Just had regular size fish and chips and couldn't believe the price. When eating it was the moist greasiest fish I have ever had, you could squeeze the grease out. Chips were warm and dry. Fish needs to be cooked and then drained before serving, but they cook to order so this is not done.

Had a pensioners portion of Cod and chips bread a tea for £11:99 not a bad size portion for the price very friendly place to eat pristine clean and food cooed to order so really fresh didn't ha e to wait for a table 😀

Really enjoyed the fish and chips here after a long day out on the Broads. Sumptuous portions and very tasty indeed. One of my favourite chippies in the UK. Super table service too from a very kind team.

Young girl served us very polite in seating us, when the food turned up it looked beautiful, golden batter, I had plaice, my Mrs had cod, it was the best fish I've tasted spoke to the chef and told him personally. It's a little more expensive eating in but when the food is good I don't mind very well worth a visit.

The food was standard, chips were ok but weren’t the best I’ve ever had. If the bill had been £10 cheaper my review would have been different because the staff were pleasant and friendly and the service prompt. But unfortunately overpriced.

The visitors from Lincoln really loved the rock eel and the pleasant service was much appreciated.

Greeted very warmly by a team member. We had Cod/chips and plaice/chips. Not forgetting the curry sauce.Food was very quick and portions were huge.

Lovely evening so went to wroxham so we could sit by the river.both had large sausage and chips.Freshly cooked and very tasty didn't sit inside but all looked very clean and nice decor.Would have food there again

Nice food, but grumpy staff. If you don’t like the public that much, don’t choose a job that involves interacting with them. I prefer Ken’s (opposite) but when I do have to go to Greys I feel like they have taken my joy as well as my money.

Fish was lovely , however it was so thin and small , for £8.50 I’d expected bigger . Curry sauce very watery . Chips were nice . Not sure id use again now due to how small the fish was .

Had lunch here today. My wife and I had the seniors special, cod and chips, mushy peas, bread and butter and a pot of tea. Really can’t find fault with anything: fish fresh and well cooked, chips more than enough and cooked fresh. Decor what I would expect for a traditional fish and chip shop. Price reasonable, especially when you see the price of everything else around you going through the roof! We drove 40 minutes to visit Wroxham and lunch was th3 highlight of the trip.

Lovely tasting chips. Plenty of them and a good price. Thought they would have been called 'Roys' chips, everything else nearby is called 'Roys' - there is a good reason if you Google why.

Very disappointing considering the cost. Cod and batter was good but the chips and mushy peas were barely warm. Chips were particularly unpleasant and chewy. Restaurant was grubby and soulless and needs redecorating. The floor needs sorting out. Every time someone walked past we literally bounced in our chairs. Staff were friendly enough. We won't be back though. It was very poor value.

Overpriced and Haddock had a bad taste, chips, just about acceptable with a lot of vinegar, I will never go back!

Greys are the best Chip shop in the area of North Norfolk. The standards are high and people travel to get fed, (we are from Essex) and it is a regular stop on the way through to our destination. The staff are always friendly and they are dog friendly. Food is delicious and freshly cooked. Thoroughly recommended.

Picked up two large cod with chips, a rock salmon with chips and a portion of mushy peas. The best fish and chips we have had in years!

After going on the broads we had a lovely chippy outside watching the boats For lunchtime one large portion with a sausage was enough for two people

Food was delicious, large cod and the regular cod were similar size. Very pricy for what you usually pay for some fish & chips, we were served fast and didn’t have to wait long for our order.

Rude young member of staff who threw down the chips on counter losing many chips from the chip butty which already had the smallest amount of chips of ever for a chip butty....wasnt value for money was still hungry so went across the road for another chip butty which was a little bit more expensive but got double the amount of chips so was well worth it.

What can I say compared to Ken's fish and chips Grey's wipe the floor with them. The fish was that fresh I wasn't sure whether it had just been caught and the chips were beautifully nice and crisp and not swimming in grease as you get elsewhere . And yes I am local and I know I don't have fish and chips too often but for quality it can't be beat in the village 5 star

So when I walked Into the seating area, I was greeted with a really clean area, found a seat and went and ordered the cod and chips, a lovely lady took my order. In no time at all our meal was delivered, oh my god what a portion. Now let's talk about the food, best thing I can say is it was amazing, some of the best fish and chips I've sampled. I can not recommend this place enough, get yourself down here, you will not be disappointed 5⭐️

Spot on. Nice service and reasonable price for a holiday venue area. And th food, well, those were some of the best chips I've had in ages. Better than Aldborough so that's putting you chaps high up there. Portion of chips £3. Enough to share between two as long as your not greedy. Bravo

This is usually our go-to place on the way home from a trip to the beach, however yesterdays visit was a disappointment. The portions are half the size that they once were, this includes both the chips and the fish! Usually the fish (cod) fills the length of the takeaway box however this time it was half the size with the batter flat and greasy. Peas and curry sauce are now served in little pots rather that poured over the food - probably to try and disguise the portion size change. We ordered a regular chips, fish, peas and curry x2 and a single can of fanta for £29.70. I honestly don't mind paying this if the food is good quality, tasty and you get a decent portion - this was definitely not the case at yesterdays visit.

