I love this place, it's a must every weekend for the club, and weeknights for a light bite. Great cocktails, great vibe and such a unique location! Have taken all my friends here, deffo recommend.

Had an amazing night celebrating a birthday at Gremio .The atmosphere was fantastic, and the staff were so welcoming. A special shoutout to the manager for the birthday shots, it really made the night even more special. Definitely a place we’ll be coming back to. Highly recommend.Thank you

We were very disappointed with what should have been a very special night for our first Valentine's Day together. Firstly, we were sat in the cold part of the restaurant where we were shivering for a lot of the evening, despite asking to move to the warmer part where there was clearly space. Then the food, while good, took ages to arrive and in a random order. For example, the dessert churros arrived before half of the main dishes had arrived, meaning that they were cold by the time we got round to eating them and they were inedible. We were really looking forward to the padron peppers, which we were belatedly told had run out, and were to be replaced with arancini. We were then later told that the arancini had now run out too, and that was replaced with broccoli, hardly an equivalent substitute. The pork belly arrived so late that it was stone cold yet still overcooked. Nearby tables had similar complaints and were very unimpressed too. I raised all these issues with a member of staff, who merely shrugged and said that that's to be expected, and refused any form of an apology or discount. Not happy, and left a sour note on what should have been a great night.

Came here for Valentine’s Day. Wish we hadn’t bothered. Hoped for a romantic evening and a fine-dining experience but was met with neither. Massively underwhelming and much of the food was clearly purchased at a supermarket and re-plated as their own. Honestly would’ve had a better night and saved some money if we’d gone to Wetherspoons. Do not eat here!

Last night, my boyfriend and I celebrated Valentine’s Day at Gremio de Brixton, and we had an amazing time! The atmosphere was cosy and intimate, perfect for the occasion. The service was spot on , the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, with well-prepared and flavourful tapas. The drinks were also fantastic, really well made. It was a great experience, and we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Had a lovely Valentine’s dinner here last night with my boyfriend, and we were really impressed! The set menu had great options, and everything we ordered was delicious. The drinks were also spot on, and the whole atmosphere was just, cosy, relaxed, and really well put together. On top of that, the service was friendly, and made the whole evening even better. Definitely a place we’d come back to!

If I could give no stars I would. I took my partner here for Valentine’s Day and the food was terrible. We had to accept there set menu and ended up asking them to stop bringing out the food and take money of the bill instead. A few low lights include: the cured meat selection which was definitely from Tesco (nobody denied this when we asked), the undercooked patatas bravas that we sent back and came out again immediately, this time without seasoning and just as undercooked. They poured sauce on to excess. Then the goats cheese which was battered seemed from a shop too and defrosted. Not to mention the peppers which had zero seasoning and flavour and which we would have never chosen to order. When we complained our (very kind) waitress alerted the manger who was very rude. He tried to say that the meat selection was from the same ‘Spanish supplier’ as Tesco and was refusing a discount. When we pursued this he accepted one meal off as he was scared of the word ‘Tesco’ being said so loudly in the restaurant. The last thing I have to say is that this same manager implied that we should have a fight outside instead when I complained for the terrible food. Don’t not eat here.

Food bought from supermarket. Disappointing for the price. Kind servers but a manager who acted in an inflammatory way to our complaint. Women's toilet insufficient without soap and hot water.

Truth be told I'm not a massive fan of tapas. Too often I find them pretty basic, samey and overpriced. Paying £10 for a handful of padron peppers is not my idea of a good time. So I reluctant to try this place. However I was impressed by the flavour of the dishes and the evident care that went into the dishes. Croquetas that weren't just bland stodgy potato with bits of chorizo but gooey, unctuous and taste full of complexity. Patatas bravas that were both crispy and fluffy inside of flabby starch covered with a basic red sauce. Pretty much all done she's were cooked to a level that I don't necessarily encounter too often with tapas. Good simple cooking down well. The location is also gorgeous - in a converted crypt of a church - which adds a romantic element to the surroundings. If booked via first table this becomes really good value.

