Greggs in St Edmundsbury

Love going to Greggs alway lovely food hot drinks and happy staff.

Staff helpful when a voucher didn't work on the toll, bacon rolls and sausage rolls are a bargain. Coffee ok for the money

11 Abbeygate St, Bury St Edmunds, Bury Saint Edmunds IP33 1UN visited them today 26/03/24 bought 2 meat and vegetable pasties we went and sat down by the window in the corner. First of all the pasties were cold the pastry was stodgy and pappy, the cleanliness was appalling. The window sill were we sat was stained with tea or coffee spills and was coked with mildew along the seals. I wiped a few crumbs off the table and the tissue was covered in dirt where the tables have not been cleaned since who knows when ?, needless to say i will not be visiting there again.

Nice snacks and good coffee. A bit noisy when I visited as there were loads of kids inside.

Best cafe shop in Bury, stuff is friendly and they give you a free drink for first time app download. Deserve 5 stars 👍

They never hardly have any food!! Run by Saturday kids who couldn’t care less about you the food or service!!! When you go I can guarantee the cupboard will be bare and if you do manage to get “hot food” it will be stone cold!! Oh yes, I almost forgot, if using the toilet, you can wee on the floor like everyone else!!… Good luck!!!

The steak bake was boiling hot! It burnt my mouth and fingers. You should never serve food this hot!

Went in to buy food today after a girl named Becky finished emptying the bin she kindly served me without so much as running her hand under a tap . Would u do the bin in your kitchen then make food No disgusting . The food was disgusting to burnt sausage roll stale Tottenham cake .when she came to serve me I almost said wash your hands then I thought no il see if she serves me with dirty hands an yes she did I didn’t eat it either ..

Really like this Gregg's, nice atmosphere and the usual great food and friendly service. Awesome sausage rolls, as always, and great bacon rolls on the breakfast menu.

There was one worker in particular that really did their job well managing 2 tills and as well as constantly managing every and each station and any time she had gotten a second to her self her manager would have a go at her whenever she would talk to customers despite spending hours at a time talking to other people and not doing her job it’s unfortunate to see such management she really should be given a raise.

I have to say, we always seem to get great service when we come to greggs. This visit was very disappointing. We bought some items for my son, and we needed to use the facilities before we left. In both toilets, there was no toilet paper. I asked at the counter if I could be given some. She went out the back to ask someone to put some in. When the lady Casey finally finished messing around in the kitchen area, she rudely stated she was still going to put the toilet roll in. I wasn't impressed with the way she had spoken to me, so asked messing around in the kitchen was more important than getting toilet rolls so my son could use the toilet. She replied with, well it's done now. I feel maybe Casey needs to have a course in customer service because the whole experience with her was completely unacceptable. The lady who served my son was friendly. Shame Casey wasn't the same.

Good when they actually have food. I work local to this shop and tbh I have given up getting food from here now its 1 o clock today and so empty I just walked back out. Edit I have increased my rating as improvements have definitely been made, better availability for sure.

Very dirty , might be cos they were busy , main bug was staff dragging chairs across the seating area creating the most awful noise whilst trying to talk

Appalling customer service. Extremely rude staff. They don’t know how to talk to customers with some respect. Dirty looking customers, when ordering they’re rude. Seem as though none of them can be bothered to work. Some of the staff are middle aged and you’d expect better from them with their people skills. Extremely disappointing. Only went in there to go get some lunch and this is not the service you’d expect to get. Unnecessary.

Jamie was lovely as I always come in the morning I had asked about a point reward system and she let me know if I download the app I would be able to get s free hot drink and I can collect points, she then said for me to download it right there and then and that she was more then happy to wait for me to sign up, she even moved to the second till so she can aid every other costumer while waiting for me! thank you Jamie you were amazing, always with a smile on your face.

Staff are quick and friendly, foods always tasty and hot

Table service? No. Able service? Yes. I had just taken my Nissan sunny in for an MOT, feeling a trifle apprehensive my gullet quivered, hunger pangs knocked like an angry postman. Knock. Knock. Knock. A memory overcomes me. Stelios bragging about the finest steak bake in town at the water cooler over at Ridgeons. I despise Stelios. Ecoutez et repetez BAKE!! BAKE!! BAKE!! Stelios. The man with a perfect jaw, perfect wife, perfect family and low and behold the quintessential steak beak. I must best him. Stelios has a new Audi Q8 which doesn't require an MOT until march 2027, he'll never know this stress. I venture to Gregg's, the promised land. I walk to the counter and confidently demand, 1 steak bake, 1 chicken bake, 3 sausage roll, 2 yum yum, 1 iced ring donut, 1 Coke zero and a large flat white with no sugar. I sit with my considerable meal. I regard the heaving mass of bronze. Je Deteste. Regardless I chew and chew until nothing is left. My next trip to the timber merchants will be a triumph. Stelios on his knees begging for me to not flash my Gregg's receipt to his colleagues. I win this time, and every time for I am DONALD lighthouse. Beg me for mercy, none I shall provide. The food was in adequate but cold, I feel sick now so I must rest. Tomorrow I need 3 8x4 sheets of plywood. See you soon Stelios

