Greggs - Mermaid Quay in Cardiff

Popped in on Maundy Thursday for a late lunch. Seating area was filthy. A woman came over and cleared the rubbish but didn’t wipe any tables and the floor was also covered in crap. Additionally, you have to prise the doors open as they deactivate the automatic doors due to all the pigeons, that probably wouldn’t go in if it wasn’t so filthy! Worst Greggs I’ve ever been too just from a hygiene perspective.

Been in 3 times on different days to have a sausage bean and cheese melt and 3 times I’ve bitten into it and it’s been a chicken bake. By the time I get back and notice it’s too far to go back and change it.

Ordered through Just Eat and everything went through okay - refreshed the page and had an error pop up, so I rang up and spoke with a gentleman working in the Mermaid Quay store, he informed me they didn't have an item I originally ordered but was happy to go out of his way and help me pick another one - I said surprise me, and he definitely did! What a legend! Just wanted to leave a message of thanks to the gent and the store, don't know his name but thank you for helping me and going above and beyond - It even came quicker than expected! 11/10

Pretty standard Greggs, gets the job done. Decent size, has all the usual options and staff are friendly. Just a heads up, there are extensive roadworks outside but it is still open.

Cappuccino please - nope Latte please - ok but I won't tell you we have no sugar Bacon bap with extra bacon - I'll make it and not tell you we have not extra bacon With spread please - ok, but only on a couple of inches of one side of the roll Croissant - ok but feels a bit stale Sausage roll - ok but it's stone cold Prepare your stick better Quality check your food

While i was waiting in the queue a gent infront of me was buying some food and asked the staff member if they did any discount for NHS staff? The staff member asked for proof and wanted to see his NHS badge! The customer said he didn't have it on him but he had the blue light app staff member walked off after a few mins he came back and said: 'if you dont have ur NHS id then u dont get the discount!!' (i later found out that u can only get the app if your work for one of the important services) The same male staff member went on to serve me i ordered two breakfast rolls and a coffee i asked for a bag because i walk with a stick, he slammed the bag down on the counter & charged me 10p for it (paper bag) The bacon roll was luke warm while the sausage bap was cold.. The staff member might have been having a bad day but PLEASE DONT TAKE IT OUT ON THE CUSTOMERS!!

with its tasty selection of baguettes and a good coffee. Pleasant service and clean cafe for a sit in meal. Great supporter of Greggs.

When I was working nearby here I used to come in on lunch breaks. Always gets so busy! Pre-bake your pastries guys! You know when lunch hour is! Other than that, it's got the seating that all new Greggs' have. Can't go wrong although the staff weren't very nice when I visited.

Simply put there’s never to much between any Greggs you visit in my opinion. This Cardiff Bay Greg’s was clean and tidy. Fair choice of food on display but not as much as I’ve seen in other shops. I’ve found Greens are getting more and more expensive for what it is. Overall good visit , would return, polite staff although only two observed.

This wouldn't be my first choice for a place to get food in the Bay, but it's absolutely fine if you're looking to pick something quick to eat like a baguette or sausage roll. They have a couple of tables inside this branch hence being listed as a restaurant and it's very clean.

I have made a decision not to buy any more Gregg pasties of sausage rolls as every time I have one they are eithe luke warm or nearly cold .of you ask them to pop them in the microwave for a few seconds they refuse becose they are not allowed to do so. This applies to other Gregg shops.Pity becose they are good value for money when they are hot