Lovely place located close to the river, all food fresh and hot delicious highly recommend and for the money very good value. First time visiting but definitely not my last. Great portion sizes too 😀

The fish and chips we had were cooked to perfection; portions were large enough that I had to leave more than half my chips in favour of finishing my fish. Staff were lovely and just the right amount of attentive. The atmosphere wasn’t too loud and fairly calm. Excellent; just what we needed after a day of being a tourist.

The special at Grey's, seafood basket is very disappointing. Tiny portion, only got few small bits of battered seafood with chips. Seafood 'basket' is miss leading. Definitely not worth £14. Is a rip off init?

I live local in Wroxham, I’ve used all the take aways in the village. I’ve only recently decided to try Greys but can honestly say their chips are the best in my opinion and my wife too. They have a take away service and a sit in restaurant. It’s located on the right as you cross over the road/river bridge from Wroxham into Hoveton. There is an outside seating area adjacent and next to the river but not exclusively to Greys. Is anyone can use it. Give it a try I don’t think you will be disappointed.

A piece of cod the size of a whale. But super tasting with lovely crispy batter made this one I look forward to eating at again.

Paid £8.50 for the smallest portion of chips i've ever seen and a fish they'd obviously won at a fairground. If you work hard for your money as we all do, i'd strongly advise you to spend it elsewhere.

The guy cooking could do with learning customer communication. Shouted at people in the shop, we all stepped outside wondering what side of the bed he got out of. The chips were pretty dismal too, the kids said the fish wasn't very nice either. All in all, I wouldn't bother again.

Stopped off after visiting bewilderwood norfolk for a bite to eat and found this little town called Hoveton&Wroxham. Parked up and walked along the bridge and found Grays fish and chip shop. Decided to eat in as those sneaky seagulls were flying around keeping an eye out on everyone's food if you were brave enough to sit outside by the water. Walked in and sat down straight away, staff very friendly and polite, ordered food which didn't take to long. We ordered kids nuggets and chips, kids cod ad chips, 1/4 chicken and chips, board special seafood dish . Came out after 10-15mins and then there was silence . My family tucked in and enjoyed there fresh, tasty food. 5 * well worth the visit for a bite to eat.

This was supposed to be 2 portions of cod roe and chips. When questioned, they were apparently "Stuck together" Also, portion sizes are tiny, I've seen bigger children's portions. Chips were tasty though.

Regular portion of chips £2.00 and a battered sausage £2.50 cooked well and served very quickly no complaints here as a tourist town you always expect to pay more but this was quite reasonable 😀 😉 👌

Freshly cooked cod & chips off "pensioner " option. Would have had to leave otherwise.My local chippy in Manchester earns so many customers from a "smaller portion" for anyone. This reduces waste and encourages more people and children who don't need to feel stuffed and have healthy portions. Big is not good. The queue in my home chippy is now mainly people ordering the smaller option.

£30 for haddock and chips and Rock and chips, 1 cup of coffee and 1 cup of tea! My piece of rock was 3” long and cost me £11.95 with chips! Never going there again. Why did they not check with me before they cooked, I would of ordered something else. Kids portion of fish what a joke!

It's OK, service is swift. Batter is wet and chips slightly underdone for my liking. Portion size is small. But everything fresh and of decent quality.

Very happy with the food I received from Greys. Lovely crispy batter and fish was cooked perfectly. Quickest service out of all the chip shops in wroxham!

Terrible service, very unhelpful staff. Was refused when asked if you could try a taster ahich given the times i can understand, however the icecream we received (in a flavour we always purchase) was bitty and powdery to the point where it made us cough, when we explained to the women she rudely replied with “not sure what you want me to about it? it’s nearly all gone and no one else has complained?” We had spent over £15! Very rude, very unhelpful and simply a shame that we wont be returning! As locals we always take the children there for ice cream bur after todays service we wont be returning!

tonight at 6.15 pm 10 may we asked for white plaice and chips twice ,i asked them when i collected if it was white plaice they said yes but got it home it was black , the batter was under cooked the fish was very watery worst fish we've had from there it was'nt even busy (not happy) should of went to Kens, not really worth one star but wont let me post

Sit down meal - Not a very varied menu, chips not served without other items and quite pricey. Staff friendly which is nice but I think we should have realised why it was quiet on a busy weekday in the Easter holidays

I just got two kids chip cones £1.75 each and then curry sauce at £1.80!!! The sauce was more than the chips! What an absolute rip off. The portion was tiny and also in a styrofoam cone instead of paper. The staff where rude and rushed me out.

Me and my 4 friends went here for a sit down meal one night. They had a takeaway menu and a sit down menu. My 4 friends all ordered something on the sit down menu, I asked for a just a chip butty as I wasn’t that hungry. Because the chip butty wasn’t on the sit down menu they wouldn’t let me order it, as we was sitting inside.. After pleading with the lady for a good minute or so she still wouldn’t allow it. I didn’t want anything other than a chip butty. I didn’t want to kick up a fuss or mess my friends about going somewhere else. So I ordered my chipbutty and was made to eat it outside on my own. I’ve never been so embarrassed. Disgraceful customer service. Won’t be going there again.
