Is a shame we look for a Portuguese restaurant and says is open so we do 50 miles to have a meal and is just closed. Should be more careful with information we was 12 persons.... But they make us loose time but they lost our money and never will go there again

Very good food, well seasoned. I tried the francesinha today and I was impressed with how delicious it is! Good service, very pleasant atmosphere, extremely clean and organized. Congratulations to everyone 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I came here for a party and we all thought that this place was terrible. The food was mediocre, it had no flavour in that olive oil is the only seasoning they seem to have. Definitely not proper tapas. They also served chips when we asked for potatoes, and for one dish didn’t even give chips or potatoes despite it being on the menu. The service was the worst part, they tried to overcharge us in the hope that we would not notice by increasing the prices of some of the dishes on the bill as we were a group , and actually corrected it when we pointed it out. They did this for three dishes not just one. It was also very slow and they pretty much ignored our table, brought things here and there rather than at the same time, and for some reason the salad was at the end despite it needing barely any preparation. I can’t think of anything good about this place as both the food and service were some of the worst in Manchester.

Too expensive... 1/2 chicken with side of fries and salad £14 ??? Not even nandos sells 1/2 chicken with sides for that much.

Worst restaurant experience ever. Do not visit if you enjoy good food and nice customer service. The manager and one of the ladies even tried to argue with us at the end because we refused to pay for a dish we sent back due to its lack of quality! We waited for nearly 30 mins just for the appetisers and even more for the main dishes. Also, portions are extremely small (especially for the Bavalhau/Polvo) - certainly not worth £25.

since we have discovered this place, we just cannot stop ourselves from coming back again and again. we have invited friends to visit this place from a different city, and they have agreed that it was absolutely worth the drive. food is always fresh and authentic. it sets us back to our visit of Oporto. staff is very friendly and helpful. Casal Garcia vinho verde is to die for! we cannot recommend enough this place. it's a true gem of whole Greater Manchester postcode! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I order a portuguese dish called "carne de porco alentejana" basiclay is slice fried pork with chips in cubs and clams with same pickles. The food was very tasty cooked to perfection. The negative side was almost 50m waiting for the food in a empty restaurante even if was cooked fresh, and i found it a bit overpriced same of the dishes.

It's a more familiar and relaxed place. If you're expecting 5-star table service, this isn't the right place. The man who served was not at all unfriendly, he even drank a shot at the end. The food was very good, the only thing missing was the francesinha sauce because when I asked for more sauce the information I was given was that there wasn't any more as they make it to measure 🤔 and as I'm from the land of francesinha, the answer given gave wings to my mind. if you started to question 🤯. Reasonably easy parking.

Manchester is the closest to Portugal. Bloody good.

poor service, many things that were on the menu were not available in the restaurant . The food is not the best . They have just one men employee it was very nice the rest very rude .. so dont recommend this restaurant !

The food quality doesn't justify the prices; by the time I arrived home, my stomach was already rumbling. The interior was cold, and there was no soap or warm water in the bathroom, to wash your hands. When we requested the check, they initially claimed it was cash-only, but after insisting, they suddenly confirmed the card machine was working fine. I don't recommend this place.

Moved back to Manchester and today revisited this place it is still as good if not better than before 👍Amazing tapas, great piri piri chicken and fish. Go you won’t be disappointed. Fab service. Can’t wait to return. Thank you 🙏

This spot is great for traditional Portuguese food cooked to perfection! The service was impeccable and everyone was so welcoming. The food portions were excellent value for money too! It’s not easy to find great service, food and ambience in one place but Meu Portugal is that one place and I will definitely return.

A small cosy looking restaurant with around 20 to 30 covers max. To begin with, we arrived on a very cold evening to a pre-booked table for 8 of us. Friendly waiter, no music so very little by way of atmosphere. Ordered some pre starters of olives, cheese, bread along with some red wine. No attempt was made to make it look appealing or appetising. Cheese had been clearly just removed from the fridge pre sliced and covered with cling film and put on the table. Same with the bread french sticks sliced and placed in a bowl. The room was very cold and we had to request on several occasions to either turn on the heating or else turn the temp up. Despite having a rather small menu,was surprised to discover much of it not available! Plates were literally freezing.had to request waiter to heat the plates before serving food. Various dishes were ordered and served.the seafood dishes were most tasty. Other dishes were fairly basic. The lack of heating and music clearly spoiled the event. Won't be going back. Parking is a major issue.

Lovely restaurant, the owner is amazing and super friendly. Smile in his face and you can see the passion for the job. One of those restaurants that if I’m close by that’s where I’m heading!!!

