Excellent and very polite service. We were a party of four who ordered different dishes, we each enjoyed our choices. My prawn starter was in fact one the best I have eaten.

Lovely day service was a bit slow but food was lovely presented nice, bill was very reasonable had a nice afternoon would recommend.

Went for a nice Sunday roast with my family this Sunday and we all had a lovely time and was impressed by the food. I particularly loved the sticky toffee pudding. Staff were amazing particularly the young waitress with the long brown hair in a plat. She was very joyful and helpful, great customer service. Definitely would come again

Meal completely ruined by loud awful singing from the bar area - such a shame wouldn't go back on Friday nights Manager not helpful when we asked to turn the music down a so we could have a conversation with our family and friends.

Have been to this restaurant twice now ,once at night & this afternoon ,we sat outside with our dog ,foods great ,no complaints,the main waiter on the desk was very attentive ,all our food was good especially the Moroccan lamb which melts in the mouth

Food was good that's all I can say . Staff were keen a d friendly But the music coming from the bar area completely spoiled the atmosphere in the restaurant. Either way won't be going back the bill for 2 was£95 with a £9.50 service charge so I had that taken off the bill . Felt like I was sat in a club .

Wouldn't get the beef roast dinner again it was extremely tough and needed a steak knife to cut it. Me and the Mrs ended up leaving most of it. I love a rare steak but undercooked roast beef is just unpleasant. The rest of the roast was lovely though.

The store is owned by Giggs. It was delicious.

We had an amazing night at George’s. The drinks were amazing and the staff were just as good. Ethan especially was very attentive and made sure our night was enjoyable. A great atmosphere and would definitely recommend!

We visited George’s after having a stroll along the canal. We took our little dog and the lovely bar staff (Summer) brought him out some water. She advised us on which cocktail to order and was very knowledgable about the wine! we absolutely loved the outside space and when it happened to rain they promptly put out the canopy. All in all a very good experience and we will be returning thanks to Summer who is a credit to Georges!

Really a good place to have dinner. First of all, it must be said that a reservation is required because it also seems like a trendy place, so if you want to try the cuisine, you should call. A tidy, well-kept place with young and friendly staff, always ready to help you. The dishes are dynamic, balanced and of quality. The price matches the quality served! Advised!

Arrived 7.30pm after another restaurant had stopped food service at 7pm,sat near the back,nice and quiet,drinks and food bought quickly and not too hot,everything was delicious duck starter and chicken pate starter,pork fillet and lamb shank mains,mocktail was delicious so had 2,waitresses clean,friendly,attentive but not overbearing,a credit to Worsley. What we liked the most there was no loud music to drown out your conversation.

Met our friends here for our first visit and really enjoyed our Sunday Lunch. Food was excellent and service good. Great location just bby the canal, small car park so be prepared for a few minutes walk

Not been in years and wont again - we'd booked, wasn't friendliest of welcome off the large fella on front desk - about 3 tables occupied, slow service, drinks wrong, side dish wrong and cut of fillet for us both was stringy and fatty. Wasn't charged for either meals (approx. £35 per meal) & young waitress apologised - went home hungry and had a ham butty - dissapointing.

Had lunch here one day and found it a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Not the cheapest but great food and friendly and efficient service.

4 booked in for breakfast. Seated quickly then the wait began. 20 mins before they offered us any drinks another 20 mins before they took our food order after I complained then further wait for food to arrive. People who arrived after us were served before us. When I mentioned this to the man in charge he basically brushed me aside & said they were extremely busy. Well yes I could see that don’t accept bookings if you can’t cope!! Felt sorry for the young waiting staff as there weren’t enough of them. Food was ok so no complaints there, just service was awful!

We booked to eat on a Sunday afternoon. We read the trip advisor reviews which were mixed. So we took a chance. Unfortunately it as terrible. Despite being almost empty the servide was terrible. We waited for 10 mins and nobody approached us so we left. Sad thing is they insisted on a £20 deposit on booking! AVOID

A really lovely place to meet up with friends for drinks and food

Wasn’t a great first impression going in. Premises a little tired and could do with a refresh. One table had to move when it started raining due to a leak. Service was ok, a little hit and miss and probably under staffed. Cocktails were great and food was great which is why I rated it 4 star. Overall a mixed experience.

