Chick King Takeaway in St Edmundsbury

A total failure. Ordered well in advance and it’s turns up 30 minutes late, cold and dry. Chicken was just about edible but still gross. I called and spoke to a guy incapable of English, doing his job or caring. We will return the food. We will lever waste our money here again and I suggest you buy your food somewhere else. This place doesn’t serve “food”

I usually love this place but last few orders have been a letdown, meat feast pizza had a few slices of pepperoni and some other mystery meat, sauce supposedly tomato but not sure what it was, potato surprise was just a box of mush any of the coating had slid off with all the grease. The only saving grace is that the delivery people are always on time and polite.

For the fried chicken the oil that you sometimes use have an after taste. Please consider replacing oil regularly or use a oil of higher quality.

Popped in here on the way home from work 🙌 I found the food good I ordered a pizza 🍕 and it was lovely from the time I ordered it to getting it was quite quick 😀 the staff were very polite and friendly prices are good for a takeaway

I have Coeliac disease and asked for allergen menu and told none available , no cares given, not worth the risk, do not bother.

A box of grease. My potatoes where absolutely swimming in grease. And mushed up its like i had a box of mash potatoe with grease. My car my clothes are all stained from its dripping out the box. The chicken was disgusting, Its sad because i loved this place i loved the potatoes here. What ever is happening to it

I made an extremely polite complaint and got called obscenities down the phone. Could not believe it. Disappointing and upsetting.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE Very rude delivery driver!! Ordered and paid and never received my food! I placed an order online this evening for delivery and the driver refused to deliver to me as he said he couldn’t access my apartment!

This was the worst fried chicken and pototo surprise ever, most of it went to the bin. The chicken skin was not seasoned well and was soggy like jelly and the potatoes had the texture of boiled potatoes just dipped in oil with no flavour. It was really horrible and went to the bin. Chick King refused a refund. I am deleting my account and never ordering again.

Parked up 7 miles outside bury st edmunds ordered food was accepted on food app then phone call saying 7 miles is to far absolute joke and want a minimum orfer of 40 quid for 1 person ridiculous hgv are treated like scum

Absolutely shocking ordered Ben and jerrys chocolate brownie ice cream and sent cookie dough instead when I rang up about this they just kept saying they didn’t have chocolate brownie I said we didn’t like cookie dough and would like money back they said they couldn’t do anything about it don’t EVER order from these people they just take your money and don’t care if I could give them a 0 rating I would absolute shisters

Ordered a supreme burger meal and large potato surprise. Firstly the top of my bun was stale and the chicken was dry and rubbery. The potato surprise tasted like they were freezer burnt, they were dry and chewy. Such a shame as I've always loved a chick king but on this occasion I'm really disappointed.

Husband & I decided to treat ourselves to chicken and potato surprise. Ordered two small potato surprises and only one turned up. I had two of the potatoes and my husband had the rest & they weren't nice at all. The chicken was also rubbery and not very nice. Disappointed as we have had chick king before & never had any complaints. Won't be having this for a long time.

Really disappointing,the chicken was basically non existent when you remove the coating,it was just bone and fat,won't be returning

Disgusting! Not even food. Cold, dry and somehow burnt burgers and abuse form staff. They will not be welcome to deliver at 20 Fornham road again. SO DO US A FAVOUR AND DONT BRING YOUR FILTH HERE

Chicken fillet burger OK and so was the chicken popcorn and wedges..... Never got the two pieces of Chicken or coleslaw we ordered. Explained the order clearly three times... but the guy just couldn't understand. ( really not that complicated). Managed to charge full price though. Got that OK. My fault... should of checked order before I took it home. Disappointed when I got home. Shame

Ordered takeaway for 10 people . Went to collect. Took a bit longer then they originally said on phone, but this was a busy Saturday night after all . But great staff who also marked on each box the various items which was very helpful. When we got home we noticed one item missed from order . On ringing to inform them they were very apologetic & delivered item within minutes . Very good service & would recommend.

Well overall quite disappointing food, nice peeps and fast service / delivery, very expensive too for 15 quid for a large doner with a bottle of coke, let me know what you guys think a good 50% of the meat way over cooked for me, some burned, I definitely asked for chili sauce too but they missed it, disappointing yes.

