Grill 66 Fusion in Colchester

Waste of money. Very disappointed. Will never recommend to anyone. How can they serve a chewy meat to customers? Meat didn't seem fresh. Biriyani vegetable curry, naan and grilled meat all were terrible.

We had a table booked in advance as we were a group of 11. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to us, we all had lovely starters, followed by fantastic mains both with a fairly short wait. The portions were large and very good value for money. We had a fantastic evening and will hopefully be back soon for another visit.

Tryed this place by recommendation, thought it was a bit expensive ! , But only a little But Well Worth it , owener is a great guy , all ways well on time An the food is just amazing, The only takeaway I ever order now , Treat yourself to some lovely food.... Marcus.

Seems to be the only place in Colchester that you can order Indian food, fish & chips and steak. Take out only at the moment. Collected meal for five and the meal was excellent. Cooked the steak while I waited so it was top draw, the naga chicken was also excellent, nice and spicy just as it should be.

Ordered early in the hope it would be on time, but still late. Food was, at best, ok. Had a lot better and definitely wont be ordering here again...

Took my family for a dine in expecting a high standard given some of the reviews but to my surprise the whole experience was utterly negative. First of all the place is not clean at all which makes me want to see the kitchen hidden behind a closed door! We were handed a menu which had sauce stain all over it, flies in the air, rock hard burger, under cocked ribs to name a few of the alarm bells. The irony is that they charge you a premium as if you are dining in 5 star restaurant. Not recommended at all.

First when we were seated we had the menus and two of them were so dirty. I had to ask for another ones. The food was not good at all. My burger, which is the fusion one made out of a mix of flour and meat and probably eggs as it was so hard. It did not feel like burger at all. The ribs were not great either as they were made of cheap quality meat. The whole experience was not pleasant as of hygiene, food quality, and also the price. I will never be back and I will advise friends not to try.

OMG that was IMMENSE! Taking delivery/takeaway food to a whole new level. Ordered on a recommendation from my colleagues at Colchester Hospital and boy what a recommendation... The food was so tasty and left me wanting more. Don’t change a thing!

We visited here recently for a friend’s birthday celebration. Several of my friends have visited before and given the place rave reviews - I can now see why! The menu is half steak and grill house and half Indian/Bangladeshi cuisine, and our party opted for dishes off both sections. The food was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection, with the right level of spice for those of us (like myself) who liked their food hot and those of us who didn’t! The staff were friendly and attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. I’ll definitely be visiting again.

On a rainy Monday evening, it was tempting to order in a takeaway but we decided to give this local place a try based on excellent reviews. We weren’t disappointed. Service was friendly and helpful and the food was really lovely and fresh. We accompanied our curries with a Fusion Salad and everything was delicious. They also serve Kingfisher beer which is a bonus. We’ll spread the word and we’ll be back!

Our First time at this restaurant . Purely by chance and the help of google we came across this restaurant on the main road . The food was first class and the service excellent, very big portions , freshly cooked and piping hot . We never felt pressured into finishing our meal we also got a nice surprise at the end . We will certainly be back Thank you 😃👍🏽

First time having a curry here and it was delicious, as are their steaks. Great place for group meals and lovely staff

Went there the other night for our Christmas get together. First impression when we walked in was a cold reception, although we had booked a table it still seemed to take a while to show us to our table, Then it seemed to take ages for them to take our order despite us trying to get the waiters. When the starter arrive the waitress never had a clue what was what. Twice she gave me the wrong starter although I said I had ordered ribs one of our party never got their starter until the rest of had finished. Must say the starter was very nice. We waited an hour and 50minutes for our main. The waitress did not no what meal was what she had to call the waiter over to serve up the mains. My T bone was the thinnest I’ve ever seen 4 times I had to ask for mustard. The meal was awful I sent it back so did one of the others who had sirloin. It tasted of nothing the 3 mushrooms were full of water and cold the chips despite being very brown on the outside were not cooked properly on the inside. At it seemed the same for my mate. The others had mixed reaction to there meal some saying there side dishes were cold. But they did say that the curry was very nice. When we got the bill they had the cheek to put a service charge on it after a long conversation they took of the steak meals and service charge of. Overall it was a very bad experience and needless to say no of us would ever go back.

Came here for my birthday. Just me and my partner. We couldn’t believe the food! We had the lamb ribs and it was the best lamb I have ever had. Fell off the bone, beautiful flavour. Great value for money. Will be coming back here all the time. Staff are lovely! And the owner was lovely as well! Make sure you go! It’s well worth it!

Not a lot I can say really. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel at home. Small in size but a giant in service this restaurant offers the best Indian food I have ever tasted, equalling and in a lot of cases beating the best that Bradford can offer. Next time we are in Colchester we will certainly be booking a table here.

Have been here a few times now and great quality and service every time. The staff are friendly and food is excellent. Will be going back again.

Stopped in as we had driven past a few times and wanted to try.. the starters were very good and the service was super friendly. It was Wednesday about 6.30pm and we were the only customers so service was quick and attentive.