The place has a great basis to start with, staff who clearly love what they do. A really warm welcome was given and table service was fantastic! The resturant has a warm feel about it and plenty of space between other tables rather than shoe horning people in to the max. The food looked fantastic but with starters and mains being brought out at random intervals it led to some being well fed early and some waiting till much later to eat. I guess the kitchen staff have room for improvement on this? The food was enjoyed by most, but in my own opinion a more varied menu should be brought in ti cater for vegetarian and vegan diners as the current menu does not really cater for them. I know the Portuguese have a great way of cooking with a variety of vegetables and I think this resturant would do amazing by exploring that side to cater for everyone. This is a very nice establishment which in my opinion has the opportunities to be even better, I would love to see this on my next visit! Thank you.

It appeared that it is open till 22:00 but I arrived at 20:30, and the employee told me that they close earlier when they don’t have costumers.

Authentic, freshly prepared, delicious Portuguese food was well worth the wait. Hosted by a very 'simpático' Portuguese chef with 'Fado' the soul of Poruguese music playing in the background made the outing a truly memorable Portuguese experience.

Lovely guy running this place and proper authentic Portuguese food in a proper authentic space with lovely fado music in the background. I’ve got a fussy dad and he had no complaints which means they did real good 😂

The REAL PORTUGUESE EXPERIENCE! What else can I say? The food is delicious, the staff are amazing and the atmosphere is great. Recommend!

Lovely atmosphere, but it didn’t meet expectations. Long wait for food/service and expensive meals that didn’t include the traditional sides. For example, the bitoque did not come with salad nor were beef steaks available. Also, the ‘kids’ meal, which isn’t on the menu, is ~£7 and the nuggets tasted like Asda Smart Price. The pork slices and chips were delicious, though.

It was my first time going, to a Meu Portugal restaurant in Salford. I confess that the first impression was the way it was received, by a very friendly employee, the space was very welcoming, and beautiful. More with regard to the menus, very bad service, for the price it is. In all my life I had never ordered a bitoque, that didn't have eggs, and not just as I had to choose between french fries or rice. I think it's true bitoque, it's essential to see these three things, the least. Hope this helps... Thanks Vania

Tapas came cold, not tasty and instead of roast potatoes came just boiled potatoes. My friend was waiting for his meatballs and salad for about half an hour, mushrooms were oily and not seasoned. Garlic bread was burnt and choriso once cooked came on the table cold.

Visitamos o restaurante num domingo, fomos bem recebidos e atendidos. Partilhamos vários Tapas, um Prato Principal e dois Sides. O serviço foi bom pois os pratinhos foram chegando a medida que estavam prontos o que ajudaram na experiência em geral. Azeitonas, pão com alho, cogumelos com queijo, almôndegas no molho francesinha, pastéis de bacalhau, costeletas de borrego e gambás a guilho e Os pratinhos estavam bem apresentados e muito saborosos com destaque para os cogumelos, as costeletas de borrego e as almôndegas que superaram a minha expectativa. Partilhamos também um prato de Picanha Grelhada que estava muito bem Temperada (sal) e grelhada ao ponto, médio mas sem sangue. Muito bom. Batatas fritas e as excelentes batatas no forno acompanharam a nossa refeição. Em geral, a nossa experiência foi muito boa, o ambiente, a música, o serviço muito bom e autêntico. A comida estava muito saborosa e as porções não sendo generosas são semelhantes a todos os outros restaurantes em Manchester. O serviço foi atencioso e simpático por isso não só recomendo como espero voltar em breve.

Sou pouco de fazer críticas a restaurantes , mas lendo a última crítica sinto me na obrigação de por palavras vos dizer que é uma crítica que só pode ser por maldade e de vingança , eu sou Português e o “Meu Portugal” faz me quase todas as semanas matar saudades de Portugal , a comida é maravilhosa , aconselho o polvo , todas as entradas , as bifanas ( tomaram muitos em Portugal fazer umas bifanas divinais como o Meu Portugal faz) tem uma garrafeira de fazer inveja a muitos e la está a bela da cerveja portuguesa e o famoso sumol . A higiene é top , aliás tem um rating máximo e o serviço e 5 estrelas . Não se espera muito para comer e a comida é divinal a fazer lembrar me que estou em Portugal e sempre acompanhado de música portuguesa de fundo. Aconselho vivamente a experimentar É 5 estrelas

The food was DISGUSTING the service was TERRIBLE it reeked of WEE never go there unless you want to get SEVERELY ILL

We have been regulars at Meu Portugal for a few years and we're never disappointed. A family run restaurant with real heart. The food is always very good, but lately it has somehow gotten even better. We had their prawns which are delicious in an intensified prawn liqueur and with a side of gently charred bread is sublime. The staff are lovely. Please support this local owned and operated little slice of Portugal in Salford.

Best portuguese food in Manchester

For a good meal healthy and food with taste and the cold pint of Portugues beers and the people are amazing. I'm there all the time.

The service provided by Elsa was 5 stars. Just find it quite expensive for really small portions as starters and bitoques at same price of 10 oz serloin in any restaurant. But overall good

2nd time I order delivery from them. 1st time was good and this 2nd was awful. The quantity was inadequate and the taste was bland. Also had a terrible experience with the delivery driver.