Best kebab in town…… but my most recent had different sauce on it, I hope it goes back to the old chilli and garlic sauce as that what we like about this place

As a lorry driver it's always nice to stop near here for the night when possible as the food is always spot with fast delivery and makes a nice change from cooking I'm the cab. 👍highly recommended 👌

Probably the best delivery place in Bury, Iv tried almost everything on the menu now and haven't disliked anything. Highly recommend the chicken wrap and the surprise potatoes, I'm not even in bury and delivery is always really fast.

Ive been using this take away on & off for years. We fancied food late one night last week as we hadn't eaten that day - food delivered quickly, plenty hot enough, and very nice. Recommend.

Huge portions and lovely unhealthy food. 😉 I went for a Spence burger which was chicken cheese and bacon (with salad and sauce). Sounded different, tasted lush.

I ordered a meal deal (chicken wrap with fries) with drink (tango) to be delivered. What turned up was an incorrect drink (Dr Pepper which we don’t drink) and doner meat, which I don’t like. Tried to call but line wasn’t working. Tried their online help chat but no response. When they did get phone lines sorted a couple days later, I complained and asked for a refund and was told manager would call back - manager never did. They’ve lost my custom and I was a regular customer. Bad lack of customer service. I can handle mistakes happen but it’s the lack of apology or phone call that has irritated me, aside from the fact I couldn’t eat what they had sent. I gave the meat to my dogs.

Been isolated for 4 weeks so treated myself for my birthday. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!!! I ordered large chicken popcorn and potato surprise. The potatoes were lovely- soft and tasty. The large chicken popcorn (which cost me £5!!) was a measly 12 mini balls about the size of a marble (not even one breasts worth); VERY overcooked and dry and some even hard. I couldnt eat them as i have sensitive gums so i gave them to my cats. Even they left some bits. Now thats saying something!!!!! Would definitely NOT recommend this option no matter what!!!!

Order took 1 hour 20 mins to arrive when it stated 40 mins when placed order then when it arrived it was stone cold so phone manager and the response I had was what do you want me to do about that which was repeated several times,I asked for refund and he said it wasn’t possible and to top it all they hadn’t even got the order right, Despicable customer service.

Had a takeaway from here whilst visiting my daughter for the weekend . Had southern fried chicken and the potato suprise. Not mega hot on arrival but tasty enough and reasonably priced .The potatoes were a new experience for me and would have them again .

Had to wait for food that was ordered online, no chicken cooked on arrival. Some of order missing and all chicken pieces were dripping in smelly grease and not in my opinion edible. Never going back

Thought for a bit of fun I would do the online order and pay with PayPal. Had a bet with my partner it wouldn't work! Well I lost the bet big time..... within twenty minutes my steaming hot ribs, wings and chicken portions arrived at my door. The food was great, the delivery driver friendly and the £1 delivery charge reasonable. I will be ordering online like this again, thanks for a great meal and clockwork delivery service ! :-)

The food is good if you collect, the potatos and chicken kebabs are real good! Ive never had delivery so cant comment on that. The one bad thing ive had from there was a mixed kebab. The chicken and doner meat where great, the lamb shish chunks though were chewy, gristly and i think im still chewing on bits of it.

Waste of money paid extras for toppings on the pizza, so they reduced the amount of other toppings(rip off) rang up to ask about this and the guy started shouting at me down the phone?!? Half my order was missing but I just gave up. This was really appaling. Trading standards should shut this place down, disgusted .

So I asked for a refund and the burger for a good will. But they said no. So we have had to go get the burger ourselves. So the chicken strips are cold so was pizza. Will not be using them again. Bad service and bad food.

The food containers were melted, The chips were burnt, The burgers had just been thrown together and the thing I'm angriest about is I was charged £1.50 for a single can of dr pepper not actually realising that it was for a can due to the price I thought it would be a large bottle, as you can imagine was seriously disappointed when there was not enough drink for everyone eating. 4 people eating had we all of wanted a can of drink it would have cost me £6.00 for 4 small cans of drink. I could go to a store and buy 2 multipacks for that price. Feeling robbed and feeling hungry. Half the food went in the bin.

i made a right mess ordering on my phone app- my fault- a quick call to the take away and all put right. good service- very helpful young lady.

The food quality was good. The order arrived within the allocated timescale. There was a small issue in giving the delivery driver directions when he called due to the language barrier but he was delivering to an industrial estate which doesn't use door numbers. I'd have no hesitation in ordering again and recommending Chick-King and the Just-Eat order system.

Delivery service is rubbish...ordered at 7.20pm, had an email to say estimated time 8 then got changed to 8.20pm but didn't come till half past!!

The doner kebab was found to be a little greasy, but the rest of the order was delicious.