We had a really delicious home delivery Indian meal last night delivered by a friendly courier. I ordered one portion of Korma and rice for my son and me and it was more than enough for the two of us with poppadoms and naan bread. We had another meal from it for lunch today! The food looked and tasted authentic and I will definitely be ordering from here again. Thank you

excellent food and friendly staff. medu is a mix between indian and seternt. it is a stake house with a twist. All the meats are Guaranteed fresh and halal.

Had a voucher which I booked with on the phone, turned up they refused to honour it as they stopped doing the vouchers, I had told them the man on the phone said he would honour it because we had purchased it and booked before they stopped doing them, the man swore at me and my partner and continued to try and argue with us. We left straight away will never be going back wasted a train journey also to be treated so disgustingly.

We visited for first time. Have driven past so many times but never eaten inside. Food was excellent. Freshly cooked, large servings and beautiful naans. Good friendly service and decor whilst basic perfectly comfortable. I have waited a long time to rate an Indian restaurant in Colchester and this is by far superior to all others. Go there - you won’t be disappointed

Group of three lads visited last week. It’s easy to be stereotypical over us. But they were far from that. Brought our own beers in and even gave us glasses and poured it for us. Service was faultless , our waiter was very chatty and helpful and steaks were amazing. Will definitely be returning

What a joy it was to take my wife (who does not like indian food) to a restaurant that serves Indian & English. We went on a Groupon deal which was terrific value. Pappadums (which my wife loves) with dips as appetisers, Sheekh Kebabs & grilled ribs & butterfly prawns as starters followed by 4 perfect steaks, all cooked exactly as we'd ordered and served with glorious chips. Highlighted by a delicious Mint & Lime Mojito. Taking your own drinks was also a bonus.Will defo go back and try the Bangladeshi curries as well.

Came here at lunchtime one Sunday - we were the only ones in, until another couple appeared around 2pm.. that kind of painted a picture. Sadly the ingredients didn't seem very good and the food was, at best sub-standard. Will definitely not be returning and going on the lack of customers I'm quite shocked at the good reviews?

This may be a highly unpopular opinion but this place does better steaks then bellapais. I ordered a fillet steak and it was probably the best fillet I have ever had, For starters I would highly recommend the hummus and pitta bread it is amazing. I very much like the fact that you can bring your own alcoholic drinks as it saves a few quid. I have been twice and will definitely be going again.

Overcharged on 6 drinks totalling an extra 5.00, £3.00 service charge added and not informed prior, added extra £1 for requesting peas on a child menu, no itemised receipt provided by till and kept my original card payment receipt when challenged.

Saturday night out at grill 66 nice warm welcome pleasant staff they have parking for around ten cars, the menu is very varied from steak to Indian food we all had starters and enjoyed, there was four of us and we all decided on steaks all had something different fillet, sir loin, T bone, all cooked perfectly the sauces were absolutely delicious chips cooked just right, they do serve soft drinks but if you want alcohol you can take your own and they will supply glasses.

Visited on a Friday night as 4 couples. We’d all got separate Groupon deals, but phoned ahead to ask if we could all sit together, and they happily accommodated. Fairly good variety of starters, and the steaks that we all choose for mains were delicious and cooked exactly as requested. Some of our group had peppercorn or other sauces, but equally using the Indian dips (lime pickle, mango chutney, mint raita etc) was a nice new way to enjoy a steak. At the price we were cynical about what quality of meat we’d get, but it was great. Interesting to Asian offerings on same menu as steaks, we’ll definitely try some of those next time.

We dined with friends using a groupon voucher on Friday evening. The staff were very friendly and courteous. Food was freshly cooked and delicious ......we will be returning!

Visited this restaurant last Saturday with some friends who live in Colchester. The restaurant was very nice indeed with a very relaxed atmosphere. Staff were very attentive and the food was so good. I ordered humous for starter which came with a naan bread. Have to say both were so good. Next came the fillet steak which has to be one of the best steaks I’ve had in a long while. It was well seasoned and no fat to trim off at all. It was cooked well and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Restaurant has it’s own parking directly outside and also a pool table inside which was a nice touch. Will definitely be returning again soon.

Bought an offer on groupon for a two course meal. The restaurant doesn’t sell alcohol but you can bring your own along and they will give you glasses and ice. The staff are really friendly and welcoming. We ordered poppadoms as an extra and they were really nice and came with sauce ls and onion salad. The fillet steaks were fantastic probably one of the best I’ve ever had and the starts all really nice. There is also parking spaces right outside which was handy as it was raining.

Came for an evening meal with my boyfriend as have been told it was good by friends. We had steaks, they were cooked to perfection and great quality. I love the fact it's an Indian too, so you can have poppadums and dip of you want aswell. I love them!!Haha! The 2 people working were very welcoming and helpful and the service was great. We will defiently be back with a few friends soon. Great job guys! See you soon! X

I booked this restaurant recently over the xmas period via Groupon in all fairness the food was ok we both had the fillet steak as this was the deal offered but the place itself did offer a wide choice of Indian food the only drawback for some is the restaurant doesn't serve alcohol although I believe you can bring your own.