Food are great. Can be better if bigger portion. Waitress there kept coming to collet our dishes for more than 5 times during our 1.5hours dinner, she is very hard working.

Well, It was a sunny Sunday morning and I just wanted to have a warm coffee, why not with a desert? I enjoyed the Orange cake so much. The place is worm and the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming.don’t judge my photo I swear it was sunny :)

Good experience on a Friday night. Staff are welcoming and the majority of the food was great. £55 for starters, tapas dishes and a bottle of wine is a great price. Areas I would consider improving: -The cool white lighting does not give off a warm welcoming restaurant feel. Instead it felt like a commercial office with tables. -Music was on and off through the service. Provided an awkward atmosphere when the music was off. -The mushroom tapas dish on offer was literally covered entirely with melted cheese. No flavour of the mushrooms, just greasy cheese. Props to the Portuguese sausage, our favourite by far. Will be returning

As a very Portuguese fussy woman with a also very fussy British husband, I have to say the food is super fresh, presentation was amazing and tasted sooo good! I had the grilled fish and my husband the famous fried salted cod which I tend not to eat as if not cooked properly it is horrendous but the chef cooked it to perfection… it just melted in your mouth! When we are back in Manchester, we will defo come back here again and we have already recommended it to friends & family!

We stopped here on the way to central Manchester spontaneously. Best Portuguese we’ve had outside of Portugal. Had the Portuguese steak sandwich was amazing with the sauce. The chicken wings were also incredibly tasty. Will be returning regularly!

My husbands Portuguese it was his birthday and we were not from around Salford but found ourselves in the area for the Uni so we researched and took a chance on Meu Portugal, it surely did not disappoint every meal was absolutely delicious , right down to the starters , drinks mains and desserts. I would also highly recommend the service it was such a comfortable Portuguese atmosphere with Fado music on in the background It will get us through to our our next visit to the Algarve We will be back , just a shame we don't live nearer Ate breve Muito Obrigado Date of visit: November 2022

Really great Portuguese food and atmosphere. Prices are quite similar to everywhere else . Definitely would recommend this place to everyone else. Fast and friendly service , clean toilets , there is a baby changing area too. Will come back again!

Very friendly restaurant with good Portuguese food

Fantastic. I called up to get some pastel de nada.. came and collected them in 20 minutes. Great service and friendly young lady at the bar was extremely helpful. Pastels were delicious!!!

Bad experience. Food was bad and with no taste (beans without taste, rice without taste, picanha to well done, steak well done and with no taste hard like a shoe bottom), expensive. Drinks I don't know where you learned it but sangria comes with fruit in the jar not with fruit on the cup. After ordering everything in advance first thing after arrival that we were informed is that they only had 2 alheiras out of a order of 4. The gentleman behind the till had no clue of what he was doing, the lady serving needed more experience but well done to her for the effort, the gentleman serving thanks and well done to him for trying to help, 2 stars just for the service people. Don't put the lights down for people to have food it's just a display of bad ways to treat a client. Good luck for the next clients.

Great food and atmosphere serving authentic Portuguese food. The staff are friendly and welcoming. This was my first time and I'm highly impressed with the quality and the service. Wonderful place. They also play beautiful Portuguese songs. Will definitely return again and again and again. 👍👍👍

Best Portuguese outside of Portugal! Food amazing - service is really professional and friendly. Squid starter was delicious as were the mushrooms in cheese. The chickens can be spiced to whatever taste you like. Look forward to returning very soon.

Booked a table at 130 and it's now 430 and we are still waiting on dessert, service not good at all

Excellent food. Lovely staff and love the music. We came Wednesday afternoon because we don't like crowded places. The De Natas for sweet with cinnamon and coffee were beautiful as was all the food. Very clean place.

Amazing restaurant Amazing service We had a lovely time at Meu Portugal celebrating my cousin's birthday! The staff were very attentive and friendly. The owner and the lady serving us made sure we were looked after made our evening fun and enjoyable. We loved the delicious food, traditional Portuguese food same as you would get in Portugal. We definitely recommend to everyone to go and visit you will not be disappointed Obrigado :)

I am so fussy with food and never like anything especially in restaurants.. but this place OMG!! It was one of the best food I have ever had, food is so fresh and delicious.. I had sea bass and it was one of the nicest fish I have ever had and all the other food was excellent.. the caprinia was amazing so fresh.. service was fabulous, friendly and professional.. not from Manchester but if I ever go again will have to return to this restaurant.. thank you for amazing experience

2nd Visit - Our second trip to this little gem of a Portuguese restaurant was as good as the first. We went during a much busier evening time and the service was still super friendly and attentive, the quality of the food didn't dip at all. 1st visit below - Very friendly and welcoming, attentive service, the Portuguese starters were delicious, especially the chicken gizzard and clams. Would not hesitate to return for another fantastic lunch. Obrigado!
