also had desserts, the deconstructed lemon meringue was lovely as was the milk chocolate fondant. Only moan is the wine prices (2 glasses came to over £19) but this seems to be the hotel way these days! The service was excellent and we have a lovely quiet booth at the back which was nice to just be able to relax for the evening.

If you are thinking of a nice meal out in Worsley, don't disregard Grill in the Park purely because it's in a hotel. The food, service and ambiance was outstanding. Myself and my partner had the prawns to start and the steak for main - both exquisite. Service by Shaun and Sam was faultless. They were very polite, yet genuine and charismatic! Magda was also very attentive, paying attention to small details like topping up water and making sure everything was ok. The staff are well trained, this is easy to see. Overall a wonderful night with great food and good vibes. Will be returning for sure!

visited about 2 years ago and it was great,. great i was very impressed. Visited last week and it was average. 2 years ago pork, lamb and beef and fish.. recent visit beef and ham and some fish and pork in a sauce. Not very apetising on the whole and prices this time were up on last time. the whole feeling was that they were trying to make more profit /money by reducing choice.Starters were average, sweets were average and main course was not impressive at all, not like it used to be. I was with diners who had frequented before and they were disappointed. I would not recommend it. Wine prices were out of this planet... how can they justify these crazy prices? Staff were good and friendly but food was not. 1 vegan and 1 vegetarian left waiting for a long time without food as pre notice about these requirements had not been picked up by staff.. not good at all

If you are visiting the Worsley Park hotel, I highly recommend eating at this restaurant.A fantastic selection on the menu - I had the best French Onion soup I have ever had, with Mrs. Kirkham's cheesy toast.I loved the milk chocolate fondant pudding, so delicious. We ate here as part of the Hotel, Spa & Meal deal. We chose our plates from a set menu. The food came out very quickly so possibly pre made. Starters- Potted shrimps were only hot on top. Chicken Liver Pate was very generic and the toast was cold. Mains - Spicy sausage pasta didn't taste of much. Chicken in sauce was nice. Deserts - Honey cake was quite dry but ice cream was delicious. Lemon Meringue was kinda deconstructed pie with best part being Lemon Ice cream. The restaurant was busy for a Thursday night so the food must be better off the Main menu. The decor was modern and up to date. The staff were polite and very helpful.

Dined here some time ago but decided to visit again after the recent refurbishment and we were impressed with the new design. Made a reservation through Kelly who was very helpful ensuring that we were given the table we wanted. Varied menu and we enjoyed the game terrine starter. We chose sea bass and flat iron steak for our main course, both were excellent. We thought the side orders were rather expensive at £3 and the wines are expensive. We must congratulate the person responsible for staff training as the service provided by Ethan and Sam was exemplary. Both were pleasant and very professional and a credit to the restaurant. Would recommend.
