Costa Coffee (Chingford) in Waltham Forest

I popped in for coffee n cake..waited in the Q…when it was my turn to be served..the young assistant decided to serve the girls behind me…when I said what abt me she replied “Oh I know them”..appaulling!..walked out

My favourite go-to for hot drinks. Amazing and quick service from staff!

I have just left here physically shaking after coming in to buy a coffee with my daughter. I was half way through making my order when a man said that I had pushed in. I saw nobody was queuing by the till when I arrived and the member of staff was happily taking my order. The man was getting more angry, and feeling more intimated I had to leave. The staff while in a difficult position didn't say anything and let his actions escalate. They obviously knew who he was too as when I left they said his name telling him that he had gone too far. I was in a really relaxed mood entering but still an hour late in shock at what happened. I will be taking up this further with head office as simple intervention by staff would have stopped this ending like it did. I will never return to your premises which is a shame.

The second time this happened, I've had it now. My 4 years old always wants the mac and cheese pasta,he loves it. Went to the fridge but couldn't see any pasta, so I asked the lady behind the counter if there was any in the back. She said there was none left, so my boy settled for a sandwich. A few minutes later, another member of staff comes with the pasta to refill the fridge. She saw me staring confused, so she asked me if I wanted the pasta. I told her that i originally wanted to buy the pasta, but because I was told there was none, I ordered a sandwich. The girls behind the counter they were chating amongst each other, and i heard one of them saying :" I made the sandwich for them already. What do you want me to do with it?" After that, one of them turned back to us and said, " Sorry, we can't change it. You already have the sandwich." Not only that the same exact thing happened a while back, but every time I came to this particular Costa branch, the staff here were rude and always showed a lack of interest. I like Costa products and my kids as well and whenever we go to the Costa brach inside Tesco at Highams Park, we never had any issues. Staff there are kind and provide good customer service. The 1 star review it's not for Costa in particular but for the Costa branch in Chingford Mount

Had my hands full, tried opening the doors, dropped my drink and they replaced for free no hesitation. They were nice about it and I got my order so fast. Great staff there definitely going back.

Rude staff. Porridge with warm water. Bad service. Worst service ever.i will avoid this costa next times.

Very busy. But if you can find a seat the usual high quality coffee and cakes are available. Especially love the caramel shortbread ...

Ordered Tropical Mango bubble frappe but doesn't have any popping pearls inside as mentioned in description 🙁 however atmosphere and service was all good

Your employees need to be trained in how to deal with customers, not leaving them stand in a queue. I had to walk away from the queue as a member of your team simply did not want to serve me. She seemed to constrate on helping the other employee on the coffee machine. The whole experience yesterday was not a patch on the way that your members of staff in Walthamstow, they are most helpful and very good .

Spacious, quiet, cool and very clean. Good service and I was able to do a little work at breakfast time, they have lots of power outlets so no scrambling for a key seat.

Second visit, needed to give a review this time. Staff didn't quite understand me when I asked for serviettes and kind of corrected me with saying, Nakins?! She also made a comment about the Mac n Cheese sandwich I ordered. The young man who served me over the counter was pleasant, so was the older lady who made my hot drink. See how one staff can spoil it all, for an overall experience. Will think twice about returning, although the toastie was nice, next time I can get it from M&S. It's a collaboration with them. Toilets were locked, bit of a faff to open them up, ended up not going. Paid £7.55 for this, see photos. As I'm typing this, I hear a customer ask for serviettes... How ironic eh??!

Overall very nice place enjoy the place they have good things in the menu al great flavours however can be a little packed and after school a lot of secondary school kids come and disturb the peace. Over than that it's perfect

I popped in with a friend this morning. We ordered a coffee each one hazelnut latte, one gingerbread and herself one slice of cake. They didn't hear that she had ordered cake so she had to go to the counter again and pay. She sat took a sip of her coffee to find no hazelnut in there, so had to go again. 3 1/4 way threw my coffee I could no longer taste gingerbread but infact strong hazelnut!!! I had a struggle getting home due to strong nausea/acidic feeling in my stomach! shaking,dizziness and sweating. I was sick when I got home and have felt dizzy, nauseous and had a headache all day!!! I was absolutely fine before my visit and felt awful by the time I left. These are all symptoms of sugar overdose! I drink coffee regularly so I know the caffeine would not affect me like that! Terrible!

Went to Costa to collect a bag from toogoodtogo. Shop was empty. I told the lady I was there to collect a toogoodtogo bag. She barked at me show me, so I brought up the confirmation email I had received. (my first time using the app) the lady then said no show me the page. I said this is my confirmation I've paid, again she shouts this time show me the page. She says this another 3/4 times clearly agitated. I then ask do you mean you want me to go onto the app? She responds with yes I said show me the page. After finally showing her the app once I figured out what she ment, she huffed walked round threw 3 toasties in a bag and put it on the counter saying here and walked off into the back of the shop. Won't ever come in here again. I get that it was partially my fault not knowing how the process works but a bit of customer service and her explaining what she needed to see properly rather than shouting the same sentance at me repetitively would of gone a long way. After speaking to friends about it, its become apparent that this woman has a foul attitude regularly as they all knew which staff member I was talking about without me describing her.

I got there around 8 in the morning with just a couple of people outside sipping coffee and inside completely empty. The friendly lady behind the Perspex made me a latte after we managed to sort it out through our masks. I left around 11 and by then it was half full inside and out with a queue building up. Btw I was mildly pleased with myself for resisting the yummy cakes!

Lovely staff, very helpful. Would give 5 stars but due to their 'policy' which I was not shown a copy of I had difficulties paying with Scottish notes - which is a legal tender in the UK. Was advised that lots of fake notes are in circulation and they have no way of checking. SUGGESTION- instead of stopping short of accusing customers of trying to pass fake notes, training should be provided to enable staff to recognise the difference between real and fake cash. Customers should be able to use legal tender in the whole of UK without being made to feel like a criminal.

The usual Costa experience in terms of food and drink. This branch does not have dedicated parking. There is seating inside for roughly 20 guests, but the seats do not lend themselves to comfort (the tables are too short to be comfortable for the chairs). The staff are friendly and work very hard, but there are better coffee experiences to be had close by.

Nice place, but the majority of the chairs inside are very uncomfortable. They dont match with the height of the table (or table should be higher or chair lower) you cant find a position to feel comfortable. Good selection of sandwiches and types of coffee. The disabled bathroom was clean, organized.

It a great little retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday shopping... The staff are also excellent.

Highly recommend this Costa! The 2 young girls and the Italian lady are always nice and friendly. Had my best coffees made by them . They always recommend you what you can have when you want to try something new ..quick and nice service!

Lovely set up and clean. Only downside was that the 'toasted ' sandwich appeared to have been zapped because it was soft.

Great service... the lovely barista could see I was limping and wincing in pain, so she offered to carry my tray over to the table for me. The food and drinks are pretty good too, only thing stopping a five-star is price, but I guess that's life... prices are going up everywhere.

Beautiful and amazing coffee shop, I personally love costa there food and drinks are some of the best you can find taste and quality wise as well as price which in the London area can be a real struggle, I would highly recommend costa not just this branch but any due to the amazing service standards they offer

Tables filthy, workers don't even know how to smile and make you feel welcome. All in all my experience was ruined. Won't be returning to this branch. However the staff at the St James Street E17 are absolutely amazing. Maybe get some more training for the staff in Chingford because they are lacking.

I don't like coffee but if I'm caught short they do let you use the bathroom WITHOUT having to purchase anything..