Celebrated my 30th here and was not disappointed! The food was incredible and the portions were very filling. Service was great and all the staff were friendly and smiling. We will definitely be returning!

Great food, great choice, lovely and fresh. Something for everyone. Don't forget to take your own alcohol, no corkage charge. We will definitely be back. Mouth is watering now at the thought. Glasses supplied.

This restaurant is a 10 minute walk from our house and we have heard great things about it so decided to try it out on New Years eve. So glad we did. An interesting mix of grill and Indian cuisine but no drinks license. You are welcome to bring your own alcohol if you wish and there is no corkage charge. Both of us had the sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce and fries/sweet potato fries with the fusion salad. Both steaks were cooked fresh to our requirements so you do have to wait a little but so worth it. The steaks were amazing especially with the spicy fusion salad! Standard deserts but the pistachio Kulfi was delicious and a very nice (large) cup of coffee to finish. Heartily recommend this restaurant and will be trying their take away service very soon. People you must try this place!

An interesting Fusion restaurant & overall enjoyed the meal & experience. The owner was friendly & helpful. Clearly passionate about his restaurant & food. We were dry & enjoyed the mango lassi but other diners were enjoying the BYO aspect & drinking their own booze of choice. For starters we had humus with naan bread & lamb chops from the tandoor. Both were excellent. For mains we had the house special mutton curry & lamb tikka masala with spinach & potatoes & special fried rice. Very enjoyable & the lamb was very tender & melted in the mouth. Will definitely be back soon.

We visited here first time in dec 2018 . Food is great fantastic . Various curries and a mix of lamb chops chicken wings and steaks too. The chefs are great . You take your own alcohol . Staff bit slow at times but owners very professional . Needs some background music too

Excellent service by friendly waiter, felt very relaxed and comfortable. Both kebab and steak were extremely well and delicious. Would highly recommend to anyone that enjoys grill in Colchester at Grill 66 Fusion.

I absolutly loved my Grill 66 Fusion burger, it was the right tenderness. An had the right spices It was exquisite and soo tasty. My family had a few different things and said it was beautifully cooked and presented. It was very clean and tidy, and the customer service was excellent

We visited last night and are so glad we did. A great mix of Bangladeshi and steakhouse cuisine, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Had a family meal here. Piri piri chicken wings for starter. Excellent flavour and large size too. We had three steaks - lamb, Sirloin and Rib eye. All cooked to perfection, no need for sauces. The flavour of the meat really comes through. The chips are chunky chips. Well cooked, again full of flavour no dryness to these at all. The portion sizes are large, very filling. Nice atmosphere here. No alcohol which is not a bad thing. Parking is not an issue. There are signs clearly marking out the do' s and don'ts like many car parks now.

Not expensive, clean, very friendly staff, more than satisfied with 25pounds for 2 people. Moreover, the meat was spiced and tasty.

We decided at the last minute to go out to dinner and knowing how great the food has been on previous visits we booked Grill 66 with no fuss. As usual the mixtures of cuisines meant we could both have exactly what we like. All the food is cooked fresh and well worth the little extra wait. Brought our own wine as they don’t serve alcohol which doesn’t present a problem. Can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough. Go on you’ll really enjoy the food with a friendly atmosphere

Food here was superb (especially the Naan), reasonably priced and large portions. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

I haven’t actually eaten here by stopped in the car park to look for a couple of minutes: walked around to the front to see their menu. Low and behold someone snuck from the back took a picture of my car and now I have received a fine. Considering I was going to actually give it a go for our next meal I won’t bother if the owners are so desperate for money that they are happy to rip of potential customers like this. Never going to eat there or recommend it unless you want to pay a car parking fine for the privilege

All I can say is what a brilliant concept this is. Absolutely delicious steak, have to have the Desi rub! Interesting menu and the daal served with the biryani was so much better than the boring vegetable side curries served up in most restaurants. And the Fusion salad - I just cannot explain how good that combination is - all I can suggest is go and try it yourself!! Service was excellent. Great dining experience and certainly superb value for money.

Had a meal tonight at Grill 66 with a few friends. All the food was delicious and piping hot. Nice varied menu and we all enjoyed our choices. No alcohol is available so you must take your own - no problem as there is an off-licence close by. Friendly and attentive staff. All in all a really good evening and highly recommended.

This is a great place to go with the family, great atmosphere, staff are helpful, polite and friendly. The food was delicious and the portions are big. Highly recommend. Thanks guys kids loved the places

We had a fabulous meal here, the food portions were very generous, we struggled to finish our meal. The streak was cooked to perfection and the curry tasted home cooked with succulent and tender Mutton. All the staff were very attentive, pleasant and friendly, cant recommend this place enough.

Went here yesterday for my son's birthday. The decor is very funky, modern with comfy large booths and tables.

Popped here for a meal and had a lovely curry freshly cooked by 'Bob' very tasty and looked and smelt wonderful, restaurant is a little cold at times and not great that they don't serve alcohol , but food is superb and staff are always extremely friendly

New restaurant in the local area - I had the shank curry very very nice and my partner had seas bass and my kids had burgers but there is also some nice starters aswell.
