Sahara Grill - Leyton in Waltham Forest

Had the pleasure of dining at Sahara Grill on Friday evening for iftari. The service was great with all of our needs being catered for to full. Many thanks to Ridwan especially for all of his help, he was great and tended to all of our needs. Will definitely be coming back.

Anas was a great waiter. Anas waited very patiently to take order and gave some great suggestions. Nice atmosphere .

Review (04/03/2025): I celebrated my birthday dinner here last night, and the food was absolutely fantastic! My neighbor and I ordered short ribs with rice & gravy, chicken steak with yellow rice and coleslaw, mixed fried rice with a side of sauce, and a delicious portion of dynamite shrimp. For drinks, we had an orange Tango, mango frappe, tea, and lemon water. Dessert was a treat – the rich chocolate mousse cake and the warm apple crumble with custard were both incredible. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked – we were pleasantly surprised by how good it all tasted! The restaurant was quiet due to Ramadan, but the service was outstanding. A big thank you to Azhar, Redwan (the manager), and the staff member with glasses – all were very welcoming, friendly, and even opened the door for us on our way out, which was a lovely gesture. We paid £110.70, which was excellent value for such a wonderful birthday dinner. We’ve been here before, and each visit has been a great experience. It’s always nice to find a place that consistently delivers excellent food and warm service – looking forward to come back again soon!

Very good food and very nice staff

The portion sizes were quite disappointing for the price. While the food itself was decent, the value for money just wasn’t there. Definitely not worth the price for the portion size

I just love the food how it tastes even the grilled chicken was not too dry neither too juicy it was just perfect and get an heads off service from Anas he was just running back and fore and very kind too

Disappointing Experience Tried Sahara Grill Leyton with family, and honestly, it was a bit of a letdown. The Good: The atmosphere was nice – modern. The food itself was okay, nothing special. They offer a good variety of chicken and lamb steaks, but the chicken steak I ordered was chewy and dry, which was a shame. The Bad: Service was the biggest issue. We had to wait 30 minutes just to get a table, and then another 40 minutes for the food, even though we were told it would be 18-20 mins. When the food finally started arriving, it didn’t come together – half the family had finished their meals while the rest were still waiting. That really spoiled the experience. Staff were polite but didn’t really do much to sort things out when we raised our concerns. Given the overall experience, it didn’t feel worth it. Wouldn’t rush back – plenty of better options around

Been few years since I visited my local Sahara Grill, so I decided to take my Mrs for a birthday dinner. I entered the restaurant immediately approached by staff and got a seat. My waiter was Aqib he was very friendly and polite. We ordered the pepper stake and porter house steak, which was awesome, with great taste and quality, and finished with a toffee apple, which crumble my favourite. The restaurant has a great atmosphere for friends and family but the staff really make all the difference like Aqib he looked after me and did a fantastic job so keep Up the great service will be back soon Had another trip on valentines day with my Mrs since we hadn't been for a while and yes my favourite waiter Ridwan was zipping around ensuring the customers were getting the best experience. Today we were served by Aqib and Yahya both very polite and friendly as always towards the end Yahya mentioned they do Karak Chai and requested us to try it and wow amazing was the best karak chai I've had absolutely amazing it great to be surrounded by great service and these guys are really polite and friendly. It was another great visit thanks to the amazing staff great atmosphere for couples and family recommended to all to go there and try there dishes keep Up the great work team 💪

Eglefino rebozado con papas fritas; excelente. Un poco costoso para nosotros los pensionistas, pero una delicia fabulosa. Continuamente atendiéndonos. No hay personal para limpiar platos antes del postre. Nos encantó.

Food standards have gone down here, over priced. Some steaks were dry some were chewy. Coleslaw and chips portion weren't great either. Mediterranean platter extremely overpriced. Place is more focused on high tech robots and fancy lighting but not the humble food it once use to have

I have been eating here since it opened over a decade ago, its is the only place that tastes even better every time you visit. Very good atmosphere for bringing the family or even to dine by yourself. I do this every other month to top up the iron properly. The produce and meat here is of very high quality. The staff are very professional. Every time I dine I am always looked after by Yahya, he finds me a nice quiet corner of the restaurant to enjoy my meal in peace.

Visited Sahara Grill today in Leyton with my kids and family, and we have had such a great experience and a warm welcome from the restaurant management. Firstly, we booked our table via phone. We spoke to Ridwan who was very polite and warm on the phone and he has got excellent phone manners and booked our table instantly. Once we were there, we were welcomed by the restaurant manager as we entered and he asked about our reservations and once confirmed, he ushered us to our table. Then we ordered the food and the food was brought to our table swiftly and presented in a nice way. The waiter brother was very courteous and very friendly and treated us with respect. We tried Dirty Chips, Whole Grilled Chicken and Buffalo Wings and all were amazing especially the Dirty Chips. We ordered it twice. The food was a bit spicy but very nice. Overall, worth a visit and highly recommended.

All the brothers at Sahara grill Leyton are amazing and attentive. Always going the extra mile. I have been regular at this place for a long time. Always look forward to coming here. The food has so much flavour. No other place does it like Sahara grill in my book.

I absolutely love the steak her, it’s m one of the best I’ve had. This is my second visit, and I’m so impressed that the quality, taste, and overall experience remain just as incredible as my first time. The steak is cooked to perfection, full of flavor, and consistently satisfying. Once again, I was served by Azhar, who is such a warm and friendly presence. He goes above and beyond to make guests feel welcome, and his exceptional service makes the dining experience even more enjoyable. I’m already looking forward to coming back for my third visit and has easily become one of my favourite places to eat at.