Great atmosphere and the staff and locals in there were very friendly. Also had live music on and he was very good 😊

Not what it once was. The food was very average/not amazing and service OK. I will not return in a rush. We did sit on the outside balcony and had to trapse down to the bar every time so maybe this affected our experience. You guys need to concentrate on all guests regardless of seating as we are all paying super high menu rates just the same. If we want mediocrity or worse there are a couple of Greene Kings nearby

Despite being busy and having no reservation we were promptly seated. The Sunday lunch was lovely both the beef and pork getting rave reviews from us.

First visit and waited over an hour for the food. No explanation or update through your the waiting time other than “will report back to manager” will not be going back or recommending.

Been coming to George’s for a while and have always enjoyed it and recommend to people but have to say after a visit this weekend it was disappointing the Sunday roast was definitely not the same.. edible but just nothing special. Also the sticky toffee pudding has gone which again was disappointing. Hope it returns to its best again soon! Would be a shame to see it go down further.

I’ve been going to George for many years and I’m disappointed to say it’s gone downhill significantly. The ambiance is still good and it is well located. But the food is not good at all - poor quality and badly cooked.

Visited Worsley with a friend for lunch. Knew we weren’t off to a great start when we were seating right next to a fire exit in the corner in a relatively empty restaurant. Order the prawns for starter as part of the two courses for £25, how disappointing. Completely tasteless, ate a whole piece of garlic to check whether it was just me but it was completely flavourless, my friend also had the prawns and said exactly the same. It was like they’d been left out from the day before, the oil they were in also had small bubbles in it like it had been watered down. The beef for the main course was lovely, however Yorkshire was way overdone and the roast potatoes looked anaemic. I asked a waitress for some horseradish and she didn’t acknowledge my request, but then brought it over and then put it down again without saying a word. I hope she’s ok. The saving grace was a glass of lovely New Zealand Sauvignon, however £3 for a pint of soda water is criminal. Really disappointed with our visit.

Waiting over an hour for 2 full English. When it came it was cold. We thought we'd try it again after 3 years, after a similar experience, and sad to say no better.

The service was poor and slow and there was no apology for or recognition of this. The butternut squash salad was not pleasant, I left most of it. The restaurant was cold. Really disappointing. On the other hand the summer spritz was tasty and the steak and ale pie was enjoyed. We will not be returning unfortunately

We booked Georges restaurant in Worsley for my 80th birthday for family and they gave us a room upstairs for 18 of us which was perfect . Emmanuel the manager was very accommodating to make everything right and the waiter Ben who looked after us all evening was fantastic, such a lovely polite young man. The food was very nice and served very well to suit our needs. And as a plus it was music night downstairs which we were able to hear and have a little dance 👍what’s not to like 👏👏👏

First time here after passing by often, thoroughly enjoyed everything for my mum's birthday, delicioius food, great value and very attentive staff - well done guys...

Dinner before theatre...Service fast znd very attentive

We went last year and everything was fantastic, good service and lovely food. We thought we would go again this year what a mistake. We booked for 1.00pm, got there early and had a drink at the bar. So far so good. We went through at 1.00pm told them we were there, now I think 15 minutes is OK to wait for afternoon tea, but 25 minutes later we were still waiting. So my husband went to complain and we waited another 10 minutes before it finally came. If it was busy I could understand, but there were 3 couples in the dining room. So we had the tea and cakes which once again was good quality, but we had finished and had to ask again for tea and coffee. We had to wait 20 minutes for that. So the food was great but the service Zero out of 10! Very disappointed.

Disappointed in service, mainly the manager. After booking online and not being informed it was a set menu, when I asked about my allergy I was made to feel like I was an inconvenience. Starter and main were really good but there was no dessert I could have. I was begrudgingly offered something they could ‘put together’, after saying no to that I was then ignored by the Manger, even when paying the bill Of which I paid full price for 3 courses I could’ve have.

Booked for an afternoon tea, following a hiccup with the booking, the chef provided an excellent impromptu afternoon tea. All the staff were really attentive and polite. Couldn't have asked for a better experience, even my fussy husband couldn't fault it. Will definitely be back.

We dined in on a Monday lunchtime so it was very quiet although still had a nice atmosphere for a quick lunch. The service was quick and polite, and the food was brought to our table quickly and just seeing the host approach with the food we could see it was quality, well presented. The food was hot, well presented and very tasty, exactly as described on the menu and exactly as expected. I had the cheeseburger which was large enough for a full evening meal, although one at lunchtime was just as satisfying 😃. We only had soft drinks being a Monday lunchtime although the drinks list did look quite appealing.