A restaurant that looks somewhat inconspicuous from the outside - perhaps that's why it wasn't so full there. You come down the stairs into the large vaulted cellar - everything is a bit wicked but the ambience is great. The staff is also extremely nice and the food was second to none. We had a lot of different tapas to choose from and very good wine. The evening was long and beautiful and will remain in our fond memories of our short visit to London in the summer.

Food is good, but they forgot my main and my dessert. DJ on a Saturday is terrible, if you hate 2000s pop, then I advise going on a different day. It ruins the vibe of the dark gothic atmosphere. Once we got the paella, it was really delicous. I never received my dessert but decided to leave it. I'll definitely be coming back to try again on a different day.

Top night. First time. Menu was outstanding, though there were a couple of items missing on the evening but we’ll be back to try them! Dj was great later too

Porciones muy pequeñas, para tres personas pedimos seis platos pequeños como se aconseja. Cinco gambas, cuatro croquetas y un par de trozos de pan apenas cubrían medio plato pequeño. Terminó con doce platos a un costo de £ 120 para una cena. No es de extrañar que el lugar estaba medio vacío

We went for Halloween and it was so fun! I loved the mixture of music from the dj. The crowd was cool and the staff kind 😎

Went to collect jacket left in cloakroom a previous evening. Was told it wasn’t there and cleaners had seen nothing but used my AirTag to track it through a locked door and thrown in an electrical store room. But with headphones missing from the pocket. Don’t trust the cloakroom safety at all.

This is the worst restaurant I have ever been to. They messed up my order the first time I went there and then did the same thing the 2nd time as well. Awful customer service. I have had to have a refund both times I have been here and will never return ever again

Had a wonderful evening here for my birthday!! I had a large group, ordered a banquet menu and Gremio were attentive and the food was delicious.

Great location for dinner and drinks but the food was not good at all.

My family and I went for Saturday brunch. The Brunch menu was fabulous with filling portion sizes. Highly recommend the Bread and Olive Oil, it was to die for. All the staff were accommodating and courteous. The restaurant was wonderfully atmospheric. Will definitely eat there again.

Loved loved loved our dinner here last night. The food was so good, the servers were so attentive and lovely. The place is so cool; the low vaulted ceilings and all the decor is just such a vibe.

Really great food and great value for money. We went on a Thursday evening and it was a bit quiet but can imagine there is a great atmosphere when it’s a bit busier. Tapas can get a bit expensive but we were really impressed that we had such a great meal (and a couple of sangrias/beers each) for about £45 per person. Will definitely be back.

The atmosphere is fantastic, and the darkness and candles, guitar, Spanish music, and great wines. The only thing that I had never again was the churros! It's only crunchy but not well cooked. The environment is great!

Fantastic tapas restaurant. Have been a few times, steak and chicken are amazing. Staff are great and so helpful. Go for the brixton sangria! Feels like a real hidden gem.

Delicious food. Great atmosphere. Music was a bit loud making conversation in a naturally echoey crypt a bit difficult. Everyone was trying to shout above the background noise this making it worse. Menu font is tiny on brown paper so bring your glasses or photo with your phone.

Six delicious dishes between two people plus four premium drinks for under £100 with service is excellent value in London. The service was friendly, helpful, and attentive, the food fresh and sensibly proportioned. And while the cavernous crypt in which we ate was pretty full on a Friday night, at no time did it feel overtly loud and claustrophobic. Definitely worth a visit, recommended.

Tried to scam both me and my friend to say that we hadn’t paid for our drinks when we had and we had the proof of our bank statements and witnesses. Was completely empty when we got in and I think they were trying to charge us double because how bad business was. Don’t waste your time. Rude and disrespectful.

I recently visited for dinner and had a great time. The place has a really nice vibe, and we didn’t have to wait long at all. The food was super tasty, with lots of options to choose from. Plus, the drinks were awesome and well-made. Definitely a spot I’d recommend if you’re looking for a good meal and a good time!

