Grey Dove Village Cafe in Reigate and Banstead

Went in with our grandchildren today. Looking forward to having a nice sandwich and some drinks. We had two milkshakes and a latte which were all fine. The problem started with the sandwich. You are offered on the menu sandwich which is shown as cold. The Panini’s are shown as hot. My wife ordered sandwiches, expecting a cold chicken sandwich which we knew the children would eat. After several minutes, the very hot Panini turned up. We were bemused because we had ordered a sandwich. When I took it back to complain, a debate started, and the girl who are taken the order insisted that my wife had ordered a Panini. She would never order a Panini because she doesn’t even like them. We were offered some fries at no extra expense but declined. Not very impressed really..

Although a nice cafe there were no vegan options for my daughter for lunch. All that could be offered was a flapjack for her. You really need to up your game on vegan food like other places have done.

Visited after a walk from Epsom. Wanted somewhere we felt safe and could sit outside. Coffee was very good, cakes were tasty. Staff were efficient and polite and were wearing masks. Only downside for us was that there were no signs telling customers to wear a face mask when entering and all but one person who we witnessed going in did not wear masks. No track and trace app or paper sign either.

Went in at 9.15am last week for breakfast with my husband. He stood at the counter and I sat down. We waited...the young man at the coffee machine totally ignored us, the person in the kitchen did the same...it got to the point where my husband got really annoyed and said "we're out of here, these people can't be bothered so neither can we"! We went up the road to the bakery, what a difference, happy, polite, welcoming. We shall not be going to the Grey Dove again.