My wife and I love this place. Early bird menu is an absolute triumph! Top quality food for a very reasonable price.

Having visited Georges on many occasions we were extremely disappointed with the Christmas Day experience, whilst the staff were friendly and accommodating. The food was no better than you could cook at home, in fact it was poor and i would definitely not recommend someone visits Georges for a special occasion. I have contacted them to express my concern at the quality compared to the price charged and have had no response. Seems they aren't concerned with there customers and are more interested in charging as much as they can for poor quality food. I would also like to add that if you are a disabled person then access to this restaurant is extremely difficult with no wheelchair access unless you want to push the chair over cobbles or navigate steps.

Went for big family Christmas Day meal... lovely venue & very popular... Booked 3-Course Christmas Meal at £105 per head (before adding drinks; so about £1k spent including drinks, less deposit £50 per head)... Great family occasion, food good & service ok for a busy day... Only thing missing (which we realised afterwards) was restaurant not giving anyone our glasses of fizz meant to receive before the meal... Would have marked 4 out of 5, but cannot give 'very good' rating if missed serving whole party part of menu... had to score 3 out of 5 (if was option would rate 3.5 out of 5)... Yes, guess partly our error for not realising not served glasses of fizz but everyone was simply enjoying occasion plus really down to staff to ensure serve what paid for... Will continue to go to George's as issue hopefully is one-off & usually very good to eat there.

Visited with my family for a festive meal treat I ordered the pork it was so salty I couldn’t eat it and the sprouts were very hard I couldn’t cut them. Returned the food and was brought the turkey instead but still not happy the turkey was thick and dry with the worst vegetables some too soft some undercooked. Staff are friendly and helpful I could not fault the warm welcome and swift service. But the food was not the George standard I have come to expect at this restaurant. Portion size with starters and mains is definitely an issue. I did get a reduction on my bill due to the meal being returned which I thought was fair. Sadly I will not be in a rush to return.

Booked October 4th for Sunday 24th December 2023; YES Christmas Eve. My wife and I arrived and shown to our table, the menu on the table was the Sunday dinner menu. We said it was Christmas Eve and expected the Festive menu which should have been available up to the 24th. We were abruptly advised that it was Sunday and the Sunday Menu was the only one. Good job it wasn't Wednesday we would have been forced to have the Wednesday menu. Very disappointed because we had studied the festive menu earlier and was expecting to have the pork main and crumble desert. This ruined our Christmas Eve, we only had one course got the bill; which had the dreaded 10 % service charge ,I don't recall seeing on the menu. Use to like Georges BUT will be a long time before we go again.

Went here for a Xmas lunch with one other person. Ordered off the ‘two courses £22.95’ menu. Prawn cocktail. 5 prawns. A bit of lettuce a few small tomatoes, sauce. Tasty but tiny portion.. we ordered Turkey roast and the fish dish. No gravy with the small roast. The fish dish was tiny. Another small portion. No water, although there was water glasses on the table. None was offered. Very very little choice for pescatarians or vegetarians. Which is unbelievable in this day and age. Xmas crackers put out on all the tables as we sat there but not ours. The bill came and was wrong not the ‘2 courses’ menu. Thankfully we checked it. Complained and it was corrected with NO apology. Did not think they deserved the ‘service’ charge. My friend who had the fish was still hungry after her meal. Have been a few times before. Won’t be returning.

Full marks for the best Christmas dinner from a commercial kitchen I have ever had. Beautifully presented, succulent and reasonably priced. Well done to the kitchen team and hospitality staff. But don’t even try and park in the teeny tiny car park, plenty of other options nearby.

Premises cold, we sat on ground floor no heating. Wasn't busy but felt left without service/ attention. Only asked about drinks when came to take food order.