Michelin star quality! Along with generous sharing portions. Amongst other things, we recommend the: black rice, gambas, spanish omelette, lamb cutlets, rice with chicken and chorizo, patatas bravas, and chicken thighs. Frankly, this is still the best Tapas I've ever eaten anywhere in the UK. I highly recommend.

The place is beautiful and the staff very friendly. But a Spanish restaurant is a whole other thing. When we arrived we were immediately told that they did not have “jamon iberico.” A Spanish restaurant without jamon iberico is like an Italian pizzeria without pizza. Passable food, very limited, sangria as well. It's like a group of students “rented” a church crypt and decided to make an unpretentious little restaurant out of it. Nice, fun for music and beer, but goodness, to eat Spanish you have to change venues.

Really enjoyed the tapas here, super interesting menu with a lot of variety compared to other tapas restaurants. The highlight dish was the steak with chimichurri - very tasty. Very large space as well so didn’t feel crammed at all. Also finished a dinner with reasonable bill for once !

Oh My God! Please come here. Every dish was exceptional. We had the prawns, octopus, chicken thighs, lamb chops and steak and we found ourselves continuously looking at the menu for the next plate! Some of the best vegetarian Tapas I have had in a long time. Though a lot of the vegetable options were deep fried. I judge a tapas place on the tortilla and this tortilla was fresh and gooey with a crisp exterior which was lovely. We over ordered 6 dishes for 2 people, i would have said 4 dishes would have been enough for us. Service was lovely and attentive. We booked for a 7pm reservation on a Friday and we were only one of 3 seated tables. However by 7:30/45 the place was full. We paid £60 for 2 people and no alcohol. Though we could have ordered less for sure.

The staff were welcoming and friendly. The service was quick and the food was very tasty and high quality - especially the octopus and the chicken thighs. The setting in a church crypt is very atmospheric and unusual.

The place is amazing, the food was incredible, the sirloin, the croquetas and the baked goat cheese were fabulous, the music selection was also wonderful and our waiter Jordi made our night even better with his amazing, professional and really friendly service. So glad this place is around the corner from our flat we will definitely be coming back.

Very nice visit and a great find. I suspect the business could do with promoting itself better as it is tucked out of the way under St Mathew's church and I new nothing about it despite being local for the last 3 years. I definitely will go again with friends and family. Good VFM.

We reserved on a Saturday night last minute for a birthday party and we were not disappointed.The food portions were very satisfying and the quality was so much better than we expected. Yira was a wonderful waitress, attentive and helpful and made the evening run smoothly. I would highly recommend this place for large groups and celebrations. You will definitely get your money's worth and I am a huge fan of the fried goat's cheese and the Gremio sangría. Great all round!

Couldn't believe how low the bill was despite us having 2 jugs of sangria and enough tapas to fill us up! Such lovely welcoming staff and a gorgeous atmosphere. This place really should be more popular than it is right now. Recommend to all!!

Outstanding restaurant experience, the food was unreal, every dish we ordered was perfect. Absolutely rammed with flavour. Would highly recommend! Booked a table for 8pm on a Friday, great time as the tables started to fill up shortly after we arrived. Tables are spaced nicely so even if it’s packed you don’t feel like you’re squeezed in.

Lovely decor and atmosphere. The service was friendly and prompt. The menu has all the classic tapas, plus some more modern twists on favourites. Everything we had was presented well and full of flavour. Drinks menu has a lovely selection of delicious cocktails and sangrias .

Food good but service veery slow

Gremios has been my local for more than 5 years now but after tonight I will never come here again. Had a table booked all week, the week before Christmas. I turn up to be told that the restaurant is closed. No phone call, no voicemail, no email to inform me in advance of this. The week before Christmas, so now we cannot get a table anywhere. Absolutely disgraceful and never will I return here after spoiling what was supposed to be a lovely evening. thank you for absolutely nothing.