Never visited a Greggs before but I’ll be back, lovely sausage rolls and friendly staff. Advised by my friend Stelios a regular to try a steak bake but I’ll save that for next time. 5 stars and really nice air conditioning.

The food is delicious, I was pleasantly surprised it wasn't expensive I got 2 baguettes 2 drinks 2 cakes to take out for £8 something and so fresh and tasty

Said to be the poshest Greggs in the Country. But what else would you expect in Bury St Edmunds. Anyway its very nice, friendly and helpful staff. Nice and clean inside and good value. I was impressed.

What is there to say about Greggs. It never changes and that's what makes it 5 stars. Stake bake or a bacon and cheese turnover. Coffee is wanting in taste, but for the price its acceptable.

Ok when you on your lunch break or a quick something to eat while your in town.

You can't go wrong with a Greggs. The only slight criticism I would have of this particular one is that it is very difficult to eat in as it is always very busy with little seating.

Always lovely to eat there, nice selection, clean dining are, friendly staff, very reasonable prices.

We were surprised that although we were eating in our coffee still came in a takeaway cup. Also our food was served in a takeaway bag, too!!!. 🤓

Greggs don't serve decaf tea. Besides that, it's Greggs.

This Greg's in Bury St Edmunds is an old building and from the outside looks a bit run down. Was fairly busy has sit in as well as take away. The hot counter was empty choice limited. Also only one disabled toilet. I had children so found this inconvenient

Great customer service plus great food and drink.

Had an egg mayo sandwich and coffee and sat in the cafe to eat it. Food was nice and plenty of room to sit for a quick break before continuing. Greggs food is always good, though a bit dull and tired in the seating area.

Visited greggs this morning . Just one young girl serving , the whole time I was there , with the queue outside the door . So there was no table cleaning , puck up your ideas and provide a decent service.

This Greggs in my opinion is a tip with very poorly trained staff and is very dirty. Does anyone clean this place?

Waited a long time for service and no hot food, music too loud tables and floor dirty as usual not enough staff cobwebs in windows the cafe was pretty chilly overall a rubbish place to eat. A bit reminiscent of Soviet Russia tbh very poor quality.

The cashier was very nice but as soon as we ordered our pasties they we cold, but they have a heater for the chips to keep them hot.Other than that great service.

Too many tables to get a pushchair or wheelchair around. Tables were dirty, and not a very welcoming place.

8.30 toilets still locked,I asked if they were out of order and was told that they hadn't been unlocked,finally at 8.45 someone came and unlocked the door. Service under par.

Delicious food, fab customer service 10/10.

Not as good as some Greggs stores as staff are often overwhelmed by the busyness and so it's worth a short walk across town to the other Greggs where it is faster service.

The seating area was filthy. Lazy staff, they would get the sack if I had anything to do with it. What a let down for a household name. I gave it two stars instead of one only because the sausage roll and coffee was ok.

When for lunch and there hot food was cold

Gregg's nothing much to shout about there, unless a child sitting opposite is screaming away whilst your trying to enjoy your coffee!. New Excitingly you can have coffee or tea in a card cup, gone are the cups and saucer, you get to eat out of a paper bag, gone are plates,etc so Gregg's can create more waste isn't that great Gregg's

Good for sausage rolls and hot drinks

I really couldn't believe greggs in bury st edmunds today.....at 12.45 pm lunchtime there was only 6 rolls and 2 toasties. The shelves were all empty and so many people popped their head around the door to see it bare. When I asked the staff they just said we are short staffed when 4 people were standing around behind the counter. Also it was very messy everywhere and rubbish not cleared up off floors. Not living the dream as read about on line, the building etc. Worst one ever in years.

Fantastic! I love there breakfasts, the breakfast sausages are amazing definitely worth a try. A wide selection of sandwiches, drinks and pastries. The staff are very friendly. 👍

Sat in this greggs. Had hot chocolate and a sausage roll, also had a white chocolate cookie. They are delicious.