Hit & Miss, AVOID We popped in on a Saturday evening, early doors, 7’ish for a drink before moving elsewhere. In the first instance the bar area was cold, so we moved to another area, equally chilly, so we moved upstairs, only to be followed by a rather rude woman, who did not announce who she was, but swiftly advised us we had to move, we weren’t allowed upstairs. We finished our drinks and left, never ever to return. What might have been a preferred approach would have been to say, “sorry, this area is closed, but let me help you with your drinks and we’ll find you a warm spot downstairs”, where I’d hasten to add we then spotted two other couples we knew and would have stayed and spent more money (I believe that’s why the business exists) however, the poor service, aggressive attitude and, we care little hour our revenue stream, has lost them our future patronage, that’s two couples who eat regularly at George’s, hence my ability to suggest it’s “hit & miss”, and of course, when we’re at Amans, in The Woodside and elsewhere, we’ll be sure to share our poor experience and suggest Albert’s or the new place soon to open in Boothstown. Suggestion. Train your staff, value your clients and appreciate bad news travels far faster than good. You’ll never see me, my family or associates again.

Booked for parters birthday. Family of 8. Had high hopes as reviews were good but unfortunately service let it down. Only got offered drinks once at the beginning and even then had to chase a drink they left off twice. Asked a question about gluten free and the lad said he would go and ask but never returned so I had to get up and ask someone else. Had to get up and ask for another drink and also had to flag someone down to bring the bill after sitting around for over 10 minutes with empty plates and empty glasses. No one asked how the meal was, no one asked if we needed anymore drinks after our first ones. And after the bill came someone eventually came and dropped a desert menu on the table. The restaurant wasn’t very busy and there were plenty of staff walking around chatting and always walking past the table getting a good glance of themselves in the mirror above us but not actually acknowledge us or our table. Disappointing. Hats off to the chefs tho, the food was nice.

Lovely brunch. Cost around £12 per person for a full breakfast. Drinks on top. Service would have been 5 if the waitress would have asked if we needed any sauces etc. We had to get their attention and food was half eaten before the sauce arrived! Lovely setting. Picture of vegetarian breakfast.

On 19/11/2023 we came for a reception at the George's Dining Room & Bar, upon arriving we were giving a waiter named BEN. God !!, he made the day less stressful as I was nervous about how the reception the quality of the service. Ben Professionalism, positive approach, God’s sake patience helped make the day feel enjoyable. I would certainly come back to this place and hope he will be there in a higher position/role as I believe he is the type of employee a successful organisation will want to keep. Thank you for making the whole experience enjoyable during this time.

Delicious food, cannot fault it at all. Shame that all the staff were miserable and service was really slow. Had to ask for table water 3 times and it eventually came after an hour of being there! Had to ask for the bill twice and the girl just eye rolled at us. Would definitely recommend based on the lovely breakfast we had but that’s all.

6 adults for breakfast 10am food fantastic, staff hopeless this morning,3 times asked for water never came 2 times asked for butter for toast never came until we went to the manager,ordered a pot of tea and it arrived in a fancy old fashioned afternoon tea pot and china cup,then to cap it all we had paid £80 deposit which was forgot about good job we remembered so to re cap great food shocking service

It was a rainy day, we were sightseeing in Worsley and stepped in for some tea. It looks like a historic property and was very charming. A friendly young lady brought us a nice big pot of tea and a snack. Very nice service in a quiet setting. Just what we needed to warm up and reflect on our day. I would defiantly return for lunch or dinner if I was in the area again.

We dropped by George's for a late breakfast after a tiring 13 hour flight into Manchester. The food was good, the service was excellent - special shout out to Benn who handled our order and even allowed our 6yo to hot spot from his personal mobile phone.

Magnificent food, great service for the food, unfortunately the bar service was not as good as the rest of the restaurant.

Had a meal here last night and really disappointed. Have eaten here quite a few times and always had a good experience. Chose the pork and it was extremely underdone. Manager and chefs categorically disagreed, apparently it's always served pink (to the three of us dining it almost looked raw and had to leave it). My friend had the same dish and hers was significantly more well done and actually edible. The manager acknowledged 'lots of people complain about the pink pork' which made me feel I was being awkward. I was offered an alternative dish or the same again but instead had a desert and was knocked off the bill. It did however spoil the experience and feel it could have been dealt with in a much quicker and less awkward way. Tried to catch the attention of the manager on leaving to say goodbye and were ignored!! I will not be choosing to come back to George's for the foreseeable