Servers were exceptionally friendly and food was good and reasonably priced. whether they were short staffed we found the wait for food and drinks was longer than probably should be. If you don;t like noise this place would not be for you .

Nice tapas bar in the church's vaulted cellar. The selection of food and drinks is good, everything is tasty and good value for money. The service was remarkable, perfect pace and accommodating.

Having been to Gremio’s at 2am on a Saturday night, I was shocked to learn that the establishment doubled as a restaurant. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The tapas was delicious, reasonably priced and the atmosphere / service was great. Would particularly recommend the pork belly.

The bouncer Michelle was the best bouncer I've met in my 6years of living in London. She made sure I made my way back home safely, even taking the extra mile to ensure I get to my bus stop safely. All the bouncers were really good tonight, they were all friendly and I felt safe:)

The food is average, probably the worst tapas bar in London I've ever been and definitely unacceptable for Spanish standards, but we are not in Spain so we'll leave it at average. Drinks arrived when we were nearly finished with the food but that seemed to be an oddity that only happened to us. On a positive note, the place is not too expensive

Went there for the first time recently and had a great time. Food was fantastic, so well-priced and fab service!

We had a very poor experience here. The food was average quality with very small portion sizes, not the usual serving size for tapas. Some food arrived immediately after ordering and some arrived after a considerable wait, some didn’t arrive at all. We asked the wait staff many times about the food and they sort of shrugged and said it will come when it comes. Even getting the bill took forever and we had to request it several times. When the bill finally arrived it included several items that we had not received, these were then removed at our request. Overall a very underwhelming experience and I doubt we will be back.

The food is just terrible. Omelette tasted store bought, microwaved, overcooked and fishy. No olive oil on the soggy bread with tomato. Even the olives were terrible. Such a shame as the venue is great.

Stopped by for drinks on a Saturday early evening. Gorgeous venue with a lovely atmosphere and good music, will be back to try their tapas!

Cool basement vibes underneath a church within a stone's throw from Brixton station right next to the main road and surrounded by a small grassy park. Nice ambience for dancing and has a protected DJ booth but the ceilings are very low and may feel a tad claustrophobic.

I haven't been for food but just for when it turns into a club after - I'd been warned this place gets very hot and sweaty and this definitely was the case. Music was techno-y so got a bit samey after a short space of time.

It's not bad to drink and go out for a while. The place is worth seeing, but don't even think about ordering to eat, terribly expensive and poor quality.

Some dishes dialed in and not worth the price, eg chorizo in wine was way under cooked, how hard is that to get right .?! . Marisco arroz was nice though! Staff and drinks all good, great setting.

The service here is terrible. It was super obvious that none of the staff wanted to be there or even liked each other. We were only given 2 drinks menus between 10 and our water was visibly annoyed that I hadn’t been able to look at the menu when she wanted to take our drinks order. I was made to feel bad for reminding our waitress about my drink after 10 minutes. Our waitress dropped one of our churros, didn’t acknowledge it at all and didn’t pick it up! We had to! Had to ask for water and when it was delivered it was the just slammed straight on the table with no words. Every time they bought a dish over there was nowhere to put it because they hadn’t cleared the table at any point. Didn’t get a single smile from any of the staff the whole meal. We came in as group and had preordered a combination of vegetarian and non vegetarian options so when we asked if they could explain what was and wasn’t vegetarian they became confused about what we had actually ordered… surely that’s the point of preordering. We felt so strongly that we took off the service charge something that as a group we have never done! The food was fine but was nothing special- mediocre at best and certainly not worth £30. The churros had clearly been sitting under the heat lamp and were not fresh and the chocolate sauce was way too thin. The cocktails and sangria was nice though as was the general ambience. There are better tapas places and we won’t be back.

Great Tapas, better than most with great portions and enough to get us full and satisfied. Service was polite and quick. Food and drink reasonably priced for a the area too