If you want to eat in less than 3 hours of seating - go elsewhere. We booked for 4.30 and arrived a few minutes early but were seated straight away. Only the 4 of us in the whole place. My mother in law,myself,daughter and granddaughter. Drinks orders were taken, arrived after about 20 minutes. Another 20 minutes passed and food order taken. We all ordered from early bird menu. Then the wait began. 40 minutes later our starters arrived. Mains were another hour. Only 2 desserts ordered but again a looooooong wait!!! By this time almost 7pm my granddaughter is tired - she is 9 and knows how to behave in restaurants. Another table of 6 had arrived so hardly busy... I requested the bill and again another very long wait. Eventually I went to the til and asked to pay the bill. It included a 10% service charge. Normally I'm happy to pay but due to the lack of good service I asked for it to be removed from the bill. Then I got the "attitude" from the manager. No apology, slammed down the new bill, tutting. I politely explained my reasoning and he ignored me. The food was "ok" but not a great variety on the menu and portions very small. This used to be our favourite restaurant but after this experience won't be returning which is a shame. Ryan - you need to sort out your business, we locals have supported you so don't let us down now

They discounted the bill by 20% but the whole evening was just terrible. It's a shame because the food was actually pretty good. But the general running of the place is terrible. Would not recommend

What a disaster. Went to George’s for my son’s 40th Birthday with family, 11 of us including my 3 1/2 year old grandson. Booked for 5.00pm, didn’t get to our table until, 5.30pm, didn’t take our order for the meal until 6.00pm. Grandson getting very fractious and tired. By 7 .00 pm some of us had had starters. Daughter in law had to take grandson home without eating anything. When we complained, they said the mains were ready and they had to see to 26 people upstairs. Not our problem, shouldn’t have taken all these orders if they couldn’t cover them. 20 minutes later still had not had our main course. After half an hour more they finally arrived. By 8.00pm we had had enough and got the bill and went without having desert. They tried to placate us by giving us a glass of Prosecco each and knocking 20% off the bill and not charging for babies and daughter in laws meals. But the evening had already been ruined. Will never go there again. Also had two glasses of wine which were warm had to add ice to cool it down which also watered it down. Couldn’t organise the proverbial in a brewery.

I brought my mum here recently as a treat. I'm happy to say it was a really positive experience. The food was fantastic all around, especially the dessert. The sticky toffee pudding was amazing. I'd also say it's reasonably priced so that's always a plus. Will definitely be visiting again.

We called in for brunch with friends and had a lovely time. Pleasant staff, nice touches to our dining experience and not too expensive. All round good food. Nicer tables to be had upstairs overlooking the canal. Piped music a little too loud though

We went on a Friday night when George's was properly bustling. This did not, however, affect the quality of the service, which was attentive and prompt. The menu is not that extensive, but the food on offer was tempting and exciting. When it arrived, it was excellent (we had mains and desserts). And even one of their cheaper bottles of wine was really good. Thoroughly recommended.

Visited George's for our 21st wedding anniversary and so glad we did. The staff were fantastic and looked after us superbly...and the food was gorgeous. Highly recommend the king prwns from the light bites menue as a starter!

We called in for lunch ordered from the special lunch menu. The minted pea risotto was more like cheap mushy peas from the local chip shop the pork loin had to be cut with a steak knife it was that tough and dry this has been the worst meal I have had at this restaurant and I have been several times it was that bad I had to write a review there was no staff and the kitchen staff spent more time outside talking to friends than looking after the kitchen orders I finally asked the staff to cancel the desert as 2 1/2 hours still waiting became too long to wait. I would not refer my friends and family to George’s for lunch evening might be different

Absolutely could not be faulted. Thoroughly enjoyed every course. Especially the steak and ale pie, with exceptional pastry & the white chocolate and cardamom tart, which was well balanced in flavour and very, very moreish.

I always thought this place was a bit pretentious, but after this visit I have say this was not the case ,not serving a fill English on a sunday is a little bit of a let down otherwise it's a nice place

Wasn't impressed with the very average tasting food and small amount of fish on my plate. Not value for money and wo t be going back

Food nice. Service very slow but very friendly, we werent over fussed bout that. If on time schedule though!!!!

Excellent. Went there for Sunday Lunch. Although the menu we got is not the same as that shown on the website. Efficient friendly service. From the Sunday lunch menu I had the chicken dish starter with pomegranates. Nice. Although I'm not a veggie I had the nut roast which was yummy and different. For pudding, I had the sticky toffee pudding, which was out of this world 😀 Recommended.

Had brunch there. Lovely restaurant. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
